In my previous reviews of Cracker Barrel, I have mentioned that it's a mixed bag for every visit and that your overall experience will depend greatly on the number of stars that your server has on its apron. Today, our server (Miranda G) had no stars on her apron, and the quality of our visit was reflective of that. It took a little longer than usual to get served once seated. It was very loud inside like it usually is. We received our drinks in a relatively short amount of time but I never received my lemons for my iced tea, which I asked for on two different occasions. My chicken fried steak had no gravy on it when it was brought out. Nobody at our table received drink refills. Food was warm and tasted good for the most part. The Coca-Cola fudge cake was dry and had no ice cream on the side. We had to ask twice for a to-go box. Overall, just a very poor experience! I understand it's not always this way but today was one of the poor days. read more

Stopped in late evening for desert and coffee after afternoon out shopping and walking at mall. We both had the double fudge chocolate cake. I had coffee and wife had caramel latte both were excellent. I was concerned that coffee might be old and bitter but was pleasantly surprised with a nice mellow non bitter hot coffee. Wife was very happy with quality of her caramel latte w whipped cream. We had a great server that was helpful and attentive. The selection was smaller than I expected with only 4 items on desert menu. Cake was moist and warm and chocolate icing tasted like grandma's home made icing ! My fiancé and I got the absolute most horrible worst service and food ever. I have never had a worse dining experience than this. Because the Cracker Barrel that I've been to in Owasso (multiple times) has always been super good, great service, so I wasn't expecting anything less from a Tulsa Cracker Barrel; well the issue with that, I guess I was wrong. 1. We got seated rather quickly, but we were in the middle of the restaurant which I absolutely hate because we also had a family of four behind us, and their kids were on my side and they kept throwing trash over their heads onto our table, and playing their iPad videos really really loud. 2. I'm facing the kitchen area my fiancé is facing me towards the front windows, our server we thought was nice at first, got with us quickly; but then he just kept talking to us and talking to us and talking to us and even said (my fiancé is Asian) he goes "oh, what type of Asian are you", and we both looked at each other, so puzzled and shocked at the same time because that's never been a question from a server before; and my fiancé goes "oh I'm Hmong" just trying to be nice thinking that he would shut up and he just kept talking and talking and he goes oh well I can speak Hmong I'm thinking "I've been with this man for a while and I still can't even understand or speak it" even his second generation mom has a hard time with it! The server says "I can also speak these languages- Chinese Mandarin, and Spanish" (For me personally Spanish is more believable) but he also said French, French is one of my languages, so first he starts saying mumbo-jumbo in what he believes he's saying in Hmong (my fiancé translated "you, high, and Joseph") then proceeds to say random things in French as well, like "C'est un bon pain, ça va"? (Translates to: that's a good bread and you?) and him and I both looked at each other and we were like that's definitely not Hmong... That's not Hmong at all all. Hardly French either. 3. My fiancé and I maybe talked to each other for a total of seven minutes. We were only there for 30 minutes our server came over and asked us what we needed every 2 minutes, and was just kind of rushing us. I'm facing the kitchen and I noticed that he's just staring at us the entire time which made me really uncomfortable. My fiancé said it was probably because we were dressed really nice in our 'fancy clothing' and probably thought we'd tip really well but it was way too suffocating. We just wanted to look nice once in a while for a day. 4. By the time our food comes out, It's just the saddest smallest portions of food and I have never known Cracker Barrel to be small with their portions before so that took me off guard. We ordered the special for that day and I also got a side thing of fried shrimp. Well he dropped my food all over me for one and then it took another 10 minutes for him to go put it back in the kitchen and have them remake it and we ate. I took one bite of my food and I said I'm not eating that and so I gave it to my fiancé to eat. I ate my fried shrimp. That was it. Our server comes over and he asks "can I get you guys the check" we've only been there for maybe 25 minutes at this point. So we both looked at each other kind of confused because it wasn't even busy. It was 12 PM on a Friday where most people are at work and he didn't even asked us if we wanted dessert or anything and I was totally ready to get a peach cobbler and so we just said OK yeah we're ready to go. 5. We go pay and we go about our day and then we go home and we're home for like an hour or two or whatever and my fiancé just starts throwing up so much. He had diarrhea, throwing up and it was coming out both ends. For 2 1/2 hours and then we went to sleep and then he was awake for another three hours and it continued, and it continued from Friday all the way up until that following Monday... MONDAY!!!! and then I ended up getting hit with the food poisoning the next afternoon Saturday, throwing up diarrhea all of the symptoms him and I both all of the symptoms and it never fully ended until that following Wednesday for both of us. He got hit with it maybe six hours after we ate at Cracker Barrel, because he ate most of the food; never again ruin the experience for me, but also on top of that when we called we called 5 times to get a hold of a manager and three out of the five times they answered and then put us on hold for 20-40min each and then the other times they just straight up hung up on us. 6. So then we ended up going back in person and the GM was trying really hard to get us to just take a gift card with the same fund amount with how much we paid for. We just wanted a refund because why would we go eat again at a place that gave us such horrible food poisoning, and a terrible experience all together. read more

