Local cafe in Toronto, known for there Crème brûlée also have drinks and baked foods Service of the staff was nice and friendly. Ambiance was a local small cafe A bit too liquidy to my liking, flavours are there Viet Coffee Pandan Coconut
Craque de Creme is super cute, but everything looks a lot better than it tastes. It's a bit out of the way, but if you happen to be visiting Casa Loma, it's a short walk from there. The interior is a bit cramped and the cafe is take-out only. Both the Lavender Coffee & Viet Coffee tasted like plain coffee, nothing special. The macarons were SO pretty but tasted so mediocre. They had unique flavors (my favorites were the Earl Grey & Chocolate Hazelnut), but they weren't chewy at all. Just very crumbly. The staff is super nice though, our barista explained the menu well and boxed everything nicely (he even wrote the flavors on the box for us).
If crème brûlée is the name it is definitely Craque de creme's game! Most certainly very creative and a variety of creme brulee's spot. They have 2 sizes and have categorized their desserts as alcoholic and non-alcoholic. I have tried both. There is a dozen of selections to choose from. They provide you brulee in mason jars to take home. The flavours thqt I would do again and again are: lavender, fererro rocher, regular, dulche de leche. But there is not a single flavour which I didn't like.
We saw this place featured on blogTO, and were really intrigued by the different flavours of crème brûlée. It's a bit out of the way as I took the subway over, but relatively easy to find once you get off the streetcar. The shop was empty when we walked in (Monday around 1PM). The interior has pretty simple decorations, but the area at the back looked cute with the long hanging lights. I wish they had a proper menu - the options were printed on sheets of printer paper pinned against the wall. For such unique flavours, a well-designed menu will really showcase the artistry. I ordered the vietnamese coffee crème brûlée paired with honeycomb chocolate ice cream. My boyfriend ordered the lychee vodka. I liked his a lot better - the flavour was a lot more prominent - but mine was great as well. Since we stuck around to work, I ordered a standard latte after dessert. The quiet atmosphere with free wifi certainly helps with productivity. If you're in the area, come by for a treat! Undeniably a unique shop and worth the visit.
Five of us braved the winds of winter (while we dreamed of spring) to try Craque de Crème (CdC). I was the one who had pushed kinda hard to try CdC, so I guess my disappointment was probably the most palpable (in my group) after our experience... The whole thing was super inconsistent. The flavors were off with the first couple crème brûlées ($5/each) we purchased: (a) the Ferrero Rocher was not sweet at all (other than the crumble layer on top) and tasted like sugar-free chocolate pudding; (b) the Vietnamese Coffee didn't remotely taste like Vietnamese Coffee and had a weird muddy taste/quality to it. I tried a few bites of the flavors that others in my group had picked, and they varied: Lychee Vodka (it was fine), Bailey's (probably the best of the bunch), and Bourbon Butterscotch (couldn't taste any Bourbon). Those three were all "boozy" so a little more expensive ($6/each), but beyond the Bailey's, they were all largely forgettable. I was so disappointed with the flavors I initially tried that I ended up getting back in line to buy another one. Because, I guess when something isn't right, you should throw more money at it and hope for better results? Dumbness on my part... I ended up picking Honey Lavender, and it tasted like... Honey Lavender. The flavor was actually really good. But it hadn't set at all, and it was practically liquefied when I broke through the caramelized sugar shell. Apparently throwing more money at the problem doesn't work... So either the flavors were bleh, or they were embarrassingly underdone. My feelings when trying a variety of crème brûlées shouldn't range from "... this is fine" to "... this is terrible." Especially when considering that we had spent $33(ish) for those six (smaller than average) crème brûlées. All this to say, "Womp. Womp." [] Summary [] Fantastic concept. Weak execution. I'm not likely to return, but everyone should try it for themselves and decide how they feel. I know I'm sitting here going "meh..." but maybe you'll have better crème brûlées than I did.
You gotta love a speciality creme brûlée shop! So unique and delicious. I tried the Ferrero Rocher and the Classic Vanilla Bean and they were both great, I recommend trying a non traditional flavor like Ferrero Rocher over the original since they're so rare to find. I also got a latte with house made vanilla syrup as I left and it was good (love house made syrups!) The place was intimate and cute, and the man who took my order was friendly and passionate about their products :) They also have a few items besides creme brûlée such as waffles. Definitely check this place out if you're a creme brûlée fan!
Amazing dessert place! They have the cutest macarons ever and some unique flavors as well (yuzu, thai coffee, etc). I got a box of 7 which was over 20 dollars. The macarons can get pretty pricey but in my opinion they are worth the price because they are so cute and taste good as well. A thing to keep in mind is that there is no parking nearby so our group had to switch sitting in the car to buy the macarons. Another thing to know is that they also have cute little creme brulee that you can get in a little jar to go (for an extra dollar to go) and they also have boozy options. Really cute place and worth the visit!
