Tried the country fried shrimp and it was good. The breading wasn't too thick and it had good flavor. Came with a lemon wedge and a side of cocktail sauce. This is the second time I've eaten at a Cracker Barrel. Both times it was in Detroit at this location. The first time I had the fried catfish and loved it. This time we came for breakfast. I got the Grandma's Sampler Pancake Breakfast $11.39. It comes with two buttermilk pancakes, two eggs, bacon, sausage and ham. It also comes with a breakfast side and I chose the hash brown casserole. Everything was on point and I enjoyed my breakfast. It's kind of hard to mess up breakfast foods. The hubby also got one of the breakfast combos, but I can't remember which one. They have a few and they're all really similar. He did get the biscuits and gravy. It was my first time sampling the white gravy and I was in love. It was so good, way better than brown gravy. This restaurant is huge and the place was packed. When you think Cracker Barrel to me, my thoughts jump right to their breakfast and dine in (I will ask for a table by the fire, especially cold days). The decor has not changed since opening. However, I decided to try out their fried chicken, Cole slaw, corn & corn muffins. The chicken was pretty good. It was seasoned with a nice balance of spices. However, it was a bit over cooked. The Cole slaw was yummy. The corn, was probably the cheapest that they could buy. The corn muffin was what I call "southern" style. It is not sweet, so ask for honey. The food was average, equate it to Popeyes (not spicy). HOWEVER.... Portions were small. Very small. read more

First of all, I get you want to seat as many folks as you can, but, when niether my wife or I could seat ourselves without moving the table and our chair backs were touching the other folks chair backs you have taken it too far. Next, we asked for a bigger table and our server Lydia, who was the only bright spot on this visit, cleaned one off for us only for them to seat someone else there. There were quite a few tables one in another section but they wouldn't go there. And, we made a special trip to Cracker Barrel for the country turkey dinner and they were out. We left at that point. Visiting a Cracker Barrel restaurant is like taking a trip down home to the Southern States, and exploring that ubiquitous general store that every small town seems to have had in the not so recent past. These mercantile businesses were an integral part of the local fabric of the town they served. At one time where they could special order items from the Sears and Roebuck catalog, before Walmart moved in put them out of business in the 1980s. I was feeling nostalgic, so I decided take a trip back in time and visit the local Cracker Barrel several days ago. Anyone who loves "down home country cooking" will immediately identify with the faire that is served at any Cracker Barrel restaurant. My father's side of the family is from the Deep South, and there's an old saying that when you visit your family and friends, you don't leave their home on an empty stomach. The cuisine served at just about any Cracker Barrel is sure to bring back fond memories of the south. When I visited the local Belleville location for lunch several day ago, I decided to order a serving of chicken and dumplings, with cornbread and fried okra. How can you wrong with this classic selection? We'll let me tell you quality has really slid downhill at this restaurant since I last ate there just before the pandemic started. Dumplings should be soft and easy to chew, not tough like they want to join a local street gang and hangout in a back alley with them after sundown. The more I used my fork to cut the dumplings, I realized this entrée tasted more like it came out of a can Sweet Sue Chicken and Dumplings, that had expired on the shelf on the local supermarket shelf several months ago. While I have never liked Sweet Sue or any dumplings from a can, this experience gave me nightmares for a week. At least the cornbread and okra was good. How can anyone screw-up a country classic like chicken and dumplings like this is beyond my comprehension!? I can say the service provided by server was OK, but I shouldn't have an empty glass when you walk by my table and bring the orders to people directly behind me multiple times. After her fourth trip past me, she came back and said my glass was empty and would I like a refill? Why else would I have been holding it up when you walked past me the second time? While I will probably visit other Cracker Barrel restaurants in the future, I will definitely think twice about this place. read more

Let me start off by saying that my expectations of a meal at Cracker Barrel are very low. The Belleville location managed to come in under that level. We drove out of our way because everyone else in the party likes CB, and my daughter didn't want to try something else. Service was pretty good, a little on the slow side, but I expect that here. And honestly our server's friendliness is the only reason I'm giving two stars. I got an overpriced breakfast, and it was truly awful. The small portion of hash brown casserole was dried out, the bacon was three half pieces that were cooked to death and had very little flavor, and the scrambled eggs were the topper - way overcooked, thin and tough, and contained multiple pieces of shells. The rest of the food seemed passable, except my father in law's sheppard's pie, which he was very sorry he tried. The only plus side is that I've vowed to never return to this or any other CB. Life is too short for overpriced lousy food. You might be wondering why I didn't send the food back? Because any kitchen that would send that product out doesn't care at all about quality, so anything I got back would have likely been nearly as bad. read more

