Grilled Shrimp Quesadilla
Michael B.

Bar/Pub establishment with lots of seating away from the bar crowd. Seating is kind of tight in some areas but there are areas to get some private time. The night we were visiting, it was pretty busy and the service was a little slow but not real bad. Server was super friendly and very knowledgeable of the menu. Any special requests were fulfilled without question or judgement. The food was pretty good: -Fried pickles were your average sliced variety -My grilled shrimp quesadillas was really good with good amount of shrimp. The smash burgers the others had were very good. I heard lots of great comments. The only downfall of the food was the French fries. They were not super hot and they come out in small pieces. Ours seemed like maybe it was the end of the bag but as we looked around and asked the server all of their fries are like that. We did not like the fries. Pictures attached.

Lobster dip

The Crafty Rooster Bar and Grill Tucked right in the heart of downtown Conway, The Crafty Rooster Bar and Grill is the kind of hidden gem you hope to stumble upon--and then can't stop talking about once you do. Helen and I discovered it while scouting out local spots, and its location couldn't be better--just steps from the scenic Conway Riverwalk, surrounded by charming shops and historic buildings. Even the street parking (easy parallel with a two-hour window) felt like part of the laid-back, small-town experience. From the moment we walked in, the vibe hit just right: cozy, welcoming, and full of locals who clearly know a good thing when they see it. The staff made us feel right at home--friendly, attentive, and happy to help us navigate the menu. We kicked things off with the cold lobster dip, and let me tell you--this isn't your average appetizer. Imagine a creamy lobster roll transformed into a rich, indulgent dip, packed with chunks of lobster and served with warm pita points. It was the kind of dish you don't want to share... but have to. Helen went for the Reuben--perfectly stacked with shaved corned beef, tangy sauerkraut, Swiss cheese, and house-made Thousand Island, all grilled on black rye. I opted for the seafood platter with fish and shrimp, cooked to perfection. The fries were hand-cut, the seafood was fresh and flavorful, and while the jalapeño dill slaw had a bit more kick than I expected, the rest of the plate absolutely delivered. As we soaked in the atmosphere, we spotted a plate of loaded Brussels sprouts heading to another table--crispy, golden, tossed in garlic parmesan sauce, and topped with bacon and shredded parmesan. Safe to say, that's already on our must-try list for next time. And so is their "Everything but the Hen" wrap--a hearty combo of shaved steak, grilled shrimp, bacon, fresh veggies, provolone, and horseradish mayo wrapped up in a soft tortilla. Yes, it sounds as good as it looks. The best part? After a couple of beers, a full seafood platter, a loaded Reuben, and that incredible lobster dip, our total was still under $50--even with tip and tax. Great food, great prices, and a relaxed, local vibe--The Crafty Rooster Bar and Grill has officially earned a spot on our regular rotation. We'll definitely be back for more.

How clean are the plates?

Seth I have eaten there a number of times, mostly lunch. I have never had an issue with unclean plates or utensils or glasses.

My wife and I visited here on Saturday evening. Since we like doing reviews, we will give our best…read morereflection of our visit. Let's start with the positives, the place was quite busy during what many will agree would be the prime time college football hour. Therefore, there were lots of Football watchers and bar sitters cheering on their favorite team. There were TVs in every direction. Overall, I would say the service was okay. Overall, a little slow than we like, but the servers were all working their legs off trying to serve everyone in a reasonable time. I believe had it not been for all the football watchers, including myself, the service would be awesome. The food was delicious. We did not order off the Happy Hour Menu, as we actually wanted a real meal. However, the selections on the Happy Hour menu was a large variety of appetizers and beer. The prices for these look rather reasonable. My wife and I ended up splitting a Greek Salad, a fish and chips entree, and a hamburger entree. We also ordered one draft beer each, which was a Sam Adams Octoberfest. We then split a 3rd Octoberfest to complete our meal. The food was very, very good. Cooked well, and prepared to our liking. Our food was brought to us within 15 minutes after ordering. Now, here is the downside. Since we are huge Chanticleer fans, We want nothing more than these establishments like this one, who promote CCU, to do well. However, paying $75.00 with tip for a dinner and three total beers for two people is way off our budget. Let's be realistic. We are looking to pay about $50 for this meal anywhere else. FYI, The other Chanticleer sports hang out, Tongy's, that we have recently visited, is a little less expensive, but not nearly as clean. The food offerings are not as conducive to a real meal as Coastal Ale, but one that parallels sports food. Yes. I would recommend this place to others, especially during game day. However, brace yourself for a little sticker shock. The other downside is the parking lot and front of store. While we are huge animal lovers, having cats hanging around the front door is not a good look. The plaza management may want to invest in some landscaping as well, as the bush in front of Coastal Ale is a collection for trash and debris. We think it may be a better look to just remove it. While the restaurant may have less control over the exterior appearance, it is still a reflection of the overall restaurant. Nice job guys! Of course, if you can explore ways to lower your meal and drink cost, that may be a plus for those like us, who are on a fixed income. That being said, you may be catering less to the older clientele and more to the college population.

Food is amazing, great draft beer selection but most of all, the staff are all wonderful. Plus,…read morethe customers are friendly to a single person sitting at the bar.
