I sat at the bar since I was just by myself. The restaurant has an elevated feel and the bar is not over crowded with tools and liquor. The overall seating is quaint and inviting. The bar is probably one third of the draw, and they're proud of it. As they should be. I started with an appetizer of Roasted Brussels, glazed in hot honey and balsamic. Then a ceaser salad course to end with the Blackberry Chop entree. Brussels: Appearances, over cooked, but delightfully not.. aroma of smoke. Light on balsamic, heavy on hot honey, but not over done. Just slightly out does the bitterness of the sprout until the end with an underwhelming finish. Crispy outside with an al dente center. Topped with almond slivers and melted strips of Parmesan cheese. The execution produced a rubbery texture. The almonds seem to be there for texture and looks and don't add much to the dish, but I wouldn't take them off. Shareable portion. Caesar salad- dressing not made in house. Decently dressed. Same rubbery Parmesan. Croutons are perfectly crunchy, romaine cut to a perfect size. Crisp lettuce. Too much sub par cheese makes it hard to eat. A freshly made scratch dressing would take this dish over the top. BlackBerry chop: pecan crusted with a rough chopped nut. cooked well done (could have come off the heat just a couple minutes earlier, but not a bad cook) and charred adding a nice bitter finish to the glaze and pecans. The blackberry glaze is reduced nice and thick, to a BBQ sauce consistency. Great sweet blackberry flavor. Fingerling potatoes roasted and lightly tossed in olive oil, salt and pepper, and a hint of thyme served with crisped garlic minced and sprinkled on top. Candied collard greens are pleasantly sweet and bitter, wilted and with a surprisingly kick of peppered heat. All in all, 4 stars for atmosphere, staff and menu. We came on a weeknight around 8 PM for dinner. I got the southern gentleman burger cooked medium rare. It was huge and came with fried green tomato and pimento cheese on top. The burger was cooked exactly how I asked and it was juicey. It came with shoe string fries similar to those you would get at McDonalds. I enjoyed them, but I know everyone has their own taste in fries. It was a wonderful and well appointment dining space. We sat in the dining room area to the right. There was more seating to the left by the bar which was noisier. Our server was super personable and gave great recommendations. Will definitely be back. Went here with friends on a Friday night. Ambiance and service was on par with sit-down chains, drinks were good, but food was lackluster. My husband's meatloaf was dry and unappealing. My sandwich that was supposed to be made from prime rib was made with beef slices like you could get at the grocery. Fries were stale. One of our party said the place seemed to get the food from Applebee's, then microwaved it. This was the first time here for all of us, but we won't be going back. read more

We came here for lunch today. It was a pretty busy spot during lunch time so service was a bit slow. The waitress was really nice; it just seemed like the food took forever to get to us. The crab dip appetizer was good, a little soupy texture but still tastes good. My husband had the crabcake sandwich and he said it tasted good. My kids had the mac n cheese, fries and side of fruit and they seemed to like it. My friend and I had two different kinds of burgers. She had the burger with blue cheese and she raved about it. I would appreciate Matt Moore, manager, contacting me as soon as possible. I rarely have seen any one that looks like me at the bar or eating here but I have been a regular for two years. I just came into the restaurant and was told I was not to be served. I asked why and they said because a bar tender went in the back and cried. Why she cried, I have no idea. Why I am being told to "watch" myself, is a cause for concern for anyone nonwhite coming to this facility. I will follow-up. read more

Two of us went here for lunch on a Saturday. It was about 1 pm when we got there and the place was moderately full.. less than half. There is plenty of parking around the back of the building and it is a very short walk to it. We were seated quickly and got menus and water. They have a large selection of craft beer- some local and some not along with cocktails and wine. We each had a beer. We ordered an egg roll appetizer that came with two sauces... one of which was a mumbo sauce and very good. The egg rolls were good. I got a Libbie Mill sandwich with fries... it had a couple of different meats, pepper relish on french bread. It was very good. My wife had a grilled chicken salad This could have easily been a 4 star review but the service and food delivery was quite slow. I think our waitress honestly had to many tables... she was all over the room. Plus they dont keep the table areas very clean. We were seated at a table covered in salt. It was easily visible before sitting down. There were other examples but a little more attention to that kind of detail would go a long way. I have to say I was a little disappointed with Crafted. I came here with coworkers for a team happy hour. The first round of drinks was paid for by our firm, so we ordered one round and I asked to close out so I could pay. Our server, who I was not impressed with, seemed confused until I explained again that our firm was buying the first round and I wanted to