Ammmmazing. The people here are awesome, so kind and helpful. I went for a snapped axel, they stayed after hours for me and helped fix the cracked radiator aswell. When my prius went into these guys it sounded like a machine gun, the loudest car I've ever been in, and now its completely silent again. It runs sooo beautifully. About two days after I got my car back from them I got hit by a motorcyclist and got my mirror ripped off and they fixed it for me in under 30 mins. Best best best 10/10 would recommend They stuck with all their estimates also which is a plus if you're broke like me and can't afford surprise fees. Thanks guys!!! read more

Alex is a miracle worker. My beloved 94 325is wouldn't pass smog and I was told I needed a new catalytic converter. The cost basically a death sentence for my little Beamer. Instead I decided on a second opinion and brought my baby to Dr Alex and his team, who replaced valve covers, cleaned engine and injectors, master tune up, new brakes and belts. Total cost way less than the new converter...my little racer drives and feels like new and passed smog like a Prius! read more

This is the 1st review I have ever written and I'm happy it's for Alex and his crew at Cox Auto Service in Vista. Unlike some of the others, I have not used him for years. My first experience was in August and with a 21' RV. I was fortunate to find him on the DMV.gov smog test site. While he has a unique sense of humor, he didn't treat me like I was a woman who didn't understand the business. His prices are reasonable and doesn't over sell. He went over and above and spent time making sure I left with everything I had asked for and needed. I live in Mission Valley, San Diego but, no matter where I am, I will be bringing my vehicles to Alex at Cox. If you are looking for honest and reliable mechanics......this is NOT the place. Originally had taken my car there for a brake job and since then it has been nothing but shady business as I would call it. Left the shop and not even home yet and my brakes were grinding and sounded worse than ever. I seriously don't think they even changed the brake pads. Around $3,000 has been spent at this shop and I regret giving them one cent!!!? read more

They did a Smog check for me. They were fast and reasonably priced. The customer area was kind of gross though. The chairs in the waiting area were dirty and I was glad I had on long pants and did not touch the arms of the chair. Yewwww! I will go back though. The guys were very nice. Maybe next time I will stand outside or take a walk. read more

Had a horrible experience here. My car was there for repair. I needed my license plate number. I called to get it and the guy answering the phone didn't speak English. He couldn't understand what I was asking and got mad at me. Finally he understood and he tried to give me the plate number. He spoke so fast in an unintelligible language I couldn't understand. I asked him to repeat it and he did it again. This continued 5 times in a row me asking and him repeating in garbled speech. Then he repeated again in poor English and a condescending manner. I gave up and requested to speak to someone else. He got angry and said there was only him. I asked to speak to the owner. He wanted to know what I wanted to discuss with the owner. I asked 6 ties to speak to the owner. Finally. Alex came to the phone. He was no better than his employee. When I tried to explain what just transpired he was aggressive and made me feel like I was bothering him. Furthermore, he told me he was busy and had to go. My complaint about his employees behavior and attitude didn't matter to him. When I went to pick up my car he spoke to me very disrespectfully in front of other customers. He told me not to come back he didn't need my business. I would give him a zero for customer service and satisfaction. Customers beware. read more

Was pretty excited the first time I took one of our work trucks to cox in vista. Great prices and fast service for an oil change. Was in yesterday for the fifth oil change in three months (several trucks) and was told that my truck needed a new air filter. No problem we buy them by the case and I told the guy I would change it when I got back to the office (I got a lecture and a hard stare for that comment). Got side tracked and forgot the filter until my truck came in from the field today with the check engine light on. Apparently Cox forgot to re-seat the filter and close the cover. Truck was in dusty dirty conditions all day with essentially no air filter. Wont be going back. read more

These guys don't belong in a garage they need to go back to school. I took my truck into get smogged and after 45 minutes of them inspecting my truck and referring to their comupter, they failed me. They said that I was missing my catalytic converter. I did indeed have a cat on the turck and took it to the referee in El Cjone. I passed there. Apparently the mechanic at Cox doesn't know much about diesels because the cat was in the typical place they are located(exhaust pipe). I tried to explain this but the owner was told me that I was wasting his time. If these guys cant even identify a simple catalytic converter then they do not deserve to work on cars period. read more
