We went to Bob's as it has been one of those "Conway Old Reliable" type of lunch joints since before Caesar was in diapers. Well, a few years ago (bout Covid time, I'd reckon), the original/beloved owners sold to some.... less than american folks. And now, Bob's has gone the way of the dodo. No longer is the food consistently good. In fact, it's consistently disgusting. HOW do you mess up meatloaf and mashed potatoes. These ingredients seem to be the cheapest that can possibly be found in North America, and are now being served by Central and/or South Americans. I actually watched a hispanic guy and an asian murmuring between themselves trying desperately to understand what a grilled cheese sandwich is. REALLY!? We eventually go two pieces of toast with a slice of cheese between them. Most of our food was left on the table, as was our innocence at the idea that Bob's was ever gonna be decent food again. I will never, ever, spend another penny in this godforsaken NAFTA-laden gastro-hellhole, and if you were smart, you'd avoid it like the plague... which.. would... probably taste better than the meatloaf. read more

Went for breakfast after my granddaughter's soccer game today. They were quite busy but had plenty of room. The kids loved their Micky Mouse pancakes. I had the BLT Benedict, even though it was served on toast and not the ciabatta bread as described it was good. It's not someplace I would just crave but it was better than some other options. There should be bigger table for groups of four or more. I felt like I was fighting the napkins and salt and pepper the whole time. read more

We ate here for the first time this morning. The service was fast and friendly, the food was delicious. I had the chicken fajita omelet and asked for some salsa. The salsa was fabulous! I highly recommend this menu item. My hubs had the chorizo breakfast burrito. He said it was really good. He also ordered the chocolate gravy. He said that, although it was good, it wasn't great and wouldn't order that again. He takes his chocolate gravy seriously, so he is hard to impress there.He does recommend the chorizo burrito though! Despite being busy, the bathrooms were very clean, and we watched the team clean the tables after a guest left, and again, although they were busy, every item on the table was thoroughly wiped, and that is something that we both appreciate! read more

Bobs Grill is the best little restaurant down town Conway! They are open from 5:00am. ti 2:00p.m. 7 days a week serving breakfast all day. Rebecca and her husband Jaime are so super sweet and makes you feel right at home when you enter the door. She is so full of love for her customers and employees. If you are vegan no worries here, just ask for Rebecca and she will fix you up with a wonderful , beautiful plate of all organic vegan food! She puts so much love into here cooking and preparing only the best for her customers. Jaime is the same way! The staff is always got a smile on their fast and seems to really enjoy their job! The children also works in the restaurant as well. She prepared my husband and I this beautiful plate of food today! Vegan Enchiladas with vegan chorizo , red fried beans, and a very good sauce. Along with vegan mozzarella cheese crispito and battered brussels sprouts & a delicious quinoa with edamame and other vegetables and seasonings mixed in. All of it prepared with olive oil and organic vegetables & of course lots of love!! We ate at Bobs Grill twice this week and the second time she made us grilled mixed vegetables, seasoned turnip greens, vegan meat patty, quinoa and a baby head of red lettuce with house made dressing. If you are ever in the area and looking for a wonderful home cooked meal or something special and yummy give them a try! It will be well worth your visit! read more

Food, for the most part, was very good. Our French toast must have been sitting a while because it was very cold. However, the low rating is for the unorganized service. No one has a section so it's a free-for-all for who takes order, brings silverware, refills coffee, etc... Since no one is working a section, things are missed. For example, only one set or silverware was brought to us. We asked for another set and that person disappeared. We got up to ask and some time later someone brought some. Other patrons who arrived after us received food quicker and left before we even got our food. Our simple order took way too long for someone to bring to us. Would love to give a better review since the food was good but the unorganized service affected our experience. Will give it another chance when we are in town again since we did voice our concerns to one of the wait staff. read more

I arrived at this restaurant at 11:40 this morning. I did not receive my food until 12:30. The restaurant is not even overly crowded. The service was just insanely slow and inattentive. The food was tasty, albeit only mildly warm. I asked for silverware. Never received it. The atmosphere was sterile and depressing. Our waitress that took our table after the first one forgot about us was very nice. Not nice enough to remember my silverware, though. Ended up eating my food with the spoon that comes with your coffee. Sigh. read more

