While visiting from Florida Craft 31 came highly recommended from a local. Everything was delicious. I had the lamb burger which was amazing. We also enjoyed the cheese bread which could be a meal to itself. Portions are very generous. Craft 31 has a very nice drink menu with craft beers and adult milkshakes. Our server Katie was very attentive and helpful caring for our table and so friendly. We would highly recommend Craft 31!!!! read more

Had reservations for 6:30 with another couple that was visiting from Ohio. We arrived 10 minutes early and was seated promptly. That's where the good service ended. Our order was taken at 7:05 and at 8:00 we were still asking about our order. When our food finally came it was terrible. Crab cakes cold, chicken sandwich cold, medium burger that was way overcooked. I know things are not back to normal yet but making your customers suffer for whatever reason is not acceptable. Never again!!! No less than 3 hours later after this post we were contacted by Jessica from their marketing department and she extended her apology and the staff for the problems of that evening. Because of the call from her we will try Craft31 again. Thank you Jessica. read more

Burger and beer were good, pretty standard. Pizza had a soggy bottom. The true downside to our experience was that we had to wait almost an hour and a half for our food. We are in the area often and this was a disappointing experience. The ketchup bottle on the table was also covered with crusty sauce (clearly not thoroughly cleaning between each table) we could see other disgruntled patrons too concerning the wait times. read more

We had stopped going to Craft 31 because the quality of the food and the service had declined dramatically. BUT, we decided to give it another try after several months, and because of an article in Coastal Virginia magazine. We are SO glad we went back! We entered the restaurant and were warmly greeted by Caitlin, the hostess. She promptly seated us, and our waiter, Noah, came by shortly afterward. He also warmly greeted us, and asked if we wanted anything to drink. (Cold water was placed on our table when he greeted us.) My husband couldn't decide what he wanted, and Noah suggested a flight. He helped my husband with the choices for the flight, and I ordered my usual, an IPA. The drinks arrived, and Noah took our food orders. My husband ordered the Goat in the Garden pizza, and I ordered the Karen pizza. Both were the medium size (12"). The pizzas came out hot. Each was SO delicious, and well cooked. What a great taste sensation! Noah checked on us several times, and made sure every thing was as we wanted. The ambiance in the restaurant was very inviting, and we were quite impressed with our visit. It seems Craft 31 has turned it around, and we look forward to our next visit. read more

LOVED this place! It's super dog friendly so we brought our pup and he was welcomed. Service was outstanding and our waiter was very personable and friendly. The shrimp, pizza and mahi sandwich were delicious. They also have a margarita flight which is such a cool idea and it was so tasty! We will be back when e visit the Williamsburg area again. read more

It's OK, Beer assortment is OK, service with server of Gabby was very informative and yes she lives up to her name. Burgers were average, nothing special, meat description was the only difference. Flavorful, yet very skimpy on onions, (not complete slice) and a single cut square leaf of lettuce. Guess the management is trying to control costs! No condiments to really add, except ketchup. Shouldn't have to ask for additional condiments! If you sit next to a window enjoy the flies, (the live one's flying) as they will entertain you while you're waiting!! No extra charge for the entertainment of the flies, but very annoying, especially when they land on your dinner plate! Maybe management needs insect zappers? Avoid the sweet potato cross-cut fries and stick with their in-house chips, a.k.a. known as french fries! Best to check another place first before coming here. I doubt management will correct any problems or improve, since their reply was skimpy too! Almost Ghetto, the server Gabby, earned the extra star! STUPID FLIES!! read more