The last few years the food quality has gone down. Carry out has been terrible and we tip the waitresses that fill our order because it takes them from their tables. Tonight we ordered three chicken dinner carryout and drove 25 minutes to pick it up only to be told there was no chicken! Online orders should be informed before a long drive to pick it up! The country store is always a great place to shop, but the dining room just isn't the same as days gone by, the food seems to have changed. Carry out has been a great disappointment more than once. This is one of the restaurants my daughter choose to eat whenever we visit her. Located about 15-20 minutes from Ann Arbor, there is plenty of parking but it was busy on the day we went. There was a 1/2 hour wait because they were short staffed so we decided to return the next day. We learned that you can sign up for the waitlist which we did before our return. They also introduced a reward program since we were last there. I ordered the Chicken Pot Pie but they said the truck hadn't arrived? so ended up ordering meatloaf instead. All the dishes are good. On Thursday, December 12, 2024, my wife, son, and I had a special dinner at Cracker Barrell at 45525 N I 94 Service Dr, Belleville, MI 48111, to celebrate our son's outstanding report card. Upon arrival, everyone was cordial as usual. Yet, one aspect of our experience exceeded the quality of our past visits. This was our waitress, Carolynn. She was attentive, communicative, and gracious. We never had to ask more than once for our personal essentials, and she made it feel like we, too, deserved the preferential treatment of paying patrons. The most delightful addition that made this visit our top visit of a lifetime to date was her facilitation of a personal request that had never been accommodated. My son and I were served scrambled eggs with American cheese, cooked with the cheese on the inside and not sitting atop the portion, similar to how one would construct regular burgers. Historically, for at least two years, as a family, we have been force-fed excuses about the impossibility of scrambling eggs with American cheese due to the risk of cookware damage--a surprising rationale we were surprised to hear from a restaurant's staff member. But thanks to Carolynn, my son had the memorable celebration meal he had earned, and our family was shown that paying patrons may receive a proper exchange of money for goods and exemplary services. I don't even know where to start. I've been to Cracker Barrel before and had decent experiences, but this last visit was an absolute disaster. The service was beyond unacceptable. We waited over 20 minutes just to get water, and when we finally did place our order, it took nearly an hour to get cold, poorly made food. No apologies. No updates. Nothing. The server acted like we were a burden for simply being there. No eye contact, no refills, and no basic courtesy. It's like they forgot what customer service even is. And don't get me started on the manager -- completely uninterested and clearly not in control of the dining room chaos. They were about 1/2 full and appeared to have adequate staff. Service-waitress was friendly and fairly prompt - no issues, food came out in a reasonable amount of time. Food-blueberry pancakes were greasy - clearly not cooked on a non-stick pan. The greasy texture was not pleasant. My wife had regular pancakes - same problem. I guess they wanted an easy pan to clean. Scrambled eggs were runny (after specifically requested not runny). So a fail on the eggs. Bacon was pretty good, chicken sausage not as good. We used to like Cracker Barrell, but every time we have gone to this location, the food has been subpar. It started with standing in line at the check in desk. I don't know where the girl went, but the line got long and people started thinking they had to put their name on a list. The girl must have been gone 5 minutes or more. We ordered fried chicken. It was only 600 pm. They came back to us and said, sorry we're out. How can you be out when that's such a big part of the menu? We ordered something else and waited and waited. Our food came out, but only half of it. It took so long to get our food, my daughter and her baby had to walk around. Their food came later. The potatoes were lumped up and the gravy was terrible. This Cracker Barrel was our last stop before heading to the airport. Vacation time was ending. Our last meal here was a nice ending to our trip. Always enjoy Cracker Barrels. This branch is in Belleville, Michigan right off the freeway. Now that I think of it, all the Cracker Barrel restaurants seem to be conveniently next to a freeway. Smart! The consistent decor of their restaurants and store is always cool to see. Browsing the Country Store is always a treat. For this visit, I bought some Goo Goo Clusters that I never see at groceries. Make sure to check out the store for good deals. Wifey and I both went with our favorite Cracker Barrel meal. Buttermilk Pancakes!! Filthy, everything was dirty. As we walked in noticed the floor was super slippery (that happens). Noticed it wasn't just slippery, but pretty dirty (8:30 am). Everything around the table was covered in a thick layer of dust. My husband went to the men's restroom, came bk & said he'd rather wait to use the one at the international airport bc it's probably cleaner. As with most of my visits to any Cracker Barrel, I was promptly seated and received friendly service during my meal. I got my usual country boy breakfast with grits, hash brown casserole, and coffee. I'm going on record and saying that I'm a long time fan of the Cracker Barrel. I used to frequent this restaurant when I went to school in Illinois. It really got me through some rough days with its peaceful atmosphere and stick to your ribs comfort food. The most underrated feature of this franchise is its consistency, not just in the quality of its food but also in the layout of its restaurant and store. I've been to maybe half a dozen Cracker Barrel locations, and every single one looks the same as the other. That kind of attention to detail gives me such good memories that the food tastes that much better to me. Up till now I have never been to a location that didn't have good customer service and attentive wait staff. I'll find any excuse to pay them a visit for breakfast especially, so I decided to initiate my son into the tradition. We shared buttermilk pancakes off the kids menu and a Steak n' Egg Hashbrown Casserole that came topped with fried onions. It was probably the best breakfast I've had here, and I think my son will agree. Don't typically add reviews, but the service my family and i received today from Lydia B was absolutely amazing!! I haven't been here in awhile because the service hadnt been great, but she has restored my faith. Lydia was attentive and such a kind human. When we came in we werent sure of what we wanted but she never came back rushing us or seeming annoyed with our questions.
