Just checked into the Courtyard by Marriott at St. Augustine Beach. The hotel is a great location as it is within a one block walk to the beach. The room was clean and spacious. Due to COVID, there was no daily cleaning service, no coffee in your room, and the Bistro was closed, which was a total bummer for me. I don't think I realized before making my plans for this trip that things would be so limited. It is not a reflection of the hotel. The staff all have masks on. Everyone was required to wear a mask any time you were in the halls or elevators. The pool area was very nice. It is within walking distance to many restaurants and bars. I totally give it a thumbs up. read more

We moved to this hotel after a one night stay at a terrible "resort" down the road. What a breath of fresh air! The rooms are large and spacious and every was clean, cool and comfortable. Staff was friendly and helpful. This hotel is just one block's walk to the beach and 100% worth it! read more

Excellent service. 149 for the night w a beach view. We arrived at night and a fire pit was roaring on the back patio. Elevator and everything in good repair. Our room had 2 queen beds and a chair. Nice tv setup w free hbo, wifi signal was strong. The bistro/lobby area was very attractive although we didn't make use of it. My favorite touch was the really pretty wall art in the bathroom featuring the local fort... also the bathroom was spotless. Will def stay again when in the area. Not good. I checked in october 26, staying through oct 29. The room was ok, But I had a very inappropriate encounter with an employee named Robert while staying there. I was sitting by the pool at 9 am on the 27th, and I was approached by Robert and asked "Are you alone? Do you have a boyfriend?". I was here alone, going on a small stay cation from Jacksonville Florida. I am a 24 yr old woman. I said I am married. I did not feel comfortable to stay any longer because of his questions and type of approach, so I checked out on the 27th early. I was afraid he might be able to go into my room because he was an employee and I felt entirely unsafe. I had prepaid 3 nights, and upon early checkout I asked to speak with a manager. The front desk asked why and I said because of comments an employee made. I told the manager that I did not want anything, but I wanted to make her aware of this so other young women do not have this happen to them. She went on to say "I know Robert, he didn't mean it like that, we are safe here, that is not tolerated, these men are from Jamaica". These men are from Jamaica? Weirdest excuse for a predators comments ever. I am appalled at the manager, she was a woman herself and should know better than this. Being from Jamaica doesn't give you an excuse to ask a woman if she's alone, and if she has a boyfriend. It was entirely uncomfortable to even be around the woman manager. She treated me like this happens more than just a few times. I would not recommend you stay if you are alone, as the place feels entirely predatory. The staff is made up of men who looked at me like I was a piece of meat, Robert just was the only one to say something inappropriate. I am astonished that the manager just left it at that and didn't apologize or even say anything about taking appropriate measures to accommodate me. I'm back at home now, I will never stay in a Marriott hotel again, especially this one. Stay away, it is NOT a safe establishment and they do not put the safety of their customers on their priority list at all. I paid $550 to stay one night at a hotel room that had black mold in the bathroom, coffee stains on the wall, and terrified that this man would somehow find out which room I was in and take it even a step further. Feel free to contact me if you would like to remediate this situation, a higher up manager truly should, this is not right to do to a young woman or any woman. Thank you. read more

Would have given five stars except for the coarse bathroom and facial tissue, cheap toilet seat that keeps slipping, and the stainless steel shower drain bar that is incredibly loud when water drips on it. I was very happy that the Courtyard Marriott exceeded my expectations. Our room "331" was immaculate, absolutely spotless. We booked the suite and were pleased to have such a beautiful ocean view. The suites are spacious, 520 sqft I believe. The pool is very clean, plenty of towels available to dry off with as well. Very respectful guests at the pool as well. The front desk staff were genuinely kind and I actually believe they want the guests stay to pleasantly begin as they enter the building. I couldn't sneak by without being greeted verbally or with a big grin. I cannot remember the front desk woman's name, it was something like Laike, anyway she was super awesome. read more

