Best crispy bacon ever...thick and delicious! The pecan pancakes were excellent as well. Standing room only in the waiting area when we arrived (which is a representation of the good food), but the staff worked so well together that the wait was pretty short. Went for lunch before a funeral. It was so bad that I was sick during the service. Every one of my veggies were straight from the can or frozen. Even canned they could have been doctored up for taste. Also hamburger steak was dry and very expensive . Will not be returning. read more

We are fairly new to the area and had some friends visiting. We were looking for a breakfast place that was open on a Sunday morning. We had a party of 5 and everyone ordered something different. One and done. Ordered bacon cheeseburger, with lettuce, tomato and mayonnaise side of fries. Fries were hot. Bun was 1/2 inch bigger, all the way around meat. Cheeseburger, extremely well done, burnt and dry. Under ripe tomato slice, small piece of lettuce and not enough mayo to cover the bun. Also ordered cup of baked potato soup and a hot ham/cheese sandwich. Ham & cheese okay but greasy. Soup was thick as sheetrock mud and taste bitter/spoiled. Server was good, friendly. We just ate here and had eaten here before. My food was warm not hot but my partner's food was cold and not as ordered. Toast not dark, hash browns not cooked to order and the food was cold. He made a complaint and tried to send it back. The owner came over and escalated the situation by telling the staff to burn the toast black among other things. Blamed everything on Covid, poor help, and Joe Biden for the employment situation. They did bring him another breakfast and didn't charge for his meal (we paid anyway). The owner was angry but later apologized but told us we needed to go to church as we were leaving. We will never eat at this establishment again. Such a disappointment. This is not Buds. Pancakes not fluffy, gross and prices are much higher! When talked to manager about problems with meal his reaction was to ask regulars instead of addressing my problems. To bad I won't be a regular or returning! Bacon was crispy hence the one star. We got a to go biscuit for my oldest and I guess the manager decided to get his revenge on my constructive comment and sent us home with the hardest, maybe oldest biscuit that I gave to the dog and she is still trying to get thru it, and she kills a hoof in no time lol. My husband and I went to Southern Crossroads for lunch. They have delicious food! A lot of it is made from scratch right there at the restaurant. My husband ordered a club sandwich with french fries (he enjoyed his meal) and I ordered the Daily Special: of fish, coleslaw, fried squash, and cornbread. The chef makes his own fish batter, which is light and flavorful. They make their own coleslaw, which is the best I have ever had! The cornbread was moist and delicious. Squash was yummy too. Looking forward to going back and enjoying more delicious food! They have different daily specials every day, so be sure to ask what they are offering for that day. read more

This restaurant has been open a week and I realize this when writing this review. We went by for breakfast on a Sunday morning, party of 3. We were quickly seated by one of two hostesses standing at the register/hostess stand. First glance at the menu and things were quite pricy. Our waiter had a tendency of saying "my man" after every sentence, which was quite annoying and unprofessional. We ordered simple things; an omelette, liver mush sandwich, and hash browns with gravy. First came a basket of toast with butter, still not sure why. Food took about 15 minutes to come out. Liver mush was paper thin, gravy tasted like bacon grease, and hash browns had no flavor. We weren't offered refills on our drinks (the menu said only one refill per soda). When going to pay, we had to wait on a man to come to the register (assuming the owner) even though two hostesses were still standing there waiting to seat people. After three people were waiting to pay, here he comes, rings everything up, asks tip amount for card (we asked to add few dollars), then he handed us the money to take back to the table, what?! So you obviously have concerns training your staff on a register, you don't even have tip jars at the register? Needless to say, we won't be coming back. Very unfortunate experience considering we went with high hopes for this new restaurant. read more

How in the world does this place stay in business?? Flies all over our food and around our table! We ordered the double hamburger with fries, I've seen more fries in a McDonalds kids happy meal and the hamburger was dry!!! No salt on the fries no flavor to the hamburger AT ALL!! Also ordered the salmon patties with okra and sweet potatoe casserole because they were out of baked sweet potatoes. The okra was ok but the serving was in a tiny little white bowl that normally has butter in it, there were maybe 10 pieces of okra. The 2 salmon patties were burnt BLACK and DRY!! TASTELESS! The sweet potato casserole was DISGUSTING. DRY like it had been heated and reheated for DAYS and TASTLESS imagine eating cardboard that's what it tasted like totally gross!! I can not believe the waitress brought out that plate with the hamburger and the 12 little French fries, a good waitress would have told the cook "I am not taking that out" AND I can not believe she also brought out 2 burnt black salmon patties the size of silver dollars and that godforsaken NASTY "sweet potatoe casserole " I have literally been scarred for life and will probably have PTSD next time I'm at another restaurant ordering sweet potatoe casserole. A one star is too high of a rating for this place!! Went to pay for my lunch and the debit machine had stopped working. Neither me or my co-worked had enough cash on us to cover the bill. So we nicely told the lady we did not have enough cash and what would she like for us to do. She said "well one of u have to go get money and the other has to stay here until he gets back". No big deal except for she was so rude about it. So I stayed and let my co-worker go get cash. While I was standing there this lady proceeded to tell me she did not appreciate my co-worker being so rude and that we both needed to grow up and learn to carry cash and that we would not be having this issue if we knew how to carry cash. I tried to explain to her that my co-work was not rude and all he was doing was asking how and what she would like for us to do. She then started yelling at me in front of customers and staff that "he was rude and so were u"! I asked her how was I being rude when I had not said a word and she stated "u know what u did baby face and u need to stand over there and shut your mouth". I was beside myself at this point and in disbelief that anyone would speak to a customer like this. Trying to defuse the situation I stood over to the side and kept my mouth shut and she started in on me again!! Saying this wasn't her fault and she couldn't help the machine broke down and I told her ma'am your correct u can not help your machine breaking down but u have full control of your behavior and how u treat people. And she had the never to tell me that she they don't take no shit from anyone!!!! I told her no one was giving her crap we simply asked a question so we could pay. I then asked to speak to the manager and she said she was the "damn owner"! Unbelievable!! I simply told her good luck with this behavior and the the way she treated her customers she wouldn't be in busy long!! I have never been talked to so hateful or disrespected in my life!!
