My Mother-in-Law loves visiting Cracker Barrel. She enjoys shopping, the staff, and always having her favorite breakfast foods. I appreciate that the people are always willing to be kind and helpful to her. She has lots of questions and comments, and they people always take the time to chat with her. That means so much to me as she is less and less able and willing to go out and about. She is always excited to go visit Cracker Barrel! This Cracker Barrel is right off of the interstate, so it is almost always busy. Thankfully, there are plenty of distractions to keep one distracted while waiting on a table. The food is reliable. My husband got a to-go baked potato for me this evening. The potato was massive, and I was looking forward to having it for dinner. I stuck my fork in to break it up and it didn't move very easily... aaallll the way down both sides. I was able to find 1/4" spot that was cooked on the end. That forkful was seasoned well. Did not enjoy my time here or the wait for the sit-down or food. The employees were understaffed and rude.

We arrived just before they closed and departed before they opened, having had dinner not far away at Blue Ghost and got something later on the highway. Yes, this Cracker Barrel tolerates overnight RV parking in their lot and that's pretty awesome. Quite a lot of noise here from the highway and it is not an easy parking lot for larger vehicles. Some four-wheelers don't understand "RV Parking" and so you may be SOL if you're in a Class A or towing. Otherwise, a good stop and thanks, Cracker Barrel. I owe you a breakfast! She said the wait would be 15 minutes which was actually longer. The food took a long time to be served and was barely warm. The server Lilly was very sweet and accommodating and brought a whole new plate of food for my partner. ( I was okay with lukewarm food.) The manager Robin came to the table to make sure everything was acceptable. She was polite and gracious. The staff including Danielle were working under very stressful conditions and maintained a friendly and relaxed attitude. They comped my partner's food! Who even does that anymore?! I normally LOVE Cracker Barrel. I stop in at least once per long distance trip. Always great inside the restaurants and unfortunately for my wallet, the retail area has seen me quite a bit as well. So yes, this Yelp is ONLY for a current complaint. Today, for the first time ever, I ordered take out from the Arden, NC location. I dont know why. I woke up feeling lazy and decided not to just pour some milk on my Wheaties. So I ordered breakfast to go. Which is a HORRIBLE idea in general, bcuz who wants to warm up eggs, etc. But I thought if a place had a chance of getting it right, it would be good old reliable Cracker Barrel. $66 later (WHAT ON EARTH!?!), my order of two large breakfasts featuring eggs, breakfast meat, side, and biscuits and gravy, came without the, you guessed it, BISCUITS. It also didn't come with the EXTRA side of sawmill gravy I paid for. At 8 am on a Wednesday, I doubt they were out. Especially as it was part of the meal, not a complimentary basket. And I could have ordered entrees that came without the biscuits and gravy for $4 cheaper. So now you got me for $4 x 2 meals, plus no side gravy for $2.50. $10+ for things I didnt receive. And more importantly not the meal or experience I expected. The kicker at Cracker Barrel, however, is that they have a to go QUALITY CHECKLIST to verify that everything is in the bag. Except they failed to use it. Disappointing and irritating. I think I'll avoid CB for awhile. I'll definitely not order to go in the future. If this location can't handle to go, which seems to be a consistent complaint now that I read Yelp reviews of this location, it seems they should either shut down to go, which I'm sure corporate wont allow them to do, or have a manager complete all to go orders. read more

You know that it's going to be good when you find a Cracker Barrel, the steak and eggs were delicious, far more seasoned than I was use to, but it was even better, the steak was just like I like it, and the extras were so much that my wife was even full. Had lunch today at this location w/ a friend. Service was great and food was good with one exception. My friend ordered hasbrowns from the grill which they upcharge a $1. My friend felt like the hashbrowns were overcooked which can be a subjective thing I know. Server was very accomondating and got him a replacement order. Charged $1.40 for CHEESE ON GRITS and when I spoke to the manager saying that the server did not mention there was a charge. She only kept asking if we wanted to add this and that. Nor did the menu say there was a charge. The managers response was "well know next time cheese costs". No sorry, nothing. He was honestly bothered by having to speak to a customer. Didn't matter that I explained the person that was charged this was special needs. So I guess they'll take advantage of anyone and not care. Their loaded potato said $1.99 on the menu but turns out it's $3.50 on its own($1.99 for add on). They definitely need to revise their menu with all these charges. If it's not listed it's not exactly legal to charge. American companies used to pride themselves in customer service but by god that's not the same anymore. read more

