FLOUNDER & SHRIMP with onion rings and CALABASH SHRIMP* with french fries
    Elaina M.

We visited this location when it first opened years ago. We were underwhelmed at that time. Service was good. Ambiance was also good but the food we had was meh. However, this time we had a great experience across the board. Food. Service and Ambiance. I think we will put Showmars into our rotation.

Two ready to munch people awaiting their meal

A nice quiet hot Saturday deserves a good meal at the end of the day. We settled in this restaurant for some quick iced teas to cool us down. (I love their sweet tea). We shared a salad conversing about anything /everything as the time flowed by.

Double burger and fish sandwich. Cold and old. Kannapolis location.

I usually go here (Kannapolis location) for the fish sandwich and I never have issues. But, today I ordered the fish sandwich and a double burger. Both were cold and old. Very disappointed.

Raw chicken in the center! Dangerously under cooked!

Not happy with Showmars (6120 Bayfield Parkway, Concord, NC) We had a very nice meal with excellent service this evening. Ordered an additional meal to take home to family. The grilled chicken chef salad had raw chicken on it. I called to let them know how dangerous this was and could be fatal for someone 93. First very apologetic and offered to refund my card. Provided photo of the receipt and the raw chicken on top of the salad. Received a phone call/voicemail later saying I would have to come back in for a refund. So sad because we loved Showmars but not going to tolerate dangerous raw chicken.

Popcorn shrimp mini meal with grilled zucchini and squash

Love Showmars!! I honestly don't know why I don't go more often. The food is always hot and tastes very fresh. I appreciate that I can get healthy-ish options there. For example, instead of French fries, I can substitute grilled zucchini and squash at no additional cost. There are plenty of options for the pescatarian and gluten-free members of my family. They have a great rewards program that quickly lets you earn credits toward free items. On this particular trip, I used my $5 birthday reward on a popcorn shrimp mini meal. Although the name has mini in it, don't be confused. It is a good-sized portion that usually lasts me 2 meals. Pro-tip: There is a drive-thru but it is only for people who have already placed their orders online or over the phone.

Salmon with side salad and tater tots

I've been wanting to try this place since I saw one pop up years ago.  Yet,  I never went until now. What was I thinking? There is a reason you always see people going in and out of this place... the food is good! Even though it's a chain, (I'm not big on chains) it feels like a local place.  The staff was friendly and you could tell they really want to help.  They also seemed to remember or simply know a lot of people. Now, I love salmon. Yet, I've never recieved good salmon from a fast casual place.  I won't say fast food because you could tell they started cooking as soon as I placed the order. The wait was not too long and it was worth it. The salmon was cooked perfectly and the had tater tots on the menu. I know it's not your usually combination,  but it made me happy.  I was also able to get a side salad which was nice especially for the price. I will definitely try others to see if this was a one off experience.

Turkey burger & cup of fruit
    Tori P.

I'm not a native of the Charlotte area, so I was pretty excited about my first visit to Showmars. Overall, I really enjoyed my visit and would go back. The menu is pretty simple, casual food. I ordered a Turkey burger with a side of fruit. Can't really go wrong there. My food tasted great and was ready in a very reasonable amount of time. Also, the person taking our order was very friendly and patient. The restaurant was clean. Even though they were short staffed, I saw someone go around fairly regularly to wipe the tables and seats. The bathroom was also pretty clean. The location is great. We were able to do some nice shopping in the area before going to eat. The parking lot is spacious but could use a little cleaning.

