The under spot for basic breakfast at a reasonable price. Mom and Pops owned.
ARIeL P.

I t's a mom and pop hole-in-the-wall small restaurant that serves breakfast and lunch. I've been here a few times, it's basic breakfast. I support them since they are a small business. Decent freshly made breakfast. It's only the husband and wife that works here. That's probably why she's dry because she's busy. Overall, it's in and out for me.

I have lived in San Leandro for over 40 years and today was the 1st time I eaten here. Boy I've been missing out!!!! Came in for breakfast with one of my high school friend that has been here a few times a year. Its a small diner with a U-Sharp bar that sits about 15 people and tables around the bar. I'm very surprised on how good their breakfast is and how cheap it is. From what I heard this is a husband and wife operation, and they been running Cozy Kitchen for a long time. Cozy Special Omelette with Linguisa, Mushrooms, Bell Pepper, Onions, Tomato & Cheese was very good, made perfectly. Eggs not over cooked. I also had a side of ham which was good as well. The service was excellent!!! When we sat down, the gentleman was talk to 2 guest and they were ordering to go for 10 people, so the lady came and took our order fast. Will differently come back!!!

First time here I was in the area so like why not try this spot When you walk in it's like taking a step into a time warp into the past all original decor and furnishings from the 1980's Menu is easy to read Prices are reasonable Food is made as ordered portions are relatively big Parking is easy to find Customer service is ok No frills sort of breakfast spot but food hits the spot

French toast and cozy breakfast
Yan M.

French toast is too expensive, it was very thin and small, at $5,75, I expect a little better French toast. The bacon was too hard, the ham was super thin and small. The sausage was okay. Coffee was not hot.

What a little hidden gem! I've always seen this place when stopping by dollar tree or neighboring stores but never stopped by. I kept seeing the name and my husband decided we should give it a try. We were greeted right when we entered and sat where was available. The restaurant itself is pretty tiny-- but it is cozy. Onto the food, I got the cozy special, husband got the crab mushroom sandwich, and we got a beef patty with eggs to go for my brother. The food is just the right amount, you don't feel disgustingly full afterwards, and it's really affordable. I think I just found my new kitchen spot!! The staff was really friendly and always filled our coffee and water without being asked. I feel like this is more of a "mom & pop" spot-- which I love!

Two eggs plate (comes with hash browns and toast)

This diner has quickly become our go-to place in the area. They have the best prices and are locally owned by an adorable older couple who run the business - cooking and waiting tables. Not only are the prices very reasonable here, the food is really good. They have the crispiest hash browns, the fluffiest pancakes, and the eggs are prepared just as you request them. We wanted to come by today to try their lunch plates out, but they are closed on Sundays. Although it's tough for us to share a gem in the area knowing that more people might come here, the food is great and this mom and pops shop deserves some more recognition. This place is definitely one of our favorite diners.

Food

Nice and efficient. Everyone was kind even with the language barrier. Free coffee refills and good portions for the price. Bacon was the best part! It's real bacon compared to the flimsy bacon you'd get at other places. 10/10 would recommend for a hole in the wall, mom and pop spot.

Foods always good. Hot and they move the customers in and out. Love supporting mom and pop!!

Cozy kitchen is very cozy:) Family owned, little diner stands for its name. Both owners, family couple, cook and serve tables. Food is delicious! Great place to have breakfast!

Delightfully retro coffee shop. Eat at a booth or the center counter

I like to look for new spins on lattes to see what barista's are whipping up to make things unique. I came in thinking I was going to get a basic latte, but the Borgia Mocha caught my eye! I asked the cashier if it was a good choice and she recommended it. I was a little unsure how the two would blend and how much orange they would use in it, but it came out amazing! Honestly probably one of the top 10 unique mocha's I have tried and it was delicious! I loved the burst of refreshing orange that complimented the chocolate. The flavors danced on my tastebuds like two separate flavors that blended together as one. Each holding their own note that added value to the drink making it unique. I was instantly impressed and wish I found this on more menus! A classic mocha with a refreshing twist of orange was a pleasant surprise! I'm so glad I stopped in for a pick me up! I also loved all the art on the large walls and there looked to be plenty of tables and seating for people to eat and work at.