close out after that so we could each be responsible for any drinks after that. Their happy hour specials were very, very disappointing. Our server said they only had 2 drinks on their happy hour menu, so I picked one and went with it. My coworkers were not impressed with the choices so they ordered regular cocktails. I wish I did the same because my first drink was extremely disappointing. I can't even remember what it is, and the website doesn't list their cocktails, so I can't warn anyone else away. The second drink I got was better-it was refreshing and tasted delicious. All in all, drinks were 50/50 for all 5 of us at the table. Now for food. The first thing we ordered were the crispy Brussels sprouts. They were decent, but lacked flavor. I think the char was nice but they could have used a little more salt and maybe even garlic. Next we got the egg rolls which would have been much, much better if they weren't burnt. The flavor on the inside was nice but none of us could get past the burnt exterior. The next order we received was the poutine. It was mediocre, which seems to be the theme here. The fries were waffle fries which I'm not used to seeing with poutine but the flavor was okay. The cheese curds weren't very present. I don't know if it was the way it was cooked or if they didn't put any, but we were very underwhelmed. Finally we got the redneck bruschetta. This would have been so much better if they didn't put a pound of pimento cheese on top. I think the flavors work well, but they really need to lighten up on the pimento. We had giant globs sitting on the plate because nobody wanted to eat a pound of it per piece of bruschetta. The man and I stopped in for a late lunch and from the jump, the tone was set for a strange experience. First, it almost felt like we were imposing on their slow time. It took forever for someone to greet and seat us, and when she did, again, it felt like a bother. Athena came and got our drink order and our fried oysters appetizer came out quickly. They were okay flavor-wise, but the batter was TOO crunchy... a seemingly impossible complaint, but it's true. I got the tuna with white beans with a salad and he got fried chicken and mac/cheese with a side of crab bisque soup. All of it came out quickly. My salad was perfect. Fresh and crisp. The tuna was almost perfect, but it ended up being a very strange pairing with the white beans, which I didn't enjoy at all. And I like white beans. The crab bisque soup tasted like creamy flour. Utterly flavorless. His chicken and mac/cheese also had zero flavor. Everything here needs salt. The worst part of the visit was the apathetic service. When we could actually get Athena's attention (she would walk by a million times and never even look our way... mind you, this is 3 p.m. with no one else there except people at the bar), she never looked us in the eyes when speaking to us. She almost didn't even stop walking. She seemed to roll her eyes once when we asked for blue cheese. When bad service is paired with unseasoned, mediocre food at best, it's not a great experience. Sunday brunch with my man friend. Thought we'd try some place different so we went to crafted. Service was prompt and friendly. The young lady was wonderful can't remember her name. I got the pig and chicken, bacon and eggs. He got pancakes, eggs, grits and bacon. My only critique, the pancakes were like three silver dollar pancakes instead of three average pancakes. My eggs were scrambled and were seasoned well just a tad runny, but still good. These aren't horrible issues just personal preference. I highly recommend Crafted and I wish I knew the server's name because she was a awesome. read more

Went to Crafted for husband's birthday per his suggestion as we had been there few times before. What a huge disappointment. Not sure what has happened but this was one of worst meals we have had ever. Food was tasteless. Meatloaf my son got appeared to have come from frozen loaf of compressed meat. The space is great, clean and spacious. My wife and I could comfortably have our 2month old next to the table in the stroller. Service is always friendly and attentive. The food is serviceable, but nothing to write home about. I'm a craft beer guy and always look for and appreciate a spot that has an extensive draft list covering numerous styles. Crafted has that. In my 5+ visits I've not had an IPA that tasted clean or wasn't old/flat/stale. Last night I told myself "I'll try one more IPA here." I went for the Equilibrium Neutrino pale ale, a beer I've had a handful of times. The beer was oxidized, hop profile broken down and faded and was just a flat, malty and "old" tasting shell of itself. That's how all of Crafted's tap hoppy offerings I've experienced have been. I don't think the lines are dirty, I believe the beer program isn't being managed well. I love all the options, but something is off with the beer. I stopped ordering their interesting DIPA cans because of their age, same problem. My last can was 6+ months old. Can't be a place called "Crafted", boast the taps you do and have them taste the way they do and not expect a snob like me to call it out. The bourbon selection is excellent, however, with solid prices. I've given up on the beer program at Crafted and replaced it with their quality bourbon lineup. read more

