Wow!!! if you ever need a catering company, this is the place to go to. The Smoke Pit did not disappoint at her daughter's wedding reception. Never have I been to a reception or banquet where food is talked about as much as it was this past weekend, everything was warm tasty the service was superb, friendly, and even gave us advice if we didn't want to retain the leftovers to be able to donate to the local fire or police department, which I think is fantastic. They really know how to do every aspect of food service and quality the best!

My most recent visit to The Smoke Pit was on a Thursday evening this past July. On a previous visit to the Concord/Charlotte area, we found this place when searching online for a good barbeque spot near our location. Luckily, we landed on The Smoke Pit, and now have a favorite restaurant to visit each time we are in the area. The restaurant is located on Concord Parkway, just a few minutes off of 85. It is in its own building that is half restaurant and half meat market, but all the same entity. There is plenty of parking in front and on the side of the building. However, it seems to fill up with all of the patrons coming and going! For the restaurant portion, there is indoor seating, as well as some outdoor tables. You will have no issue locating the place, as it is clearly marked with signage. We stopped here just after 5:00 PM, and it was fairly busy. The line to order was not too long, and there were several tables open for dine-in. However, the line continued to grow after we ordered with it being right at prime dinner time. There is a lot of signage to direct and instruct patrons, but in-person orders take place at the counter. After you enter on the left side of the building, you keep left to get into the ordering line. There is a menu with the items available all the time, and also advertised are any specials, sides of the day, or desserts. Once you reach the register, the staff takes your order and is able to answer any questions that you have. I have always found the staff to be both friendly and helpful on each of my visits to the restaurant. The selection is as expected - primarily barbeque. They have lots of different meats, including pork, chicken, sausage, ham, turkey, brisket, ribs, and more. Meats can be ordered by themselves, as part of a plate, combo, by the pound, or even in whole portions. They also have wings, sandwiches, sides, salads, desserts, and a kid's menu. Sides can be included in a plate, but also ordered in single, pint, or quart sizes as well. On this trip, we ordered our food to-go. We decided on a BBQ Combo with 2 Meats to split. For this, we ordered the Chicken Quarters and Pulled Pork. The combos come with two sides, for which we chose Baked Mac and Cheese and Deviled Egg Potato Salad. Texas Toast was our bread of choice. Additionally, we ordered a side of the Hashbrown Casserole, which was the side of the day. We also wanted to try the wings, so we ordered a 3-count of the Hickory Smoked Jumbo Chicken Wings in Southern Sweet, which also comes with celery, carrots, and ranch. Lastly, we ordered the Chicken Tenders and Fries Kid's Meal for our dog! I am not certain if they are made in-house, but there are several sauces to choose from. On the tables, there are bottles of Southern Sweet, Lexington Dip, South Carolina Mustard, and Sizzling Barbeque. The restaurant will also provide to-go cups for you to take sauce with your takeout orders. Even taken to-go, this barbeque is still some of the best. The Chicken Quarters and Pork were both flavorful and moist. We enjoyed all of the sides, but were not particularly blown away by the Hashbrown Casserole. The wings were great as well - no complaints there. Especially for the price, we got a ton of food. Even with sharing between two people, we had plenty to go around and some to take home with us. I thought the Kid's Meal was a very generous portion, especially for the price! The chicken and fries were both good, and it also came with a fountain drink/tea and a cookie. It would definitely be more than enough for any child to feel satisfied with their meal. Our dog loved it as well! Personally, I think the prices at this restaurant are very fair. Especially considering the quality and quantity of food provided at that price, it is hard to beat. As with any restaurant, there are some menu items that may not be the best deal at the price (I.e. some of the sides being $12 a quart), but particularly for the meats and combo meals this is not the case. I so wish The Smoke Pit was not a destination out of town for us! There is a reason this place is so popular and heavily-trafficked. The meat is great, the prices are very fair, and the staff are very friendly. It is a great experience whether you eat out or dine-in. I would highly recommend giving this place a try the next time you are in the area! P.S. If The Smoke Pit staff is reading this, you should put the Jalapeño Cheddar Grits as a permanent menu item...they are the best grits I have ever had!!!

