While the food was good, the service left a lot to be desired. My friend and I ordered just burgers and fries for sides, no appetizers. Between us being seated and getting our food, it took over an hour for the food to arrive. Our waitress did come by once to let us know the kitchen was backed up and it was coming out soon but it was another 10-15 minutes after that before the food arrived. It was busy but our waitress only stopped by a few times. Others came to clear our plates and took them without saying anything to us, just took the plates and walked away. The manager stopped by and did take a percentage off the bill, which we appreciated and why I'm giving 3 stars, not 2. But we should have been out of there 30-40 minutes earlier than we were, since our order was only mains and didn't have appetizers or desserts. read more

We wanted to give a good review, because the outdoor patio can't be beat, but we simply can't. We had a simple meal and a simple drink order - Vodka and a splash of cran. The first drank came as ordered. It took 30 minutes to get a second drink and when it came it had something else mixed in. When we finally got the attention of the waitress she said "those bartenders sometimes hit two buttons on the mixer spout." We had to ask, well...could we get one that was correct? She said she had to talk to a manager. Some 15 minutes later, the manager brought new drinks. Those drinks were not correct either. So, when we finally could get the attention of the waitress again she said she told him what she wanted but he obviously didn't hear her. Instead of replacing it, the manager came to the table and wanted to know what was wrong. When we told him he pointed the finger at the waitress. We finally asked to just have the drink removed and to give us the check. That took another 15 minutes. Mistakes happen, but blaming each other doesn't solve the problem. Poor service. Poor management. Won't return. Many thanks for the thoughtful respn read more

After a long 9 hour drive to Williamsburg, we were looking for something quick and good and wow did we find it! We started with an appetizer of Tater Tot tacos - these things were incredible and could have made the entire meal by themselves. Everything was packaged individually so that when we got home - the taters weren't soggy - way to think of the customer! The burger was perfectly seasoned, the tots extra crispy and tons of cheese sauce. Really, really good. For the main course I got the pickle fried chicken - I have no idea what pickle fried means other than awesome :) As far as pub food goes, this was some of the best I've had. The place itself looks great and I'm looking forward to going back for dine in - there is a large selection of local beers and staff is super friendly. A great welcome to Williamsburg. read more

Tried this place out when we first moved here and never went back. It was mid-July, the AC was off, flies were buzzing everywhere and the next day I was incredibly sick and bloated with food poisoning. read more

It was a busier evening, but plenty of seats still available inside and out. However, the service was incredibly slow and subpar. Our drinks took quite some time and our food even longer. The food took about an hour. Within that time, our bartender did not come over to apologize or acknowledge the wait. She did not ask if we would like anything else while we wait. It was disheartening, because the vibe of the restaurant seems great overall and my burger was really delicious. The inattentive service was enough for us to probably not return. read more

We were in Williamsburg to get some hard to find fabric for my wife. Before returning to Va Beach, we wanted to get a burger. This place popped up on google search. It was only 4 miles from where we were so why not. From the moment you walk in, this is an impressive place. Awesome decor, and extremely friendly staff. Our wait person was spectacular (Leanna). Friendly, attentive and professional. She had someone shadowing her who was also excellent. Now to the food. I am a burger snob, lets say. The blackened blue cheese burger here is the best one Richmond to Va Beach. Hands down. The fries I had were the best I think I have ever had. I believe they were Parmesan truffle. WoW. Burger was cooked to perfection. A great crust on the outside, the first bite life changing. Because, all the juice is trapped inside and it is hotter than the surface of the sun. So beware. Every bite as good as the first. Anyhow, we will drive the hour or so from the Beach to this place again. It is that good. Only next time on the way home I will be slower, I got a speeding ticket this time. Grrrr!! read more

Lawraine is the BEST!!! She is so friendly and sweet, and made our experience here at Craft 31 so enjoyable! Thank you!!