I heard good things about Craft 31 so my wife and I decided to give it a try on a Sat. when on the hunt for a good burger. The second I opened the front door I was hit with the dirty bar mat smell. Anyone who has worked in commercial restaurants knows what I'm talking about! Sat on the other side of the restaurant from the bar and could hear the bartender shouting cursing out loud after she dropped a glass, not a good start. Food took at least 20 minutes and it wasn't busy. I got the patty melt which was more bread than anything with scant toppings, my wife had the mahi but was so salty she had to wipe the marinade/sauce off. There were about 5 flies in the dining area, the dirty bar smell reads its ugly head again and the flies show maintenance and cleaning are not a priority. I don't like writing bad reviews, but I in all honesty do not know how Craft 31 gets good reviews. And then I just read the Owners response to a post about someone claiming they got sick there and now I know I'll never go back. Tip to Owner: defensive posts on review site refuting someone's illness does not paint a pretty picture whether someone actually got food poisoning or not. Unfortunately it's the world we live in now. Focus on cleaning your restaurant... read more

I dined here recently and wasn't too impressed. The food was just ok, nothing exceptional. I'm not sure what the hype was all about. The service was slow and the food also took a good 45-50 minutes to arrive when the restaurant was at about 70 percent capacity. read more

Great Restaurant. Really good ambiance, and servers / hostesses are very professional. Food took a little long to get out, but it was delicious. Most items on the menu were $$, but very reasonable with the quality and taste of the food! We will be returning. read more

Came at 5:30pm on a Sat night and it was really busy. We had a large party and booked our reservation well in advance. We were able to come right in and be seated. The decor is lovely and fitting for an oyster bar. We had one waitress for a table of ten and one drink menu. We tried to order drinks only to have the waitress tell us 10min later that they were out of two types of beer ordered. Took another 10min before we got drinks and then found out they were out of a third beer. I then ordered their diner burger with pink and it came out super raw. I had to send it back. They finished cooking it and it was fine. As expected. I also tried their parmesan truffle oil fries but they were super light on the parm and not very exciting or flavorful. Boyfriend got their restaurant week deal of soup of the day, a pizza, 2 beers and a dessert for $20. It was a great deal and the corn chowder soup was pretty good but the pizza was average, and the bread pudding a dry brick. I would maybe go back and try some seafood next time but i wasn't very impressed with a place calling itself Craft that is out of 3 beers at 5:30. read more

Craft 31 is a great restaurant! The food is very good. The brunch is very good! The best part if you don't want breakfast they let you order from the regular menu. The wait staff are really good and seem to always be happy to be there. Highly recommend this restaurant! read more

Fun spot here in the burg. Shout out to the GM, Neil for the table on a busy Friday night. The service and food were outstanding. We shared the pimento cheese for an app. It was creamy and delicious! I had the tuna poke and my homegirl had the "crunch burger". My dinner was perfectly seasoned and the wontons were perfectly crisp! The burger was super juicy and flavorful. We never had an empty glass in front of us, our server was on point! read more

Fresh Oysters, great bartenders and wait staff. Friendly, fun atmosphere. These guys have a winner here. We were a party of 6 visiting from out of town and really enjoyed the place. Stopped for dinner at the recommendation of one of the locals because of their extensive beer selection. And it definitely is an extensive list. The place is pretty large & decor is pleasant. We did not venture into the bar area. Wait staff was personable & attentive. I ordered a burger which came out cooked as ordered, always a plus. It came with home made chips that were good. Typical pub food at reasonable prices. I would definitely return. read more

We came here on a recommendation from a fellow beer drinker we met at Alewerks in Williamsburg and I'm glad we stopped in. As advertised they do have a great beer selection and I managed to take a picture of it. Located off of Route 199, it's a bit out of the way while vacationing in Williamsburg. That's not to say it's hard to get to, just that you are not likely to pass it while touring the town. This place is nicely laid out and pretty large. What's better than pizza or burgers with beer? I opted for a burger that was done as requested and very good. They have 31 taps of both local, regional, and US crafts and ciders. Couple that with a nice friendly waitress and decent food and you have a great combination. read more

This is a big improvement over The Cove, previously located on site. The restaurant is now owned by the owner of Opus 9 steakhouse and Bottoms Up Pizza in Richmond. The wait staff and bartenders, specifically Nick and Nick ( a husband and wife team), are very helpful and energetic. The thin crust pizza is cooked to perfection with fresh ingredients. Attention is paid to the prep, clearly, and the whole experience does not disappoint. I can't wow to try more things on the menu! read more