I just moved here and lost weight the first week I settled in, but clearly now that I've discovered this place that's all going to change. I don't even have a job yet and should not be ordering food (although the price was reasonable honestly) but here we are. The ribs were literally falling off the bone (I sent a video to friends back home to make them jealous), the mac and cheese was the best I have EVER had in my 40 years on this early (the crispy parts throughout? stop it), the beans were so flavorful, and the potato salad was delicious and had just enough of everything without being overpowering. I don't love chunks of corn in my cornbread, however the flavor was great! This is where I'll be taking all of my out of town guests.

Traveling 1-85? This is worth the 3 mile ride off the interstate. Come here! But ONLY: A: if you are really hungry & want to experience phenomenal, authentic BBQ. Portions are huge! B. You understand good things are worth the wait. See a line out the door? STAY! It's fast. When we are roadtripping (multiple times a year from NY to southern states), eating authentic BBQ is a MISSION. Well, mission accomplished at the Smoke Pit. Quick google map search of area, almost every exit in area boasts an authentic local BBQ place. This one impressed by photos and reviews..so glad we chose here! Line was out the door. Outdoor & indoor Dining area. Can't sit until you order. No problem, as you eat & leave. No reason to hang. Get in, get fed (very well) and get out. We had pulled pork, pulled chicken and brisket with variety of sides. Order at counter, fill up your fountain soda and pick a table. Food brought to you. Very generous portions! And the food is so good you are moaning while you eat, and want to take the Lord's name in vain. That's how good it is! The best slices of brisket we have ever had! Thick, juicy and flavorful. Pulled pork and pulled chicken also so juicy! The variety of sauces made it even more enjoyable. Try them all and find your favorite. The sides shine as much as the meat! Rich, creamy mac & cheese. Corn bread and texas toast to die for. Pork baked beans thick, sweet and yummy! And the deviled egg potato salad waa delicious too. None of us could finish our lunches, and we opted for small platters. This place is legit! Service is fast and friendly! And the BBQ is the bomb!

Wings And collard greens Outstanding ! Very busy for a reason Highly recommend Busy but very well organized and ran. Clean restaurant

We are big fans of the Smoke Pit and it never disappoints. They are generally busy and it often appears there'll be no seats but only once have we had to take it to go, which was not a big deal. Service has always been friendly and fast. Decor is clean and typical of a bbq restaurant. The food is AMAZING! The best bbq around. We ordered 5 meals consisting of pulled pork, brisket, pulled chicken, sausage, Mac and cheese, fries, collards, bbq beans, collards, deviled egg potato salad, Texas toast and cornbread. It was all delicious. I'm not a huge fan of Mac and cheese but theirs is excellent! The cornbread is one of my favorite items. Everyone was pleased with their food. The portions are so large we all had lunch for the next day.

I have ate here and ordered out many times and we always enjoy it. The pulled pork is my favorite, but the brisket is a close second. Love the collard greens! They are spicy but the best! The macaroni is also top notch. If you order a combo or plate there will always be food to take home. The dessert options are intresting too. So far I have only had the banana pudding and will order it again. Drinks are self serve with fresh tea, fresh lemonade, watermelon lemomade, or soda from the soda machine. All of the staff are kind and helpful. The restaurant can get busy sometimes. There are limited booths, but lots of tables. I appreciate that the dinnng area is always clean and managed throughout the day.

OMG the best bbq I've had in Charlotte hands down. I've know about this place for a while but I never visited. I thought it was closer to the mall but it's not. Once I put it in the gps and I started driving I said I won't be coming to this place too often because it's kinda out there but after visiting and eating the food, I will be back. The service was great, the food was good and I feel like I'm the last one in the party to find out about this place. I went on Saturday kind of early before 1pm and when I was leaving it was so many people pulling up to this place you would've thought they were giving away free food. It was crazy but anyway I had the wings and brisket along with greens and sweet potato casserole and cornbread and let me tell you everything was delicious. Do you hear me? DELICIOUS (One last thing they have a nice variety of sauces on the table)

Will forever give this place a 10/10 - Food is always great, the service is great, but be prepared to wait. Line moves as quickly as it can and if you dine in, you'll have to wait until a table is ready before you can order (at least that's what happened with us). Worth the wait and worth the money.

