My dad and I usually go to Wildflower (also great) when I'm in town so I was surprised when we stopped at this place. I had the Huevos Rancheros and my dad had a Denver Omelet. Service was a little slow today but I heard it's usually a lot faster so they were probably just a little short staffed for the day. The food was excellent and would and very likely will be going back. read more

everything about this place is 5 stars! food never disappoints! i've tried their sandwiches, huevos rancheros, banana pancakes/ french toasts and my favorite, their downtowner omelette with extra of their sauce (SO good). comes with their potatoes and your choice of toast. also very affordable/ reasonable prices for the amount of food!service is amazing. this family is always so kind and attentive to anything you might need. my coffee was never low! they greet you right away and food comes out quick as well read more

We used to come here all the time. Like literally almost every weekend. Stopped coming about a year ago because of the constant presence of flies. Decided to give it another try to see if the problem has been resolved and nope. It's just bad as before. Flies everywhere. They land on your head, they land on your food when you're trying to eat. It's unhygienic and complete gross to be honest. What a complete shame! Somehow every other restaurant in this neighborhood has figured out how to have a fly free establishment except for Cozy Cafe. read more

This place was COZY! It had it all the fun of a small home, with the added bonus of a kitchen. What used to be an outhouse, was converted into a working kitchen, proof that anything in your front yard, can be used to benefit the hungry community. You won't have to look far, but have a nearsighted strength of an eagle, to catch a glimpse of this establishment from the street. Once you get in, you'll notice the bar seating right in front of your face, so be prepared. The patrons are kind, the employees fun, and don't forget to grab a cup of coffee. Tiny little diner inside, but also has tables outside. You'll feel like you've dropped by a friend's house for brunch. Yummy potatoes and banana pancakes. Over the moon for the crispy bacon and really enjoyed the chorizo egg scramble topped with avocado. Great spot for a quick drop in during a work day or for breakfast/brunch while visiting Redondo. Pancakes have lowkey been getting me through the pandemic. I'm new to the area but have been on the hunt for some good pancakes. I have already been to Cozy Cafe twice in the past month. The service here is outstanding first of all. Every time I call I'm greeted kindly and they are very patient with figuring out what you want exactly (my eyes are often bigger than me tummy ). Big at home vibes here when you walk in. The pancakes are HUGE and FLUFFY. I've had the original and the banana pancake and both times they were delicious. Their omelets are very good as well. The spinach omelet had just enough cheese on it for me. The home fries could use a little more seasoning but they aren't bad. Overall you must drop into Cozy Cafe for some pancakes and the other incredible items on their menu (which is a good size!). But especially the pancakes, enjoy! read more

There's a wait for a seat on the prime breakfast hours of the weekends. This is a locals kind of breakfast spot. Traditional breakfast. Bacon & eggs, corned beef hash, potatoes. Prices are probably the same as they were in 1989. I heard a few guys reminiscing about old school Redondo Beach, and how things used to be. I figure they chose the Cozy Cafe because it also reminds them of the old days. read more

This place represents some of the lost magic in America. I am so glad this place survived the pandemic. Top quality breakfast grub in certifiably the "coziest" setting I can imagine. Covid freaks don't fret! They have ample covered outdoor dining too. Loved the food & they don't skimp on the portions. The cafe isn't fancy we ate under a tent/tarp in a converted house but my goodness the food was amazing! The price was more than fair. The portions were huge. The father took my order and then came back later to double check how well done I really wanted my eggs (I wanted them really well done) but I loved that he cared enough to check and get it right. We could have been having a little language barrier. They were perfect. I felt valued. And excited to have such a wonderful family share their food with me. First time at this place. It is definitely old school. OG's like me love this kind of place. Best if you stick with ordering anything with "Greek" in the description on menu, you won't be disappointed. I ordered the "Greek Scramble Deluxe," it was fantastic!! I also ordered a side of ham, it's the real deal, bone-in & full of flavor! The service was impeccable, I sat outside, (inside is a little tight) & even though this is a tiny place, 3 different people attended to my needs, they kept the coffee & water full. A nice guy in a starched bright white apron greeted me & welcomed & thanked for coming in, he was gracious and it felt like he was opening up his home to you. The potatoes weren't great and service from our waitress could have been better but the Greek scramble I had made up for it. Either way, it was a nice addition to the meal. The grand finale were the desserts! I usually go for baklava, but decided to try the knafeh, a layered cheese dessert with syrup and pistachios. Mostly, the food here tastes very-very good. And, isn't that the right reason you actually go to a restaurant in the first place? This is a family-owned and operated business. From this, you can really tell that everybody who works here really cares about the restaurant and the customers. Thus, it's always a great dining experience. Their menu offers a really nice selection of everything from gyro's to kebabs onto salads and the like. There's a really nice choice of both entrées and side dishes for you to choose from. The one thing I will say about this establishment, and this is certainly not a criticism, but whenever you eat here, they always keep the food coming. Whether it is the pita chips, the pita bread, the whatever, when you leave here you are going to be very-very full. This restaurant is located just off of Hawthorne Boulevard and a block from PCH. Thus, it's very easy to find. In terms of parking they have a parking lot over to one side of the building. You could always find a spot there. They also have a number of spots on the street, in front of the restaurant. This is where I always prefer to park. Easy in, easy out. Overall, if you're looking for some great Mediterranean-based food, this is the place to go. You will not be disappointed.

I ordered extra salad instead of the rice. The baklava was delicious! It's a very welcoming atmosphere, almost feels like you are a guest at a nicely decorated house.

I've not been back for a long timespan due to location logistics and not other real nor negative reason. I revisited it. The prices were higher for sure. That's 2025 and when you even look at 2000 and think that wasn't that long ago, it's a quarter of a century, 25 years of inflation in the economy with rising costs of labor, insurance, rent, food ingredients, etc. - - it's somewhat reasonable to expect price hikes from "the old days" without a doubt. So, I can't really complain about that aspect. If you look around at peer restaurants, it's pretty much the same. I did get the Asian Chicken Salad, but for some reason it didn't take the same as I thought I recalled and remembered it years ago as being among the best I've had. It was okay, but I'd probably opt for the pure roast chicken play next time as a solid reliable fresh go-to option. It still has the Mediterranean aspect to the cuisine and menu. It's been in this location for so many years as a testimony to their quality to endure a presence for so long.
