Cracker Barrel has been slacking here lately in the quality and taste of the food. It has been a while since I've been in but decided to grab some veggies as a late lunch. I'm glad I did. I got a plate with Mac & cheese , turnip greens, mashed potatoes & brown gravy, sliced tomatoes, and cornbread........great flavor. I also tried the breakfast potatoes and they are so good!! I was shocked. The service here is always top notch from Maggie and the place is always clean. If you haven't tried Cracker Barrel in a while give this location a whirl.....you will bee glad you did! Super slow service, one cook and they don't know how to cook. Went this morning and used to love this Cracker Barrel. They had plenty of servers but apparently no cooks. The country ham was tough as leather, the fried apples had a chemical taste, and the cook doesn't know an over easy egg from extremely well done (see photo). The only thing edible were the biscuits and gravy and they tried to short us one gravy on two orders that both had gravy on the menu. Reliable Comfort Foods and Tea Food is decent here. I like Cracker Barrels and visit them often on trips. This one is close to home. Mama's breakfast is my son's favorite go to. Usually have a decent time here but today was the absolute worst. We had some crackhead looking waitress who definitely isn't built to be a waitress. She was a C.U.N.T. with the worst attitude. She also blamed that on us, the fact she was "ringing in our order", just kept making excuses on why she didn't give us straws then still never brought them. Had to get up and get another waitress to get boxes and our check because she was no where to be found. Talked to the manager about it (so did 2 other tables next to us about the same waitress because she continuously messed everything up) and they ended up sending her dumbass home. Cracker Barrel is always a road trip staple and typically one of your most consistent restaurants. Love that I can order a wonderful southern meal and know exactly what to expect. Also, love being able to shop around and find unique gifts here as well. Recently tried the Buffalo chicken Mac and cheese and it was pretty tasty. Can't go wrong with really anything on the menu. I went there this last Thursday Oct. 17, 2024 around 6:00pm. They was pretty busy as usual around that time. However, we was able to get a table right away. We ordered just Ice water to drink as we usually do. My wife ordered a grilled chicken salad and informed the waitress that she had to be Gluten Free so no croutons. When her salad came out, they had croutons, but the manager took care of it right away. I had ordered the Fried Catfish that was supposed to be one fish and two sides, but gave me two pieces of fish, It was supposed be the $11.49 but charged me the other price. I wasn't complaining. The catfish was fried perfectly and tasted awesome. Not to overly salted either. I also got the steak fries and the corn as my sides. The corn was the best I tasted. It came out hot and buttery filled with flavor. The steak fries was crisp, not over cooked and just the amount of salt to where I didn't need to add to it. The service was over all pretty good. Normally I wouldn't expect too much as of late with any Cracker Barrell as we had several issues with service. But, this visit made up for it. I was very impressed. You have earned the right for me to give you guys another try as there aren't many places with a good selection of Gluten Free items as my wife has celiac disease.. The only other thing that was noteworthy is that the atmosphere was great and inviting. It was a little chilly though because they didn't have the fireplace wasn't lit. My wife and I had breakfast here. We were placed at a table quickly. Our waitress was nice and had a wonderful smile. That is about the peak of our experience. They charge extra to have hash brown without cheese. The wife's eggs were not cooked properly. It was not busy, but it seemed to take too long to get our food. We had to ask for spoons, after I stirred my coffee with a fork. The floor needed sweeping. All in all, I would recommend the Waffle House across the street if you are in the area and want breakfast. read more

