Cool place. Music bingo is a fun time. The way they have you get the food you order is odd.

We came in for lunch on a Wednesday afternoon and they were not too busy. It has a large bar area,…read morebut extra areas with tables. The staff were super friendly with great meal recommendations. The young lady who took our drink order and our waitress recommended the Crafty Quesadilla - Shredded cheese with sauteed peppers and onions, served with lettuce and tomato garnish salsa and sour cream. You can have it just like that or customize with- Grilled Chicken, Shaved Steak, Grilled Shrimp, Bacon, Lobster, Ground Cab Beef, Plant Based Patty, Fresh Jalapenos, Sauteed Mushrooms, Black Olives, and Tomatoes. I added chicken. It was very tasty with a balanced amount of chicken and vegetables. My husband had the Conway Burger. Local favorite! Bacon, lettuce, tomato, and onion, with pepper jack cheese. We had fried pickles for a starter and he added some of them to the burger. It was a nice big burger. Cannot wait to go back and try their Rivertown Mac. Conway is a beautiful town perfect for strolling on a lovely day. Picked up a jar of local honey from Mountain Man Honey & Goods. Lot of great local spreads without refined sugars.

Helen and I discovered it while scouting out local spots, and its location couldn't be better--just steps from the scenic Conway Riverwalk, surrounded by charming shops and historic buildings. Even the street parking (easy parallel with a two-hour window) felt like part of the laid-back, small-town experience. From the moment we walked in, the vibe hit just right: cozy, welcoming, and full of locals who clearly know a good thing when they see it. The staff made us feel right at home--friendly, attentive, and happy to help us navigate the menu. We kicked things off with the cold lobster dip, and let me tell you--this isn't your average appetizer. Imagine a creamy lobster roll transformed into a rich, indulgent dip, packed with chunks of lobster and served with warm pita points. It was the kind of dish you don't want to share... but have to. Helen went for the Reuben--perfectly stacked with shaved corned beef, tangy sauerkraut, Swiss cheese, and house-made Thousand Island, all grilled on black rye. I opted for the seafood platter with fish and shrimp, cooked to perfection. The fries were hand-cut, the seafood was fresh and flavorful, and while the jalapeño dill slaw had a bit more kick than I expected, the rest of the plate absolutely delivered. As we soaked in the atmosphere, we spotted a plate of loaded Brussels sprouts heading to another table--crispy, golden, tossed in garlic parmesan sauce, and topped with bacon and shredded parmesan. Safe to say, that's already on our must-try list for next time. And so is their "Everything but the Hen" wrap--a hearty combo of shaved steak, grilled shrimp, bacon, fresh veggies, provolone, and horseradish mayo wrapped up in a soft tortilla. Yes, it sounds as good as it looks. The best part? After a couple of beers, a full seafood platter, a loaded Reuben, and that incredible lobster dip, our total was still under $50--even with tip and tax. Great food, great prices, and a relaxed, local vibe--The Crafty Rooster Bar and Grill has officially earned a spot on our regular rotation. We'll definitely be back for more.

Hop & Wich -- Downtown Conway…read more I really, really wanted to give Hop & Wich five stars because there is a LOT to like about this place. The first thing that grabbed us was the atmosphere. When you walk in and see the two giant trees, hanging lights, and the overall setup, it creates a super vibey, fun environment that immediately makes you want to sit down and stay awhile. And then there's the menu. So many creative options that we honestly didn't know what to order. We were excited to try as much as possible, so with our group of seven, we basically went on an appetizer-eating mission. Unfortunately, this is where things started to go sideways. We had several mistakes throughout the meal. My daughter received the wrong wrap, I ordered charbroiled oysters and was brought Oysters Rockefeller, and our friends at the table didn't receive their food until we had already been eating for about 15 minutes. The food itself was a mixed bag. The buffalo chicken dip was tasty, but it wasn't nearly as hot as I expected. It seemed more like it had been put into a bowl rather than served piping hot and bubbling like we've experienced at other restaurants. The chips and queso were okay, but the queso didn't really stand out to me as homemade or anything particularly special. The Garlic Parmesan wings, on the other hand, were excellent. Big, juicy, meaty wings with plenty of substance. Definitely one of the highlights of the meal. The hush puppies with honey butter were also very good. We also tried the Bang Bang Shrimp, which was good, but presented differently than what we're accustomed to. Instead of tossing the fried shrimp in the Bang Bang sauce, the sauce was simply drizzled over the top. Not necessarily bad, just not my preferred preparation. Then came the strangest part of the meal for me. I wasn't quite full, so I ordered a burger. Instead of bringing it out for me to eat at the table, it was put directly into a to-go box. So...I ended up eating my burger out of a takeout container while everyone else was still sitting at the table. What bothered me most wasn't any one mistake. It was the number of mistakes happening at the same table without any apparent management intervention. There was a sign asking guests to bring issues to the manager's attention, but I never saw a manager circulating through the dining room checking on tables. Our server appeared to be training another server who had only been there for two days, which may explain some of the confusion, but that's exactly when I would expect a manager to be especially visible and involved. And I say all of this as someone who has worked in restaurants for many years and considers himself a foodie. I know mistakes happen. Nobody expects perfection. But when you have a table of seven experiencing multiple order issues, delayed food, incorrect dishes, and service confusion, that's the point where a manager should be stepping in to make sure the experience gets back on track. That's the missing piece for me at Hop & Wich. The creativity is there. The atmosphere is there. The menu is VERY intriguing. There are some genuinely good dishes. But the execution and management weren't where they needed to be during our visit. I would absolutely give this place another shot because I think there is a really fun restaurant hiding underneath the service issues. I'd love to come back, order some of the other creative things on that menu, and see what this place can really be when everything is clicking. Lots of potential. Great vibe. Some very good food. But too many mistakes during one visit to justify five stars.