Service: We visited Sunday night around 6pm and were seated immediately. Our waitress was attentive and polite. Food came out very quickly! Decor: Atmosphere and decor was nice. The subway tiles around the raw bar, filament lights, and sliding barn door were welcomed additions among the many dated-decorated restaurants of Williamsburg. Tables are slightly too close together (seated in center room section) Food: We ordered the crab dip as a starter. It was tasty, a combination of crab, spinach, and artichoke served with warm pita triangles, but I was not overwhelmingly impressed. My boyfriend ordered the Virginia burger (burger topped with crab cake). I had the tuna poke. It was well-prepared, and the seaweed salad topping was delicious. I would've appreciated a bit more avocado, but no complaints otherwise! Overall: Pleasant experience! Will be back to try their brunch (eggs benedict look promising!) read more

We had friends staying at the nearby winery so we decided to meet up here for dinner. I had read the reviews and was very excited to checknit out. It was very easy to make reservations via their website. We arrived about 15 minutes early but we were still promptly seated which we greatly appreciated. The menu sounded great and had a good variety of options. We started with cocktails to include Manhattans, martinis, and beer. The drinks were just okay but the olives in the martini tasted weird. We ordered a selection of oysters on the half shell at the recommendation of our server. A different server brought them out and just plopped them on the table and walked away so we had no clue which oysters were which. We also got the crab dip which wasn't horrible bit nothing to write home about either. Two of us ordered burgers, the Irish Burger and one with bbq brisket. The burger patties were completely flavorless and could have used a good dose of salt and pepper. Even with the bbq brisket on mine it was still bland and my friend said the same of his burger. Other two people said there food just okay as well. The manager did stop to check how everything was though it was mind of abrupt. Overall I was just disappointed at how meh and just okay and meh our food and experience were after reading the reviews. This place is not inexpensive but the food and drinks were not worth $100+ tip for 2 people. Sadly we won't be returning. read more

Quite a delicious & memorable experience! I had the pleasure of eating at this restaurant numerous times over this past weekend as a friend not only had her wedding reception here, but we returned for a wedding party brunch and also a quiet dinner the following day. The staff is exceptionally friendly and professional (we had interactions with Josh, Jasmine, Kasey, Jeremy and Adam) and the food is outstanding regardless of what you order at any time of day! You will NOT be disappointed with this restaurant and are truly missing out on the exemplary service and lovely ambience if you have not been here yet. read more

This is our new favorite spot in the area! We went twice in one day while visiting from Texas! I was looking for something decent and not too heavy while out and about and found this place on Yelp. They have a nice patio with great staff, especially our server Steven. He knew the menu and was very attentive.. even when we came back for dinner and live music that night he remembered the type of wine we drank and our order.. the food was fantastic. We had a veggie pizza and 2 chaser salads for lunch.. we sat around and talked and truly enjoyed the atmosphere. The hostess was so nice and gave me recommendations since we discovered we had the same diet. Lots of locals were here as well as visitors. The guy playing acoustic guitar on the evening was great. Nice touch while eating and drinking. He came by to meet us and chit chat between sets. We will be back next time we are in the area! We just hope Steven is still there!!! read more

This is a rare 5* review for a place that messed up our order! We used to come here in person quite a bit. We love the smoked wings and the raw bar. During the pandemic, we like to support them as a local business and were never disappointed. One night, they messed up our order and gave us half of the smoked wings that we ordered. Totally understandable mistake. We called to have them just charge us for half (what we received), but they had someone drive the remaining part of our order to us which was incredibly considerate and above and beyond! We also recommend their chicken sandwich and the pizza! read more

I was not really impressed. I saw a lot if great reviews so decided to give it a try. The wings were disappointing- they barely had meat on them and they were not cheap. The burgers were ok. The best part was the pizza. They have a wide selection of beers. read more

I had the chili dog and cheese. It was pretty big - portions are good here. When I came through the front I grabbed a fireball candy ball / ordered a root beer float (Mug root beer) / tossed in the candy. The fireball elevates the float to another dimension of yummy. The group I was with ate al fresco and had a pleasant time (the garage doors were opened). I would recommend the chili and cheese dog and Mug root beer float (with fireball) to friends. read more

The chicken sandwich is they way to go!!! Incredible, my boyfriend and I loved it so much.

