I came here because I needed to get an oil change at Toyota. Bob Evans is one of the closest restaurants so I chose to come here while I waited for my car. It was about 12:45pm and only a few other tables in the restaurant. I was greeted by my server who was friendly. There were so any different options for food I didn't know what to choose! I knew for sure I wanted to try the mashed potatoes and macaroni and cheese so I ordered the steak because it came with both of those sides. Bread comes with the meal so I opted for the biscuits and added a cup of gravy, this I was super excited for! I got my biscuits and gravy almost immediately after I ordered. It was hot she comforting, but extremely salty. The steak with sides arrived shortly after. Again the steak was so salty, but I actually really enjoyed the potatoes. The mac and cheese tasted like wet cardboard though so I don't recommend that. After I was done the server gave me my bill and never told me you pay up front. But I'm left feeling very full and very bloated. Not the worst meal I've had. read more

Bob Evans is actually a pretty solid restaurant when it comes to traditional American food. As someone from California, finding a restaurant with decent traditional breakfast can be a real challenge. Their breakfast is really good! My favorite dish would have to be Homestead Breakfast. I'm a big eater, so this is the only meal for me lol. The dish comes with 3 eggs, breakfast meat of your choosing, and your choice of grits, home fries, hash browns. I always go with the grits because I love how they taste with butter in it. As for the meat, I always go with their yummy bacon. The bacon is thick cut, perfectly crispy, and isn't too salty at all. I believe you can also go with sausage patties or ham if you don't want bacon. Overall, Bob Evans is a great choice for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Just come in and try it out! we were at the restaurant me my parents and my seven siblings the lady tried to set us down and said that we have to have two separate tables because of how large my family was. My dad asked her if she can put some tables together so we can eat together she slammed the children's crayons on the table, and then proceeded to walk away came back and started putting two tables together and started slamming the chairs so my dad told her I'm sorry that this was a hassle for you and we left. Years ago, my parents always loved to stop and eat at restaurants that featured typical American fare. Places like Howard Johnson's and Bill Knapp's come to mind. Sadly, both of these legendary establishments in the Great Lakes Region, are now all but a fading memory in the over 30 crowd. Thankfully, Bob Evans fills this void very nicely. This Bob Evans is the go to place for a great meal with family or friends. I love their wide selection of sandwiches, and dinner entrées, which won't break your wallet. Likewise, their desert menu is fantastic. I've never had a Coconut Cream Pie from this place I didn't like. The Bob Evans on US-12 (Michigan Avenue) in Canton, is by far my favorite. Maybe that's because it's so close to my home. This probably accounts for the reason I am receiving coupons in the mail for this place all the time, which makes me go there very often. Nevertheless, I've never had a bad meal or service from this location. More importantly, the entire restaurant and restrooms are always very clean, which is a good thing in my book. read more

Bob Evans is not what it used to be. The quality of the food and service is not consistent. If you order take out please check your to go order before leaving the establishment. The gravy might be missing or fried chicken could be under cooked or your pumpkin bread might have mold on it. The host and servers are hit or miss with the customer service they will give you. My sisters were dining at Bob E. Since my daughter and I were in the area, they said have dinner with us. I haven't been to a Bob E. in years I truly should have declined. I will start my review by saying the server was very nice, attentive and had a lot of patience. I decided to get breakfast. This meal choice consisted of two sausage links, two wafer thin sausage patties, a meager portion of ham, a pancake, a slice of French toast and two eggs over easy. The best part of this meal was the sausage links, ham and eggs. The sausage patties were unedible. The pancake was doughy tasting and the French toast wasn't crispy. My daughter didn't care for her French toast either. My sister's ordered the honey chicken and they were pleased with their meal. The total for my order alone was $13+ with tax. Seriously for this paltry amount of food ? Don't even give me the inflation speal. I'll probably give this restaurant another try in 20 years after I forget this experience. read more

This place sends coupons out all.the.time. This particular locale is usually hopping because of that. I admit I am lured by it. Food is hit or miss as is the service. For the most part it is fine but I have been here and sworn never again at least once. Especially on a particular buy one get one free dinner night that took us over two hours to get through with several items sent back because they were not what was ordered at all. Not even in the same ballpark lady type mistakes. Problems were barely acknowledged and it literally was not worth the discount we were offered. They played bait and switch on me in a carry out once, selling chicken salad and advertising it as the same size as a to go soup container. When I got it home it was a fourth of that size and not the terribly terrific bargain I was sold on. When I complained I got told too bad so sad you should not have assumed and that I should have checked my carry out bag before I left and discussed it in person. Well duh, it said that chicken salad was one of several options on the sign that had the container picture right damn next to it. That is the container I have gotten for every single other item you have advertised that way. Silly me. Yeah the place is just not worth the hassles and utter lack of concern with a happy customer. I stopped in for breakfast with mom the other day. We both ordered the border scramble, pretty tasty garnished with sour cream and jar salsa which is unfortunate. It is served with a choice of hashbrowns or home fries which were a bit undercooked. The restaurant is clean and well managed. The service was very good. I always have enjoyed Bob Evans breakfast, as well as their soups, lunch and dinner menu. The prices are a bit steep for what it is. They do however, mail out coupons and have an email club that sends offers which brings prices in a more reasonable range. Bad experience. Big fan of the biscuits and gravy, but this place managed to make me regret going, and has convinced me that I will not be frequenting this establishment ever again. Service was horrible, competence of employees is non-existent, and care for customer service is severely lacking. Went with my girlfriend, ordered 2 waters, a coffee, and small chocolate milk. The milk was half full & the coffee never came. Was told by the waitress that the coffee will be right up when she brought the other drinks so I assumed they were waiting on a brewed pot. Then the table right next to me that was sat 5 minutes after my drink order was put in received a steaming cup of Java. My waitress never returned until the food came up. When the food arrived, I said that I no longer needed the coffee and she gave me a dirty look and walked away. The food was wrong when it came out as well, and in correlation we were over-charged on our bill. Shortly after eating, prior to receiving the incorrect bill, the manager was doing her rounds to the tables asking how everything was, I said it was 'okay' but we had some issues. This is a great family restaurant, I usually think of breakfast but they have great lunch and dinner too. The menu is extensive and the specials change on a regular basis. The service friendly and consistent. There is usually a wait for breakfast on Sunday morning. I had the special with brioche french toast, turkey sausage, scrambled eggs and hasbrowns. It's a big deal for only 10 bucks and you can sub the French toast for pancakes or crepe. Definetly a good place for home cooking. read more