Was meeting up with a friend from Berkeley and he found this spot in between the both of us. Pros and cons! + The coffee - holy shit. Got a cortado. And drank it without sugar it was so good. A touch of bitter (it's coffee - duh!) but so smooth, almost nutty but buttery at the same time. + Got a chicken salad sandwich. It came stacked HIGH with hints of sweetness and curry. Freshest produce. Honestly, I was hungry but could only eat half of it, it was so big. + Friend got a warmed cinnamon bun. Incredible. Yeasty, chewy almost crisp on the outside but pillowy soft on the inside. + Wide open space inside -- high ceilings, one big central area. Not tucked away spaces -- which might or might not match your preference. + Perfect amount of coffeehouse buzz. Music playing lowish in the background and lots of conversations. Just enough to quell my ADHD tendencies. * Honestly can't think of any negatives. Prices are a bit high but happy to pay it for such a quality experience. I think my cortado was decently priced -- maybe $6 or so? Sandwich was $18 or so but done really well and came with a bowl of soup (chips, fruit, and something else was an option instead of soup, but tomato bisque with a sandwich? Divine.) - An hour away from where I live but if you live anywhere East Bay, my curse is your blessing ;-)

As soon as I walked in, Tina welcomed me at the register and made me feel instantly comfortable. I ordered the veggie scramble, avocado toast, a Red Eye coffee, and an iced hazelnut coffee. Tina even asked if I was new to the area (apparently I gave off new-neighbor energy ). After I shared that I had recently moved nearby, she gave me a lovely rundown of the business and the services they offer. It's very clearly a community hub, a place where organizations and regulars can gather and even host events. The food came out quickly, and Tina made sure I had everything I needed before I left. While waiting, I noticed locals and repeat customers coming in and genuinely connecting with one another, which was really nice to see. Great service, welcoming atmosphere, and a strong sense of community. I'll definitely be back!

All of that to say that the sandwich I just had from Zenti was so amazing that I had to write a review immediately. It was in a surprise bag from Too Good to Go, so it wasn't even something I chose. The very friendly woman handed me a bag with a meatloaf sandwich, a blueberry muffin, and a very ripe banana. The banana will be frozen for smoothies or banana bread and the tasty muffin went to my daughter. But that sandwich... Perfectly cooked meatloaf on white, lightly toasted bread with a smear of mayo and a little cranberry sauce with lettuce and tomato. Not much to look at, honestly. But omg one bite and I was in heaven. This was the best meatloaf I've ever had, hands down. I make a pretty decent one myself, but this shit was next level. I tried to save half because I wanted my husband to be able to try it, but I just couldn't stay away from the damn thing lol. Unfortunately, I think it was a special so they don't always have it. Get it if they have it! And I'll be back to try other stuff for sure.

When I passed by Roccabs at 1:40pm same day, the doors were open and patrons were inside eating lunch. I continued to call and no one was answering the phones. After I finished shopping at Sprouts, I returned to my car and decided to go to Roccabs in person. I was still calling and still no one answered. I pulled up in front of the deli before 2pm and there were still patrons dining "inside" of the deli. I got out of my car and headed inside only to meet one of the employees as she was leaving and she smiled and said, "Im sorry we are closing now". I looked over at the two women who were sitting down and eating their lunch, as I was turned away. There were no hours posted on the door, and everyone behind the counter was literally standing around talking. I probably will not return based on the service. Not answering the phones, but your doors are open and you are serving patrons who were white and turning away people of color coming through the door, during normal business hours according to Google and no signs on the door indicating special hours today. All while turning away POC patrons on MLK day. Nope!!! Do better Roccab. You could have taken the time to post special hours and since you were in fact open, you could have answered the phones to let customers know you had special hours today or that you were Not open to the public. These are simple things to do. And it looks really awkward telling someone you are not open, when you have other people dining inside your establishment.
