Great food, casual atmosphere, generous portions and reasonable prices. It's a trek to get there but worth the drive. Service was fast and friendly but not rushed. If I lived closer I would put this place on my regular places to go list. read more

Was in town visiting family and they had brought this place up. The name alone is awesome so I figured it had to be good. Driving off into the woods of Arkansas pulled up and loved it. It's an Americano. It's exactly what you want in the country local place, but feels like home, we had the steaks which you must have cooked to perfection delicious a lot of options for home cooked sides. Enjoy. read more

Friend of mine told me to go here for the steak. The steak was excellent, the service was good and the price for what you got was fair. Had a shrimp cocktail to start with, nothing to write home about, but ok. Good salad, I got the Hudspeth 26oz Porterhouse with baked potato. Steak was done right, seasoned nicely and delicious. Baked potato was a little under-done, but I admit I'm picky. Sour cream, butter, condiments all come pre-packaged, which I'm not a fan of. I will come back for the steak and the very friendly service. Good beverage selection and overall a good dinner. Next time I'll try the ribeye! read more

We ate there tonight about closing time. The service was great even though it was about time for them to go home. The service was very good and we had no complaints about the food. This is about like an old bar type atmosphere with shuffleboard, bool bars tables and a live band. Very good all around. Kind of out of town a ways but worth the drive. This is not a chain. Old school for sure. You will either like it or not. No in between. read more

My new favorite place when I'm in the area! Tonight we had the best food, service and overall fantastic experience! We had the filet and fried mushrooms as well as the lava cake! All scrumptious....but what made it memorable and over the top was our delightful and friendly server, Hayley! She was so personable and fun and she made us want to come back every night! Add on the great music and bands they host.....This is a great experience! read more

Fun place to see. Steak was not prepared to my liking. The waiter didn't ask if I wanted mine taken back, so I ate it. I expected more because of price. It was almost closing time, so I blamed the dinner on that. Next time I go back, I'll get a burger. I like my burgers well done. Everyone was so nice. They need to sell t-shirts. We wanted one because of cute name. read more

Excellent food & friendly people. From Cali and 2nd time dinning there in 12 months. Calm relaxed rustic scenic atmosphere

"It'll be great!"--they said. "Don't dress up. It's really casual, but corporate dinners are held out there!"--they said. "Lose cell service and drive out into the middle of nowhere for the best steak in Arkansas."--they said. Well... I get it now and they were absolutely right! Admittedly, I was initially terrified. It's "country dark" at night- totally different from city dark- like pitch black dark, there are no street lights, there are winding roads and soft shoulders, until finally, you drive off-road to arrive at Toad Suck Buck's! Once out of the car, you see random dogs, a dirt parking lot, and what looks to be Deep South country living at its finest. (P.S. It would also appear that the hubs and I may have been the only black people within a 30 mile radius. It may not have been my best idea to visit a new place, deep in the woods at night, but it was my idea and we went with it! "Livin' on a prayer!" ... don't tell my mom!) Once inside, the place was teeming with people, there was live music, and (in a nutshell) it was the divey-est dive I've ever visited. And yes, we were the only black people in the building! I've said all that to say, the place is great. Ken and his wife (owners, and although they were super busy) made us feel right at home as soon as we walked in. Cody (their son) happened to be our waiter, and was warm and awesome in helping us become familiar with the "lay of the land" if you will! He talked us through the salad bar setup and, although an order of steak was a MUST, he helped us with our other menu choices. We ordered the ribeye and it was juicy, super tender, and flavorful. Mind you, I don't rant and rave over steak, ever. I usually don't even order steak as I'm more of a seafood girl, but I'll be back for that one. It's just that good. Right there at the table, the hubs and I were discussing the match up between Toad Suck Buck's and Ruth's Chris if that tells you anything at all! By the time Ken came by to ask how our meal was, it was gone. We'd hoovered it down, and were starting on the lava cake which was also DELISH! Upon leaving our table after a bit of small talk, Ken went over to sing few solos with the band (he has a beautiful voice by the way). I kinda' felt that TSB had a "Cheers" type of vibe going. As the hubs and I were leaving, Ken alerted us that he hadn't had adequate time to chat and invited us to stay a bit longer for drinks as the place was clearing out at this point and closing soon. How sweet is that? We stayed, and I'm so glad we did as we found out that Ken and the hubs share the same alma mater and were both also student athletes. As the saying goes, it's truly a small world. Class of 77' and class of 09'! We fell in love and selfies were taken! Ken and family were the nicest people and the absolute best hosts! While parking, we feared we might have to run for our lives, but ended up toasting our new friend and finding each other on Facebook! All in all... Great night, great people, great time! read more