Something stinks and it's not the food The location is good and parking is ample. If you're in a truck, expect to take two spaces. The restaurant is clean and I really like the decor. The menu's good and so far, no disappointments. Many craft beers on tap and a good selection of booze if you're looking for a cocktail after work. Today for Happy Hour (3-6p), the musician playing live was fantastic! The first time here, the service was great. The staff knew the menu well and made solid recommendations. But....today the service was marginal. With so many local brews on tap, I asked to taste one particular brew before ordering a $6.50 pint. I was told that they don't do samples but I could pay $1.50 for 3.5 oz. really??? So, I raised the issue wth the manager in a polite manner. Not a big deal or anything. But He looked at me as if I had a unicorn horn growing from my forehead and flatly stated that "if we did samples all day long, we'd lose money. We actually lose money on the 3.0 oz beers." How much will you lose if I walk out the door right now? Keep in mind, I asked for a taste to help decide, not a half pint. Having spent $120 in the last two visits (in the last 7 days), I wager he'll lose more than the cost of a 1 oz sample if I don't return again (and again). After the conversation with the manager, he proceeded to speak with the bartender (presumably about us) and we've had the cold shoulder ever since. Mind you, have ordered two beers, a cocktail, and a dozen raw oysters. So, I'll be the first to admit that this may be a one time incident and I'm certainly willing to try it again but ...in today's market where this place isn't exactly unique, you might want to consider another watering hole closer to home. Will update after the next visit. read more

We visited Craft 31 on Thanksgiving. There was much ado about making a reservation for a party of 7: we made our reservation more than a month in advance, yet they still insisted that 4:15 pm was the only time they could accommodate, and then when they called back to confirm our reservation, they insisted that we finish by 6:15 pm so they could seat the next group. On Thanksgiving itself, we arrived at 4:05 pm for a 4:15 pm reservation, and were seated at a table for six, despite having seven people in our party. There was a corner booth/table for 8 people available, and when we inquired if we could sit there instead, the host, Bobby, was argumentative, insisting that it wasn't possible due to the "all of the parties with reservations." This explanation made no sense given that we ALSO had a reservation and then the table sat empty for nearly an hour. When Bobby finally sat a group at that table, it was a party of three. Our table was cramped and was two four-top tables pushed together, but there was a height difference of a few inches between the tables, which meant that several plates had to be balanced between the misaligned tables. To her credit, Sam was a good waitress. However, the wait time to receive our meals was excessive. When the food finally arrived, it wasn't hot, and the quality of the individual dishes was unpredictable, ranging from very good to below average. The mashed potatoes also were not ready and arrived about 15 minutes after the rest of the food. While I appreciate that the restaurant was open on Thanksgiving, it seems like there were lots of challenges they hadn't planned for, which meant their responses were inadequate. Given this holiday experience, I'm not sure I'd recommend the restaurant or return at other times of the year, let alone again at Thanksgiving. read more

Fantastic experience. Excellent burgers and fresh seafood. Tuna Poke was so good. The staff was very friendly and the list of beer was extensive. They have a margarita flight that was awesome and they also have a beer flight if you have trouble making a decision. Will definitely be back if nothing else because they have an extensive menu to try (seafood, burgers, pizza). read more

We always enjoy this spot when we are visiting Williamsburg. It is in a nice location outside the hustle and bustle of the tourist areas. The food is always good - nothing fancy. I think I've sat inside, outside and at the bar. It does get busy but I don't remember if they take reservations. We've always just waited! read more

Decided based on the Yelp reviews to eat here on Father's Day with my wife and daughter. The inside decor was pleasant and bright, and we were immediately happy with our choice. Our meals took a while to be brought out to our table, but it was OK as our waitress was on top of getting us drinks. There were some sports on the TV but unless you were at the bar it was difficult to view the TV's. Our meals sounded great (I chose a pizza and my wife chose the brisket sandwich). We decided to split these because they both sounded good. The brisket sandwich had way too much sauce on it, but when you finally got to a piece of the brisket that was spared the sauce you could understand why they drowned the sandwich, the brisket had no flavor on its own. Add to that the brisket was quite fatty, this sandwich which seemed like a good deal now seemed over priced at $10.99. The wife did think the $1.75 add-on sweet potato waffle fries were good though. The pizza toppings had a good flavor, but the pizza base was not what either of us expected when we read the menu and it said "thin crust". It was about 1/4" thick, soft and soggy. It tasted like the frozen pizza crust beneath and Ellio's pizza. Again, seemed like a stretch to charge $14.00 for this pizza. The food was certainly edible, but not what we expected based on the 4 star reviews we were reading. read more

I have no complaints about this place. The only kind of weird thing is how fancy the inside of the restaurant feels, but it's really not a fancy restaurant. Besides that, the food is pretty awesome. My husband and our friend enjoyed their burgers they ordered and ohhhh man I loved the crab dip. Definitely something to try. I only ate (SOME OF) that for my meal; the portion is pretty huge. I also got the cobbler with ice cream for a dessert and it was the best I've ever eaten. One part of the restaurant is a nice sit down area, another part is a bar setting and the outside is enclosed by open windows, which is nice to feel like you're outside without being exposed to the elements. Service was great and drinks were always filled. Beware when it gets busy though! read more

