It's been a while since I have been to Cracker Barrel. I met a friend there for breakfast and it did not disappoint. I got there a little early so I could look around in their shop. So many things to look at! The decor is like an old country store. I like they have kept it the same for all these years. We were seated right away - Service was great. The menu is plentiful! So much to choose from. I'm not a big eater so I went with the kids meal pancakes. I love how they make them. Nice and fluffy yet a crispy edge. You can eat them without syrup! Their bacon is likely the best bacon I have had. Thick and crispy and oh so good. If you have a chance to go to the Cracker Barrel give them a try. You will enjoy! And do some shopping while you are there. read more

I always enjoy going into Cracker Barrel. They have so many neat things to look at and purchase, besides food. However, on my last visit, I ordered takeout. They told me it would be about 20 minutes and it was more like 45 minutes for the wait. I had my 81-year-old Uncle in the car and thank goodness I had A/C! Our food was pretty good and well seasoned. However, despite my Uncle getting a well done steak, it was a little on the hard to chew side. I like Cracker Barrel, so I will definitely be back. But, I don't think I'll ever order for pick up unless I have an hour to kill. read more

We've never had a bad experience at this location. I'm not sure why the rating is so low. The staff have always been friendly and helpful. The restaurant looks just like all the others as far as size and shopping area but this one has always been clean and well appointed. They do have new banquet seating which would be great for large parties. And our food always comes out hot and as we had ordered it. I will say this last visit our cornbread muffins were a bit on the "done" side, but we had so much food we didn't miss not eating them. read more

Typical Cracker Barrel Chain vibe and decor. This one is slightly missing the mark. We ordered the cinnamon buns and the waitress came back and told us they were out. My guest was disappointed so she offered a piece of cinnamon pie but then came back 10 minutes later to say they were out of that also. There were no other options. It was Saturday morning around 10 am. The cheese on one of the dishes was cold. I had the Hashbrown Egg Skillet and it was good but the other plates didn't look as good as mine. Another strange thing was the items in the store, it looked like the exact same stuff they had last year. Nothing new, and that's was a first. Usually I can't leave without buying something but there wasn't a good selection at this one. read more

We've been coming to this location since the week they opened. We've always gotten consistently good food and service. Today was no exception. The newly remodeled dining room is bright and spacious. The place appears clean. They display a 95.5 sanitation grade. The restrooms were clean. The store is tidy. The service was fantastic. Our server made sure we didn't want for anything. Our water glasses never ran dry. I ordered the grilled trout. It was really good. I got pintos and grits as my sides. Our server brought me some chopped onions for my pinto beans. My wife got an egg sandwich. It was all good. We checked out the store before we left. They had some sales on Summer decor. read more

The wait is too long and it's not even the wait to be seated I'm talking over an hour for food even when they aren't busy. The food quality has gone down also. I normally don't write negative reviews, but I feel I need to share my experience. I visited CB today, 9/23, around 12:30 with my three young grandchildren. Even though the restaurant was not busy, the service was extremely slow, and the kids were very hungry. When our food finally arrived, 3 out of 4 orders were incorrect, which meant even more waiting. My blueberry pancakes were overcooked, my eggs were cold, and the sausage was inedible. Overall, it felt like the staff were moving in slow motion, with no sense of urgency. Unfortunately, this visit was very disappointing, and I will not be returning to this location. read more

The food: Shimp, fries, and hush puppies. 1st I got 1 small hush puppy. I ask for a biscuits, they where so hard and old the butter knife didn't want to cut them. My server was ok except when I said something about the food she looked and me and walked off. Very quite in here tonight. It takes you 30 to 45 minutes to order a pick up order there website sucks it never works. You go to pick up your order after driving 20 minutes to get there and have to wait another 45 minutes to an hour to get your food. You get home and your always missing something. Usually missing something that they charge extra for. The last time my baked sweet potatoe was dried out and over cooked and my chicken wasn't cooked all the way the worst meal ever and we had no butter or jelly for our cold biscuits and no silverware. read more

