Cheesecake pancakes
Emilie W.

I'm very happy they haven't changed the look of this location. I have been coming here since I was in high school and usually come here once when I visit. Service was really nice she made sure and let us know she has only been a waitress for two weeks. I think she did a great job. I will say the only complaint is the menu is all over the place. It took me a while to find my strawberry cheesecake pancakes. Also they service alcohol now? Who knew

Mashed potatoes

Pretty much the same. This order was picked up so I don't have pictures of restaurant. We ordered a Family meal for 5. We ordered the 3 meatloaf and 2 person chicken tenders fried(10 total). We chose Loaded Hash brown Casserole and Mashed potatoes with brown gravy. Biscuits were also included. Everything was pretty standard for Cracker Barrell as one would expect-that's why we go. Only disappointment was we got regular hash-brown casserole instead of the loaded hash-brown casserole like we ordered. We would eat here again.

Biscuits, decent.

Ol' C.B...not much to report here. My other joint (Troy's Diner)'s line was out the door with it being App State's first week back in session. Boone has been an absolute mad house dumpster fire all week. So I landed at Cracker Barrel since it is easy to turn into and I found a parking spot close to the front door. Anyway, chose a veggie plate over breakfast, even the guy beside me had pancakes that looked good. Fried okra, Luke warm mashed potatoes and Mac & cheese were rounded out by a big bowl of creamy coleslaw (which I didn't want but the option I got came with four sides.) Small portion of Mac and cheese was the only thing that was hot and the okra has some inevitable cold stringy ones that I had to discard of. I'd say the teeny biscuit(s) and the tea were good but the stupid glass and a half of tea I got cost $3.69! If I ever go back I'll stick with water. Save yourself a trip and just stay local and go to Troy's.

We brought the Sprinter up to the North Carolina mountains and spent the night in their parking lot. Arriving not too late in the evening but not hungry, we took a look through the store and bought a few lemon sugar sticks after visiting the clean restrooms. The parking lot isn't completely level - it took two risers where we were parked but not bad. Sorry, no meal this time Cracker Barrel. I owe you one! Chicken and dumplings with broccoli apples and carrots
Emmie H.

The food is so good. Comfort food is a must for us. The chicken and dumplings are so good. Not as good as my mom's but still delicious. My husband loves the fried chicken and hash brown casserole. The wait staff is very nice and welcoming. I love the antique style of the restaurant. Has a very homey atmosphere. Shopping at the store is always a treat and I love the selection of items that are available

It might have just been the holiday rush, but I always figure "busy means good," so my expectations were high--and The Local didn't disappoint. We started with the nachos; they were delicious, though I do wish they came with a bit more meat. For mains, the burger was outstanding--probably one of the best we've had in the entire area. We also ordered the Brazilian steak, which was cooked perfectly and came with great plantains. The quinoa with tofu was good, too, though it was a little dry and would have been perfect with a sauce. The service really stood out. Our waitress was incredibly attentive and refilled my water at least four times without me asking. Great ambiance and an all-around good experience. Definitely worth the wait!

Bar tender provided menus, and checked back on us after a few minutes to take order. They've got a good menu with pizza, sandwiches, burgers, and a good variety of entrees (seafood, steak, chicken, pasta), basically, they've got something for everyone. Not being too hungry, but knowing we needed something, we decided to just split an order of the pulled pork nachos. The food came out fairly quickly, looked and tasted great. They did not skimp on toppings. Staff was friendly, food was good, only complaint is it was very dark inside, and surprisingly loud in the restaurant, I can't imagine being there with live music, I assume it would be impossible to have a conversation.

But I wiggled my vehicle into a tight spot and went in for a burger and a beer. I believe there were about 10 to 12 options available on tap, and I went with what was listed as an Irish stout from somewhere in the Northeast. It wasn't bad, though it seemed more like an imperial stout. My sandwich choice was the Cowboy, with ground elk at its core. It was a good choice too, and the accompanying fried onions and melted cheese complemented the meat well. I ordered the burger medium, but I think I'd go for medium rare if I could go back in time. The medium option wasn't bad, but I think a little less heat and a little more moisture would only make things better. I kept things simple with the side item, going for the fries which were of the thinly sliced McDonald's variety, not bad but nothing remarkable. The server covering my table was pleasant and prompt, though soft spoken so I occasionally had to ask her to repeat herself amidst the music and noise. I wouldn't call any of these selections a bargain, but the prices didn't veer too far from what you'll find in many burger joints. All in all, not an earthshaking experience, but a place I'd be willing to go back to. 3.5 stars.

We wanted a nice place to eat that was casual because we were in track clothes. Everyone was super friendly, from the call about my reservation to the hostesses who greeted us and especially, Ethan, our server. I'm the kind of person who looks at the menu online before I go anywhere and already have in mind what I want. Shrimp burger. Need I say more? I had mine without the tomato and onion. Think crab cake but with shrimp. I assumed (and we know what that gets you) the shrimp would be minced and unrecognizable. Nope! There were like whole shrimp in this "burger"! The flavor was amazing. I think the lemon aioli added such a richness. I tried not to eat all of the amazing fries but the fries won. Like, actual disgusting racism happening right in front of everyone, and the staff couldn't care less. He saw this Latino guy just trying to grab a drink at the bar, and this group of white women just absolutely went off on him. They were screaming slurs and calling him the most terrible names. It wasn't a joke or a misunderstanding; it was blatant, sickening, targeted hate speech. This is Boone, right? It's supposed to be chill, but apparently, not at this place. My boyfriend immediately went to the bouncer--the guy who's supposed to keep things safe--and told him exactly what was happening. And the bouncer's official response? He said he couldn't do anything. Seriously?! A grown man is being harassed with racial slurs, and your security just shrugs and walks away? That's not just unprofessional; that's actively letting racism happen on your property. It's like they're totally cool with it. I am livid. My friends and I are DONE with Elevation 3333. No way are we giving business to a place that allows blatant disrespect and racism to run wild and then won't lift a finger to stop it. This is beyond gross.