It's a Cracker Barrel, what can I say? CB is one of the few places where you can have an excellent breakfast at any time of the day. You can have your pick of various combinations of smoked bacon, eggs cooked your way, grits and butter, toast, biscuits and gravy, etc. Their lunch and other menu items start around 11 a.m. CB has one of the best hashbrown casseroles around, and I love the spicy grilled fish - YUM! You can find some healthy options on the menu, including low-carb so don't let your diet stop you from visiting. The traditional CB Country Store is here as well, so even if you have to wait for a table you have plenty of stuff to view, look at and maybe even buy! read more

The most interesting part of the Cracker Barrel is the store. Visited the location during the Christmas holidays and the store was nicely decorated for the season. All kinds of interesting things for sale, not your usual tourist merchandising. Some thought was put into the items for sale to match the decor and theme of the restaurant. Beautiful selection of old fashioned candy and chocolates. The food itself is average. The dining room has the same old country feel. Even the waitress serving us had that same welcoming and country style demeanour. I can't really recommend Cracker Barrel for the food. But it may be worth a visit just for the country theme experience they have created. read more

Makes no sense that you have a location that close to the airport that serves breakfast and they don't open until 8:00am. Wrong hours posted as well. Consistently inconsistent. It is so frustrating that every time we visit this location we have a different type of customer experience. Whether it's the food/beverage quality, portion size or service it's always something. Over the past year we have eaten here more than 20 times and one time will be good the next time it's a hot mess, again and again ... At least at this location the manager is proactive in trying to address issues that occur. I love Cracker Barrel and we try to stop whenever we travel and it's lunch time. One of the biggest reasons I stop is because you can order breakfast anytime of the day. My favorite thing to order is The Country Boy. It has a huge piece of country ham, along with eggs, grits, apples, hash browns, saw mill gravy and hot biscuits. It doesn't get much better. read more

Worst experience ever at a cracker barrel restaurant. I am not feeling well and thought some nice comfort food was in order. Decided to order from cracker barrel which is just up the road from us. I went online, which I thought would be most efficient, and after fully placing my order it deleted everything. I made a second attempt and the same thing happened a second time. I decided to call in a order. pushed the selection for to go orders and after waiting for ever it put me back at the start of the loop. It mentioned using the phone app and since I have it on my phone thought I would give it a try. ordered everything on my phone only to have it delete everything again. So it's probably been a good 10 to 12 years since we've been in a Cracker Barrel, probably going back to the segregation lawsuit. But in North Carolina today, we decided to give it a try. We came in for breakfast and had a couple of the grandmother breakfasts and a couple of the grandfather breakfasts. On the grandfather breakfast we had both the chicken fried steak and the chicken fried chicken. Both the steak and the chicken were cooked beautifully. The grits were just all right but everything else was right on point. The hash brown casserole was really, really good and the pancakes and eggs were also cooked wonderfully. Our food took extremely long to come out. I'm not sure if it was because we were the only Asian people there, but our food should not have taken over 30 minutes to come out. As we sat there, we watched everyone else receive their food before us. On top of that, all other tables received a plate of biscuits prior to their food arriving. I sat there with my boyfriend with nothing but two glasses of water and some very weak coffee. When the food came out, it was as if it had been sitting there for a while. My grits had a film on top of it. My hash brown casserole had formed a hardened cheese crust and my scrambled eggs were not hot. After leaving a $1 tip because of my experience, I could hear the disdain from the cashier who said, "A dollar tip". If only she knew what kind of experience I had in the dining room. This store has the worst customer service ever! I put my name on the wait list and got to the store and waited another 45 minutes before I got seated because the kitchen was "backed up". Upon getting seated we were told Mary would be right with us. She came out and got our drink order but we sat there for another 10-15 without drinks! For this store to be so busy the servers were in the back laughing, the food was lined up across the back instead of being taken out to the customers, and the manager was in the front talking instead of going to help her people get of the "weeds"!
