They took me in same day for a smog check. When I got there they were finishing up another car so I waited about 15 minutes before they started on mine. The test was done super promptly after that and I was out the door soon after. They were super polite and courteous. And the price was basically the same as getting a smog check anywhere. Called with some concerns about my particular smog situation. He answered the questions, but told me not to come in until the morning. It was 2 hours before closing and he said he was way too busy. I confirmed their hours (open at 8:30), but he didn't want to set an appointment. Showed up the next morning at 8:25, and at least on other person was waiting. Thanks for Auto Smog Specialist to still be open working hard during the shutdown period. We still have to pay our car registration so I had to get smog done. It's hard to give them anything less than a five stars since it was a seamless and very efficient process and the CRV passed smog so I can't complain. It only takes about 10 minutes if they are not busy. You can always ask for a better price if you see it at another shop. I think the smog places are all fairly similar price anyways. You can't really completely social distance because you have to pass over the keys and then pay and grab the paperwork but we both had masks on and a smog station is likely to not have many people in them since there are so many options! I would recommend them in you are in the Vista area! read more

Good honest guy. I called after fixing a emissions related issue on my car and told him I needed a smog so I can register my car after a title transfer. I told him that I reset my check engine light after completing the work. He told me not to come in yet to drive it around for at least 100 miles and then come in. Most shops would not give you info like that and charge you for a retest when it would inevitably fail due to the check engine light reset. Did the work quickly and efficiently especially considering he was the only one there and there were several people showing up as he was working that he had to address. They are NOT a STAR station, just regular test but that's all we needed for the moment. A customer arrived that needed the star station and he was kind enough to give them directions.