The food was great, and the service needs work. The ambiance was nice old school vibe. We had a waiter named Danilo T. who rolled his eyes when he came back to check if we were ready to order, and once he did take our order did not come back to check on us once until the check was brought. Other servers specifically one young lady, (I never caught her name) went above and beyond to help us. She basically did his entire job for him and did it well with a great attitude. We went for breakfast and it was very good. My wife had an omelet that was big, fluffy, and full of ingredients. My eggs, bacon, and hashbrowns were cooked perfectly. BEST BREAKFAST in Conway! My husband and I dropped in while on our way back home to Houston. Since we were on vacation, we wanted something local and everything in Conway was closed for breakfast items (it was 11AM). Bob's on the other hand was open! The menu looked wonderful so we decided to order all the recommendations. I had the veggie omelet with a fresh biscuit and my husband polished off his biscuits and gravy without a trace! The ratings are through the roof and I'm just sitting here like... "Did I visit the wrong place?!" Let's start with the good news first! Hubs ordered the loaded hash browns and they were great! Therefore, I asked him not to hate me while I ate half of his plate. He felt sorry for me and obliged. So, the 2 star rating is a nod to hubby's hash browns, and the fact that our server and the many others that worked the floor and frequented our table during the visit (although quite disheveled in appearance) were very kind and attentive to drink refill needs. Now... My meal, not so much. I ordered a traditional breakfast w/ a pancake. The pancake apparently hadn't finished cooking when it was taken off the griddle as it had that "dough-y" taste. The "cheese grits" were bland grits with a "Kraft singles" slice melted over top of the bowl (I hate it when breakfast joints do that), the eggs were cold, and the sausage links were, ... well sausage links. There was nothing on my plate to hoot and holler about at all. Adding insult to injury, what's with the almost 30 minute wait for basic breakfast food? I can't. I'm also not a fan of the "paying to eat at what would appear to be a soup kitchen" vibe at all. This place is lacking the character and charm that I needed it to have to overlook the negatives. I'm a super fan of small businesses, diner, and dives! I love that they come in all shapes, models, and sizes, but Bob's has some serious work to do to get my vote. Here's my thought process... So to be fair, we love the food. Even the vibe of the place since we do like a low key, hole in the wall joint. I guess our complaint is that we went to seat ourselves like the sign said and we waited, and waited, then waited some more. My husband is not patient for this being that we had seen 4 other groups get their menus and order taken before us. I told them they were busy and caught the eye of a young waiter wearing pearls and he gave us some menus. Then again we waited and waited and waited. We get up to go somewhere else and he looked at us and looked away! As we gather our things up he keeps glancing at us and shows he doesn't care that customers are leaving due to being ignored. Now we didn't say anything, I want to give it another try because maybe it was just an overwhelming morning. But at the very least he could of apologized and try to maybe rectify the situation a little. Hopefully next time we will be able to order some food. read more

This is as hometown as you get. Visited twice from Dallas and this is so authentic. Food can vary from greasy spoon to healthy as you need it to be. Surroundings are probably not changed from the 80's. Waitstaff is WONDERFUL, attentive and working it, kitchen staff easily get overloaded on a Saturday when you can wait 45 minutes for your eggs. I had the blue plate special. Lemon pepper chicken, turnip greens, and watermelon. When ordering the lemon pepper chicken I thought it was going to be seasoned with lemon pepper. Instead when the food came out it was a lemon pepper chicken looking soup! Lemon pepper chicken sauce/soup was wasted. The chicken was cooked perfect though. The turn up greens were good. The watermelon was ripe & juicy which i loved except for the fact that the watermelon was not seedless. My s/o had a burger and fries. He said it was good. They give you so much fries that you can actually ask for a half order.( which we did not know about until after we finished our meals). I think the service we had was good, we had multiple servers check up on us and they were attentive. We will be back to try out their breakfast next time. read more

This was my first time here. It was not the experience I was hoping for. First, they were very busy on a Monday around 1030am. Wait staff was stretched to the limit. We got drinks eventually with no refills of coffee throughout our stay. We ordered food eventually and when it came out, my omelet was ok but the order was not correct and we were unable to get it right because everyone was so busy. My home fries were so seasoned, I couldn't eat them. It took a long time to get our checks. I was overall very disappointed with the rave reviews there have always been for this diner. Delicious food. Excellent service. Be sure to try the Chocolate Gravy! One thing you will want to do is be isolated for a wait of about 30 minutes for breakfast. It's totally worth it though.