First, I want to say that the employees who tried assisting me with numerous issues were terrific, but I've never heard back from the manager even though I've left four messages. We had to be moved four times to get a halfway decent room. The TV not working, the air conditioning not working, finding a room that had air-conditioning but it sounded like a freight train running through the room, then, finally a room that had air-conditioning and TV. The room we finally stayed in for the balance of our stay, had crumbling walls (as the others had as well) in the bathroom due to excessive rust, tiles falling off the walls, food left by previous guests in the refrigerator, and soap and shampoo dispensers weren't attached to the wall. I would like to say that there were three employees who were excellent, Joe (who moved us to numerous rooms), Jodi in the cafe, and Sue, who finally got us a room that was halfway decent. I have to say that this is the worst stay I have ever had at any Marriott. read more

The only issue I have deals with housekeeping policies. I spent 2 nights here and never saw housekeeping. We had to make desk visit to get towels and dumped our own trash. The reason given is that they clean every other day. if you are here for 2 nights, you are out of luck. read more

Let's start by saying that Daniel, Cole, Barbara and Tim were sooo awesome that our experience was super amazing. Also housekeeping was great too. This was a base for St. Augustine, Daytona Beach and even a quick peek at Orlando. Breakfast was amazing. Can wait to make this an annual girls getaway. This Marriott is not as nice as it use to be. There is an overwhelming smell of bleach around the building because that's how they clean it.. they just spray it with bleach. A lot of the chairs are ripped around pool and sitting areas. The towels are not clean. And the barista worker at 10am on may 26, 2023 was one of the rudest women I've ever met. She was snippy, rolled her eyes at me, moody and had an awful attitude. Not impressed Marriott. read more

I really appreciate the location of this hotel. The best part is you were right across the street from the beach. It was so quiet and so pleasant. Good location. Walk across the street to ocean. We walked to plenty of restaurants as well. New hotel with very attentive staff. They opened the hotel March 2016. Lisa at the front desk was especially friendly. Would stay again. Free wifi. There is a restaurant right across the street that gives 10% off with your room key and they serve breakfast. I didn't eat in the hotel but they have a Bistro serving breakfast and evening meals. I did have Starbucks cappuccino in the morning. Which I took on a long morning beach walk. The quiet beach was pristine and very lovely. Soft white sand with small dunes. This is a good location for the beach vibe. Drive 10-15 mins to historic St Augustine. read more

Anytime I travel for vacation, I really do my research to make sure I'm finding the best place for the best value. This location was terrific. It was conveniently located on A1A, a minute walk to the beach, and just short walks to local restaurants and shops in the nearby area. The hotel was very modern and very new. Everything throughout the hotel was very clean and the staff was extremely friendly. The pool area was large and the patio area was massive that included multiple fire pits and plenty of seating. A small bistro is located in the lobby that serves breakfast and appetizers for dinner. No real big entrees as it was almost meant for holding people over for dinner. The bistro area was very nice and they had an above average menu. Our room was impressive. It was so simple and very well designed. Space was utilized very well and there was plenty of room to lounge around. The room included a rather large workspace area, a very nice HD TV on a swivel, allowing you to rotate it when you wanted to sit on the small couch or rotate it to watch while lying in bed, a small mini fridge, coffee maker and a very nice bathroom with a walk-in shower. We were on the fourth floor, which gave us a nice view of the beach. If you're looking to come here on vacation this hotel is highly recommended. There are roughly a dozen small restaurants within walking distance and the beach is about a minute walk. It doesn't feel touristy whatsoever and it is a very laid-back environment without being overly crowded. read more

The front desk staff is incredibly nice and provided many great tips on how best to access the beach and what local eateries were worth checking out. Currently staying here and have no access to the front desk, nor do they answer there phone. States that they offer free toiletries but only after 11pm in order to go downstairs to receive them and no is there or answer the phone. Also, do not expect room service because that ends after 11pm as well. And if you're thirsty, plan on spending money unlike other hotels with their free complimentary water bottles. read more

