This place was a little hard to spot at first since it is in an office building. Once you're inside the restaurant it feels like a cozy brunch spot. There was a decent amount of people on a Thursday morning so I imagine it can get a lot busier on the weekends. Their menu has offers a lot of very tasty options which made it difficult to choose! I ended up ordering the chicken and waffles. It was a good amount of pieces of chicken and a balance of salty and sweet. The service was great; the staff is super friendly. Sunday breakfast, here is what we liked: * Immediate seating. Everything online said it's a small place so plan on a wait. It was small but a table for two was easily accommodated. * The staff were all friendly and engaging. Several stopped to make sure we had enough coffee and were all set. *Crispy hash browns- love it when both sides are crispy but you still have the nice potato shreds in the middle. * Got a sampler breakfast that had a ton of food- don't recall what it was but solid large serving for a good price. *Overall a nice breakfast, hot food, tasted good and great service. What could of been better: * The homemade corn beef hash just dint have the right ratio- very potato heavy. Wasn't bad, just more like hashbrowns with corn beef added. We searched for a good place to eat after our shopping trip to Duluth Trading, and were delighted with Lena's Kitchen! It was small and cozy feeling, and service was attentive, warm and friendly. Eggs Benedict is one of my favorite dishes, and love when a menu offers many Benedict choices. I went with the Florentine, and it did not disappoint. My husband had the Mediterranean omelette (which of course I tasted)... very tasty! We subbed our hash browns for a corned beef hash and pancakes, both delicious! The potatoes in the hash were nice and crispy, and loved the fluffy pancakes. We will definitely come back next time we are in the area! read more

Lena's has incredible gluten friendly options!!! Most of the pancake and waffle dishes can be made GF!! It's usually very busy, and they do not take reservations, but the wait is well worth it. I have waited anywhere from 5-35 mins on a Saturday late AM- early afternoon. You can join the waitlist when your entire party has arrived at the restaurant. There is a bar in the same building, a few doors down that you can also wait at while you wait for your table. Very breakfast diner vibes. read more

This place is in an office building. It's is very unique. They have a multitude of breakfast options and portions are large. Coffee was served right when we sat down and was good, not watered down. Our waitress came right up too. If you like French toast there are about 15 options with jazzy to berries or just cinnamon and sugar. Omelet options are plentiful as well. It is open until 3. I love Lena's omelets. I frequently get their "Southern Omelet" smothered in their tasty sausage gravy. The portions on all their menu items are always huge and we always end up getting a "to go" container to savor their awesome food one more time at home. A Great Spot for a Hearty Breakfast My family discovered Lena's Kitchen this past weekend and we knew it would be good by the size of the crowd waiting in the large lobby. Luckily, the wait wasn't too bad--about 25 minutes, which is very reasonable for a popular spot on a Sunday morning. The food lived up to the hype. It's not a fancy place, but they serve solid, satisfying breakfast dishes at decent prices. Portions were huge--enough to take some home for leftovers. We came to this unique little restaurant, built into the side of an office space and it was adorable! The service was so prompt and patient as my mom ordered herself (English is her second language). The food was generously portioned. Amazing service (Holly is the best), delicious food, fast service, breakfast, lunch, you name it. Portions were generous and prices very reasonable. Been to Lena's 3 times now. Food has been excellent. Tried both the Philly Cheesesteak omelette and the Irish omelette. Service is good and attentive, but at the same time pushy. Expected to order right away and before you receive a drink order (e.g. cup of coffee). After you receive the bill, you are asked periodically "do you need anything else". This has been true with no one waiting for a table and the restaurant 1/2 full. I have not been able to crack the code of getting a good seating assignment. Next time, I will just ask for a booth and/or push back. Perhaps the regulars get priority or there is waitress coverage scheme behind the scenes. Today, 2 of us were seated at a table vs. the multiple available booths and next to a table of 3 with some kids who clearly did not want to be there and the father chose to let them use the booth and surrounding area as a jungle gym. Again, plenty of room, plenty of tables. As a customer, having some space and being comfortable is also important and yes, probably impacting the goal of filling a specific section. read more

Lena's is fine, not great, and somewhat disappointing. Long heralded as a prime breakfast place I struggle to agree with the hype. It used to be very good but no so much anymore. The last time I dined here before yesterday was about 2 years ago and I was equally underwhelmed then, which is why I hadn't returned in 2 years. I ordered corned beef hash yesterday, which is one of my favorite breakfast dishes. It was nothing but hash browns with some diced up corned beef, it was flavorful enough and I admit they served a very generous portion, but I was expecting onions and peppers. Something more than just potatoes and corned beef. This restaurant has a section on the breakfast menu with a variety of hashes--that section does not include the corned beef hash--so I was expecting far more than I got. My husband had fried eggs and ham. He said that the eggs were cooked as he likes them. We shared a pancake and it was tasty. Nothing wrong with this place. But also nothing outstanding. We saw a few people leave after learning that the entire party must be present in order to be seated. We're accustomed to this rule and don't mind it. It's truly understandable considering the popularity of this place; however, the sign could be more presentable. The food? I'll let the pics speak for themselves. Went here for brunch and this place was busy! It's hard to see it from the outside since it's in the lobby of a hotel, but they have several large signs in the parking lot that help you find it. The place is clean and pleasant and has a good decor. I loved the taste of their Hollandaise sauce!! Their Omelette was tasty too. My son liked their French toast and also the sausage. I am not a fan of Oreo Pancakes but my wife likes it and she got that as a side for an additional charge instead of the regular pancakes that come with the Griddle / Skillet. OK, I haven't been here in a while. My girlfriend wanted to go here. I have to honestly say the food was pretty good. However, Tina the waitress was extremely rude from the moment we walked in. My friend had just got back from a vacation and I wanted to hear about her trip so I told her we were just gonna have a quick cup of coffee before we ordered food. I got an eye roll. A few minutes later, she was standing there drinking coffee herself and I asked her if we could please have a little more coffee and then she proceeded to talk to her coworker said something sarcastic about us gave me another eye roll and gave us more coffee. Usually I tip between 20 and 35%. I actually left her nothing because she made me so mad. They need to work on being nicer to their customers. You are not the only breakfast place in town. The waiting area is in the lobby of the office complex. We came here on a Sunday and it was incredibly busy we put our name in and probably wait a solid 20 minutes. This is the first time that I've been here that I've tried to come here twice before and had to wait way too long beyond the 20 minutes and couldn't get in. The portions in here were very big and I think that's where the excitement comes from people that come here Because your pictures were big. I wouldn't say that this is the most quality like breakfast food, but the size of plates is what attracts most of the people here. Overall, it was a decent experience you sat down to order everything happened pretty quickly.
