Very good cajun food with great service. Its rather large and hosts a large number of people. Not entirely too expensive for a night out.

Our first ever visit to Conway and we definitely picked the right spot to enjoy dinner! Don't let the simple name of the place fool you, Mike's Place isn't nearly as casual as it sounds!! The atmosphere is casual, the food is not, it's very upscale, fancy and delicious! We started with a couple Manhattan's and the Parmesan Zucchini Fries. Having a cocktail in a dry county is special but those crispy, tender strips of zucchini were even more special, like no other fried zucchini I've ever had! The house salads arrived shortly after the appetizer and they were loaded with goodies for being the lagniappe (Cajun word used for side dish). Entree's arrived just as we finished our salads, perfect timing, and were perfect! I had the ultimate shrimp platter so I could try three of the shrimp and all three were delicious. Hubby's steak was cooked perfect temp and the blackened seasoning was nice and spicy. Service from Russel was top notch, he was super attentive and very kind. We'll become regulars for sure as we'll be in the area for awhile. Can't wait to try the crab cake and so many other things on the expansive menu. read more

It was our first time dining there, and we had driven nearly an hour and a half to get there because it was a special occasion. We read reviews and thought we'd eat there. We arrived at 7:15pm and told that it would be over an hour wait for the dining room or we could sit in the bar area immediately, so we chose the bar area. Our server came to take our drink order while we looked at the menu. I asked about the beer on tap and was told that it was local craft brewers, I asked if Coors Light in the bottle was available and was told yes. I ordered that and was asked if I wanted a glass with it and I said no that I preferred to drink out of the bottle. Well, in a few minutes, another server brought my wife's glass of wine and my beer IN A GLASS! I distinctly ordered my beer in the bottle, but I decided to drink it anyway since the restaurant was so busy. After a few sips I noticed an odd taste that I couldn't quite put my finger on. Almost a soapy taste. When our server came for our order, I brought his attention to the beer being in a glass and not how I ordered. He said that he would correct it. He took our order, we both ordered the Ribeye cooked medium. When it came time for our salads, my wife had hers promptly but mine wasn't. We had to remind our server twice before my salad arrived, but it came about 2 minutes before our steaks. So naturally because of the size of the table we were at, I couldn't eat my salad. (We were at a small table for 2) Just as I thought that things would be better, my steak was so chewy that I couldn't enjoy it. Now I realize that it was Friday night and y'all were extremely busy, but come on now, $50 for a Ribeye that was the quality of something you would get at Texas Roadhouse or Logan's? Came in for a Sazarac and a snack and was pretty disappointed. The Sazarac was over ice and was strongly flavored with the absinthe, which is typically a rinse on the glass. The crab cake... well first thing iceberg lettuce is in the news giving people explosive diarrhea but it was a good idea to garnish my plate with dead iceberg lettice. The crab didn't taste like fresh crab and it was full of fillers. Not what I'm use to. The atmosphere was meh. The restaurant itself was clean and pretty. The service. Meh as well. Another win for dining in Conway. To finish out our stay here we had dinner with a high school friend of mine at this establishment. Besides the reviews here I had heard from a few locals that this place was a good place for dinner and nobody has anything bad to say about it. I'm happy to confirm that was the same result for us. We were seated quickly even without a reservation around 5:30 this evening. We ordered the bang bang shrimp for an appetizer and a round of cocktails. They were served fairly quickly considering how busy they were at the time. For dinner I got the pecan crusted white fish and my friend got the blackened white fish. Both tasted delicious which was great. My wife got a Cesar salad and a loaded bake potato and it was also good. The service was great as well. The waiter and other staff were very attentive and checked on us regularly. The overall feel of the place is casual upscale. It's nice without being fancy. It has kind of a rustic vibe to it that is nice to look at. We enjoyed our experience here and would come back again when we're in town. read more

