They took me in same day for a smog check. When I got there they were finishing up another car so I waited about 15 minutes before they started on mine. The test was done super promptly after that and I was out the door soon after. They were super polite and courteous. And the price was basically the same as getting a smog check anywhere. But I'll be coming back here for the very polite and kind person who took care of me and my car! read more

Very personable and professional! Owner even notified me of a warranty that I was entitled to on smog equipment. Don't the let the no frills look of the shop deter you. I am a twice returning customer. read more

Uy has smogged our cars for over 20 years. He is thorough, courteous, and knowledgeable. The one time my Miata failed the initial test, he recommended a local repair shop who repaired it, and then Uy retested and passed it. Highly recommended. read more

My mechanic recommended Auto Smog Specialist. It's a little hard to find, but worth the search! This place is very friendly and nice. My first time here and I love it. Best emission place. I recommend to everyone.

Quick service even though there were 3 people ahead of me. Friendly and polite service. I keep up the maintenance on my cars so I didn't have or didn't anticipate any issues but Wi is knowledgeable on the subject if you have questions. Highly recommended!! read more

Called with some concerns about my particular smog situation. He answered the questions, but told me not to come in until the morning. It was 2 hours before closing and he said he was way too busy. I confirmed their hours (open at 8:30), but he didn't want to set an appointment. Showed up the next morning at 8:25, and at least on other person was waiting. By 8:50 no one had shown up to open so I went to the next shop down the street. I drove by after my smog was completed at the other shop and it still wasn't open. read more

HANDS DOWN I GIVE AUTO SMOG SPECIALIST 5IVE STARS... A little difficult to find but, definitely well worth it!!! Uy is very sincere and patient. He goes out of his way to make sure you are treated kindly and respectfully. He is very honest and you can tell that he cares about his job and his customers. I will be sure to tell everyone I know to get their vehicle smog-ed at Auto Smog Specialist!!! read more

The best service there is to have! Mr Wi is AWESOME!! I highly recommend visiting his shop for Smog service on your vehicle

Thanks for Auto Smog Specialist to still be open working hard during the shutdown period. We still have to pay our car registration so I had to get smog done. It's hard to give them anything less than a five stars since it was a seamless and very efficient process and the CRV passed smog so I can't complain. It only takes about 10 minutes if they are not busy. You can always ask for a better price if you see it at another shop. I think the smog places are all fairly similar price anyways. You can't really completely social distance because you have to pass over the keys and then pay and grab the paperwork but we both had masks on and a smog station is likely to not have many people in them since there are so many options! I would recommend them in you are in the Vista area! read more

In and out. Fast and nice. I like it when people are friendly and don't make stressful things like smog tests even less pleasant.

After failing smog Mr We/Wi/Wei (don't want to butcher his nam). Gave me a run down on what to do. He was so nice he gave me a break on the charge until I got it fixed. Ultimate customer service, sensational guy. read more

Our family has been going to Auto Smog Specialist longer than I can remember. Recently, I went to a different shop and was highly disappointed. Needless to say, I went right back here to handle smog on my other car. When you frequent this shop, you can feel the gratitude from the owner. He always takes the time to let you know how much he appreciates your patronage - this has always made me feel comfortable and trusting when here. No matter where you live in North County, it is worth the drive to get your smog needs taken care of here. read more

I just had my car smog checked today and the owner was friendly, helpful, and very quick! I am so glad I brought my car here to get smog checked! This place was great. Fast, friendly. The owner even taught me about the musical instrument he had made from an old propane tank.

Best customer service EVER!!! We called ahead just to make sure they were available, guy was super friendly from the beginning. We arrived there and he did his job and explained everything to us. They are NOT a STAR station, just regular test but that's all we needed for the moment. A customer arrived that needed the star station and he was kind enough to give them directions. We'll be taking our cars here from now on. This place has a star on my book. read more

This is one of the best smog check stations I have ever been to. The owner is super professional, knowledgeable and a great person to talk to. I didn't make an appointment or anything just walked straight in and didn't have to wait that long to get my car done. This is a one man show, but the Owner is fast and hard working. He got my car's smog cert and I was on the road within 30 minutes. I had a couple friend sent here and they got their cars done just a fast. If you are in the North county this is the only place to get your car checked at. They do it all from Test only to regular to gross polluter. read more

Good honest guy. I called after fixing a emissions related issue on my car and told him I needed a smog so I can register my car after a title transfer. I told him that I reset my check engine light after completing the work. He told me not to come in yet to drive it around for at least 100 miles and then come in. Most shops would not give you info like that and charge you for a retest when it would inevitably fail due to the check engine light reset. Did the work quickly and efficiently especially considering he was the only one there and there were several people showing up as he was working that he had to address. Really nice small business owner that does the job well and competitively. read more
