Thankfully I've had some great exciting with this type of fish in the last few weeks but DARROW'S is and has been the best. That's why I titled this review THE GOAT. The food and service was that good! I had the Catfish Po'Boy the greens and the Bean Balaya. The flavor was perfectly savory. Straight up mouth Mardi gras. Yes I said it. Party was in my mouth. I loved everything and even ate my friends leftovers with no shame. The ownership and the whole crew working there were upbeat and friendly. I loved this spot! I'll definitely be back. I'm all in on Darrows! Shiiid I'm family. Darrow Jeff

There was such genuine warmth and kindness. They didn't make us feel like we were simply customers having a birthday dinner, they made us feel like family. As a daughter, there's something incredibly special about watching your dad turn 80 and seeing him happy, laughing, sharing stories about our family history, and surrounded by people who truly enjoyed celebrating him. By the end of the evening, it felt like Pops had gained a new Darrow's family, and that touched my heart. Thank you, Darrow's, for loving on my dad and helping our family celebrate 80 years of his life. You played an instrumental part in creating a memory that we will cherish for years to come. The food was wonderful, the service was exceptional, but the way you made my dad feel is what I'll remember most. Five stars PLUS! + We will absolutely be back.

They were really really good. We'd definitely order again. No complaints there. The staff were super friendly and cool. Guy who took our ordered took his time explaining prices and sauces and stuff, appreciate that. Price was fair enough. Cheaper than other places. Now the reason for 3 stars; it took us about 10 minutes to get home and by the time we got home and opened the bags they gave us, THE BAG HAD MELTED! I don't know who came up with such stupid idea to put boiling hot liquids and foods in plastic bags. Really really stupid. Had to discard some because the plastic had stuck on some of the food. I was really really pissed by this. Hope they find, I don't know, something better for their take out options.

They serve seafood boil, deep fried calamari, a few filipino dishes and southern sides. We ordered combo #1 which came with potatoes, corn, sausages and 3 pounds of your choice of seafood: clam, mussels, shrimp or crawfish. We got the crawfish, shrimp and clams. I'll use 3 works to describe the quality of the seafood: FRESH, DELICIOUS, and MEATY. To summarize, the quality is amazing and the price is worth it. If you're not dining it, order it to go! They serve it on a foil pan so it's easy to transport and even reheat in the oven. The sauce is delicious, the spice isn't spicy at all (but my tolerance is pretty up there), and their service is amazing. I highly recommend trying this place, especially if you're looking for a spot that has fresh, big crawfish. None of the crawfish we got was tiny. Happy eating! psssst... there's a parking lot :D

Our server was so sweet and welcoming. She walked us through the options and made recommendations based on our party. For a party of 3, we ordered one pound of shrimp, one pound of snow crab, and half pound of clams. The staff recommended mixing their sauces and it definitely hit the spot. The seafood was fresh and meaty and the garlicky, spicy sauce kicked the flavor up a notch. We also ordered a side of fries to share and the dip it came with was amazing as well. The price is very reasonable! It was definitely bang for your buck. They have happy hours that span a good chunk of the day so definitely take advantage of that. Will definitely be back to support a local small business.

Since it's not one of the big chains, we didn't know what to expect. It was AWESOME. The spice mixes here are better than we've had at other places we like and go pretty frequently. And the service was great. The only downside - which had nothing to do with the restaurant - was that one of the other businesses next door was using some kind of power tool for part of our visit. But it stopped before we left, so I'm assuming it was a one time thing. Definitely bookmarking this place as our new go-to. I love snow crab, and it was so fresh. No soggy shells!

For a party of four, we ordered: SHRIMP LOVER COMBO, LOBSTER ROLL, SIDE OF RICE, BASKET OF SEASONED FRIES, AND MAD DOG XXX SAUCE on the side. Portion-wise, we left comfortably full and only slightly questioning our life choices. The Shrimp Lover Combo can't be modified. We chose Stinkin' Special and Spicy, which came with a plastic glove so you can dig in like a civilized gremlin. The Stinkin' Special was a generous blasts of Old Bay and enough garlic to ward off vampires. The Mad Dog sauce wasn't shock-your-soul spicy, but it definitely lingered. I was still feeling its friendly burn hours later and well into the evening. The LOBSTER ROLLL was tasty but fleeting. It's one of those dishes that makes you realize the meal is almost over right when you're hitting peak satisfaction. A little emotional damage there. We wrapped it all up with deep-fried Oreos and ice cream, which was an instant win. Sweet, cooling relief after all that heat. The flavor was kind of off -- too heavy on the garlic and the sauce was too light. I also find this place too pricey for what you get. I also ordered one side of corn, which is $3.50 for 2 pieces. I was charged $7 but only received 2 pieces of corn. Same thing happened to my coworker who ordered the same thing! Their corn was also on the harder side. $5 for small rice?! I was charged $10 for 2 small rice. BUT ON THE MENU, RICE IS ONLY $2.50! I only received 2 side orders of rice. Bon Chance et Prospérité!!! Ragin' Cajun looks as though it were plucked right out of the Bayou Tèche in Southern Louisiana. I could be somewhere on a back road near Saint Martinville. The owner was in her Mardi Gras best in shades of purple, gold, and green on this Tuesday the day before Ash Wednesday. Parking lot has over grown plantings that also feels Southern. Kinda charmingly ramshackled, self consciously kitschy to perhaps reference itself to the rightfully proud "Coonass" culture. 1) Cajun Fried Chicken: "Perfectly seasoned and cooked with our own secret spices." Very delicately seasoned unlike the bold flavors of Cajun spice mix added in when I ate fried chix near West Feliciana Parish, LA. But the buttermilk marinade made the meat soft, moist except the breast which in most cases is almost always drier. The thigh has a combination of lush fat & plush, Jidori-like meat that was impressive. I wish I could only order the thighs. However, the menu says "no substitutions" which I respect. Sides: a) Delightful Hush Puppies like buttermilk donut holes except pleasantly extra crispy almost crunchy on the outside and cakey inside when hot from the frier. Almost subliminal chicken fat flavour as though it were fried in the same oil to fry chicken. b) Corn Bread is moist, dense, cakey. Probably has a bit of wheat flour, and not the crumbly pure corn meal type. 2) Crawfish Étouffée Combo: a) Crawfish Étouffée has a great buttery, suave, smooth roux with subtle Cajun Mirepoix contrasting well with the chewy Crawfish tails. Of the 3, the Étouffée was the most sophisticated. b) Gumbalaya with the same dry, shredded fibrous breast meat absorbing Gumbo soup which had very little Umami. A dash of Cajun Power Lightin' Strikes with a sharp gastrique pepped up the Gumbo enough. c) Red Beans & Rice with that earthy legume scent & rather bland yet porky Sausage was good. When the Cajun Power Garlic sauce was judiciously applied, it kicked this dish up a notch. All the above was served with very soft, well sauced rice. 3) Butter Cake: Heated, soft, gooey, mushy w/ nice light, toasty caramel taste, soothingly butter scented, rounded flavours. Dollop of good dairy scented vanilla ice cream, and drizzling of fruity strawberry sauce. Perfect for those with a major sweet tooth. 1-3a) Iced Tea and lots of it to slake the thirst after 1 1/2 hours of driving to Redondo Beach and to clear my palate during a massive meal of which I am not complaining. MJ née Australia was friendly and convivial, and conveyed a warm "Laissez les bons temp rouler." It's a little piece of Lafayette in Redondo Beach. 3+/4- stars