Way of the beaten path, but the rib-eye was delicious and worth the drive. We will be back when we are in Conway.

We went here yesterday for lunch. Everything was absolutely wonderful! The salad bar was fresh and had quite a few options, everyone there was kind, prompt and had great personalities, not to mention that the steaks were absolutely phenomenal. I had a 8 ounce filet, ordered rare. It was one of the best steaks I've ever had in my life. It was just like butter melting in my mouth. It was one of those steaks that don't even need steak sauce. My boyfriend got the ribeye, and it was equally tasty. I definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for great steaks and unique atmosphere! read more

Toad Suck Bucks - My 8 oz. filet. So delicious! - American Near Me - Houston, Arkansas

I do have a three star for this place as of right now. We definitely want to give it another shot because later we found out they are known for their steaks. My husband ordered a chicken fried steak and I just ordered a shrimp platter and they were both very average nothing exciting. Our waitress was Helpful and on top of it in the beginning but once we got our food she disappeared went outside a couple times and we were just waiting for our check for 15 minutes after eating we also wanted to ask for a to go box. It was not busy. Finally I stood up and was about ready to go up to the counter and just try and pay there when she appeared. Going to try another night and hopefully we will have a little better experience. 0_0 read more

Heard a lot of positive thing about this little steak place out in the middle of nowhere... So finally decided to go. We knew it was going to be a hole in the wall joint with good Steaks and cold drinks. We were not let down. Be sure to get there early. There is limited amount of space in the dining room but if the weather is nice then just hangout on the patio with a cold drink. They have steak specials every night. From what I hear they have great burgers also. Natalie was our waitress and she was excellent. Will be going back as much as possible. read more

Very good steaks and nice atmosphere. Could use some cleaning up and updating but I suppose that might be part of the country draw.

The food is really good! The owners and staff are very friendly and welcoming!! We go about once a month.

I love toad sucks bucks for steak and fixins. I commonly host special events here and the team takes great care of us. Possibly the best bang for the buck steakhouse I've ever been to. Pun intended. ;-) read more

Buck's. Is. The. BEST. Seriously, the best steak I've had in the state and probably anywhere, and not near the priciest. Don't worry, you're not lost. Don't dress up. Don't be scared of the dogs. Don't be in a hurry. Just a good time waiting to happen!! Weddings performed by appointment. read more

Rustic atmosphere but the steaks are wonderful. They also seem very committed to covid 19 mitigation. We really enjoyed our visit.

Best steak ever! Great service! Out in the woods. Highly recommended! Food was great!! Friendly staff!!

when i grew up in conway, toad suck bucks wasn't around. now that i moved to san diego, a place with thousands of restaurants, one of the coolest places to eat and hang out springs up just outside of my home town. figures. my first time out to bucks was last summer during my fiance's first visit to arkansas. i think he could hear the banjo in the distance as we drove and drove and drove to the middle of nowhere. at one point he leaned over and whispered something about a scene from the movie deliverance. we pulled up to a place that kinda looks like a big storage shed by the river. when you go inside, its a pretty bitchin' little restaurant with both pool and picinic tables. i order a cheeseburger, and the rest of the family gets steak. well, everyone else except for my brother, who is kind of a fatty like me. he gets a double cheeseburger :) everything is AMAZING. burgers are great. ribeye is great. filet mignon is great. deep fried appetizers are great. loaded baked potato is great. cold beer on a hot, sticky summer evening is great. service is great. owner is great. everything is....great. so i live in a place where you can get just about everything you could ever want to eat, but it's just not like going to toad suck bucks. read more