SHAMEFUL Customer Service: I went to Craft 31 for dinner last week with 3 other senior ladies and a 23 year old daughter-in-law. The waitress accidentally dropped our tray of drinks at the table, bruising the hand of one of our ladies and embedding 2 shards of glass in the foot of another, causing her to bleed profusely. The manager said she would comp our second round of drinks, but when the bill came, nothing had been comped. At first, the manager said she had never promised to comp our drinks. Wrong. Then she changed her story and said that she couldn't comp our drinks because the second round beverages were more expensive than she expected. Seriously? The manager then called the owner. He agreed to comp the drinks but said we were to "vacate the property" immediately or they would call the police. Good grief. We were already leaving - what good could possibly come from threatening 4 senior ladies? I wrote the owner 4 days ago, but he has not responded so it is time to go public. Neither the owner nor the manager at Craft 31 has any understanding of customer service. Had the manager simply comped our first round and one $20 pizza, none of this would have happened. Had the owner replied to my letter, I would not be writing this review. I know one thing, we will never, ever go back to Craft 31. read more

Hamburger was overcooked. Our waitress was great. The noise was loud and very noticeable.

The "new owners" are being awful and not allowing the awesome bartenders to provide samples of the beer, so if we can't try it, why buy it? Once again I find myself wondering how this place is still in business. A friend and I had gone for a late lunch one day. A week or so back. They weren't busy however, our glasses had all kinds of stuff floating in our drinks. The chicken sandwich we both go was burnt. Way WAY over fried. I've eaten here off and on for the last 6 years and I have more bad things and I'm always left with a bad taste in my mouth about this restaurant. I'd definitely skip. read more

Terrible, terrible, terrible. First I ordered a peach margarita got a lime with no tequila taste to it, ordered wings, they came out with hair on them, third got pimento cheese and there was a rock or pebble in it. At that point I was done, requested a manager and left. Went there since googling top local restaurants in Williamsburg and this place came up. Maybe locals think it's great but this Richmonder had the worst experience and wouldn't recommend to anyone. read more

Attentive staff and good selection of entree's. Beer select seemed to have something for every taste.

We've visited Craft 31 twice and been pleased both times. Craft 31 has a good selection of beers (as you'd expect) and a pretty wide-ranging menu as well, but one that's kind of centered on pub grub. Hamburgers have been consistently good, likewise wings. A pleasant surprise was their Poke which my wife said was excellent. Only downside is the physical set up has the background noise at a kind of a dull roar most of the time so it's hard to have a relaxed conversation in the main dining room. read more

Always delicious. Great food! Amazing burgers and they have the thin crust style Bottoms Up Pizza crust, we prefer the hand tossed Bottoms Up crust that's thicker.. BUT!! this is also delicious. This is not the same Craft 31 that it was 2 years ago. Very disappointed. The cook does not know what he is doing. I ordered a burger that was supposed to be medium but came out and nearly scolded my mouth. It almost seems as if the burger was reheated in the microwave because the center was hotter than the outside. It was at least 300 degrees on the inside. His side salad had wilted lettuce. The "totchos" with BBQ pork had no BBQ flavor and the slaw on top was only shredded cabbage and carrots with no slaw dressing! It's so sad to see a place we loved so much turn into a place that we will never go back to. Don't waste your time or money here! read more

The good: Karen's pizza was exceptional. Great size for two and the toppings really came together. Tap list did not disappoint, was able to find a really good Deschutes IPA. The bad: service was pretty lacking. 1/2 oysters came out as a dozen, and our crab dip app came out after we'd finished our main course. The crab dip wasn't bad but I wouldn't order it again. It seemed like a spinach and artichoke dip with crab as an afterthought. The unacceptable: 1.5oz basils Haden manhattan for $17.50. I don't even know what to say about this one... Great drinks, great food, great service! Portions are big, so order accordingly or plan for taking some home.

The food was good but the wait was pretty ridiculous. I had a burger that was really good but the side order of tater tots (all 5 of them) could've been bigger for the cost. Others at the table had salads that looked pretty good. Beer was also good. Not a big fan of where we were sitting because it is a huge traffic area with people flying by continuously. I understand maximizing capacity but layout could've been better. Pricey but quality of food was good. read more