In the past, Crafted has been our go to for good food and drinks but in the last several months it has definitely taken a downhill turn. You can see that traffic has significantly decreased from needing a reservation to get a table to basically having your choice of where to sit. The quality of the food has taken a turn for the worst. In my most recent visits we had the oysters which were over breaded, small, and tasteless. The Redneck Bruschetta had way too much pimento cheese which I think was there to cover up the tasteless fried green tomatoes, and we couldn't find the prosciutto that was supposed to be present on the app. The Greek pita was full of chicken but barely anything else leaving you with a very dry and boring sandwich. And finally the meatloaf platter which had two slabs of very dry meatloaf, tasteless and dry mashed potatoes, and unseasoned tasteless broccoli. This is NOT the restaurant it one was. And don't expect the same level of service either. We were ignored for a good ten minutes and then seemed to be a bother to the server when they finally stopped at our table. Not the first time this has happened recently. It wasn't that they were busy at all...Lastly, the drink menu is great but the drinks we have sampled in the last few weeks have been overpowering with alcohol and not much else taste wise. We hope they make changes quickly before it is too late and they lose all of their once loyal customers. read more

I've gone to this place two times and I think this place is only okay. As an appetizer, I tried their Tuna Tartare. It was only alright. I felt like it was missing some salt and pepper - I will most likely not order this again. I did like the Tennesse Lady Bird Sandwich that I ordered the first time was pretty good, but quite greasy for my taste. The kick flavor was there and I enjoyed the fries on the side. My friend got their Southern Gentlemen Burger and (impressively) at the whole thing! haha. The service was pretty good during the lunch rush. As for my second time, I came here alone and was craving some wings. I remembered that this was down the street from my workplace and decided to try their appetizers. I decided on their fried oysters and wings - Carolina Gold style. They both were only okay. I felt that the breading was a lot and I easily broke apart when I picked up some of the oysters. Their wings were pretty dry and I didn't taste much of the "sauce" or flavor that I picked. Kinda wish I requested from some ranch sauce to bring home with my leftovers. Bottom Line Up Front: Lovely establishment for great American food in the beautiful Libbie Mill area. The wings were the stars of my dinner. Definitely support if you are in the area. The restaurant is dimly lit and beautifully designed, with a nice ambiance. You would think it was an upscale place but the food is actually reasonably priced. We started out with 5 Korean Style wings and 5 Carolina Gold wings. My favorite were the Korean wings, I could have just had that and been happy. Cooked just right and were the perfect size. Great mix of a sweet and savory flavor. The Carolina gold wings had the perfect amount of heat to them. A friend ordered the Kensington Avenue salad which she enjoyed. This place is awful. Do not go. The servers are rude. The food is terrible. We had an appetizer with prosciutto that could not be cut. It was like a rubber tire. There is no atmosphere. Bad review for a good restaurant... BEWARE bad service... My friends and I stopped into Crafted for the first time on Saturday around 1:00pm. We called in advance and were told there were plenty of tables and there would be no wait. When we arrived we all noted the restaurant was not busy at all. We were seated at an outside table and the waitress, Ashley, brought us several beers to try. After ordering our food we began our wait. And we waited... And we waited... And we KEPT waiting... It was so bad we saw other patrons arrive, receive their food and leave before our server even returned to refill our water! Finally after 45 minutes I went into the restaurant to speak with a manager. Melanie came to speak with me. She was very short and clearly irritated I was bothering her. She explained there were two other large parties inside the restaurant that they were trying to accommodate and she had no control over how quickly our food came out. I mentioned that other tables did not have any trouble getting their orders! I asked why no one at least came to the table to apologize for the wait and there was no excuse given. She said she would do something to make it up to us on the check. I have worked in food service for over 10 years and know how a customer should be treated. I do not expect angels to come out of the kitchen but I do expect reasonable treatment! It was not until I mentioned to Ashley that I thought our order must have gotten lost that everybody stepped into high gear. When the food did finally arrive it was wonderful except for one. On the positive side: I got the Lady Bird and my two other friends got The Libbie Mill and the Cigar Man which were all delicious. My last friend got the veggie burger and it was completely burnt. This shows how the kitchen was in a rush to get our food out and couldn't wait for a properly cooked burger. We were so hungry by then she just ate it anyway. In the end when we received our bill 10% was taken off which amounted to about $1.00 each. At that point it was just embarrassing. Thanks a lot. I said something again to Ashley (who remained unpleasant) and she said she would speak to the manager again. She came back and told us that the meal would just be covered by the restaurant. I did not request that decision. I did not expect a free meal, just that our inconvenience would be recognized. To sum it up, the food seemed to be very good, however, the service was absolutely abysmal. If you go, bring a book to read and a snack because you'll be there awhile. *I note from other reviews that having a bad attitude towards customers is not new. read more

