We when's here for lunch. I can't remember the name of the salad but it was incredible. Also got some roasted vegetables on the side that are really good. Good vegetarian options. Also if you're a meat eater they have excellent steaks. Our waitress was really good. I like the Decor. On one side of the restaurant it's low light and kind of classy. The other side has a patio with big open windows. The only downside is it's next to a giant refinery. So the scenery is lacking. But it's kind of hard to get away from refineries on this end of town. I can't wait to come back to try things on the menu. Prices were reasonable for lunch. read more

This use to be my favorite steak house. The steak was ok and the rolls were hard as rocks and burned. I should have stuck with the steak because adding the scallops at $18 was a mistake. They gave us 2 burnt scallops on a plate of rice and charged me $18 a plate. Normally I don't complain but when I asked about the amount of scallops at $18 she said that is how they come as an add on. When she went back to the kitchen I over heard her talking about us and they were in the back making some rude comments. Maybe this is not the place for us. Best steak in Toledo now! (Better meal for your buck and better service than Mancy's.) Order your steaks Pittsburgh-style for a crisp, chargrilled crust then order to your preferred doneness. The casserole potato is a twice baked potato with a sour cream horseradish sauce. It's a favorite among the locals but you may be better off ordering a different style of potato. The only reason people seem to go is because of childhood memories. The steak is a 3 at Best at a Five Points. Most of you do not want to admit it but they are a mediocre Steakhouse at best. Any place that has Refinery workers going to on a regular basis is not a good thing. Most of them are cheap and what cheap steaks that's what they do. I have come to realize the Toledo people have no taste whatsoever. They would give McDonald's four stars. This is a fact so you can take it like that. read more

The menu says that steaks are the specialty. Unfortunately, it's not very special if your steak has no flavor. My husband said his tasted like cardboard and was very tough. I also ordered the potato casserole that is another 'famous for' item. I guess I should have asked more about it, because it was covered with way too much of the ranch? sauce that would be better off on the side!!! Salad, bread and French onion soup was tasty, but that didn't fully satisfy. The service was spotty; started off strong but didn't keep up. It had been many years since our last visit. My wife and I have been going to Cousino's for a few years now. Our first experience there was horrible and we did not go back for about two years. We ended up getting invited to a birthday party there and discovered that the food had improved. We started going back about twice a month and other than a few hiccups in service had always been satisfied. We had dinner there the weekend before valentines day and my wife said she would like to come back to celebrate our anniversary which just happens to be on valentines day. I made reservations when we were leaving. Valentines day came and we arrived at the restaurant and were not surprised it was packed. We got seated after about a 15 minute wait because we had made reservations the week before. The waitress took our drink order and asked if we would like an appetizer. We asked for the deep fried mushrooms which we always get and was told that they are not serving those. We were a bit shocked and asked to see the menu. We quickly noticed that the only things on the menu were the higher priced appetizers and entrees. We opted to not have an appetizer because we did not like any of the choices. When the server came back to take our order my wife asked for the prime rib special that was on the menu board as you walk in. She was told that the only thing available was what was on the abbreviated menu. She settled for something that she really did not want some sort of chicken fried steak mess. I looked for the Reuben sandwich and of course it was not on the menu either. I ordered the chicken Parmesan which I really did not want. The food came and right away I knew I was stopping to get a pizza on the way home. My meal was just about floating in a plate full of watery marinara that ended up being luke warm and tasteless. I am a big eater and very rarely leave anything on my plate but when asked if I needed a box at the end of the meal I said no thanks and left my barely half eaten meal. My wife's dinner was equally disappointing and it was barely warm which leads me to believe they were pre made and microwaved. I was going to complain to the restaurant directly but cannot find an email address to send it too. I think it is really crap that they do this sort of bait and switch on the menu to just make a bigger buck by exploiting the holiday. I'm sure if we went back on a non holiday it probably would be the same as we had experienced in the past . I am not sure we will ever go back because of these antics. Too bad. read more

