Alligator & shrimp po boy sandwich.
    Eric T.

Its like enjoying a slice of Louisiana, yet in Texas. Yard Bird is located adjacent to the Texas Welcome Center (directly on the right side). You'll miss it if you drive directly to I-20 westbound. I've tried the shrimp sandwich on a previous trip, and found it to be good, yet wanting. This entree could've been sold at a larger quantity. Enter the shrimp & gator sandwich. Complete with a bag of chips, this sandwich is just enough to satisfy your hunger. Better quantity than the shrimp sandwich, and about $1-2 more. Highly worth purchasing. With a bottle of water, I probably spent just over $13 total. Parking is somewhat limited, so you are better off parking on the street of you can't find space directly next to the restaurant. Get over here when coming back home to Texas!

This place rocks! A hidden gem! We stopped at the information center next door. We love to find new and unique places, so we wondered over. Wow! Glad we did. Menu is different. Not your usual boring stuff. We decided to share a po'boy. Ordered the one with shrimp, fried green tomato and bacon. Prepared quick. Served on a delicious roll. Flavors were perfect. So much more we wanted to try. The inside is quaint and inviting. You feel like you're stopping by a favorite friend's home. Wooden chairs and tables. Simple but whimsical decorations. It's small but spacious. This business is family run. The young lady that waited on us was genuinely friendly. She talked to us about the menu and answered our questions. We will make a point to stop again when traveling in this area! Highly recommend!!

Nice place we visited for lunch. Food was good, but could a bit more seasoning. The only thing additional that I dislike in any restaurant is the baskets with wax paper the food is served in. You'll be eating wax paper mixed with your food! Why not have regular plates? Even plastic plates or even styrofoam containers would be better. Enough of my petty gripes here. Otherwise nice place with friendly staff and definitely worthwhile visiting.

If you enjoy country food then ...Yard Bird is WELL worth the stop !!!! Right on the side of the rest area of LA/TX border. You can smell the food from the parking lot and it was on point !!!! They do serve coffee, breakfast and dinner and crawfish served @3pm - I did not have to wait long for my food. Service was great I left happy with a full stomach and will return again !

Didn't try the food but the snowball stand was worth the visit. Being from New Orleans originally I'm very picky about my snowballs, but as soon as I heard they used SnoWizard syrups I knew I was in the right place. They also hooked my dog up with some snow to help him beat the heat. It's at the rest stop on the way in from LA to TX so keep an eye out and pull over if you have the opportunity. You won't be disappointed.

This Fabulous Family Restaurant is located right on the border of Keithville and Stonewall, Louisiana. They offer a wide variety of mouthwatering dishes, daily specials, beverages and scrumptious desserts to satisfy every palate. Just check their menu for the hours and offerings. With a warm and inviting atmosphere, this cafe provides a welcoming space for locals and visitors alike. My husband and I learned about them on the Tasty Tuesday news article that was featured on KTBS. When we asked how they got started, the owners Tanesha and Wade Hall responded that they opened their restaurant, LeaIV's Cafe, at the beginning of the summer because they love to cook and realized, as Stonewall residents, that there are very few food options in town. We agreed, for as we told them, just in visiting Shreveport, we noticed limited quality options, other than our cooking the food ourselves. Tanesha also said that it all started at her business, Inner Quality Services, in Stonewall when she and Wade started selling plates out of the building. It became a big enough hit that they decided to move to this current site at 671 U.S. Hwy. 171 Suite M as soon as it became available. For us, Sunday dinner always means family and the sharing of love through a meal cooked straight from the heart. We happen to believe that every day should feel like Sunday, full of prayer, joy and love. So we are excited about this mutual belief that their family has also shared and enjoyed for many years. Everything we have tasted in our visits at LeaIV's has been "spot on" delicious. The perfect seasoning and jovial atmosphere is on point, so warm, inviting and flavorful with Friendliness, Love, Kindness and Soul. We keep coming back whenever we get the chance. Come on down and try LeaIV's Cafe. You will not be disappointed!

I went to two different places in Bossier, the first didn't have any and said they were too expensive. The place I visited only sold them on Thursday. Due to the distance I gave up the visiting Thursday so I Googled "Oxtails near me". Low and behold I discovered this fine Dining Establishment 1 1/2 miles away. So I called and asked if they had oxtails today and was told "Yes". Upon entering I felt right at home and saw many locals enjoying their meals. Everything looked appealing. I paid the same price here as I do in Virginia. The food was bulging yet truly stuffed to the point of overflowing...HUGE portions and it all tastes good. Large pieces of oxtails too. I was served enough food that will last at least 2-4 days. This is my go to place for all my meals while in Stonewall.

My boyfriend's chicken biscuit was the perfect blend of spice and honey-sweet. Chicken was fried well, still juicy. My sausage gravy biscuit was fantastic as well. We tried the beignets and French toast that our friends got, those were also really good. This remodel has been amazing for this place. Very clean, great service. Seriously, no complaints. The original owners relocated to the area due to storm damage after Katrina. New Orleans' loss of this restaurant was Shreveport's gain. The original decor in the former gas station/garage wasn't terrible, but the lawn chairs were replaced with comfy wooden chairs and the decoration and flow of the restaurant and bar is a significant upgrade. You will still recognize the place, but it's just much nicer now. The big question - how is the food under the new owners? In a word - comparable. The jambalaya and ettouffee are still truly Cajun and excellent. I would still rate this as likely the best Cajun spot in Northern LA. A friend eating with us reported that the PoBoys, while excellent, aren't true poboy bread, if you're from Lafayette or farther south. If you're not from that area, you're not going to notice, as they are awesome. Even people from that area enjoyed their PoBoys while commenting on the difference. Service is just as friendly under the new owners, and they were swamped when we were there earlier today. Prices are still good. I love that the pepper on the menu next to the etouffee was actually met with some heat. So often that is not the case. For me, it was a nice kick. Highly recommended for a visit when you're in town.

The okra was fresh cut, fresh battered, fresh fried, unlike every other place I get it where you can tell it's out of a bag. Hot water cornbread was ah-mazing. I only wish I had honey to slather on it along with the butter. White gravy was fantastic, with just a hint of sweetness we couldn't quite put our finger on.