What's better then hearing the lovely enticing crack of your spoon hitting a good sugar crust? The amazing flavour that follows after it! This is my new favourite dessert place by far! There are multiple flavours to choose from and after you choose your selected flavour you get to see the master at work. I'm talking blow torch straight to this sugar crust. I assure you it adds to the whole experience. I ended up going with the salted caramel and Ferror Rocher. Both were amazing and unique in their own flavours. The salted caramel is my favourite flavour and it has the right salty taste to it. My husband did mention that the Ferror Rocher was equally delicious. What else can I say that will help you try this lovely gem spot? Nothing! So get your butt in and try it please!
Awesome little shop! Been meaning to come here for ages, finally in the area for dinner, wasn't quite full enough so decided to check it out! Love how they not only have dozen plus flavours of creme brûlée but also authentic Belgian waffles and homemade ice cream! They offered us when we came in if samples of their ice cream and it got me hooked right away! As I was still a bit hungry from dinner I decided to indulge and try their Belgian waffles! So glad I did, usually I prefer light airy waffles and worry Belgian waffles might be too dense for my liking but nope it was just what I needed! My friend ordered the honey lavender creme brûlée, I had the Belgian waffles with earl grey lavender! Can't wait to come back to check out all my top flavours of creme brûlée! (Ube, pandan coconut, Vietnamese coffee, Earl Grey)
A hidden gem that opened in my neighbourhood! My friends and I decided to check this place out right when they opened! The wait time was roughly 30 minutes at that time, but now there's no line ups. This place is known for the homemade creme brulees and cutely themed macaroons! The pictures are from 2 separate occasions! We decided to give the early grey, ferrero rocher, and salted caramel creme brulees a try. The Earl Grey as probably my favourite flavour! It wasn't too sweet which I like and had a very definitive tea taste! Second occasion, I gave in to the overpriced macaroons! It was for the holidays and I thought my lil cousins would enjoy the designs on these haha! Price: $3.25 each, no bulk pricing unfortunately! They have really unique flavours such as Vietnamese Coffee, Earl Grey, Milk Tea, Passion Fruit, just to name a few! Only downside would definitely be the pricing. There is seating and the place is really cozy!
Craque de Creme is a hidden gem!!! If you go to toronto it is definitely worth stopping. We discovered it through a Thrillist video on facebook and when we visited Toronto near Chriatmastime we decided to stop in and get some creme brulee. It did not disappoint!! We tried the ferrero roche and tiramisu creme brulee and a Belgian waffle. Everything was absolutely delicious. They have a bunch of flavors of creme brulee to choose from and they torch it right in front of you which is fun to watch. The waffles were also very good, we got one that came with ice cream which was delicious. The owner was there and he was very nice and happy to know that we stopped in because of the video floating around on Facebook!
Only one person can enter at a time. I went on a nice Saturday afternoon and even though I saw a customer coming out of this place, I did not have to wait. The staff is welcoming and friendly. The person answered all my questions about the menu. I ordered a salted caramel crème brûlée, one canelé and one black sesame macaron. All 3 were delicious. I am from France and I was missing crème brûlée and it satisfied my craving. I love that they have a lot of different flavors and Asian ones too. I want to go back and try more. They torch the crème for you. I also love that they have re usable containers and wooden spoons that are environment friendly. You can return your container and save 1$ on your next crème brûlée. More businesses should do that. The canelé was really enjoyable too. Would definitely come back for more. The macaron they have are from Daan go ! So I you live midtown and do to want to go all the way to Kensington market, this is where you can go. They're super cute looking and super tasty. They also make ice cream.
I've ordered the Ferrero Roche flavoured while my hubby ordered the salted caramel. I've really enjoyed mine as it was just like eating the centre of Ferrero Roche. I was never a huge fan of anything salted caramel. Since the pooh and Totoro were super adorable, I've ordered one of each. The Poon was supposed to taste like mango, I felt the flavour a little artificial which I wasn't a huge fan of. One thing that I think the creme brûlée can improve is the temperature between the torched layer and the actual layer. This is not a huge problem, will definitely come back to try out other flavours.
The go-to place to try various flavours of crème brûlée. Not your average all you can eat quality. I chose (and loved) the salted caramel! Also picked up a pistachio Belgian liege waffle but wished it was freshly baked. The location is a little bit harder to get to, but if you love dessert, no distance is too far! read more