Went for a Saturday night dinner. Hostess was great and seated us right away. Our waitress Taylor took our drink order, returned and took our food order. Was informed the salad had iceberg lettuce. It doesn't. Ordered the meatloaf. It was the size of a slice of bread but drier. Some gravy or sauce would have made it better. Mashed potatoes were very good. They filled the rest of the plate with broccoli ( I can't comment on them because I didn't eat them ). Between being seated and finishing our meal we saw our waitress 3 times. Saw him 2x the whole time we were there. Took our order, someone else brought our food and drinks, he never came back to check on us, no refills for drinks or water. The ambiance is great... dimly lit, which makes it seem expensive, but very reasonably priced. Bartenders are fantastic. Knowledgeable, friendly, & take pride in their cocktails, as well as the unbelievable craft beer list. If you're looking to try great craft beer you can't get anywhere else... this is the spot! I had made reservations and we were lucky enough to get an outside table. Shea was our server and she was very attentive and quick to answer our questions. Our Brussels sprouts - highly recommend - came out quickly. I ordered the Alabama chicken and my son ordered the Nashville style. Both were very flavorful and the fries had lots of salt. A perfect spot for a girls night dinner! Our waitress, Ellie, was fun & took great care of the table. I started with the "Karen Got Smashed" cocktail which was so tasty my friend tried one sip and had to get her own. As a table, we started with the Southern Sampler and it was a hit. The house pickles were especially spicy & delicious! For my main, I decided to get the oysters. How can you beat a dozen for 12 dollars?! They hit the spot but were admittedly fried a little too hard & a bit too peppery. Both friends who got burgers were very happy, and we sampled some sides as well. While the mac and cheese did not look the best, it ended up being quite good, however, the collard greens were strangely sweet and received mixed reviews. Lastly, we shared the bread pudding. While I enjoyed it, my friend, who considers herself a bit of a bread pudding connoisseur, said it was too mushy and too sugary. First time visiting the area found it based upon the Yelp reviews. I called the person who answered was very pleasant. Found the location its very nice shopping area- quaint little place. We arrived at 11:43...waiter (Andy) greeted us at 11:47. He come with water, as I'm asking if he could bring lemon he walks away to another table in the midst of me speaking. I got the attention of two other ladies who were cleaning the table next to me I asked her for lemon, straw and question about a menu item. She came back with the straws and answered any questions before Andy our waiter returned with the lemon. I noticed young man well dressed who appears to be management. I later noticed another couple arrive and the manager spent a lot of time at there table which could of been his parents. They order and meal came out less than 10 minutes. Our food finally comes out (30 minutes later) the plate is warm but food is room temp, pancake tough, eggs cold & hard. I'm not pleased because Andy did not come to see if the food was ok, if we had everything we needed or if we wanted/ needed anything. The manager is now serving other tables an finally make his way to our table. We sent our plates back because the food was unsatisfactory. 12:16pm the replacement came out the couple next to us who arrive maybe 5-10 after us received there food at 12 noon. The lady express to us that she felt bad for us because they order after us but got served before we did. The second (12:22) time my food was great, pancake was nice size and it wasn't too thick, bacon was crisp, eggs were yellow an scrambled just right. Andy never brought the toast to the table, asked for hot sauce and mustard it came after asking twice an delivered by another waiter. We mentioned this all to Andy and he was very apologetic but never rectified the issue. Thank you Justin for taking care of our food. Andy thank you for remaining professional. Recommendation: 1) when your server has a large party send help so he/she does not neglect other customer tables 2) waiter familiarize yourself with the menu so if items comes with a meal make sure all items are serve 4) Ask if any condiments are needed 5) waiter when the order is being delivered to the table by your peers make sure your less than a minute to the table to assure all items are correct 6) Manager when ever visiting tables always acknowledged yourself by name not by I'm the owner. 7) The floors are nice but the tables rocks, balance them out so customer food not slanted or constantly rocking (very annoyed) I had to put a napkin to keep it from rocking The place is very nice, beautiful setup but the service needs improvement.
