We have stopped here a few times through the years when heading home from upstate and it is so good every time. On the weekends expect a long wait. The country store when you first walk in is really great. So many items and throwback candy. Service is usually always pretty quick. Food is always hot and you'd get a great amount. Ordered him a dinner this time and he received 1 thin slice of meatloaf. I was waiting to try this place out for almost a year and its satisfying to say it was worth it. Mac and cheese was on point. If you like mac and cheese ask for two sides. The chicken potions are huge and crispy. No let's talk about the bill. I figured the nice restaurant, the store connected, parking and the large portion of food that the bill would of been close to $100 for the 3 of us. Boy was I wrong. The bill was $35. First experience at Cracker Barrel was an interesting one. Coming from Manhattan on our way to apple picking it felt a little like a time warp with the decor and atmosphere of the restaurant. Think IHOP meets Denny's. WAIT: We came around noon on a Saturday and for our group of 8 it was estimated to be a 50 minute wait. After 30 minutes or so, we were seated even though half our group wasn't there yet. ATMOSPHERE: Feels like a diner in the south or in the countryside. The atmosphere is lively, lots of space, lots of groups and people bustling everywhere. They have peg board games at the table for people to play with. The entrance is the huge country store which is fun to browse while you wait. FOOD: They serve breakfast all day as well as lunch when we got there. If you don't get the breakfast menu just ask for it. The menu is very expansive and they have just about everything. Things you order come with multiple side dishes, which is nice. The prices are also so cheap! For New York standards, you're paying $10-11 for a ton of food. SUNRISE SAMPLER - I opted for breakfast because I really enjoy breakfast foods and this one seemed like too good of a deal to pass up. It was about $8 for a slice of bacon, sausage, country ham, 2 eggs, biscuits, grits, gravy, hash brown casserole and fried apples. When I got my dish, I could see why it was so cheap since it's 1 slice of bacon, a small sausage patty and a small country ham. Regardless though, I was stuffed towards the end. MEATS: the bacon was good, the sausage was maybe a little on the saltier side and is a round patty, the country ham is salty and good, like the kind you get at thanksgiving. BISCUITS: they were slightly disappointing in that they were a little too soft and doughy (Popeyes is still really good) and had a slightly off aftertaste. Their jam and butters are from a package, not housemade. CORN MUFFINS: also was able to try this and it was basically like corn bread, but maybe a little less sweet? Pretty good if you enjoy cornbread. GRITS: I'm never a fan of grits, it was too bland. GRAVY: Good to put with your biscuits or your meats to make it a little less salty, and those that got chicken fried steak had extra to put on their meals. FRIED APPLES: basically the filling of an apple pie, they left the skin on, which I didn't like but it was sweet and mushy. HASHBROWN CASSEROLE: very good, it's shredded potatoes with onions and cheese made into a little lasagna like square. Overall, a good deal and definitely a good deal but the overall tastes were just A-OK. read more

I am so happy to say that this location has MUCH improved and it went from a two star to a five star in my opinion. The last three or four times we have gone here have been amazing. The servers have been very attentive, the food has come out fairly quickly and has been hot, plentiful and delicious. And of course the general store has something for everyone and we cannot leave without browsing and at least bringing home some nostalgic candy. Wait time was 25-35 minutes ... it was a Sunday so that's normal. 25 minutes and we were called and seated Our waitress was not there yet but we did get a nice waitress to get our drink order. The restaurant was clean and full of people After a few minutes a waitress came over to take our order she was a bit nervous. We upgraded to the house salad and got a side . The side of the day was boiled cabbage We tried the new southern fried chicken.. She came back after a few minutes and aid there was no blue cheese dressing or boiled cabbage.. Sigh . Cracker Barrel is just a terrific place to come with a family to get pretty good food at a great price. Whether you're in the mood for breakfast at any hour of the day, or some biscuits and sawmill gravy........the menu is vast and the staff at any location I've ever visited has been very friendly. The gift shop also smells so good it makes you want to have a seat and relax for a while........it's also has plenty of retro candy from yesteryear to bring you back to a simpler time. I find it funny Cracker Barrel prides themselves on their "inclusiveness" or whatever because what just happened to me and my mother was disgusting. Stopped in to Oder delivery and everyone just kept either ignoring us or passing us off saying "o someone's coming to take your order". Why is it a specific person to take a take out order ? That's nonsensical in these times man. And to make matters worse is that other customers saw us waiting and let the waitress know and she responded with "yea I know" and snickered. Years back my husband and I used to drive from New York to Florida for vacation. That's how we discovered Cracker Barrel. We would always stop at one of their locations for a bite, and always enjoyed ourselves. The last time we went to a location in Fishkill. The food was horrible. Not worth spending hard earned money on. There are no options for people who have food allergies. Also if you have high blood pressure, the food is overly salted. I'm done with this chain. read more

