We did have to wait a little over an hour to be seated, but the food was actually really tasty. I got the buffalo shrimp and the brussels sprout salad. And I loved both of them. Little heavy on the cheese on the salad, but that is rarely a bad thing. We also got dessert which was pretty tasty! The service was very efficient. The service was very lacking. They tool forever to give us our table. We asked for a table for 5, and gave us a small table for 2/4 with an extra chair (after waiting forever). We ordered and the food took 45+ min. The wedge salad was not good, very very sweet. Not recommended. read more

I have to tell you this is one of my favorite restaurants out east. GREAT drinks and the scenery and vibe is amazing. For the drinks, vibe, and scenery I give a 5/5....now for my 3/5- this is not a cheap restaurant by any means and the service does not match the price of the menu. When you go to Cowfish, you get subpar service when it should be the exact opposite! But nevertheless, it is a wonderful place to go in the summer. The location is ideal on the Shinnecock Canal. Although my boys aren't little, this place is both kid and adult friendly. Much of it is outdoors so on a rainy day it wouldn't be accommodating. We ate swordfish, salmon and Mahi Mahi. They were all very good. The sides of corn and beans and wild rice salad were something I will try to recreate at home. We liked the food selection better at sister restaurant Rumba, but Cowfish is definitely worth going to. read more

Just had lunch here today and outside of the picturesque scenery, our server Samantha really helped to make it a fun experience..so a big thank you to her!!! They had a guacamole special which being from So Cal was very skeptical of how good it would be but it was very flavorful. She also mentioned that their calm chowder was highly rated as best in the area..so I took her word for it..she was right..it was FANTASTIC!! I gave her a choice to bring me the Kale Salad or Brussel Sprouts salad. She brought the Brussel sprout. Who knew that you could make that taste so good!! Ate there yesterday for lunch my wife and I had the chicken club sandwich along with the lobster stuffed mushrooms it was an hour wait for the deck so we ate inside. It was great the AC was on and the temperature was perfect. Service was outstanding!!! Food is always great we love coming here for lunch it's quiet and the scenery is awesome you don't have to go all the way east on Long Island to get great food!! read more

The food is very good. I had the crab cakes and baked potato. The first drink I ordered wasn't to my liking, it was too sour. The server kindly replaced it with a mojito. The mojito was good but not great. The ambiance and the outdoor are was welcoming even though it was a bit chilly. Our server didn't check up after giving us our order. My S.o and myself always drove by this place in the summer and wanted to go in. Finally, we made a reservation. I'm so happy we did. Every single thing I ate and drank was amazing. We started with the lobster stuffed mushrooms, and I moved on to my main which was a scallop meal. Simply excellent. The cocktails complimented the food too. It was the dead of winter and it was cold, but the ambiance inside was great. I want to go back in the summer if I can, but I doubt I'll be able to get a reservation! Highly reccomend. read more

Great food, great service and fantastic atmosphere. We went for lunch- we waited only about 5 min and were given a comfortable table outside. Me and my family come here a lot, so it is no surprise I rate this place five stars. The property is amazing, and the food is fantastic. The staff is very nice so dont feel afraid to ask them questions. It is a good place to bring younger children because they have a pirate ship playset for them to burn of energy. I went here with a few friends for one last dinner before we headed home. Have to say, money well spent. The food is very good, especially the buffalo shrimp and spinach with artichoke dip appetizers. My friend said the swordfish was "OK". The atmosphere is relatively cozy with windows overlooking the water. You can reach this place from rumba (just up the road) if you take the ferry. They have round tables so if you have a large crowd you'll be able to face each other. Huge plus IMO. I'm giving it four stars because it took a while for our food to arrive. The apps came in about 15 minutes which was good, but after we finished the apps it took about 45 minutes for the main courses to arrive. Not terrible, but not good when everyone was really hungry. Despite that, the food was well worth it. Worth the money we paid. I'd come back here next time I'm out here. read more

Impromptu trip to the Hamptons to pick up wine at Wolffer Estates (total score their stuff is old world and just the best) and we're invited to stay over by friend in Hampton Bays. Cowfish for dinner, a wait on a Monday, a good sign. Wait was a little longer than promised but so what. Waiter was great, apps and dinner was too. Dessert - epic fail. Banana Cream Pie has bananas in it guys, not around it. See the reason is simple; warm custard reacts with bananas and multiplies the flavor causing deliciousness. Lack of Sweet coupled with dark chocolate that had no foil to compliment its own flavor profile leads to group of confused ingredients not knowing their roles. Also it was a mess (dropped?). Would I go back, a resounding yes! But I'll bring my own Pie lol. read more

Wish I could give no stars. Service was chaotic, slow and rude. Drove an hour on vacation to try this place with a group of people for a birthday party. Arrived and promptly seated with our reservation-- however-- they only do online menu viewing. Which there's minimal to no service and they didn't provide us with any wifi option. When we voiced our inability to load the menu they said we'll just take a screen shot and send it to each other when it does load. We asked about paper menus to which she said " no we'd have to throw those out if we gave them to you". Not okay. We then had our server, who introduced herself as such, gave us water but then was never to be seen again. A second server came over, still no drink order taken and just asked what we wanted to eat. We had no menus and asked for some paper ones which we eventually had found on our own at the host station!! Finally drinks were ordered and then apps. But the drinks never came and the apps came out in 2 mins as if it's all premade under a heat lamp. The cornbread was good otherwise the rest was mediocre. First round of Drinks came out after our apps were done, approx 20 mins after ordering them. Then for the meal..... RAW scallops and overcooked dry salmon. For the price the food was horrific. Two of the people from our party had GI issues later that night. Just an awful awful experience. Please avoid. They have a nice layout with outdoor seating by water but the food and service are horrific. Maybe good a drink and that's it. read more

My husband loves this place so we go often. Awesome setting and good service. I'm a little bored of the menu but have my go-tos (buffalo shrimp and salad). I do miss the French Dip that they used to have on the menu :( Definitely recommend! It's on the casual side so don't go expecting caviar and lobster rolls! read more