This location is consistent with the other location I eat at. Great food! This location was overwhelmed with business when I went. This gave me plenty of time to shop The waitstaff was fun and friendly, but we had to wait an unusually long time for our food. I have no idea why. We have eaten at 4 different Cracker Barrels in 3 different states, other than the menu fluctuating often the service is pretty much the same. I'm not sure what has happened at Cracker Barrel in the last few years, but we ate there Saturday, June 8. I'm not sure how you can call it Chicken Pot Pie, when there was not a single piece of chicken in the mixture, it was 90 % gravy, about 3 pieces of potato and a few carrots, and a scattering of peas. My husband came to the rescue and gave me one of his chicken breasts which when cut up fixed up my chickenless pot pie. The crust although made from puff pastry was flat and not very flaky, I recommend you choose something else on the menu. My husband had their chicken breast that had a spicy seasoning and he asked for it without the seasoning, and he had beautifully grilled chicken breasts. This restaurant definitely needs an update to its personnel. The General Manager is named Jennifer and she is hateful to some of the waitresses. She has been overheard berating some of the staff and overly friendly to others. The cook is sometimes too slow in getting orders out. We have waited over 25 minutes one time to get our food. Another couple who came in after us ordered after us and got their food and finished eating and was leaving before we finally got our food. This was in November. My wife and I along with our adult son, stopped at Cracker Barrel Restaurant in Tulsa last Friday as we usually do every other week. Both my wife and son favorite dish are their Chicken & Dumplings. I do not care for their menu, so I always order their "Bowl of Pinto beans." When we were served, we immediately noticed my wife and son's meal were all served in a bowl as it usually is. My son's and wife's dish should have never left the kitchen. My son's bowl had only a half the portion of chicken and dumplings because his side of macaroni and other side of corn, were all jammed into the same bowl. The corn was never drained when plated and all the liquid ran into the entrée and the macaroni & cheese was inedible. I called the manager over and asked him why this was served like this, and he lied and said it's always served that way. I told him we have been coming into his restaurant over 3 years, and at other Cracker Barrel restaurants over 30 years in other states where we have lived and traveled. He then changed his story and blamed it on the corporate office and said they ordered to start serving it this way. After starting in the restaurant business at 13 years old, and then spending 45 years in the food service business selling food, ingredients & supplies to restaurants, both independent and national chains, I had a hard time believing any successful restaurant chain such as Cracker Barrel, would forget one of the most important things, which is people first eat with their eyes, and secondly, excellent food and value bring them back. Was this a case of "shrinkflation" to save money? They both said they had half the portion they normally get. Of course, they did, as the other half was filled with soggy corn and diluted inedible macaroni & cheese. At a time with inflation and food prices hurting millions, especially seniors who sometimes share plates with the spouse to save money, don't cut our portions and by doings this, ruin our meal. Ive been to this location a handful of times, but my last visit is the first time I've felt compelled to actually write a review. Veronica was our waitress and she was absolutely fantastic! Super friendly and talkative. She felt like someone I've know all my life she was that comfortable and welcoming to be around. Ordered pancakes for my son (toddler) and my cousin and I ordered food for ourselves. Veronica put in the order for my son's pancake first, and brought that out before our food so that way we could feed him and keep him happy. She kept our drinks full and checked on us fairly often. The food was good. No complaints there. No complaints on the prices. We didn't have a wait that day. And most days I've been, there hasn't been much of a wait - if any wait at all. Veronica wasn't sure about putting in an order for 2 pancakes for my son, so we agreed to start with one. If he was still hungry, she said she'd bring him another. Well, he went thru 1 pancake pretty fast but she never came by to see about putting in for the 2nd pancake. I wasn't too pressed about it though because I had enough French Toast from my order to share with him - plus eggs and turkey sausage. I think she probably just got caught up in her other tables, so no strike against her on that. The 3 of us left happy and full. I thought Cracker Barrel was known for his hospitality and good food, but I just had to walk out feeling hurt, hungry, and extremely unwelcome! The Waitress never came to take my drink or food order after 10 mins of being ignored by other waitresses, I finally flagged down a waitress that told me it wasn't her table but she'd tell the manager. The Manager came he took my order and sent my actual waitress over. When I asked her if she was my waitress, Karly (name on the apron- she never introduced herself. said technically. 30 mins and a cold cup of coffee later my order of (eggs/grits/bacon) still hadn't come. Karly walks by the table and in mid stride says my food will be out. Period! No time frame or offer of more coffee, apology for the wait- I called the manager over again and stated the service was unacceptable and he agreed and "understood" when I told him that i just wanted to pay for the coffee and the service had caused me to lose my appetite and I was leaving. He basically said have a good day- try Cracker Barrel again- without rectifying the poor non-existent service. Wow!!! Fat chance that I'll ever be back and will take the opportunity every chance I get to tell of this atrocious experience.