Do you like the color grey? Well, you'd better, because that's all you'll be eating. You don't go into any Cracker Barrel with high expectations for ambiance, so I'm not making any marks about that. You fully expect screaming kids not being controlled by their parents, checkers rolling across the floor, a sticky table full of weird games and signs, and a general feeling of American Horror Story by way of Little House on the Prairie. That's fine. You even expect that their idea of a good ol' American salad would have less vegetables than it does cheese and bacon. Fine. What is less expected is the low, low quality of the food overall. I ordered a ribeye, medium rare, that was less than half an inch thick. I'm pretty convinced that it was a flank steak that was cooked to a moment before it turned into leather, and it was about half fat. And because you order a truly repulsive, misleading, and yet more expensive steak, you somehow give up your right to the three sides that come with every meal. Can I call bullshit? Granted, the tiny mashed potato dollop was fine. My girlfriend's meal was just bland slop. She restrained her disappointment until we got to the car, at which point she screamed, with the windows rolled up so as not to offend the spirits of the colonial soldiers that still wander these hills, "OH MY GOD THAT WAS SO DISGUSTING!" Cracker Barrel's are few and far between on the West Coast, so our recent trip to NY brought not a little excitement to have a "down-home" meal at this locale. While portions of the meals we ordered were quite good, there were also some items sub-standard. By far, however, our experience suffered from terrible service. The young gentleman who was our server was friendly, but personality only gets you so far, and apparently it doesn't bring you back to the table you're serving without being begged and practically tackled. He could not remember what items were ordered by whom and 5 out of the 7 dinners we ordered had something either wrong or missing. One side dish never did arrive. One soup was served lukewarm and had to be returned. Coffee and sodas were so begrudgingly refilled you might have thought it was war time rations. The chicken fried steak was nice and tender, but a hallmark of the dish, the sausage gravy, was so sparse it almost seemed like it had accidentally been spilled on rather than purposely spooned. The catfish was ordered by one in our party and it seemed like the best dish of them all. The fried apples were sweet and juicy and made for a nice dessert. The restaurant was clean. read more

Went here this morning with my friend. 40 minute wait for the two of us. Certainly wasn't expecting that on a random Monday morning but they were still operating at limited capacity due to covid so totally understandable. Our server was super nice and helpful. I got the grandmas sampler: two pancakes, well done eggs, bacon, ham, sausage and hash brown casserole. My friend got mommas frenchtoast: French toast, well done eggs, sausage, and a side of fried apples. Food was spectacular and super flavorful. Pancakes were light and crispy. French toast was cooked perfectly! The fried apples really sealed the deal and were delicious!Ham and bacon nice and crispy. Sausage was okay, would most likely not get the sausage again. I really liked the individual syrup bottles. They also had sugar free syrup which I was super appreciative of. The ketchup came in a to go cup, assembly because of covid protocols. We walked in and were automatically accosted by several employees to wear a mask, even though dutchess county isn't enforcing the mask mandate and the current governor doesn't have the power to leaglly implement a mandate. But that aside we were seated quickly and the waitress came over and took our order. we ordered food and drinks and received our food BEFORE we even received our drinks or silverware. At least 5 employees walked by and looked at our table and 10 minutes later we still had no silverware and my husband NEVER received the salad he ordered. Broke my heart....hoping third time was a charm. I am going to have to give up on trying to smear at this particular location. Third time showing up on a Tuesday night and having to wait 32 minutes for a seat. Actually I didn't get a seat. I left however prior to leaving I walked through the restaurant and counted 13 open (clean) tables all within the two open areas. I was told manager is working the kitchen so they would not be able to speak with me. I left and two other families followed. I love Cracker Barrel and this is the closet I get to a fair meal as I am currently staying in a hotel (for another two months). Please get back to the norm. So disappointing. read more

So we walk in to put our Reservations and went outside to wait until they call us in. Where there was a Collection Rocking chair, that was so cool. So as soon as they called us. Never had eaten at a Cracker Barrel before and decided to stop by for breakfast. Great service, amazing chicken, and positive atmosphere. I will definitely come back and dine in at this restaurant. I even ordered delivery a week later for diner and everything was placed neatly in containers, they provided napkins/utensils/butter everything most places forget or don't care to check for customers. I've been to multiple Cracker Barrels and this one produces the same yummy food at a great price. I go to this location because it happens to be the closest one to me. I feel bad rating it a 3 because on a breakfast scale they are close to a 5, but in comparison to higher quality restaurants they can only be so good. I almost always get the blueberry pancakes with a side of hashbrown casserole. They never disappoint, I find myself craving them most days. Between the blueberry syrup and the batter they use for the pancakes your sweet tooth will definitely be satisfied. Today I got a side of fruit and it was very fresh and just the perfect amount. My boyfriend ordered the regular buttermilk pancakes and a side of hashbrown casserole. I had to give him some of my casserole because he was sad he downed his before he even touched his pancakes! The sweetened iced tea is what you would expect, throw in Splenda and a lemon and you're all set! As far as Cracker Barrels go, this was one of the best I've ever visited. Maybe it was the time of day I was there (around 2 pm) but it was not busy and the service was outstanding. Our server was very attentive, and even made suggestions to make our CB experience better. Now, I go to Cracker Barrel so I can be a fat ass, but having someone being attentive and not being totally overbearing is something I can truly enjoy at any establishment. Plus, this one was one of the few that is not in the middle of nowhere - there are many other establishments nearby. I doubt I will get up here again to patronize this Cracker Barrel but it was very good. read more

I went for lunch with my family and its just so quaint and charming. The shop had such cute odds n ends i wanted to buy it all. The place was packed and food was yummy.
