Was not impressed with the food. I would say below average food quality but about standard for a diner. The portion size was fine despite the food being unappealing. The service was pleasant and friendly. Very kind people. If not for knowing a regular customer who raves about the people, I probably wouldn't have even gone in. Knowing what I do about their hiring policies (official or otherwise, I don't know), I'd go back and try something different for the sake of supporting good business. Third best place in Conway for breakfast by my extensive testing and rankings. . That is this new iteration of Bob's Grill which has new ownership and has been remodeled. Looks nice and clean inside and things went very quickly during our visit on a busy Sunday morning. My only issue would be they say "homemade" gravy on their menu. Well if you're going to say homemade you'd better be making homemade from scratch. Homemade is not from a package. Nonetheless it was good and we'll be back. read more

I've been looking for a decent place to get breakfast in Conway for some time now, and this place definitely has some of the best breakfast I've had here. The place is very casual with both customers and employees wearing t-shirts or maybe at the most a button down. So if you're there on Sunday, do not feel that you need to dress your best. As for the food, I got the standard breakfast special, which in my case included bacon, eggs, and 2 biscuits (can come with gravy as well). Eggs and bacon tasted great, but I was really disappointed with the biscuits for tasting so bland. Don't be afraid to give it a shot though, because there are many other breakfast options available. read more

Stopped by for lunch on my way home, the Staff is very polite and food is great. Yhere's a little bit of a wait depending on what you order, but it's certainly worth it. I drove to Bob's this morning Saturday July 31st from Maumelle because I heard it was wonderful. I walked in and sat down. After 5 minutes a very unpleasant waitress brought me a menu and I order coffee. Many regulars walked in who received their coffee right away. After 15 minutes of not receiving my coffee or taking my order I left Bob's never to return. Good services makes a business and Bob's Grill/Cafe failed! Please go to Stroud's Diner in Mayflower. They know how treat all the customers that walk in their door!!! read more

Bob' Grill was one of the best breakfast places I've seen in a in a long time. The eatery is cool with large tables and community tables. The menu boasts a great selections on it and their chocolate gravy is outstanding. Everything we ordered was fantastic. Love Bob's. Used to live in Conway and it was my breakfast spot on the weekends. The wait staff is super friendly. The food isn't fancy but is always tasty and they are good about making things like bacon/fries/hashbrowns "crispy" if you prefer them that way. They do get really busy on the weekends so sometimes the wait for food can take time but they generally give you a good indication of how long it will take so you can decide to leave if needed. Went by for the first time in awhile today and enjoyed my food as always. They also don't make a big deal out of people sitting and reading or working for any length of time. read more

The five stars are not for fine dining, so before you go nuts, read on... I just relocated here from the east coast and opened an office in town. I regularly go out for coffee and will have breakfast once a week. I like a regular spot and I like to be treated like a regular. This all took about three visits to Bob's. The food is "diner" food, but it's good. They have everything you could ever want for breakfast and of course, plenty of southern favorites. But, it's not the food that keeps me coming back. The girls here are exceptional. Every one of them that passes smiles and acknowledges you. If your coffee cup is empty, don't worry, someone will be there to fill it up very soon. Coming from an area where a "good morning" is usually in the form of a grunt, this was a great change. To be honest, IMO, breakfast food is breakfast food, not really much you can do to mess it up or make it exceptional. *Sigh* I am always so excited about independently owned restaurants and I looked forward to checking out Bob's this morning. Ummm...not so much! I could overlook the restaurant's total lack of character, and it's unkempt staff...but not the poorly cooked food that took well over 30 minutes to get to the table! I ordered the breakfast special of 2 eggs, bacon, biscuits and gravy. The eggs and bacon were over cooked and the biscuits were slightly hockey puck-esque. The gravy was horrific....I mean truly the worst gravy that I have ever had the misfortune of consuming. It was thick and pasty and heavily peppered...absolutely INEDIBLE!!! On a more positive note...My husband ordered the hashbrowns and they were pretty good....also, Bob's offers a very tasty brand of jam...not the super cheap variety. read more

I just moved to town, and my dad and I have eaten here for breakfast the past couple days. The food is good diner food (nothing exceptional necessarily), but it's served quickly and hits the spot. I was really impressed with the hash browns, which weren't too greasy/over-cooked like you sometimes get them. I also like the biscuits. My dad said the ham was too good not to order a second time. The folks who work here are super nice and constantly check to see if you need coffee refills. It seems like the kind of place where everyone knows everyone, which I think is pretty special. read more

The food is good, sure. It's the same thing you'll find at Dewayne's in Dover or Granny's Kitchen in Hot Springs. It sure ain't healthy, but it's good for your soul. What keeps people coming back, though, is the environment and workers. I suppose you don't have to grow up in a small Arkansas town to appreciate this kind of restaurant, but it sure does help. Some people "don't get" the charm, and that's okay. It just means more open seating for those of us that do. The waitresses are nice, the food is good, and the prices are affordable. The only reason it gets four stars instead of five is because they're only open until 2 p.m. I'd kill for later hours. read more

Service was very pleasant and quick to be seated, however food took some time I come out, especially given there were relatively few people in the restaurant at 10am. Good size portions; pancakes are ginormous! A normal size pancake is considered "tiny" here. Thy have something called a "hubcap" pancake that is literally the size of a tire hubcap or closer to tire size....crazy! We had a single pancake; flavor was good, but a little tough. Pork sausage links were very tasty. Eggs were cooked well to order. Omelet flavor was good, but eggs were a bit overcomes and tough. Overall not bad; nice hometown peeps. read more

My husband and I stopped here for breakfast this morning around 10 AM. When we arrived the place was about 20% full and there was a sign stating to see yourself. We were immediately greeted by a waitress and our drink order was taken. Their menu is simple and standard diner food we both chose the bacon & cheese omelet, Hashbrowns and toast I also ordered a small side of grits. The food came out fast and fresh the omelettes were filled to the gills with bacon and cheese hash browns were hot and crispy. I was slightly disappointed in the grits as they were instant and I had hoped for homemade creamy delicious grits. We really enjoyed our meal and plan to stop here again when we are in Conway. read more

Classic southern breakfast spot where nearly everyone knows everyone, you are called "hon", treated like the most important customer there, the portions are huge, and the ambience is nil. I've had about everything on the menu, and it's all pretty good. Gargantuan tire sized pancakes that are fluffy and delicious. Omelettes with plenty of meat/veggies/whatever fillings you want, and good classic breakfasts. For anybody that hasn't been, realize they are rated high not because the food is spectacular (because it's not), but because of it's atmosphere -- like eating breakfast at your grandparents (or great grandparents) house. If you're looking for creative cooking, you might think to go elsewhere because as artsy as it gets here is a beachball-sized pancake. Definitely a local feed trough and located downtown but well worth the effort to get there from the interstate and the tight parking. Will definitely come again when driving through Conway. My wife and I ate here a year ago and were not happy then, but we decided that perhaps we should give them another shot. This morning we had breakfast. We were greeted immediately by a friendly waitress who took our drink orders. After she returned with our drinks, we ordered two breakfast specials (2 eggs, bacon, biscuits /gravy), and a side of hashbrowns. So we started with our coffee and waited, and waited, and waited....Approximately 40 minutes later our food arrived. The eggs were not cooked as ordered and the gravy was the worst I had ever tasted. It was not just "not good", it was actually bad. The hashbrowns were good. This restaurant will not get another chance from us. If you want a good breakfast, just continue on to another restaurant. read more