Last visit was really disappointing. Service was really slow, almost 15 minutes wait to place our order after we got our drinks (not busy at the time, many empty tables).the waitress seemed annoyed when I asked about the seasonal and monthly beer selections and when my Mother in law asked about side dish choices(if you don't want people asking about them print the choices on the menu.) we were disappointed that they no longer bring dinner rolls to the table unless you request them, it would be nice if they asked if you would like some The deep fried Mushrooms were great but,The house sirloins were tasty but was almost 1/3 fat and the French onion soup was nearly tasteless. This was a really hard review to write, we have dined here at least 80 times in the last 7 or 8 years. Over the last 2 years or so I have noticed the quality of the food and service slipping. Sat at the bar. Place was busy, ordered a bottle of wine, good but overpriced. Salad came out in a timely manner. After that it went down hill, an hour later and still no food. Manager was apologetic and didn't charge for the meal. Paid for the wine and left. Most likely will be the last time I visit them. read more

My wife and I went to Cousino on a Saturday afternoon. It was buffet time and just looking at the food should have been warning not to sit down. For starters they had cheesecake sitting out for consumption on the buffet. They looked like they had been sitting out for hours. Needless to say, it didn't make either one of us want to hurry up and order. My wife ordered a Grilled Chicken Salad, while I ordered a Steakhouse burger. I ordered my burger medium. When we got our food, her salad was drowned in Ranch Dressing. My burger was very well done, and dry. The fries that was accompanying it, looked as if it was bought at the frozen food section of the local Kroger grocery store. Fortunately when I complained about the burger they did offer to make me a new one, I said no, and they refunded me the cost of the burger. I wouldn't try the place again read more

Don't book your holiday dinner at Cousinos. I booked a table a month in advance for my family's Christmas Celebration. My family and I showed up last night 12-14-2012 at 6:50 for our 7:00 reservation. Only to be told that the table that I had reserved on the pation in front of the fireplace was given away to a bigger party. What ? I was very upset and reminded the young ladies that were at the desk that I had booked this table on the patio a month ago. I was told that they never guarentee tables. Again What? I said I was never told that why would someone reserve a table if it wasnt guranteed ? I kept getting BS excuses as to why our table was given away Only when I pulled out my notes on who I spoke with regarding the bookig our reservation and said well Morgan took my reservation. One of the young ladies said oh I'm Morgan. I said wellMorgan you never told me the 3 times I called throughout the month that our table was not guarenteed. in fact it was the opposite. Morgan said we are all set. My husband at this point ask for the manager. A young man came out and intorduced himself as Cory Cousin, he was very smug.. He told us that we could wait 40 minutes for our orginal table because our table was given away to a group that frequents there alot. Nice.. why did I make reservations ???????????? He Has alot to learn about customer service. I was not a happy person. If it wasn't for the fact that I had my family there and it was Friday night I would of left. We wnded up having to wait 15 minutes for another table back by the kitchen and it was very very crowded. Cory gave us have 2 complimentary appetizers. We selected Spinach Artichoke Dip & Onion Rings. The chips were stale. FOOD BELOW AVERAGE.. Our bill was $180.... money not well spent. VERY DISAPPOINTED. We will not be returning there anytime soon. Great place in Oregon - steak was delicious and well cooked, salad was amazing with beets and homemade blue cheese dressing, and rolls were warm and tasty. Couldn't finish it all! Stopped in around 7:30 for dinner on Saturday, November 14th. We were very pleased to be seated immediately, even though the lot was almost full. Great young waiter (sorry..totally forgot his name) suggested the hanger steak special and that was my choice. I had read about a hanger steak before (sometimes called a "butcher's steak"), but had never tried it. Cousino's serves theirs on a metal plate and topped with crumbled bleu cheese and onion straws. I ordered it medium rare and it was cooked perfectly. My side was the crispy home fries and they were very good and homemade. My partner had the jumbo shrimp and he wasn't disappointed at all. They were definitely "jumbo" shrimp and well prepared. He went with the smashed redskins as a side and said they were tasty. We both had a salad, he had the Italian dressing and I went with the Bleu Cheese. I would say that it almost tasted like a combo of bleu cheese and ranch, but it was still good. (I am not a ranch fan). The only disappointment was that they serve you just one dinner roll and it's on your salad plate. Not that I needed a ton of bread, but they were nice and warm and fresh and a second one would have been great. However..I didn't ask, either..so it's possible they might have brought more. This place is old a and a little outdated, was recommended to us but we did not care much for it . We got house sirloin and it was tough cooked medium, was pink in the middle! Green beans had no flavor. Salad had only 3 cucumber slices 2 cherry tomatoes , 3 small beet slices croutons. As good as it gets for a steakhouse! The atmosphere is like being in another era where fine dining was so community oriented. Steaks are always excellent..cooked to perfection! The potato casserole is one of a kind...delicious. The breaded mushrooms are so addicting, I crave them at least once a month, Nice wine list too. The food here has always been decent. However it used to be AMAZING. The soup used to be my favorite item to get here, however with the changes over the years the food has less of a consistent taste. It's sort of a crap shoot if you are going to get good food or not. read more

