I've been to this location several times on and off through the years. It's hit or miss. Today my family and I tried to give them another shot after hearing they'd cleaned up their act and were under new management. Tbh, we won't be back. The server was exceptional, the food came out in a timely manner and the drinks stayed full. The food however, absolutely sub par. Seasoning was nowhere in sight. The sauces were bland. The bread didn't even taste like bread but oil. My son described the pasta as a "gummy bear " like consistency. Went here for the 1st time at this location on Saturday December 27th 2025 with my parents for a much needed dinner. Applebees is a chain restaurant that serves burgers, salads, some fish, and other items that a chain usually has, like ribs. They can also be known for their drinks as well. Anyways, we walked in, and there was an 30 Minute wait, they said the Kitchen was backed up, okay- so we said no, but spent maybe that same time or less in the car. So we get out of the car and changed our minds and decided to wait. We also went to the bar, and was called when our table was ready. At the bar, we decided on drinks while we waited, and my mom had the tipsy reindeer drink. I had a Blue Mana Drink. Bartender did his job and checked ID. We also ordered nachos, and BBQ boneless wings as an appetizer. Before you know it, our table was ready. Oh, and both in the bar, and in the restaurant, it felt a little chilly. anyways, so we moved to the table in the restaurant and was somewhat seated near the door. Not sure if it helped the cold situation. Anyways, our server was very pleasant and had lots of southern hospitality. Although it took her longish to greet us- but can understand because when it's busy, it can be a rush to get there. With the server we ordered 3 waters, and my dad ordered another drink, and the waitress recommended the sleigh all day margarita. Also because our waitress took a little long to greet us-- it did give us time to look over the menu and decide what we wanted to order. After finally getting our waters and my dad's drink. For entrees My mom and I did the 2 for $25 deal which was on the back of the menu, one can get 2 entrees and an appetizer- I got the Oriental Chicken Salad, and my mom got the same thing, and we got the Fried Mosseralla Appetizer. My dad ordered a Whisky Jam Burger, which sounded like Fridays old burger. Finally the appetizers came out- the nachos and boneless wings. The nachos were enjoyable, and came with guacomole on top! (My mom and i liked that, my dad not so much). The wings sauce was good, but it tasted like it spent too much time under a hot lamp and was dried out. Fried Mossarella was good too! Finally the entrees came out, and i enjoyed my salad, as did my mom. My dad also enjoyed his burger. As it got less busy, our waitress checked on us more often. Oh, although we ran into an issue that the ketchup was empty at our table, and my dad was searching the restaurant for a ketchup, and unfortunately they only had ketchup packets, in which the bartender apologized for- but the waitress seemed rude about it. she said to my dad "excuse me?" Now he used the packets, but no need to be rude about it. Anyways, I enjoyed my salad, as well as my mom. We also asked for boxes as we didn't finish all of our salad. We paid the check via a gift card and left a cash tip. We enjoyed our food, and would probably be back! DO NOT ORDER OVER THE PHONE. I ordered an hour and a half ahead of time and received my order around 20 minutes after the set time.

Our waitperson was (I think) Crystal or Krista. Took a while for her to visit us. I never saw a waitperson sit at our table taking our order before. Very unprofessional. We ordered a classic cheeseburger and the appetizer trio. i ordered a diet Pepsi and received a regular one. Her trainee fixed this for me. We watched the table that came in after us receive food. After 40 minutes, Krista came back and said our order had a challenge. Seriously??? At that point, we said forget it and left. I have experience in restaurant management and Applebee's really needs to step up their standards. Scariest fact about our visit ... she was training someone. TLDR: 2nd visit after 9 months, still same poor service and timing. Not worth your time or money unless you have nothing to do later in the day, and at that better off going to somewhere like Chili's. Visited last in late March of 2025 and had very poor service. It was not busy, with maybe 6-8 other patron groups on arrival. Our server took a good few minutes to even come over to our table. Food timing took FOREVER, I am talking well over 35 minutes for our appetizer order and then another 20-30 minutes to get our main courses, while other tables seated after us got appetizers and main courses before us. And then when this review was written, December 28th 2025, we came back hoping it's improved, but service still slow. It was maybe twice as packed from my last visit but it still took 15 minutes before our server came, and another 20-25 minutes for our appetizer to come in while a later seated table got 2 appetizers long before us, and wasn't checked in on to order main course until moments before the appetizer came out. The main course then took another 35+ minutes, with no regular updates on status in kitchen. And the server kept going to every single table around us that came after us instead of even taking our order so we sat there with menus for 30 minutes. Table nearby us was even complaining about the service and food quality to the supervisor. While the food was still okay, not worth the "long wait times" in kitchen and server quality is not the best. If the servers were a little more regular with checking on your table, kitchen timing a little more faster would be better but I can only give this place at most 2/5 stars on a good day. The chef should be fired and made to eat his own food, the wait staff hate their job and you can tell. The manager is complicit in ensuring you have a horrible time and acts surprised when you have a 1 star meal and service and will not look at the reviews on here because, money First. This is the only restaurant in 2 hours while headed to myrtle Beach and they know it, so they know they get to sucker you in. Don't come here if you value life lol. I want to emphasize that Applebee's was my son's favorite place to go out to eat back in NJ. We just moved to Conway South Carolina about 10 weeks ago. This was our first time eating at this location. I should have walked out the door before even being seated. While we were waiting to be seated, a elderly man asked to speak to a manager to complain about their food saying that him and his wife never had a bad experience at Applebees before until today the manager followed him outside, offering him a coupon or a phone number to call, but the man refused and continued walking. Not knowing what the issue was, I just minded my own business and