Great steak! We also had a great server, Kara. We went on a Thursday night and the ribeye was 10% off. Small salad bar but sufficient. The broccoli and cauliflower was good too. Good place and worth the drive. Check it out. The steaks seems a little over price but still worth at least 4 stars. read more

Best rib eye, freshly cut that day. Mr. Buck came by to see how we liked the meal. We loved it. Had a make it yourself fresh salad, complete with real fried bacon pieces and cheddar cheese, a great baked potato, plus a really good margarita! Terrible service!!! Never coming back! They need to update their page about when there grill is closed!

After walking a few trails at Petit Jean state Park, we were hungry and saw the name of this place on yelp. With a name like this, we had to try it. We had the double cheeseburger with pepper jack, and the ribeye. We arrived just before they were ready, but they accommodated us and the food was great! read more

It was busy and a hour wait for a table. I liked the atmosphere and the staff was friendly. I'm thinking of giving up on steak in restaurants, wasn't impressed by size, taste or price of steak. Love this place. The people, the food, and the friendship. Well worth the drive across the bridge!

Worst service I've ever had at a restaurant. The waitress took forever to get our order when she got everyone else's at the table right away. The steak was far below my expectations for the price that I paid for it. My family ordered and our food literally took over an hour to come and it was done wrong. read more

Phillip l, Conway,Ar I've lived in Conway for several years and had heard about a place in the boonies that served great steaks and other stuff that was great. Yesterday my best bud and I decided we'd go find out what all the talk was about. You'll need a GPS for the first few miles out of Conway but no need to worry. These huge blue and white signs not long after you cross the river will get you where you are going. When you pull up you'll wonder , but don't worry. We got there @ 1:30 ...early.. They open at 2:00 ..grill not supposed to open til 4:00. Let me tell you...these guys understand someone who is willing to drive to the Boonies for a meal. Everything i ever wanted in a down home style, country cafe was there. Natalie was the waitress and what a girl. Grill turned on early, our order taken , beer delivered cold, music (country) piping through.... I'm in heaven or what? Steaks arrived, mine a 16 oz. ribeye...exactly like I had wanted, big baked, open salad bar, peace and quiet..no kids running around screaming while mom and daddy cringe in a corner.. Heaven!!! Excellent steak!! Priced reasonable too. And did I mention Natalie? An old geezer like me appreciates class in blue jeans with a smile... Thank you Natalie.. Had a good convo out on the patio with her son..high schooler at Bigelow... Nice kid..like his mom. The owner came out and joined us , nice guy. Has the right idea about what he wants in a cafe. Oh yes, you'll notice two huge dogs hanging (laying ) around. Very friendly, but you'll need to wash your hands if you pet em. I highly recommend this place on a saturday afternoon anytime. read more

Once you go here, you'll find how this family run business immediately makes you feel welcome. The steaks are the best I have had, and the service is outstanding. I promise you'll go back. read more

Best filet I've had in years, but everything was overcooked. Ordered medium rare and was at least medium well (no pink at all). I had to get order of fried mushrooms replaced because it was overcooked (waitress told me that when she brought it out but said they wanted to know if we would like it anyway?). Second order was still overcooked, as we as the catfish. Very crowded and service was extremely slow. Look forward to another visit with smaller crowd to get better feel for read more

Just moved out to bigelow and heard good things about toad suck bucks. Checked the hours on their web site. Got their and was seated. After about 20 minutes of watching waiters walk past me I went to the counter and ask if I could place a order. It was then I was told that they were closed. So I ask what the hours of operation where. On my second trip the food was alright nothing special or to write home about to say the least. It doesn't seem like they make anything their themselves. Just a bunch of shit out of cans that's reheated to order. Needless to say I won't be back. I'll just drive an extra 10 minutes into Conway and get some real food. read more