Mike's Place continues to be consistently great experience with polite hostesses, attentive servers and delicious food. I've never been disappointed during any of my visits. You can make reservations or just walk in. They offer a variety of seating options. Bar, tables or booths. My favorite appetizers are sweet potato fries and Parmesan zucchini. Perfection in taste and serving sizes. During this visit I chose the rib eye steak . It was cooked to my request, flavorful and very tender. For my sides I chose a fully loaded potato and buttered corn Serving sizes are large, I have enough leftovers to take home for at least q more meal. It is a bit on the chilly side so bring a sweater or light jacket. Give Mike'S a try, you won't regret it. read more

My third visit. This one was much better. My prime rib was tender and juicy and I had enough for a lot of leftovers. Got the sweet green beans this time as my substitute for baked potato. Very good. Pleasantly surprised this time that the butter served with the rolls, was soft instead of rock hard like the last two times. My son got the Coconut Shrimp which he said were very tasty and his only complaint was that they were not jumbo as described just large. Annette was our server and she was outstanding. Much happier this time! I also took pictures of the menu as their prices have gone up and there's no 2026 menu anywhere. I would make one suggestion to the restaurant if they ever read reviews. The best prime rib I have ever had in my life, the entire outside was crusted in cracked black pepper and garlic which gave it an outstanding flavor. Might want to try that! read more

I attended a private event here for the first time, and it is such an adorable spot. Right in the heart of downtown, the holiday décor makes it feel straight out of a Hallmark Christmas movie. I ordered the pecan-encrusted whitefish with a raspberry bordelaise, along with sweet potato fries and parmesan spinach. I know you're probably thinking: raspberry on fish sounds questionable....but it was a pleasant surprise. The sauce added just the right touch of sweetness, and I can absolutely see why this is such a popular dish. I grabbed dessert to go and tried both the turtle cheesecake, which was rich and indulgent, and the crème brûlée, which was perfectly creamy. Once again Mike's Place for the win! Took our 15 year old to watch UCA volleyball and she requested a steak for dinner cuz she was hungry! So the wife and I took her to Mike's. Shrimp Brantley was a good first course appetizer! Avery and I just had to deal with not eating the french bread! My wife on the other hand are the bread in front of us after letting it soak up all that buttery goodness.... Just plain rude. Side salad was perfect as usual. Crawfish bisque was amazing! I could eat a gallon of that stuff. Avery had never had it before, and cleaned her cup. Prime rib came out looking a little over cooked so I was worried. I took the knife and made the first cut and was excited to see it wasn't! Perfect medium and so juicy! Both avery and I tore into our steaks, the wife ordered her standard filet and it was absolutely perfect! Avery tried to sneak a few bites of it! My wife and I have been to Mike's Place many times for many different occasions over the years. It's our go-to restaurant when we want delicious food and dependable service. The restaurant is decorated tastefully in a quaint New Orleans style, and the atmosphere is dress casual and calm, perfect for nice, quiet get together. The restaurant is not designed for a high volume of people, so reservations are best because they stay busy. As I mentioned, Mike's Place is New Orleans themed, and the menu reflects this style, but there are many delicious options. My wife and I made 6:00 pm reservations for our 41st wedding anniversary. We arrived around 5:45 pm but we were seated before 6:00. Our server, Dallas, was very friendly and attentive and took care of all our dining needs. We first ordered the Coconut Shrimp appetizer. This arrived quickly and was hot and well prepared. The Coconut Shrimp comes with a delicious dipping sauce. For our entrees, my wife ordered the Atlantic Salmon with fried okra and baked potato, all of which was served hot and well prepared. My wife has dairy allergies and she requested a butter substitute for the baked potato, and Dallas was able to provide margarine instead of butter. I ordered the Commodore's Platter, which comes with Lobster Tail, Dungeness Crab Claws, White Fish and Shrimp with salad and one side. You can get the seafood prepared grilled, blackened or fried. Even though a "platter" sounds like a lot of food, it was filling but not too much. This was another excellent experience at Mike's Place, and we'll definitely be back! read more