waited to be seated. We were seated in the bar area. It was the afternoon. It wasn't busy. I ordered the oriental chicken salad with a ginger ale. My son ordered chicken fingers and french fries with a chocolate milk and we got spinach artichoke dip for an appetizer. The appetizer came out about 10 minutes after we ordered and was lukewarm at best I tried it and didn't like how cold it was but before I could ask them to reheat it they brought out our food within mins of the app being dropped off, so I didn't say anything, My salad had a lot of wilted pieces and just wasn't as fresh as normal. I ate about a quarter of it before I was full. The prices are higher here than New Jersey, which struck me as odd. Since minimum wage here is 7$ and it's 15$ in NJ so that was super odd anyways, Our bill was 40$ I tipped 22% on the ride home I felt sick to my stomach and had to pull over to throw up. I have been going to Applebees most of my life and have been locations all over the country. When getting the change to my bill I was shorted and was then told that they don't carry change. Now I know to some $.32 isn't a lot to some people but for me it could mean my next meal or my laundry. So when I informed the waitress there goes your tip she gave me an attitude and I told her that what was being done is stealing and was met with a getting out. Well all I can say now is being I live in this town I will be reporting what they do to corporate and also to the police because it is petty theft and stealing from their customers. Let me start by saying, I knew it was going to be awful when I saw an employee wearing pajama pants and headphones on his head walking in and out of the kitchen. This restaurant could be so much more, but the lack of management and passion by the ownership group, has this location failing miserably. This restaurant suffers from dirty conditions, reported mold by Dhec, roaches that are in the drop ceiling, and a staff that could care less if they give good service or good food. They hire ppl that are immature or in between jobs, with little to no experience and no passion to actually make this a career. The store GM is immature and is there for a paycheck. Recently this location had a C RATING by the state, and that meant they had more than 32 violations. A once good food chain has forgotten about this location, and daily, takes advantage of customers. This far most the time pray day ever I was on a date with my husband and the wings they brought out to me was trash. They were old and hard I eat Applebees it's my favorite restaurant just not this location anymore I would rather travel further then to come to Conway anymore! I am not one to write bad reviews. But 3 strikes and you're out. The first time at this location we were charged $60 for a $30 dinner. And received an oops sorry didn't see that. Ok. Second time ordered pickup and was missing part of our order. Well, I figured it's been a bit and ordered through their app for pick up. Get the meal home (I live 5 mins away so it wasn't travel time) and it's cold. Not room temp. Not luke warm. From the refrigerator COLD. Spoke to the manager gave my info. Spoke to the General Manager. 20 mins of repeating myself and a condescending attitude and well we can give you a gift card speech. No thanks. I'm sure I'll get a reply of some sort. Degeneracy. It's as if this place WAS an Applebee's, but it closed down at some point, and a bunch of homeless people started living in it and tried to continue running it as a restaurant. TRIED. This location is the culmination of ignorance, hatred, social ineptitude, lack of parenting, existential dread, primal rage, inner turmoil, poverty, and fear. I actually DO recommend this place if you have $40 to waste, purely for the entertainment of watching a dinner shift dissolve into chaos, if you're into that kind of scene. Forget those generic beach attractions, this is a REAL show. It's wild, visceral, and raw. Behold! I left a review on a site from our experience on the Conway Applebee's. Absolutely horrible experience. Food is not even eatable. Greasy floors. People and children slipping. Great place for a lawsuit. I have gone through tons of reviews for this location and it appears same issues, never resolved. And what makes it even worse, are replies from owner giving a canned statement. Week after week, month after month and older; the same owner replies. The owner appears to be the biggest problem. No changes for the better. Same disgusting answers. Looks like the owner needs to quit typing and get to work resolving their horrible issues of poor service, terrible food, dirty restaurant. Do not think that this is a standard Applebee's it is an impostor. Nothing about it is even close to what you may have been used to. This "fake" served up a crusty cheeseburger along with cold fries, without blinking an eye! And this after waiting over an hour for it. The bread was stale and the toppings were limp. My young server was quick to throw the kitchen under the bus, an rightly so. The Manager was going from table to table apparently apologizing to outraged customers. Of which I was one. They took off the sandwich but paying customers to eat bad food will not cut it. If the main office knew just how bad this place is they would take the keys and burn it down! I normally don't care if my food takes awhile because I've worked in the food industry and I know it's not always the waitress's fault or anything but we waited over an hour for a burger and chicken tenders... It was not that busy either or else I really would have understood. Our waitress was nice but she was constantly on her phone so when we asked for boxes it took a while. We went to this Applebees in Conway, SC on 8-10-24 for the wings, riblets and shrimp special. Our server was great and made sure we had everything that we needed. A+ for Amy! Now, at a table in the bar area, I observed several employees eating. They had food in little black to go trays and would come over and eat a bite or too. I though the must have been on break, but they were not. They would eat and then go to their tables and serve guests. The bar tender would do the same. It is doubtful that they washed their hands before attending customers. Employees at restaurants should never be eating while working. read more

I'm not one to do this but this experience really was one of the worst I have ever had! 70$ for 3 meals and it all cold and frankly inedible. Both Riblet platters were absolutely disgusting. My friend got a steak and it was literally like rubber. The service was even WORSE. All the employees except a couple were all worried about talking and vaping etc instead of taking care of their tables. at one point all of them were standing outside talking. And of course the manager was no where to be found. We didn't get waited on at all until 15 mintues after we got there. The table next to us when we got there waited 20 minutes for one drink.
