Zero stars would be correct. Two times in the last 3 months I have placed an order by phone and the store tried to RIP me off. Ordered 2 lunches at 2:07 p.m. set pickup at 2{30. Got there at 2{25 went in, got in line and when it was my turn to pay she said it would be $28. .6.50 X 2 is $13 plus 2 cokes should have been $21- $22 dollars. This was the second and LAST time I try Cr5acker Barrel. They just can not get my simple lunch order right. The time before the attempted bill was $32 for the same lunch. SORRY management. All restaurants now seem to be struggling with labor and morale. You can just tell how the little things are missed. Who knows if this gets fixed or not, but The CB is Conway Arkansas had an amazing server named Lexy who made us feel welcomed and was attentive and timely. The food is always good at CB too! We went with the veggie plate. The hash brown casserole was not good due it being dried out and moderately warm, but the other items and the cornbread made up for it. We went to this Conway, Ar Cacker Barrel on Thanksgiving evening. First of all, we waited about 20 minutes just to get our water. Secondly, they had no dumplings or biscuits. Never got the dumplings and after about 20 more minutes the waiter brought burnt cold biscuits. When we said something about the biscuits the waiter said he would bring us some more. He never did. They also did not have the salad that we ordered. When I ask to speak to the manager, he adjusted our bill only $5.24. Very frustrating evening. read more

Onward I march through Conway's eating establishments with a stop at the Cracker Barrel for some good,family-style Southern food that left me quite suprised. Suprised as in I didn't think a chain restaurant/gift shop would be all that great from past experiences with other such businesses. But I was wrong. The menu is extensive and very reasonably priced..I had the Chicken and Dumplings Platter with the choice of three vegetable sides. I went with the fried okra, kernaled corn and cole slaw. That all came with corn bread and buttermilk biscuits and tea. I was suddenly back in my momma's kictchen in Alabama on a muggy summer evening as she made the very same dish for our family. The platter held several tender pieces of chicken enfolded among the lightest of dumplings. The okra was lightly fried but not greasy or heavy, I think I would have preferred corn on the cob for more freshness and the cole slaw was crunchy and sweet. The biscuits were heavenly..I could have just eaten those all night. And my bill was just over $10. I didn't even get to the Peach cobbler or Blackberry Pie but I did sample an exquisite Fried Apples! I'm writing this at 9 a.m. the next day and I'm still not completely hungry yet. They say the breakfast is a gut-buster as well. If it's crowded, you can sit in one of the many rocking chairs on their long 'porch' while waiting..they're for sale too at $129! read more

Cracker Barrel started off my fried food gorgeathon in AR. While waiting outside watching the hobbled masses moo their way into the establishment I felt I had my work cut out for me as a massage therapist. People...you don't have to live this way. Stand up, do a light backbend, breathe. It helps Cracker Barrel digest better. I had the chicken tenders with fried okra and mustard greens. It was quick, simple, easy and the greens gave me the illusion that I was doing something healthy for myself. I love the placebo effect. While I'm on the road I love cracker barrel. Absolutely terrible first-impression. We waited an hour only to be told by the waiter that he never sent the order through! The waiter did not give us silverware or coffee creamer and not once did he come to check on us during that one hour interval. We stopped here to eat lunch. It was very close to empty around 11:30 am. They seated us near the door and a member of our party had a walker which people had to walk around. It was clumsy place to sit. My meal was fried chicken. The chicken was so crispy it appeared to be reheated or frozen before frying again. Not good! The fried catfish was overdone. Conway, Arkansas. Not what I was told... My breakfast was well below expectations. I had the Grandma's Sampler, and it was not very good. The eggs were runny, the ham was salty, hard and cold. Couldn't eat the under cooked greasy bacon. The sausage was good. The fried apples were real good. I wish I could say the same about the pancakes. They were so rubbery I had to cut it with a knife, the fork by itself wouldn't do it. The tables are extremely small. We were a party of four and the server could bearly accommodate the plates. It was a very clean and organized store and in the restaurant we were quickly seated. Candace was our very friendly and efficient server. Candace made excellent recommendations and made sure we were all well fed and felt at home. She is a gem and whatever they pay her, she deserves more or a promotion! We bought several items in the store where we were met by cashier, Joshua who remains calm and funny when things get a little crazy busy. Love the biscuits and gravy hit the spot. I'd been to other Cracker Barrel's and had a good experience. Sad to say, the Conway experience was pretty poor. Long wait on food; when it finally came out the food was barely warm. The carrots were like mush. I asked for a side order of gravy but by the time the waitress finally brought it out we were done eating. Apparently the kitchen had run out and had to make some more (at least that's what she said.) The biscuits and cornbread was good. The breaded chicken was moist but about 30% breading. People have been complaining about Cracker Barrel lately, but the one in Conway Arkansas exceeded every expectation I have ever had. Not only was the meal of chicken and rice with mushroom gravy delicious, but the service at my table by Katie was exceptional. Then, when I entered the gift shop I was greeted with such hospitality. Lacey, though set up to serve samples of soda, enjoyed helping me find just the right tops on the racks of boutique style clothing. Every request I made was greeted with delight. Even when I accidentally spilled my tea in my to go cup, the ladies did not chastise. They simply went to work cleaning my spill. This was an amazing experience, and I firmly advocate anyone's stop at this Cracker Barrel! I don't think you will be disappointed. read more