We decided to give CB another shot (we used to go often) as we heard of the improvement attempts; they need to keep on trying. It was shortly after 2 on a Sunday. We avoided most of the church crowd. We were given the option to wait or be seated at the "community table" with a set of couples at one end. A bit weird but if that was the worst that happened, I wouldn't be writing. Summary: -We waited over a half-hour for our food! (The foursome at the other end of the table waited even longer as they were seated before us) -My meatloaf, though plentiful, was tepid at best -My chicken didn't come out at first, when it did, it was very hot but under cooked -My daughter's eggs were not prepared as requested -My wife's beef tips were burnt; she ate what she could -We received no rolls (until I asked toward the end of the meal) and they were slightly under done -We had to ask a random server for ketchup -We didn't receive the $5 take home meal as requested when ordering (it was not on the bill) -Didn't get a drink refill until my meal was over -About every 10 minutes the hostess, or some staff member, would come into the dining room, stand in front of the fireplace, near our table, with a tablet, and conduct, what appeared to be a headcount. That became annoying -The icing on the cake: when the four-star cashier asked was everything good, I said no, not really and began to rattle off the above list. He continued to ring us up, paying little to no attention to what I was saying. He asked would I like to speak with a manager and said no, you have my list, do with it as you please. I love the ambiance here, after a long drive. It's worth a turn off of I-85, and relax to a cozy dinner. Daily & seasonal dishes available, among many. The service is friendly and attentive. The prices are reasonable for a party of 1-8. A breath of fresh air instead of fast food, as it's good food fast! read more

One of the worst meals in recent memory. We took our granddaughter and other family members out to lunch at a restaurant of her choice for her 17th birthday. She selected Cracker Barrel which was fine with me because I have always enjoyed meals there in the past. The place was packed, but our server was pleasant and professional. Given the crowd, the meals came out as soon as could be reasonably expected. I ordered the Tips, Tenders n' Shrimp Platter and was sorely disappointed when it arrived. The presentation looked nothing like the pictures on the website or menu. In fact, the presentation was generally unappetizing - especially the sirloin steak tips. The shrimp and chicken tenders were overly greasy, and the tartar sauce did little to improve the taste. The texture and taste of the sirloin steak tips reminded me of the chicken gizzards I was forced to eat as a child in rural South Carolina and the boiled pig intestines I ate in Vietnam as an advisor with the Montagnards. Other members of the family enjoyed their meals, and I said nothing at the table about mine. But, in the future, I will stick to burgers or a breakfast meal. To end on a positive note, we enjoyed the leftover biscuits the next morning with our breakfast at home. read more

My experience wasn't great and I was super disappointed. I don't like to give anyone below three stars but it was so bad that I'm hoping management will take a look. I ordered the hamburger steak and added gravy and onions. My sides were okra, pinto beans, and then I added mash potatoes. All off it was either overcooked or been sitting out a long time. I had to ask for extra gravy because the uncharge was so pathetic that I would have never forgiven myself for accepting that. I first discovered Cracker Barrel with my family about 30 years ago. We spent more than a decade eating at dozens of these. So I know me some Cracker Barrel history and I know what I expect every time. A few friends joined me for breakfast today, and while they offered the full day's menus, we all went for the breakfast items. First, let me tell you, exemplary service. We went about 0 seconds from registering to having a table. Our drink orders all came out right away. I asked for a refill without ice for my lemonade, and TWO came out. And when I finished those, TWO MORE. (Maybe it was because my one friend had some too, but that? Mwah. I finished plenty of it!) They brought out pre-meal biscuits. I asked if they gave up on cornbread, and right away, over came a plate of cornbread right over to me! I love CB CB (Cracker Barrel Corn Bread). Nothing's changed there. The meal: Item by item... I got the breakfast that was everything but pancakes, and then threw an extra pancake on my friend's kid's order so I could still have one. Pancakes feel a little smaller than earlier, and the syrup is no longer remotely maple, but my breakfast came with fried apples so I had the perfect way to top them. (The kid specifically got apples for a topping too. We know what's good.) I wasn't really interested in meat but my friend had my breakfast come with sugar ham, and that was very good. GIANT chunk of meat too. We actively wondered if the waitress heard me mention Yelp and realized they needed to impress me! Scrambled eggs were a little well done compared to what I'm used to here. Biscuits and gravy... surprisingly meh. Biscuits were a little small and overdone, the gravy was VERY set and thick. No liquidity at all, not what I'm used to with sawmill. The hashbrown casserole (made with meat apparently) tasted kinda cheesy, actually sorta like grated potatoes you might get with a dinner meal. Grits were grits, I used the remaining fried apple goo to sweeten them up just right. So, after all that, the verdict? Superb service, food is mostly back to CB standards, but yeah, a few things have changed. No more mugs! Super sad at that. I wish they'd have maple on hand even if they charged extra. Not even bottles anymore, just little plastic containers! So it felt a bit cheaper than the past, but on the other hand, they've held prices quite well compared to many places and the demand certainly is still there. If you still like Cracker Barrel or liked it in the past, this is absolutely a place you'll be happy. I'm amazed at the number of bad reviews I see for management given how great our experience was, so maybe they're finally stepping up in that area and we caught them as they got into the right mindset. I would return here anytime my friends asked (since I'm not local, can't comment further on that one!). read more