I've been coming to Cousino's for over 25 years, and have never had a bad, or even "sub-par" meal here. My job takes me across the US, and I look for these type of restaurants, where I know that I can get an exceptional steak, and never leave feeling hungry. Their 28oz Porterhouse, with the twice baked potatoes, cannot be beat in this town. Their steaks are full of flavor, and don't just taste like "meat". This is one of my favorite restaurants in town. It is a short drive from downtown and worth the trip from wherever you are in the Toledo area. These folks do steak right but there is something on the menu for everyone. My favorite is the house sirloin. I get the 8oz with casserole potato for $16. It comes with a colorful house salad loaded with fresh goodness. Far too many places toss junk lettuce in their salad...not Cousino's. They have better cuts if you desire but this sirloin is always a great cut cooked perfectly to order. If I could make up my own classification for the atmosphere, I would call it fancy-casual. read more

We have been regular customers at Cousino's for over 12 years. We had the worst meal there tonight that I have ever had at a steakhouse. 4 of the 5 steaks that were delivered to our table were grossly over cooked. after being sent back, 2 of the 5 were again over cooked. my son sent his back 4 times and it was still over done. After the 4th steak, he just decided to eat it because he had somewhere to be. When I asked to speak the manager, she refused to make any adjustment to the bill. I am canceling our next reservations that we had scheduled for my son's high school graduation party. I will never return to Cousino's and it's a shame because it used to be a great Steak for a very reasonable price. read more

Love this place! Good always good as is the service. Try the chicken for an appetizer. Steaks are my personal choice. Bread pudding. Yum!!! Best around. Tried the lobster tail once. Great. Be careful though of the air. Sometimes it's way to cold. Bring a light jacket or sweater. Bathrooms are usually clean as well. They do offer a variety of foods and beverages. If you have a teen looking for a job. Do not let them work here. My son recently worked here and had a horrible experence. They worked him (aged 16) with out his proper paper work for a work permit, worked him 10 plus hours without a break. He was ignored by his manger on multiple occasions when trying to ask for breaks. Avoid this over priced gaff joint at all costs. From the mealy mouthed waiter to the 1 hour & 15 minute wait for the wrong dishes, this place will always be a terrible memory. We ordered steaks & they made us wait well over an hour to find out that they reversed the cooking order so mine was medium well instead of med rare, & my dads was med rare instead of medium well. After I pointed these & other facts out, a dyed blonde hostess then had the gall to ask for the uneaten portions of steak back!! LOL!!!!!! Only in a hick town in the dreary Midwest. Came in from out of town and ate here for a wedding. Service was slow as molasses. Ordered onions with my steak and they brought them out about 20 minutes after the steak arrived. They served about half the party salt water instead of regular water. No joke, they served us salt water on accident repeatedly. Food was okay. Nothing great. Went to Cousino's for a family dinner. Usually we have a good meal, but this time my husband ordered the house steak medium. It came out very well done and very tough. The waitress should stay until you cut into the steak to see if it is done or at least come back right away. I ordered a Tiffiny salad and asked to have no bacon and no tomatoes but beets instead. Well, I got my salad with bacon and no beets!! The rolls were under cooked and tasted doughy. Not going back for a very long time! I know you are probably saying we should have sent the items back but we had a pretty big crowd and didn't want to wait for another meal. Is it so hard to get it done right the first time?
