Back here again for the late night happy hour. The food is decent but the service is terrible. The restaurant is practically empty but our server is barely around. This will be my second time coming here and the first time where I didn't like my meal. Mind you, I'm one to NEVER send my food back to the kitchen. So, I ordered a Buffalo chicken sandwich and it wasn't what I expected. If you're looking for a breaded and crispy chicken sandwich, this isn't the sandwich for you. However, when informing my waitress about this, she pointed out that there was sauce but she immediately gave it to the kitchen to fix the problem. Disappointed by the service...food was great! We really looked forward to coming here. I got a margarita and it was awful, pure salt! I sat it at the end of the table and didn't touch it. We were never asked about our drinks or food. Wasted $11 on the margarita and even as they were cleaning the table, they still didn't ask or offer to replace it. Came here on Friday night after a movie, about 11pm. The servers and bartenders were superb! The bar tender was knowledgeable and super sweet- So nice and helpful and answered any beer questions and gave tastings without asking . The food was good and quickly came out , a server actually brought it to our table even tho the servers were leaving around the time , but he was still extremely kind to find us and bring it out . The low stars is due to the bouncer - he had a tattoo of the Cheshire Cat on his head . Around 1:20am he came in yelling - he told everyone inside and I quote "You all better get the F*** out of here before we close at 2" . Working in bars and distillery's all of my life, I do understand wanting to close up shop and get tabs closed out . However. I have never spoke to customers in such a manner . It was so disrespectful and rude. I was crushed because we had been having SUCH a good time ! I do hope the management or if he is a manager , he can reevaluate the way he speaks to paying customers. Glad this this opened back up in Fairfax post COVID-19, but I think they've compromised on quality and prices are a little on the higher end. We went for Happy Hour and I still found the place expensive! We ordered the nachos, margarita pizza and fries along with a few drinks. While visiting friends in VA last weekend we decided to check out Crafthouse. We didn't get off to a great start, though. We found a table and were immediately handed menus but then sat for 10 minutes without getting any other service. Looked like the servers were all congregating around in the corner at their own table. Thankfully the bartender (didn't catch her name...tall girl with tattoos) saved the day. Literally caught us as we were getting up to leave and had us come over to sit at the bar so she could take care of us. She more than made up for the lack of service that we had gotten before. I went out this evening to relax and was stressed out by your manager/bartender, who was unreasonably disrespectful and unprofessional to the band that came in to play, I sat at the bar and watched a whole argument and altercation. The bartender even body-shamed one of the shorter band members for his height, calling him "little man", which was deplorable and condescending. The bartender even had the nerve to say "welcome to fairfax" as if this is just how people act in fairfax, if it is, I never want to come here again. His behavior was over the top, I don't care what the band did, how he acted was completely unprofessional. Checked out this craft beer spot on a Sunday night and had an awesome experience. Danny, the manager, is very personable and helpful. Lauren and Warren were our bar tenders and gave us awesome service. They helped us decide on what to get and gave us samples to try. The atmosphere is also great and comfortable and very CLEAN. We sat outside on the patio and really liked the atmosphere with the live band. We started out inside but it was too loud. We ordered the bbq chicken pizza and the southwest burger wrap with a side Caesar salad. My hub really liked the pizza. I was surprised to see how small and unappetizing the side salad was especially for being an extra $4. It was very small and had those tiny gross croutons on it. I was originally going to get the veggies but the waiter could not specify the type of veggies. My wrap was cut in half, one of them the wrap broken so everything was falling out. However, the service here is usually pretty chaotic. You are often left sitting at your table for a while without any help, especially inside. Also, the food is NOT good. Don't come here for dinner, the app's aren't bad with some beers, but even simple items like the pulled pork sandwich or grilled cheese are NOT good (how do you mess us a grilled cheese?). Came here the other day with some friends. Easy to find in a nice town center type vibe, easy parking might have to walk if busy but that's fine. Boneless wings were nasty to say the least very rubbery and tasted like they been sitting for a bit the fries were definitely old crunchy and not salted. Asked for another order second order came out in a less then 2 mins they definitely weren't fresh again. Manager came out and asked what's wrong. I said the fries weren't fresh the first time or the second time and he said they are. I said that's fine it doesn't matter. But I'm only leaving this review because I'm so sad that my server ended up tipping herself an extra $20 even though I left her $20 in cash for tip... I'm a bartender and I normally tip more than 20% and the fact that she ran my card and closed out an extra $20... THAT was a slap in the face. I came with my sister's to have a good time but just... Wow... I'm saddened that this happened. I remember my tab... It was about $50... But the fact that she ran it and closed it out and tipped her basically another $20 off my credit card. My sisters and I are all apart of the service industry! Like we seriously understand the struggle. My sister's are both servers but I bartend in DC so money honestly isn't all that tight for me... And I'm not butthurt just man... That seriously hurt me that she closed out on my tab to add an extra $20 off her tip out. I NEVER WRITE YELP REVIEWS... NEVER!!! But I'm only writing this because I will not return off of that pettiness. My sister's and I even cleaned up the table to make it easier for our server. WE UNDERSTAND YOUR POINT OF VIEW! We honestly only go out to help others in this position. I left cash for your tip for a reason... Just ugh. I ordered through uber eats. I got the short rib brisket burger... but all they gave me was a hamburger with cheese, onion and tomato. Such a disappointment. The beer selection is pretty decent. I recommend starting with a flight before committing to a pint of anything. I picked 4 random dark beers that I'd never tried before. 2 were delicious. 2 were sub-par. I feel like most pubs in this area aren't going to offer the selection that Crafthouse does. So by that metric alone, this place gets 4 stars. The food, however, isn't anything amazing. I got the turkey club which was pretty tasty but it wasn't mind-blowing plus it's pretty hard to mess up a turkey club. We had just arrived in town to visit our son. It was mid afternoon, too late for lunch, too early for dinner, so we came here to just grab a snack and a beer. There were a few people at the bar and several servers walking around (we could tell who they were by their matching striped shirts). We sat ourselves and were handed menus by one server. Then, nothing. Our son finally got up and went to the bar. Shortly after he returned, someone came up and we ordered some food and beers (I actually ordered a cider but I suppose that is beside the point). At some point afterward, we were brought plates, forks and napkins, stacked up and placed on the table. Not really a biggie, I wasn't expecting tablecloth service. Our drinks arrived and were quite good, followed by our food. It was then we realized there were 2 plates, 3 forks and napkins. Since there were 3 of us and again, no server seemed to look or head in our direction, our son went back to the bar. He stood there for what seemed an eternity before returning with a plate (I saw him standing there while servers walked around him and finally getting the bartenders attention for a plate). We drank, we ate, we paid, we left. Doubt we will go back. If they can't serve quickly and attentively on a slow mid-afternoon, I can't imagine what we would have to go through on a busy lunch or crowded weekend night. read more
