Avoid at all costs.
Y'all I was referred here by a friend. This was a huge mistake to choose this company to move my home.
I had a 1bedroom &study / 1bath apartment moving to a 2/2, 3rd floor apartment. Which is why I hired movers along with other reasons. Hiring this company is by far one of the worst mistakes I've made. I was at work and my boyfriend was there to oversee the move and communicate any complications with me.
Let's start with the lack of professionalism. I made arrangements by calling the number on their site to set up the move. I had to confirm the evening before via text and the person I was communicating with was out of town away on a trip which I was not notified of prior. Later to find out it was a partner in the company and they contract out movers for you. They do not employ their own movers. I was quoted for 3 hour move and 2 men to move the apartment.
The guys show up an hour late with no phone call to notify. When they arrived, their truck was locked so one of the movers called his girlfriend to unlock the vehicle. The "girlfriend" was moving our boxes and this was not discussed ahead of time with either of us. I had no idea whether or not she was bonded with the company and certainly did not agree on a third mover. When I tried to contact the owner, he was unreachable due to "poor cell phone service". I also tried to reach the office phone number and kept getting voicemail. I tried to speak with the movers over the phone to notify them that the girlfriend needs to vacate the premises until I have verification she is bonded and also confirmation that I am not paying for a 3rd person. This is where things really went down hill.
The girl was dismissed from our property and the guys were highly frustrated about this. On the 7 mile drive to my new apartment, yes 7 miles, the movers stopped at a convenience store for snacks and drinks for about half an hour. They didn't realize my boyfriend went to the gas station too and was already inside. He overheard the movers cussing and bad mouthing saying how they "won't take (insert profanity) from no one."
Once they got to the new apartment, this took them 2.5 hours to unload WITH my boyfriends help!! Yes, he had to help them to move them along. They were taking their time taking multiple smoke breaks and rest periods. Fast forward to when I'm off work, I stop by my old apartment to find HALF OF MY APARTMENT WAS NOT MOVED!! And majority of the garage furniture, was (which i specifically requested it to not be moved!) I sent the owner messages about this and he either doesn't respond due to poor service or is very dismissive. Fast forward to arriving to my new apartment.... I find out ALL OF MY KITCHEN GLASSWARE IS BROKEN. 4+ LARGE FURNITURE ITEMS ARE BROKEN & my daughters Solid Wood Play Closet is completely broken! ALL of our boxes were punctured and smashed in, too.
So, these guys took 5 hours to move a 3 hour job and DID NOT EVEN MOVE half of my apartment out. Moved furniture that was not supposed to be touched, to a 3rd floor apartment. The start to finish time was 5.5 hours and I had to pay extra and extend our child care for that day, last minute. 30 min. of that 5.5 hours was them stopping at the store for drinks & snacks.
I was told by the owner/partner, Chad, that they would "discount" me to 5 hours of move and not charge me for the 3rd person. Discount me to 5 hours which is what it took for them to "move", The 3rd person was NOT even supposed to be onsite or moving any of our belongings and they are costing me so much more money then imaginable. Oh and did I mention, I packed all the kitchen glassware in a box with padded Styrofoam, bubble wrapped and cushioned extra because it has been passed down in the family. And it is ALL BROKEN.
We also had a tool bag in the garage that had $5k-$10K value in tools in that bag, alone and it is missing along with other items.
I packed and moved big boxes down to the garage to make it easier/faster to move. I specifically requested only a few furniture items and the boxes be moved from my garage. The movers were late, brought their girlfriend WITHOUT consent(she was only supposed to unlock truck) broke major furniture items, smashed in ALL moving boxes, shattered all kitchen glassware, did not move half of my apartment and took twice the estimated time, moved the wrong furniture up 3 flights of stairs and I had to hire people to get it back down and help me clean out the old apartment -due to a foot injury I have and a 12 month old, my hands are already very full. The movers were contracted, unprofessional, late, took MANY smoke breaks on my time, broke and damaged many items.
I'm now missing $5K-$10K in tools and cleaning supplies and equipment.
JUST DON'T. It's not worth the $80 "you'll save" in estimate costs when it puts you out of large furniture items, kitchen glassware, $5k+ in tools, and then still have to hire movers to fix their mistakes and move the rest read more
