Apple crumble pie

Service: I ordered food to go in the mobile app and it was easy to do. The food was ready as scheduled. The to-go cashier wasn't welcoming, not rude either, but just not friendly. It was 7:45 PM so maybe she was just tired from a long day of work. Food: The catfish, green beans, and macaroni and cheese were all yummy. But my favorite item was the apple crumble pie. Omg it was good! I always forget to take pic of my food but I stopped after a couple bites to get one of the pie. it was so good that I wanted to make sure to include it in my review.

Not impressed at all..

We orders the chicken pot pie. It was not good! The food use to be so much better. Want order here again.

Chicken Tender Platter

We've tried this Cracker Barrel a few times before, but this experience was just too good not to post about. You can never go wrong with Cracker Barrel on a cold and rainy evening, between the fire and cutest country store, it's the coziest place for the season. We were seated super fast, but I forgot to ask to sit closer to the fire (because why not right?). Our waiter Erik was phenomenal! He was kind, quick, and very accommodating. We asked if we could move to a table closer to the fire and he delivered! The food was pretty much perfect! We got the Homestyle Chicken and French Toast plate, and the Chicken Tender platter with fries, dumplings, and fried apples. Let's just say we had no leftovers to take home! We were brought biscuits and cornbread (which were very good), and our waters and coffee were kept full the entire meal. If you're wanting Cracker Barrel remotely close to the Waco area, make it this location, you won't be disappointed!

Thanksgiving meal from Cracker Barrel.

We ordered 2 thanksgiving dinners because we were both down with the flu. I usually like Cracker Barrel meals but this was pretty awful. We got a tiny piece of dry turkey, a scoop of terrible dressing, a tasteless serving of plain green beans and a little sweet potato mush. We had a tiny side cup of canned cranberry sauce and a yeast roll. This also included a decent sized slice of pumpkin pie but it was so bad, we threw it out. I hoped it would be decent since it was Thanksgiving but I was sadly disappointed with Cracker Barrel. Kudos to their hard working staff though, they pushed out a lot of meals today just wish the food was better.

Ate half of my huge burger... this time tried the lipsmacker burger of the month. Great flavors. With the onions, pickles and fries and bacon. And the sauce. Can't wait to have the other half of my burger for the next day. The side of fries were good. But I would get the sweet potatoes next time or try their other sides. Great local bar. Very low key early dinner for us. Prefect spot to chill out.

We sat in the corner where he could quietly play with his cars on the ground, happily entertained so we could enjoy a meal out. The food was delicious, best chocolate milkshake I've had like ever! I will probably be back just for that milkshake lol. I had a Philly cheesesteak, it wasn't the greatest I've had in my life but still good. My husband had a burger that he said was great. Our son had a corn dog and fries. I was so surprised that the corn dog wasn't just a frozen one! His corn dog tasted like it had been freshly deep fried! And the fries were delicious! Our waitress was so nice and polite, super quick too! Such a sweetheart. We will definitely be back, it's always nice finding a place to eat at that just works with having a toddler!

Always get the meatloaf with mash potatoes & brown gravy & the green beans. The dish has always come with a side salad and corn bread. Last the meatloaf had 3 slices (use to get 4) and the potatoes was a child size portion. The plate was overloaded with the fried onions. The potatoes had no taste to them & the meatloaf used to be alittle more seasoned with great flavor. The food came fast. Asked the server about the salad & corn bread and apparently now you have to request what what you are already paying for. I usually always request the salad in a togo box at order for lunch the next day, but was distracted was my granddaughter was with us. Service was good.

Server was highly engaged, she made sure to stand in front of me providing eye contact when communicating. Sunday order was the Meatloaf with brown gravy sides mashed potato and onion rings with salad and muffin. Meatloaf and brown gravy tasted like it had been made early in the week, and was cold / congealed and had an unpleasant texture. Onion rings were hot and fresh. Server had to be reminded to bring the cornbread muffin and utensils. Server was pleasant but seemed distracted. As for my dinning partners, the had they Reuben that was generous with meat, and a Breakfast spread of Eggs, Blueberry Pancakes, and Pattie Sausage that looked good. It's a nice space, with Black Bear decorations, and memorabilia, but I would stick to food items that need to be freshly made and avoid selections typically found at a carving station.

Ever since leaving and moving to Austin area, I've longed for my gumbo, crawfish and even down home red beans and rice. Well, until now!! We just randomly decided on seafood while in Waco, and lemme tell yall. This place will not disappoint!! I had a bowl of probably the top 10 best I've ever had!! (Sorry mom), and also the red beans and ohhhh my lawd!!!! The atmosphere when you walked in let you know this was gonna be a good meal. The decor, and even almost entire wall with prices and the daily specials written on it. The waitress tried to tell us about it, and I'm pretty sure the wife was paying attention, but I already had my stomach setting up to receive gumbo. Multiple waitstaff stopped by to check on us throughout the meal, and all were very friendly! Serving sizes to make you loosen a belt notch to be able to breathe!! Wife had the fish and chips and couldn't eat the fries! That all said, I also found out that gumbo and beans and rice were made from scratch DAILY, and not that prepared stuff you get at some places!! Stop and be ready to Laissez les bons temps rouler!!

The staff are always friendly and the food here is amazing!! We came back last Friday to celebrate my birthday. I was so happy to find out that they now take reservations using the Open Table app. It was super easy to use and I booked my reservation a few weeks prior to getting into Waco. We were greeted by the friendly hostess who seated us promptly since we had reservations. Our waiter was very friendly and attentive. I ordered the breakfast sandwich and my husband ordered the farm breakfast. We ordered the kids breakfast for our 3 year old which came with pancakes, scrambled eggs and bacon. We also ordered a side of biscuits with strawberry jam. We got our food hot and made fresh to order. The croissant sandwich was filling and delicious. The croissant was super fluffy and light. Everything was perfect!!! Our son told us that he loved his pancakes. Our waiter came by frequently to check on us and make sure everything was made to our liking. 10/10 recommend for their high quality service and food. We will be sure to continue to keep coming back again and again whenever we're in Waco.
