Cowboy chicken is one of my favorite places in Longview to eat. The chicken is delectable, with the skin a little crispy but not burned and moist and juicy meat. There's a good choice of vegetables available, too, and as a diabetic who has a tough time finding low carb vegetable choices in some restaurants here that's a real plus. My favorite sides are the creamed spinach and tangy tomato and cucumber salad. The great price of the lunch special (2 pieces chicken, two sides, and a roll) of $4.99 makes their lunches one of the best deals in town so if you haven't tried Cowboy Chicken, give it a shot. read more

The food was very good and the service was great. They were short handed the day my family and I went in, but the staff had a desire to work hard and get it done. There work ethic was refreshing. Tried Cowboy's for the first time, its new to the area. Got takeout. It was fast and well packaged. Appreciated that they had a lot of sides to choose from, many of them low-fat. Food was good, the enchiladas were a little heavy on the cilantro. Did not like the tomato/cucumber salad. They have the wood fire rotisserie going, nice on a cool day. I really hate the OMG, but OMG this is one of the best damn food I have had in a long time and I have eaten in several states CONUS and Overseas. I had the BBQ chicken legs with okra, corn fritters, tortilla soup and apple cobbler....oh man thought I died and went to heaven. I spent 9 hrs on the road and checked into my hotel, called and they delivered right to my room. Great experience and good food. Went here later (8:00) on a Monday night and got some good food (Half chicken, mac & cheese, beans) to go. Great flavors. @ Crystal...um it's Cowboy CHICKEN?! Anyways, my kids love it here. They ask for it all the time and I don't mind bcz it's very reasonable ($2.99 for kids meal with a drink)! It's cheaper and alot healthier than a Happy Meal. I love that everyone is so friendly there and eager to please and I hope they keep it up even after the novelty of a new place to eat wears off bcz this is my favorite shopping center now, I get my nails done here have sum chicken and I love that new YogurtBar place too (review to follow). I am not a huge fan of chicken but this place manages to make me have chicken cravings. The service is always great at this location and they even have delivery which gives me another option for lunch besides Jimmy John's. The food is good, but the service is lacking. I love the cowboy taco and the fried okra. I recommend eating in the restaurant instead of taking food out, after my last experience: It took almost 30 minutes to get my takeout order. Then, when I got home, my order was wrong! I got ranch style beans (which I don't eat) instead of the fried okra that I had been looking forward to. Big disappointment. read more

Ordered for delivery online, online ordering system is well done and easy to use. All dishes were labeled with the names that we put in to save us the time of sorting it. Food was good as it always is from cowboy chicken. The service was the shining star though, the delivery was very prompt the delivery person was polite. The big part of it was the special request, I decided to use that line to request a drawing of a kangaroo on the bag, and the staff did it for us. Delicious food and excellent service! The chicken is cooked and seasoned perfectly. It's so nice to be able to find hormone-free chicken especially at such a great price. I had the 1/4 chicken with creamed spinach and sweet potato. It was all great and very fresh! My husband had the 3 piece dark with ranchero beans and mac n cheese. He loved the chicken and beans, but the mac n cheese was "just ok". His favorite part of the meal was the beans. We both had meals and drinks for around $20. It was so delicious we ordered a family meal to enjoy tomorrow. A whole chicken, 2 sides, and 4 rolls for less than $20 is a really good deal and enough food for us to both eat all day. Really BAD! I had the grilled chicken dinner and the chicken was dry and tough. The mac and cheese was not good. The fried okra was the best thing on my plate and it was not crispy. The peach cobbler was bland. They young man who took our order was good but the overall service was not good. It took a long time to get our food and the order was incomplete. Really great fast food atmosphere but the food is much better than that. We always come in while in town visiting LeTourneau University. The chicken is great but the fresh sides are the best. The service was great....the food was great....I had NO complaints. There is some criticism but not a complaint.....they could make their drink section a little more accessible but then again....it's not a huge area...so it's ok....I can live with it. So delicious!! I am normally not a fan of chicken on the bone... but this chicken just falls off the bone; and there were no gristles or yucky parts. It was all quality white chicken breast. So good! Also, their enchilladas are amazing!! So much flavor. The atmosphere is nice too. I love the way they have the rotissere over displayed. Cowboy Chicken....where do I start. First of all...I understand by the name there must be an abundance of chicken, but the fact there is no beef or pork of any kind is ridiculous, as these are staples of American cuisine. Your typical mini mall atmosphere combined with typical minimum wage payed high school kids service lead me to believe the cooks are also underpaid as well, especially by the Hungry-Manesque flavors that fell short of even McAlister's quality on a Saturday night when all the good cooks are off. I was surprised by the fact I was more pleased by my Big Mac combo earlier that day, which says quite a bit in the culinary world(pretty much bottom of the barrel here people). I suppose the worst of it were the "farty" sweet potatoes which were undercooked and the butternut squash reminded me of rotten pumpkins in a bin sitting in front of a grocery store for a few weeks too long before Halloween. In all if you are in a hurry on lunch break with less than ten dollars to spend, I would advise you go ahead and bring your tuna fish sandwich and chili cheese fritos, and if you want chicken and green beans, Hungry-Man makes a fine package for less than four bucks.... read more