We had a good experience here. When you enter the restaurant, you walk through their store first. They had a lot of things to look at. The food was "country style" with many choices of entrees and sides. I ordered the fried chicken salad which was huge. I got through a little more than half and it was good. I was with three other people who all ordered different things and enjoyed their meals. Our waitress was attentive and very accommodating. On the way out we looked through the store and bought a few things. This was a good place to stop for a rest, and have a nice meal. read more

Man, I used to go here as a kid and looooved it. Not anymore. I've been going to college here in town for a while and occasionally make trips over to the CB for old time's sake. The second to last time i went there (for mother's day) it was horrible. The waitress kept disappearing and everything was meh. Oh well. A few weeks ago the boy and I decided to give it another shot because we were just in the mood for some soul food. It started okay...we were seated, and within less than 2 minutes the girl wanted to know our orders. If you are familiar with the place you know the options are endless. We asked if we could have more time to look, she seemed put out, but left and came back 2 more times without really giving us time to look at anything. Okay, you want to get a higher turnover for tips, but geez, it was kinda how you feel when you're in a store and the people just follow you around without giving you time to look. So we order and they didn't have what the boy wanted. So he ordered something else. After a normal wait to receive your food they brought out my meal only and then a few minutes later came out and informed my boyfriend that they didn't have the second entree he ordered...and that he would have to pick something else. So... they put in our orders, had time to cook mine completely... and THEN decided to come tell us that his wasn't going to be made. As she was explaining this to us they brought out his sides only. She asked if he would like to order a different entree...obviously he did, he didn't just want sides. He asked for brisket this time (3rd order now) and she informed him that his previous order came with 3 sides (which had already been given to him with no main entree) but that the brisket only came with 2, and he would need to order something else with 2 sides...even though it was their fault. He explained that he wasn't really interested in any of the others with 2 sides and he would give them back one of the sides if he had to (JEEEZ...). She again looked put out and went to ask a manager if that was okay and apparently it was. So he kept his 3 sides and they went to make his brisket. She comes back later (i'm almost done with my meal at this point) and he still has not been given the brisket...and she makes the incredible mistake of saying, and I quote... "You're order should be here soon, they are just warming it up....uhhh....I mean, cooking it...." She knew she screwed up as soon as it came out of her mouth - and it showed. We both just looked at each other, looked at her ...I don't think we could have possibly hidden the disgust on our faces. So now we've waited this whole time, i've finished my meal, he hasn't even gotten his (3rd try) entree...and now we learn that they aren't even cooking it fresh...they are just going to throw it in a microwave. I guess i should have expected this... When it does, finally, show up at the table it is the most nasty looking brisket I have ever seen. Seriously. It was so thin you could see right through it...and it was doused in grease. So he got a few thinner-than-bacon strips of brisket on a bed of two pieces of texas toast which he couldn't eat because they were SOAKED in oil from the brisket and way, way too much butter. Yea, that was just too much. I know some locations are better than this but I will NEVER return to the Conway store...and honestly... after the microwaveable meals insinuation I can't say I'll ever go back to any of them... read more

We love a good visit to Cracker Barrel occasionally, but this visit wasn't our best experience. We waited more than 20 minutes before someone noticed we hadn't been helped. The food was good, but we didn't get the biscuits we asked for, only cornbread. Still a good experience overall. read more

Passing through the area on our trip back East, we were excited to eat at a Cracker Barrel and we weren't disappointed. The biscuits and gravy hit the spot! This was a very good place to eat for several years after opening. The last three times we have tried it, it seems to have either lost it's taste for quality or needs a new cook. Always great eating here. It's a little pricey if u add something tho. I ordered hash browns w ham and cheese in them and it was almost $10. Charged me $5 an something bc i added ham to them. Have eaten at a lot of Cracker Barrels. Stopped at this one recently on a trip to Little Rock. My husband and I both ordered grilled chicken tenders. Both were SO burned with such a hard, blackened crust they were impossible to cut or eat. It was lunch time and they were really busy, but that food should never have come out of the kitchen and the waiter should never have served it. We mentioned that they were pretty grim.......they didn't charge us for the ONE soft drink we had ordered. It's a good thing we already have a giant checker set because we won't be going back, at least to this one. read more
