Let me start by saying, I am a burger aficionado , I love fine dining but my favorite food will always be a good ol burger and I just found the best burger I have had in the area (and I'm from here!). Today was my time trying this place and mad I waited this long, I can't wait to bring other. The service was great from the moment I walked in, I learned about their cashier/front end manager immediately because I recognized him from another local restaurant. I met the owner and his wife and they were truly a pleasure to talk to. The store gave a great vibe from the open concept to the art on the wall. Plenty of seating without being too big. Now to the food....I had the Josie Sue burger and it was great! Yall, if you are into smash burgers and care about meat lace, patty thickness not being too thin or thick and the flavor of the patty, come on, it's all here. The bun was grilled, buttered and soft. The lettuce was crisp and the pickles were homemade. If I give them any critique it is to make the pickles slightly less tart. I honestly was shocked at the overall experience today. Everything was delicious from the tots to the smash fries, delicious. The fries are thin and crispy but still get the potato inside since they are cooked properly. The tots were crispy, salted but not greasy or overcooked like a lot of tots can be. Even got their homemade chocolate chip cookies with sea salt and they were a perfect finish. Next time I go I'm trying their chicken sandwich and loaded Nashville fries. Run, don't walk here. I can't wait to go back!

This was our first visit to Burgers on the Edge, but it won't be our last. We truly enjoyed our burgers and tots. The tots are fluffy and delicious, and they come in two sizes. Let's say: Large and Larger! The smaller of two is plenty for two people. They also offer shoestring type of fries. They have burgers and chicken sandwiches. We all opted for single patty burgers, though you order two patties: The OG, the Josie Sue, and the Mushroom Swiss. The patties are nicely seasoned with crispy edges. The buns are soft and fluffy, and the toppings are fresh. The Josie Sauce is like thousand Island, but not as sweet or messy. For dessert we purchased a salted chocolate chip cookie. Everything was delicious! Beverages are canned in coolers at the order station. They have typical and interesting sodas, as well as beer and wine. Once you order and select your drink (they also have a free water station), you select your seat and the staff bring your meal out when it's ready. Parking is free and available right out front. Burgers is in a kind of tired shopping strip. Look for the sign so you don't drive but. It's definitely worth the stop!

This causal eatery recently opened and we tried it out bc who doesn't like a good burger! Pluses: Great burger, tots cooked well (nice and crispy), nice customer service, cool wall art Negatives: No free water (get a little water stand) also had no cups to split a drink or ice. They did say they're going to be ordering some, so hopefully they do. Also the cook was a little heavy-handed on the salt. Great new local burger place!

So happy me and hubby decided to swing by this place. Such a hidden gem if you're in a mood for a burgers or chicken sandwich. They have many options and size as well. The decor was very modern what artwork on all walls. Hubby got the cowboy Burger( came with bacon, fried onions, cheddar cheese, shredded lettuce, barbecue sauce and pickled jalapenos). Hubby was very pleased he got the double instead of a single Patty. I went with jalapeno popping single Patty ( came with roasted garlic cream cheese, bacon, jalapeno and Duke mayo). My burger was so delicious came out hot and fresh the bacon was cooked perfectly they use potato buns. I was very pleased. For our side we got the Nashville fries ( top with fried chicken, pickles green onions). Fries with crispy and the chicken was so tender but still crispy as well. We really enjoy our meal and highly recommend this place. They even sell merch!

We stumbled upon this casual burger joint while visiting Williamsburg for thanksgiving and I would definitely call this a hidden gem! They offer a variety of signature burgers, chicken sandwiches, fries and tots. We ordered a double OG, single Josie Sue, and an order of fries to share. The burgers tasted AMAZING - we agreed that this is exactly what we mean when we say we want a smash burger. Soft toasted bun, smashed burger patty with slightly crisp edges, and delicious toppings that don't outshine the burger itself. Counter service was friendly and helpful, seating was plentiful. I hope this business sees much success so we can visit again in the future.

PSA- totally forgot to take pictures of the food because I was hungry... When you first walk in, the restaurant is clean, open and inviting. There is plenty of seating. The owner was the one who took our order- very friendly and kind. ( They also own Bald Guys Pies ). I had the OG Single burger- my friend had the OG double. These are smash burgers, and man do they smash them! My single burger was delicious but I think it was a little smashed too much. It was paper thin and the shredded lettuce was thicker and more than the meat. The double is the way to go. Another friend had the Cowboy burger and enjoy it as well. The burgers were delicious. I left one star out for the lack of meat for the patty due to how smashed it was. They have a "Josie" sauce... man that was yummy! The fries were seasoned perfectly and paired well with the Josie sauce on the side to dip. They have weird hours, so make sure you pay attention to when they are open. They bring the burgers to you after you order and sit down. The food was cooked to perfection and in a timely manner. I think we waited maybe 10 minutes to get all our food. 10/10. Would definitely go there again and WILL be back !

The menu also has so many food options, making it easy to find something for everyone. The food overall was great and very enjoyable. However, I would not recommend the brownie and chocolate sundae dessert. The brownie and cookie were cold and hard, which made the dessert disappointing. On the positive side, the carrot cake was huge and definitely worth sharing -- easily enough for 3-4 people. The service was excellent as well. Our waiter was very attentive throughout the meal and made sure everything was taken care of. Overall, Second Street American delivers great food variety, strong service, and a family-friendly atmosphere, with just a few misses on dessert.

Low and behold there is a Freddy's in Williamsburg, so we decided to take a little "part-of-the-day trip" to chrck it out. Upon entry, everyone working there greeted us and were super friendly. It was pretty busy in there, and i found the tables and chairs to be super close together and i felt a little claustrophobic. Maybe it was the abundance of the color red. The lady who took our order at the counter was very patient while we figured out the menu, which is mostly smash burgers in a variety of iterations, along with a variety of sides. I ordered a "single cheeseburger " with a side of shoestring fries. The cheeseburger is actually a smashburger that is practically a paper-thin "burger". It was very bland, to be honest. Their burgers, unless otherwise specified, come with pickles, mustard, and onions. The shoestring fries were awesome. Simple, not greasy. My husband got 2 Steakburger Tacos, which he said were "just okay". He also got a side of tots, which he found to be overly greasy. We couldn't leave without trying some of Freddy's Frozen custard. I had a small cone of vanilla, which if blind-taste-tested against McDonald's soft serve, i wouldn't have been able to tell the difference. Which is fine. We also got a chocolate malt shake, which was super good. Was it worth the drive? Meeeeehhh. The best things were the shoestring fries and the milkshake. Oh, they also serve Pepsi products. This is the first time that I have ever seen Pepsi Zero in a soda machine at a fast food restaurant. That was pretty cool. It's the little things. Would we go again? Unless there was a much closer location in RVA, probably not.

When we went in, we ordered our meal, but the cashier appeared to be befuddled, and we had to explainthe order to her slowly, several times. The restaurant is very clean; it looks like it's brand new. Once we received our meal, my wife did not get any lettuce on her burger that she specifically requested several times with the cashier. She questioned the cashier about the lettuce. What the cashier didn't know or didn't tell us was that there was no lettuce. I ended up having a Jalapeño Pepper Jack Burger, which wasn't bad, until I chomped down and found a large jalapeño stem in my sandwich. Anyhow, I'm sorry to give them a bad report because I do my best to give five stars. I will say the workers are all busy; nobody was slacking off. I just don't know why they had a hard time.