Stopped in after driving by and seeing a new restaurant had replaced Strawberry Cove. We're locals always up to try something new. I tried the build a burger with cheddar and avocado and traded my chips for fruit. Hubby had the brisket burger - and yes, they really do add a thick strip of brisket on top of the beef patty! Hubby tried 3 beers and really enjoyed the last two. All the food was awesome! We also had a cheesecake brownie sundae for dessert which was sinful! When we heard the same folks who operated or owned Opus 9 were in charge here, we worried the prices would be exorbitant, but it was very reasonable. Would definitely recommend and we'll be back! read more

Worst restaurant experience I had for several years. Went there for Thanksgiving dinner. I had Prime Rib and my wife had the Thanksgiving Turkey/dressing. Absolutely the pits, their "cranberry sauce was pure liquid, their au Jus tasted like beef broth. The turkey/giblets gravy had to be out of a can, and to top it off.. they didn't/don't serve any dinner rolls/bread whatsoever and everything arrived at the table room temperature. The prime rib itself was actually ok, even if not flavorful. Generously, i would rate the restaurant mediocre in quality.. and inordinately expensive given that poor food preparation quality. We should have gone to Cracker Barrel.. we would have received far better for 1/3rd the cost. read more

I keep going back for the food but each time a new issue. I am a local and want this location to be a go to on a regular basis but it's not! This experience on Saturday, August 13th was ridiculous! No wait but hostess was frazzled offering no eye contact and very short with her greeting. We decided for a seat at the bar. There were 4 associates behind the bar sometimes all at the same time. No ONE even welcomed us or spoke!! One started cutting limes, one starting washing glasses, one only pulled tickets and made drinks for tables and everyone else and the fourth not sure why they didn't help but seemed to be servicing exterior bar only. Ten minutes after watching customers on both sides of us being serviced we spoke up to a young gentlemen behind the bar taking a picture for a customer beside us. He then gave menus never offered drinks and that was it. We sat for another 15 minutes no water, no drinks, no service. How embarrassing for you! We decided to get up and leave disappointed. I don't suggest Craft 31 if you are looking for friendly service in the Williamsburg area, food is good, but comes with a wait. The competition is too high and there are many restaurants. I understand some are short staffed but no need for this type of failure!! read more

Found this cute restaurant on Yelp. Family friendly dining. Great food and great service with Douglas as our waitress. Highly recommended!!

We waited a long time for service. The server was sweet, but disappeared and we had to track her down. May have been the wait. The food was not to par with what I would expect from this establishment and nowhere near their sister restaurant, Opus-9, which has never disappointed in the many times we've dined there. read more

No stars, except I am forced by the app. Go for the beer, ignore those prices, some are pretty good, but none local. Never, ever get a burger. They are always dry and tasteless. I won't be back as they can't handle a normal supper rush, and I am not willing to risk another Jackson for a burger which can't even be saved with Hellman's Mayo. BTW no redemption, after 2nd visit. Any one of their vaunted burgers I can do better at home. Done and done. Fair warning. read more

Could be better for the price and the uppity servers. BUT...... it was good enough that we WILL go back. The staff can make you or break you. They just seemed rather stuffy and grumpy, like we were putting them out. But I liked the food. slightly above average. Update: What's nice is that Jessica Smith , director of marketing responded to my review. Professional, courteous. Invited us back . She cares about the customer and improving the service.