This place is great. My wife and I enjoyed our meal. Emma, our server was wonderful. My wife had the Club sandwich with Cajun fries and honey mustard dipping sauce. The fries were nice and hot and remained crunchy. The honey mustard sauce is one of the best around. I had the Prime Rib Dip with a side order of Parmesan Spinach. The Parmesan Spinach was awesome! Mike's Place is THE go to restaurant in Conway for birthdays, anniversaries, graduations, etc. It's a bit on the expensive side, especially if you add in appetizers, desserts, add-ons, etc. And I've always felt kind of judged by the waitstaff when hubby and I share an entree (to be honest, we're talking about sharing the largest prime rib cut). The food is always good. I've been here about half a dozen times and haven't yet had anything that I would not order again. Probably my biggest criticism is their treatment of leftovers. Many of their items either come with a sauce for dipping or else can be ordered with a sauce. But if you take that to go, they apparently don't have small containers for the sauces. Also, the take out containers are styrofoam so they tend to melt if you try to reheat your food in those. I feel like the prices they charge are in line with expectations of getting you money's worth which, for me, includes 'better' handling of leftovers. read more

We moved here from out of State a few years ago, and all the locals recommended as this is the place to go in Conway. We have been at least three times with our families and the food is always amazing. It's a little bit pricey but worth it. Would highly recommend. read more

Took the photo a little late because the shrimp was so good I couldn't stop eating it. We got the spinach dip and shrimp and cheese fritters as appetizers and I highly recommend both as they were phenomenal. The bread they bring out is also incredible. The service was so good and each course was brought out at the perfect time. Additionally I don't think my drink ever reached the bottom of the glass before they were around to refill it. It's a very nice restaurant but not pretentious type of nice which also made the experience great. I highly recommend this place if you are in the area! Finally made it to Mike's Place after hearing so many positive reviews from friends. We had the best time sitting at the bar and talking football with Ken. What a great guy! The lemon drop martini was the perfectly blended and the beer cold. The atmosphere is welcoming and comfortable. We ate from the lunch menu and had the steak burger and the prime rib sandwich with the au jus. The burger was very flavorful and cooked to perfection. The prime rib and au jus was phenomenal. I have heard great things about this place from a lot of people. So we decided to make reservations due to having family in town from out of state. As soon as we sat down we were greeted by our server. I didn't catch her name unfortunately. We didn't know what we wanted to drink and were waiting on a few more guests to arrive. We started off with water not getting a chance to look over the drink menu yet due to just sitting down. She seemed a little irritated that we didn't know quickly what we wanted. The other guests arrived and quickly noticed she seemed a little irritated as well that they didn't know what they wanted to drink right away. We finally decided and ordered our drinks. Now to the food menu, we were once again very rushed to try and figure out what we wanted to eat. She seemed to have an attitude pretty much the rest of the time we spent there. The food was ok, not what I expected due to all the good feedback. Then came time to pay. I gave her my card, she returned and announced that my card was blocked. I checked my phone to see maybe if my bank sent me a message due to it being a big charge and wanting to make sure it was in fact me making the charge. I received nothing. So i used my husbands card same account by the way. His went through. I called my bank as soon as i got home asking why my card was blocked? And it was not at all. They told me that there was never an attempted to charge my card from that restaurant. I tipped her $60 still even for horrible service. Fantastic top to bottom. In from St. Louis tonight. Downtown was pleasant as can be with easy parking for Mike's. The whole staff was very friendly and Mike spent a great deal of time with us talking about the restaurant and town. My coworker and I had the salmon and it was delicious. Tender and well-seasoned. Absolutely fantastic! We could tell just by the smell walking in the door- and the many local awards on the wall- we knew we were in for a treat!! Very accomodating- waitstaff was very attentive. Food was delicious. (I can personally recommend, very highly, the coconut shrimp!! Yum!!) And we had to try the fried green tomato appetizer, which was very tasty. Loved the ambiance. Ambiance was great, service was great and food was really good. I got the 2 bone pork chops and was pleasantly surprised. We are competition BBQ cooks and compete at a high level. As a result of our hobby we have naturally become more and more critical of restaurant food. These pork chops were tender, moist and cooked perfectly. The flavor was great! I would order them again! My wife had the ribeye and it was tender and cooked to order but could have used a little more seasoning. Mr Mike actually stopped by to see if everything was ok!