She also forgot to bring out our other side we ordered. Half our food was ice cold. Waited over an hour for food when the place wasn't busy at all. She barely came to our table with little volume in the restaurant, she spent most of the time hanging out in the back. We had to ask her for our refills. We needed 2, we held up 2 empty glasses and she only filled one, then walked away, purposely ignoring our other refill we needed when her container had plenty of tea for a refill. She said she would take off the sides they were out of off our bill and when we got the bill, she still charged us for them. The only positive I can say about Cracker Barrel is the general store. I have only ever visited one Cracker Barrel and it is this location. On both occasions I dined-in. The first time was several years ago so not much to comment on other than the food being mediocre at best. However, my visit in the past week was TERRIBLE. Our server was very scatter-brained. The food-wait was unreasonably long, even for a Sunday early afternoon, especially considering there were many empty tables and the parking lot was not packed by any means. When the food did arrive it was barely warm. Actually another server/kitchen personnel brought our food out. As she was unloading the plates, our server then rushed up tried unsuccessfully to grab it from her so apparently it had been sitting a bit before finally someone decided to bring it. We then realized that we did not have cutlery so had to flag down the hostess (which we realized should have been the one to place it on the tables upon seating us anyway) since our server was MIA for long bouts of time. On two occasions she said she would bring additional water and never did. On her second occasion of saying she would bring water, within minutes she returned without water to dismiss us by telling us to have a good day. My pancakes were bland and stale. I had asked for them to be topped with strawberries, but got strawberry syrup instead. The eggs were clearly NOT actual eggs. There were no condiments offered and server never returned until way later. My companion noticed that the eggs looked skimpy (supposedly 3) so asked about it and the server stated "it's supposed to be three", then offered to bring an additional serving yet never did. I ordered strawberry mimosas and the server advised us not to get strawberry flavored because two had already been sent back that morning by other patrons (not a good look). I honestly did not feel the quality of food nor the service was anywhere near worth it.... THE WORST! read more

Only giving a 1 star because I can't give a zero. We waited 45 minutes to be sat, ok no problem they were busy: we go sat & ordered & saw other ppl sit down & get served. We also saw tons of "to go" orders flying out of the door of the kitchens. Finally we asked about our food & got biscuits & waited 15 more minutes for the food. So a total of 50 minutes waiting after we ordered, while others were served. My sister's food was cold except the okra, the gravy was congealed it was so cold. My fish was like leather. We talked with the manager who said the fish isn't the "best choice" & offered another meal & comped our dinner. Not worth the wait, won't be back. read more

Sometimes a simple hiring of a cook or manager can ruin the reputation of a restaurant. The cook at this Cracker Barrel sent everything out burnt and we were told they're looked at by a manager. As you can see in the pictures my wife's Pancakes were burnt and so was everyone else's food. I had the Sampler and everything was burnt or severely overly cooked. Obviously, there is a major management problem and no control. They're One-Star pathetic. Go somewhere else, or they'll ruin your day. read more

Wow Cracker Barrel has really fallen off their game. Took forever to get our food. I think my eggs were quail eggs as I have never had chicken eggs so small. Sausage and bacon were not fresh. Pretty sure they had been reheated in the microwave because my plate was the only thing hot. Glassware smelled like it had been washed in dirty water. Really bad. read more
