It was your average café meal in an average café atmosphere. The menu was a bit more limited than some others I've tried in town, but it definitely had what you'd expect from a hometown café. This is a local eatery at its finest! Great food!!! The western omelette was absolutely delicious. The sweet tea was perfect. They even have the perfect soft ice! We got the biscuits and gravy too try along with the omelette and they were good but the omelette was so good we can't think of anything beyond that. It's a come as you are, hang out with the locals and watch judge Judy type of place but man oh man would I love to have one back home! The service was prompt and polite too. Emily's Diner was an unexpected thing today, but my cousin and I were super hungry and it simply sounded far more satisfying then a handful of places around the area.. ^__^ We were craving something hearty and wholesome, so we went breakfasty today during our out and about! The experience was really nice for both of us. The customer service was comfy and uplifting. Kelsey, our waitress was a sweetheart and did beautifully, and our simple breakfast platters hit the spot! we went Really simple too! We both enjoyed our favorite style of eggs with smoky bacon, grits, and toast. And it wasn't too much food either! Just enough! Personally my only, minor issue was how cold it was in there! o__o But it was quickly fixed thanks to my cousin having her jacket at hand hehe. I recommend this cute, little restaurant to those looking to have a quiet, simple breakfast in Jacksonville with their loved ones. I'll definitely return to try their fish and dumplings one day! Fried and steamed dumplings. Yes please! I thought the combination of goodies on their menu was refreshing and fun. Daphne and I were looking for something new for brunch. A friend of our son had previously recommended Emily's Diner. So we settled on giving it a try. We were not disappointed. The restaurant is clean, with a down home, country feel. Their menu is Asian American - serving breakfast all day. Having breakfast was right up my alley. The customer service was great. Daphne was able to order what she wanted all ale carte. After looking at their menu, I wanted something well-rounded and filling. I found it in their country stack. A delicious blend of my breakfast favorites. Eggs (any way I liked), bacon, sausage, hashbrowns, and biscuits all smothered in a creamy, white gravy. Daphne also got their crab rangoons. They were crispy, sweet, and fresh. All our food came out quickly with no issues. We would highly recommend this restaurant to others, and plan on bringing our friends here. read more

We eat at Emily's regularly, even thru their carryout phase. Today, the fried rice was very nice as always. And staff is always friendly & accommodating. But... We asked our server to mask up. We should all be concerned about the COVID-19 situation. However, I don't think the leadership & staff are taking it seriously. Partly masked staff (waitstaff below the nose or no mask), kitchen staffing (at least 3) running in & out without masks at all. Leadership the same. NOBODY wearing gloves while handling food, the dishes, condiments or register. The sign on the door says wear a mask. I'm so sad to post this. I ate here twice while visiting my brother. Actually his son told him about it. Since I am a self proclaimed foodie, I told him let's go there. The first breakfast was a well cooked steak, scrambled eggs and a HUGE portion of hash browns. The entire meal was excellent. The waitstaff was extremely friendly and attentive. The second breakfast was a western omelet, hash browns and a side of grits. Once again all was excellent. Exactly like my first visit. The only problem was the omelet. Gave this place a try and was pleasantly surprised. Definitely needs some foundation work, but has real potential! The staff is absolutely wonderful, and the food was really tasty. If you are torn between the bacon and sausage...get bacon!! I will for sure be coming back soon and hopefully they give it a more modern update on the decor. Ate here a couple times for brunch. They have the typical diner food but they do have a portion of Asian food which threw me off since it doesn't fit the "diner" theme. Have enjoyed breakfast here on many occasions. This morning I ordered a veggie omelet for the first time. Seemed like they used egg beaters (though they said they don't), canned mushrooms, and processed cheese. There were flecks of spinach but it was only in the egg part which seemed to have been puréed. Toast was soggy. Bacon (which was ordered a la carte) was delicious. If we go there again, needless to say, I will steer clear of the omelet selections. read more