We came to this location for lunch and it was a great experience. The place was packed but we were able to get a seat quickly! The kids menu was great and honestly there was so much food on their meal it felt like a full-sized portion! We loved that there were multiple different sauces on the table when we sat down as part of the table set up! My husband and I shared a bbq salad and couldn't eat it all!!! Great bbq spot!!!

It's my first time in the south and wanted to try North Carolina's bbq. This place came highly recommended. The food was great! We had a 3 meat combo: chopped pork, brisket, smoked sausage, hashbrown casserole, and mac and cheese. My favorite items were the pork and the hashbrown casserole. The staff were extremely friendly and attentive.

Excellent service all around. No table service but the wait staff were diligent about clearing tables and grabbing refills. I ordered the regular pulled pork tray with BBQ slaw. The meat was juicy and very flavorful and the slaw had a good tang to it. This place came highly recommended and several People told us it was much better than Lexington BBQ. While i dont agree with that statement (lexington is the gold standar imo) it certainly was a delicious meal prepared with pride. Interested in trying out some of their other locations in salisbury and gastonia.

This bbq was very tasty. Too much food, I couldn't fish what I ordered. The brisket was delicious! The pulled pork with the bbq sauces was very good. Mac n' cheese was okay but I really enjoyed the potatoes salad. This place was a self serve drink establishment where you order at the front sit down and they bring you your food. My food came out pretty quickly, though my colleagues took a bit longer for some reason. I enjoyed my visit and would go back if I'm ever in the area and craving some bbq.

I'd like to order delivery today for 10 people please. Is there any service you use for delivery? Thanks!

When I was there was a person from uber eats was picking up an order. I'm pretty sure they are on doordash as well.

FOOD IS SO GOOD! Me…read moreand my family have stopped in here a couple of times to eat, and it is so good every time! Once you get seated, they give you complimentary cheese biscuits. They are addicting. They are soft, fluffy, hot, cheesy, and delicious. I always get the chicken tender basket, with either fries or Mac and cheese. The tender are big, juicy, crispy, and hot. They are so good when they are paired with the honey mustard. The honey mustard is like a sweet-dijon. So good! The Mac and cheese is always creamy, and the noodles are always soft (not stale like some places), and the fries are always fluffy and crispy. The tea could be better (It is pretty weak), but the food makes up for it. The service isn't always the best (it depends on who you get), but they are never mean. Some of them just act like they just have somewhere better to be. Yesterday, they were short staffed and our server had to cover the whole bar (it was full), and several booths and tables, so I can understand how busy she was. Still, she did a great job for the amount of work that she had. If you live in Charlotte or the surrounding areas, are driving down I-85, or live in Concord, PLEASE stop in at Jim 'N Nick's. It is a more modern-family-feel restaurant, but is still super good and fresh!!

Decent BBQ with Solid Food, Average Service…read more I recently ate at Jim 'N Nick's BBQ in Concord and overall had a pretty decent experience. The food was definitely the highlight -- everything tasted fresh and well-prepared. The BBQ had good flavor, and the sides were solid too. We.ordered a platter to share with ribs, shredded chicken and lean brisket with the coleslaw and potato salad. You can tell they take their time with the smoked meats, which is what keeps people coming back. Common areas were clean and the vibe was family friendly. The service, however, was just okay. It wasn't bad, but it also wasn't anything special. Staff were polite, but things felt a bit slow and not very attentive compared to what you'd expect at a place like this. Overall, I'd still come back for the food since that's the most important part, but improving the service would definitely make the experience better.

Johnny Roger's was the choice. I had the Wagyu smash burger with fries. Price was a little steep, but what the heck. After a short wait, the order disc started vibrating. The burger and fries were good. My burger had two patties with a slice of cheese on each one. I did like that. The bun was good, it held up while I was enjoying my meal. The patties were very thin, but tasty and enjoyable. The fries were pretty good. I didn't get any seasoning that I could tell, but that's ok. Gibson Mill Market food court is actually pretty good place to hang out it seems. Who doesn't enjoy a burger and a beer (High Branch and Cabbarrus breweries are on site). It seems like a great place with plenty of things to see and partake in. It has a great vibe for sure. We would probably visit here again when everything is open. I would eat another burger here honestly.