We've visited this Bob Evans location twice, and both times the food was fresh, well-prepared and flavorful. It was reasonably cheap as well, so no complaints overall with the food and cost. The service this last time, however, was far short of expectations. We were seated and the hostess brought us the menus, but after 15 minutes no waiter had come to the table. My wife hunted down the hostess and asked who the waiter was, and she said she would find the person, and in the meantime took our order. No waiter showed up. After 45 minutes total, my wife went looking again, and a waitress mentioned that it wasn't her table, but that she would take care of us, and brought us our drinks and silverware... after 45 minutes! By this time, the family that came in the same time as us, had finished eating and was leaving their table. Our food came soon thereafter, but that was the last time we saw our "new" waitress. Once we were done eating, my wife went to the car with our two kids, and I waited for some boxes. Of course, no waitress appeared for me to ask for boxes. Eventually I went to the counter to ask for them and a bag, and then took our leftovers and left. The whole meal took an hour and 20 minutes, and the first 45 minute we sat around and did nothing... Seems like some kind of waitstaff assignment mix-up, but even after we let them know about it (twice), no action was taken. I doubt we would visit this location for some time, especially with two kids to keep busy while the food is missing. read more

This review is for carry out only. They have had a recent remodel and the place is clean, streamlined and inviting. Gone are the kitschy souvenirs. In their place is a bakery counter. The salsas and jams,especially the apricot jam, are excellent and worth taking home with your order. The servers are quick and polite and will very carefully check your order so you don't get a surprise when you get home. They will also offer a free beverage while you wait. OK; as you know, I'm a big breakfast guy so after the medicur experience I had at "Cracker Barrel". I decided to try the grandfather of Sunday breakfasts......" Bob Evans" now its been some years since the last time I've been in a Bob Evans. They still have the same decor..... a slightly modern diner feel, what did catch my eye was the bakery stand right when you walked in. My server "Allissa" was pleasant, a little slow with bringing my coffee, but understandable do to the volume of customers in the dinning room. I ordered the "Brioche French Toast, Bacon and Biscuits and Gravy" The French toast was a new item on the menu, while it was tasty it didn't knock my socks off, the biscuits and gravy WOW!!!! still a top signature dish for them from the flaky soft biscuit, to the creamy thick gravy with the undeniable Bob Evans sausage throughout. It brought back memories. (No bacon) server totally forgot it. My over all experience was a 6 out of 10, the server can't forget items ordered, when they do....it shows a lack to detail. read more

This location is excellent. It's easy to overlook a chain business for having a great individual restaurant, or give one a pass simply for being part of a a chain, but this one deserves recognition. Great food, quick service, exceptional staff, managers who seem to care, neat and clean (from entrance to tables to register to bathrooms) to overall leave a great impression. We have a few locations to choose from, but we prefer to head here as often as possible. read more

Let me start with the positives first. 1) The hotel was clean and tidy. 2) Staff were friendly, and we were greeted with a smile, and 'Welcome to Bob Evans' when we entered. 3) Service was great, and our server was very helpful, and didn't mind re-filling our coffee multiple times. 4) Waffles were okay. 5) Steamed broccoli was great! Basically, everyone was friendly, and that was a saving grace. Not so goods: 1. Pancakes. Were extremely underdone. We didn't complain, since we didnt want to make a huge fuss out of it, but the hot cakes (pan cakes) weren't hot and fluffy. They were luke warm, and lumpy instead. We didn't complain. In the end, when we were asked if I wanted a box for the remaining pancakes, I just said in a very friendly manner that they were underdone. The server apologized, and asked if we would like anything else in it's place, and we said no. So A+ for service, and friendliness. I have seen many restaurants where they become defensive, and are rude. That was not the case here. (We did go there at an odd hour - 4 pm, so yes, it is possible that could have been a factor). 2. Coffee was luke warm. However, we asked for a hot and freshly brewed coffee, and our server gladly obliged. read more

The grilled chicken is tasty though, and juicy. And I don't understand why their coffee is always burnt here. I stick with iced tea anymore because I have no issues with that. I made an online delivery order today 5/9/2021. I ordered a sausage, egg and hash browns breakfast and a family size biscuits and gravy. The web site said delivery (via Door Dash) would be in 45 minutes. The driver arrived a few minutes later. Opened the bag and there was NO GRAVY included, and the breakfast items were lukewarm and dried out. The total cost for this order including the delivery charge and 25% tip was almost $29. What a waste of money. We threw away much of the stuff and gave the dog the rest. At least he seemed to enjoy it. read more

Bob Evans has a quality product with premium prices. That being said, we don't frequent Bob Evans to often because there are so many places around that give you quality food at more reasonable prices. The homestead breakfast is the standard that I try to match at other places, but sometimes we have to go back to Bob Evans for our fix. They offer many email deals if you join their email club and it helps bring the price more in line with other local eating establishments. Bob Evans is a solid 3 stars and I'll be back...