I am a transplant to the south so I wasn't familiar with this establishment. I know that it is a Southern staple. There isn't a lot to say about Shomars that most locals don't already know, so herein lies my experiences. First - You best be prepared for a serious wait. Consider yourself more fortune than I have ever been if you place your order in less than ten minutes. The line can extend out of the door! That will be a 20 minute wait before you even place your order. Then expect an additional wait time of at least 15 minutes or more for your order to arrive to your table. So, if you like lukewarm food... Bon appetite! Second - It is important to note that both tables to eat in as well as parking can be scarce. I know it may have a drive through, but this isn't a fast food restaurant. There is a drive through, but don't try to be slick. The drive through is strictly for online orders [only]. Don't go through there expecting to avoid the long wait. The sign makes it clear that the drive through is for patrons who have previously ordered. So don't even think of that option. Also the pricing isn't comparable to traditional fast food. For example it costs $3.99 for a tiny shake! But unlike fast food, your food is made fresh to order. There are healthier options and fresh sides and I appreciate that. The fresh corn and black bean salad feels like a better option than some starchy side. I have ordered it both times I have been there. Third - Finally, the menu is eclectic. It has Greek inspired dishes like Gyros as well as southern, fried flounder. The food isn't seasoned like Greek food, and the portions are much smaller than the large Greek servings I am used to. Now, to end on a positive note and give credit where credit is due, their Baklava Cheesecake is different in a very good way. Truly it is the best of both worlds. Mediterranean traditional dessert meets American indulgence. How sweet, comforting, exotic and so satisfying.

I usually do a mobile order, but I went inside for the first time. Service was 10/10. Each employee was very nice and continuously circulated the dining area to ensure everyone had everything they needed. The place was very clean. The food has always been fabulous whether ordering online or in person.

After a much anticipated wait this location of Showmar"s had finally opened. I'm not the only one happy to see it open. There was a long line leading up to both of the registers. The line moved relatively quickly and it was time to order before we knew it. We were familiar with the menu from having eaten at other locations and it was practically the same. I ordered a fish sandwich and my wife got a grilled chicken pita. After ordering you are given a number and your food is delivered to the table. Our food came out promptly and our order was correct. The server was polite in spite of being very busy. Being a brand new building, everything was obviously clean. They didn't have their health department issued sanitation grade posted at the register. I went to the restroom to wash my hands and it was well maintained and tidy. I can't wait to return and enjoy the convenience of having a location this close to my house.

The potatoes were hard like they're old. The mimosa was good, regular sparkling with pineapple juice. And their tip machine doubles the recommended amount so for my $9 mimosa it generates a +$3 tip at 18 % but it should have been under $2. Just wanted to point that out too. I won't be back.

A must stop for both dinner and Southern breakfast enthusiasts…read more On my way home from Charlotte, I used Yelp to find me a classic diner to start my day off right. I choose the Crack of Dawn Diner in Concord. I am so glad I did. Crack of Dawn Diner is the real thing--a local Concord breakfast-and-lunch spot serving traditional Southern fare at reasonable prices. The menu caters to local tastes, the dining room is filled with regulars, and the atmosphere is comfortable rather than trendy. Parking is somewhat limited. The private lot surrounding the restaurant was fully used so I parked in the lot next door that had signs that said private property, but it looked like other patrons were parking there also so I took the chance. As it turns out, it was safe to park there. The entrance is very welcoming, as well as the staff. Amanda was my very efficient and nice waitress. There is great teamwork here, and Amanda was well supported by, I believe, the owner who ran my food out and talked a bit with me. The menu is fascinating. A distinctly North Carolina menu. Several things jumped out: * Breakfast special for $6.59 weekdays * Breakfast plates mostly under $12 * Grits included as a side option * Livermush available * City ham and country ham both offered * Pork chops available for breakfast I ordered the country-fried steak with white gravy (essentially chicken-fried steak), along with two sunny-side-up eggs, perfectly prepared grits, a large buttermilk biscuit, and a delicious diner coffee. The restaurant occupies a stand-alone building with a warm, "come on in and rest a spell" atmosphere. Inside, you'll find counter seating, an open kitchen, and tables throughout the dining room. I chose a seat by the window overlooking the parking area. This was a great breakfast, that was reasonably priced, in a great atmosphere, with very nice people. It stuck to both my mind and ribs all day long. After breakfast, I continued on to downtown Concord and spent some time exploring one of North Carolina's most charming revitalized downtown districts. The breakfast was the perfect start to the morning. Crack of Dawn Diner has earned a spot on my repeat list whenever my travels take me through the Charlotte-Concord area.