Went twice and tried 7-8 different flavors with a couple of friends. Had high expectations. It's very mediocre! Nothing amazingly tasty or aromatic to write home about unfortunately! I love creme brûlé but I like it to be mind blowing specially at a specialty shop. Super nice owner who works as the sole operator. read more

Bourbon Butterscotch Creme Brûlée is really good. It's boozy and I liked the flavour and the texture. Belgian Waffle wasn't my favourite. I tried the one with Speculoos and vanilla ice cream. The home made ice cream was good, the texture of the waffle was also good, but the flavour wasn't anything too special. Service was good. Everything was super clean. I'll definitely go back to try more of the many Creme Brûlée flavours they offer. read more
Oh yeah, this place is delish. 2 affogatos (to the linguists, yes, affogatos or affogati both work here!) and one waffle to share. It was just do good! The waffle was not your standard breakfast variety but dense like the Belgian type of waffle. We got two macaroons to go as well and they were nice but not a 'real' macaroon. Still tasty though! Definitely coming back to try the Creme brûlée. Hey looked soooooooooo gooood. read more

Super cute little spot! I saw an article/video on Reddit and had to check it out. The owner and chef was very nice and friendly upon arrival. We tried the salted caramel creme brûlée and three little pigs waffles. My sister and her fiancé got the Oreo waffle, with their homemade ice cream, the Ferrero rocher and tiramisu creme brûlée. We practically licked the plates. Everything was AMAZING. We went out of our way to try this spot and it will definitely be on our must do list every time we go back to Toronto. read more

I was so excited to learn that a place specializing in creme brûlée was opening up walking distance from me. The business owner is trained in French cuisine so you know this is going to be good! It's a small storefront at Bathurst and St Clair and the inside is sleek and modern. I chose 6 creme brûlées for takeout and the liege waffles. The waffles, served warm, were delicious and perfect for nibbling on while our creme brûlées were torched to perfection. I chose the traditional vanilla bean, pandan coconut, salted caramel, dulce de leche and bourbon butterscotch. Nothing was overly sweet and the texture was creamy. The boozy one almost looked curdled but the taste wasn't compromised, and boy was it strong! Wooooo! The least favourite was salted caramel as I found the salt to be too prominent. The glass takeout jars have a deposit and you get the cutest wooden spoons. I would go back to try other flavours and to support the local business. read more

Came here for a little afternoon treat with my friend. We arrived when the place just opened and was greeted by the owner himself. He seem to be the only person running the place. He directed us to the menu that was placed across from the cash register. Note: you order first then seat yourself. There's a water station if you get thirsty and also a bin where you would place your dirty dishes in after you're done. Always enjoyed creme brûlée and I was super excited to try one of his many creations. He offer a variety of interesting flavours that all sound so yummy. I chose the Vietnamese coffee paired with a scoop of earl gray ice cream. The creme brûlée was tasty, coffee flavour was strong, it was drizzled with condense milk and I enjoyed watching it being torched infront of me. I felt that the earl gray ice cream was definitely needed or some kind of ice cream because it helps to balance out the sweetness and rich flavour of the Vietnamese flavour creme brûlée. The ice cream was made perfect in my opinion as earl gray taste was present, it was creamy and not overly sweet. The owner actually recommended to have the ice cream first then my creme brûlée after in my particular pairing. Moreover, the atmosphere of this place was pleasing and comfortable. You can study or hang out with your group of friends. He definitely made use of every square footage of this place. Also the selection of desserts from ice cream to creme brûlée and waffles. I will definitely come back to try the waffles because the pictures I've seen on yelp look so yummy. read more
This place is located in an odd area as it's on a major road yet the only parking nearby is on residential streets. I have never stopped in this neighborhood as there aren't many commercial spaces nearby. The setup is ok with a good amount of space and decent seating. They offer a few other desserts like macrons and Liege waffles other than their claim to fame. Macrons looked interesting and would be liked by kids for sure. The main attraction has so many flavors to offer that it took a bit of time to decide what to get. I had the bourbon and butterscotch. They do brulee' after the order so that's an attraction I suppose. After the novelty of fresh brulee' wears off this place offers a mediocre take on this dessert. I think there was too much sugar on top and the base didn't impress much either. Maybe I ought to have tried the classic version first. They do use vanilla beans and from what I could tell decent ingredients. Maybe the recipe was off. At this price point and location not worth the detour read more

I came here on a chilly weekday evening close to their closing time. Luckily the london dog flavor was still available since I was excited to try this one ! There was only one person working and I am assuming he is the owner. The shop is quite small. When you walk in, you will reach the ordering counter immediately. There are some seating available in the back. They also had waffles but I was only interested in the creme brulees. I got the london fog and my friend got the ferrero rocher. I thought the ferrero rocher was a bit too sweet for my liking and it was more of a chocolate taste than a ferrero rocher taste. The only part that made it taste like ferrero rocher was the crumbs on the top. I was expecting a strong hazelnut flavour in the actual creme brulee. I loved the london fog creme brulee though. I generally like all desserts that has a tea flavour and this was so good! There was a strong tea flavour and it was so delicious. I will definitely be back and I will most likely order this again. read more