This is the worst Cracker Barrel I have ever eaten at. Our server was great but the food...terrable. I ordered a grilled chicken salad. All the lettuce was yellow, white and some brown. NO GREEN. Crouton were chewey but too tough to chew. I ask for another menu item. Meat loaf, Hashbrown casserole and slaw. Meatloaf was about 1/2" thick, top was burnt and couldn't be eaten. I reported it to the manager when I went up to pay and his excuse was we probably got some bad lettuce. Never offered to comp the meal. My granddaughter got a baked potato and bacon $3.69 for 3 pieces and it was so overcooked she couldn't get hardly any of the potato spooned out. Bacon tastes left over from breakfast. Stopped in on a Saturday and the first thing that got me was the musty smell in the store. We walked up, got on the list, and continued to shop and realized I wasn't the only one voicing the smell. Food was really slow coming out. Biscuits were undercooked, gravy was watery. But the worst part was the take home meals. We bought 2 meatloaf and macaroni and cheese meals to take home, $5 each. Very small portions, not unexpected for the price. However, both meals smelled rancid. Label said to use within 2 days. We used them the same day. However, there is no indication on the packages when they were made. Could have been a week ago for all we know. Both smelled odd, but my husband heated his. Then it smelled absolutely awful! The waiter was very friendly and efficient, and even though there were seven people in total, the food came out in 30 minutes. Cracker Barrel--what happened? Should have left as soon as we were sat. The host took us to a table with visible debris underneath. My wife wanted pintos so we stayed. Guess what they were out of--pintos of course. Yes, pintos--the first menu item Cracker Barrel ever offered. Again we should have ran but being gluttons for punishment, we stayed. My apple cider chicken arrived missing the apple chutney. Our server did not notice and when I asked about it she hurried back to the kitchen. Upon her return she said "I am so sorry, they ran out." I guess nobody thought to ask if I still wanted the dish. The silverware was atrocious--the worst I ever saw. How did the person rolling the silverware not see it? The biscuits were cold (not even slightly warm) and hard--worse than my own. Very disappointed and I used to work for Cracker Barrel. When served , I thought the bacon must have been ham and could not tell it was actually raw bacon mixed in with the other toppings. Me and my wife had dinner there on Tuesday 9/1/2023. We ordered our drinks then our food at the same time cause we knew what we wanted at the time. We both had the Beans and Greens with two small extra sides each both ordered the cornbread muffins and chow chow asked for pepper juice for the greens and never got it. The cornbread was ice cold and the food was also cold. When the food came to the table it was not we expected. The beans and greens were the small side orders you get with your larger menu items. The bill came to the table and for what we had to pay for what we received I felt that we got ripped off. I've thought about this alot in the last 12 hours or so. My rating can't be more than a 3 because even though we had a good server, my fried Chicken was way overcooked. The coating was like a dark rust color, not a beautiful golden brown. It was also a tough coating and skin that lead me to think either it's been overcooked or left under the heat lamp a very long time. I even had the thought maybe the sale of fried chicken was slow and this was left over from many hours ago. The meat beyond the coating was nothing special and a bit dry. With that being said my corn was good and the fried okra a bit undercooked. It didn't have that nice crunch as you bite into the breading like you would have expected. The biscuits were good, but my fiance ordered cornbread muffins that never came even after the first time the server said they would be out in 10 mins. The next check on them was quite a while later, 10 mins or so and they still had 7 mins left to bake. How did that happen? Did they forget to bring us some when the last batch baked? I notice a manager, I assume, in a blue button down hovering at the kitchen. You would think with him hovering like that he would not have let fried chicken go out like that. Anyway ... It's Sunday morning, March 26, 2023, and we have been here since 10:05 am. It's now 11:10 and still no food. Unfortunately this restaurant has been hit with being short staffed just like the rest of the food industry. So basically, if you have time to kill and don't mind waiting, this is the place for you. If are in a hurry, Waffle House is your better choice. I'm not going to point out that the table literally across from us sat down 5 minutes after us and has their food already and is about to leave. Normally my Cracker Barrel experiences are very good, however this one wasn't. I had placed a call in order on a busy night and was told it would be ready at a particular time. I arrived then only to find the lobby full of people also waiting on carry outs. I waited over 45 additional minutes at which time I asked for a manager. When he finally came he seemed pretty nonplus that I was upset. He just blew if off that they were very busy that night and that was it. Many others in the lobby waiting were also upset and some had been there longer than me. Overall this was perhaps my worst Cracker Barrel experience ever due to the service.