As a person who will go to The Keg just to order the creme brulee, you know I came here ASAP (aka over a year ago). I ordered some of the flavours I've never tried before (basically anything besides the original lol) and part of me is glad I tried something new but the other half regrets not sticking to the OG. The Earl Grey was alright but didn't taste as creamy as I had expected. The flavour of the Honey Lavender didn't really come through that much. While macaroons were adorable and very IG-worthy, they tasted average, and the waffle was pretty dense and not as sweet as I had hoped. Otherwise, the shop is cute and I like how the owner prepares the creme brulee right in front of you; however spent a while finding parking nearby. read more
Surprised M by doing a pit stop here after Rec room. It's a small and cozy cafe that offers waffles, macrons, drinks and of course, Creme brûlée. I loved that they had vegan options. M had the boozy butterscotch and I had the mango coconut. We were both pleasantly surprised. I don't have a sweet teeth but I did enjoy the Creme brûlée and I would definitely come back here. We also shared a latte that we customized with almond milk. I wish this place was a bit closer (but maybe not cause then I would be here way too often). read more
A clean and trendy shop with some school-style desks, industrial/minimalist lighting, and an Iwatani-wielding man eager to bring you delicious custardy goodness in a variety of flavours! I've only tried the lychee vodka and the new ube flavour, with a few others sitting in my fridge I'll polish off easily tomorrow. I haven't gotten around to the coffee, or the ice cream/Belgian waffles but I'll soon be back for more. read more

Friendly service and super cute treats. My favorite thing to get here is the creme Brulee, the macarons are super cute I almost hate eating them. The macarons aren't as crunchy as they should be however, and the points they get are for the aesthetic rather than the taste. read more

Yummm we tried 4 different creme brulees and each got lattes, they were all delicious. Whether you want creme brulee or macarons, they had so many unique options. Must go back to try even more of the flavours. read more
Wonderful dessert spot! We had the affogato with vanilla ice cream, a waffle with whipped cream, and two macarons. The coffee was wonderful, and the waffle was dense and sweet, but light somehow. I didn't love that the cutlery is disposable and wood - think popsicle sticks - but It was still great. The atmosphere is lovely, and the smell of deliciously caramelized sugar is thick in the air. The lineup was quite long, but it was well worth the wait. They seem to be known for their Creme Brûlée (of which they offer a ton of flavours), so we'll have to try that next time! read more

Average creme brûlée and limited menu. Customer service is lacking. Very inefficient in handling orders resulting in a line, even with empty tables inside. The owner was taking the order, preparing it and then taking payment- while another person is just standing by with a lid on their hand.. weird division of labor.. Overall not bad, but likely wouldn't be back read more

This place was amazing with so many creme brûlée choices. I wanted some for my birthday and then found this gem. There was a bit of a wait but so worth it. This is my review of the ones I got: Also we got a waffle with cookies and cream ice cream, and I wasn't so impressed. The dulce de leche and vanilla bean tasted similar and most like classic creme brûlée. Honey Lavender was my favorite which surprised me. Smooth taste with a hint of lavender and honey. But the consistency was amazing. Pandas Coconut was ok. It tasted like lucky charm cereal marshmallows. Not my favorite. London Fog had just too much of a tea taste. It was overwhelming. Ferraro Roche was really good too. Chocolatey flavor and with the candy Ferraro Roche crumbles on top it was even better. read more

Not a huge amount of seats, maybe 4 tables in total plus smaller single 'desk' style tables. Coffee was really good! Service was quick and friendly. The macaroons are adorable! And offered in interesting flavours and characters. The waffle was a bit sweet but we also got it with the speculoos topping too, so that could have been the reason. But good flavour and texture. The viet coffee ice cream was more like caramel coffee ice cream. Didn't get too much of a condense milk flavour that makes viet coffee but still really good. The Ferrror Rocher creme brulee was exactly like a Ferror Rocher top of chocolatey creme brulee. Would definitely go back and try the other flavours. read more
I drove to this area just to try the creme Brulee so you can imagine my disappointment when I took my first bite. I ordered the Ferrero Rocher creme Brulee but it tasted more like chocolate pudding. Not really my thing - it wasnt creamy enough although the caramelized sugar is on point. The waffles were nothing special. Coffee ice cream didn't have enough sugar (I can't believe I'm saying this!) but it was quite intense. Maybe another flavour would've been better. Service was good and there is not much space for bigger groups. I feel like the odd one out for saying this but I found this place to be just OK and overpriced for what it is. read more