This is a really nice Courtyard! It's located right across the street from the beach (a short 7 minute walk)--though I don't think any of the rooms have a true ocean view as the building is only four stories and there are some houses in the way across the street. The lobby is ENORMOUS and has several different types of seating areas and houses the cafe/bar. It does have unusual hours so be sure to double check those when you check in so you know when to grab breakfast or a final drink. It also leads to the outdoor pool and fitness room. The pool was also huge--seriously, I felt like Michael Phelps could do his laps in it--and the fitness room was surprisingly well equipped. We had booked adjoining rooms and they were really nice--definitely a good size and very light, bright and airy. I really appreciated that each room had unique, local flair. One of our rooms had the Castillo de San Marcos Monument featured on a bathroom wall! It was frustrating that the adjoining doors couldn't be propped open on their own--we had to use suitcases to keep them open. I did notice one room had a tub/shower combo and the other had just a shower so if you're picky about having one or the other, be sure to mention it at check-in or booking! PRO TIP: If you're heading into downtown St. Augustine, leave the car at the hotel and take an Uber in--it's way easier than trying to find parking and, if there's not a surge, it's only $10! read more

This Marriott is OK they've updated it from years past. When the AC goes on it is extremely cold and when it goes off then it gets warm. There's a ceiling vent in the bathroom that kept making noise. So we turned on the fan to mask it. The bed wasn't as comfortable as some of the other Marriotts. The gentleman at the counter were very helpful when we requested places to go to dinner. We picked one and they agreed it was great and suggested some desserts but I was too full after eating. The toilet seat needs some adjustment as it was loose. If you feel a coffee cup and put it in the coffee maker the water it would overflow so be careful. read more

I am getting so done with Marriott! I am a Titanium member, have been for years, and every week it seems like Marriott properties do something new to take value away from "Bonvoy" members. The latest is with this Courtyard, bumped pts. needed for stay by 50% from yesterday! 50% increase! Yeah, I know I know, they can set whatever they want now with the new policy, but they are behaving more and more like the airline industry, which trust me, isn't good. Add to that you can't even get housekeeping services every day now, used to be they comp'd you pts if you turned down service every day, now you can choose to get it every other day or not at all! Turn of the new year I will be trying Hilton, don't have the status there that I have with Marriott, but if the status doesn't add value, then what is the difference. read more

The rooms at this hotel are beautiful and comfortable! Great decor not your usual chain look! Beds are very comfortable! Everything is kept spotless and the people who work here are friendly! Terrible customer service. Had an extra $30 charge on my room and so I called and spoke with Marsha. She looked into it and told me that someone charged beers and water to our room number and mentioned my last name. We advised her that we do not even drink and nobody in our room brought these things. She just merely said there's nothing they can do and we are responsible for those charges. It is unacceptable to charge things to someone's room without verifying their identity. read more

This place is filthy. The lobby area check I. Is full of dust. Common areas floors are not clean and the elevator is gross. We had mold in our shower and shower faucet was broken. I talked to the manager and she blew me off. I am a platinum member and stay 200 plus nights at various Marriott hotels and this by far is the dirtiest. Fortunately the pros outweighed the cons for this visit. Relatively new property so it had a fresh new feel for the most part. The lobby area is designed for comfort and was also very aesthetically appealing. There's an area with computers and printers for the business travelers or guests needing to print venue tickets or vouchers like us. There's a fitness center with all the essentials plus TVs and complimentary earbuds. The Bistro area has TVs at each of the booths with remotes so your group can watch what they choose while they eat or have cocktails, and they serve Starbucks drinks. Outdoor pool area with loungers and additional umbrellaed patio seating as well. The rooms were mostly clean and offer comfy beds, coffee and fridge for your convenience. The extended suites are roomy with nice size bathrooms. Which leads to the cons for this visit. The shower liner in our bathroom had black mold and what appeared to be splashed shower gel on it. I reported it to staff as we left to go enjoy the city and asked that the liner be changed out. Upon our return we discovered It didn't happen. The room was not properly vacuumed either. They offered to take $ off our final bill as an apology for leaving the dirty liner but then proceeded to charge the original amount so we had to go back to them yet again to get that corrected. I will give them another chance but I will stay around and follow up if I find something that needs correcting on my next visit. They have to give their cleaning crew a little more training in thorough cleaning. read more

Nice stay, would book again. The room and common areas were clean and up to date. No hassles with hotel parking, just needed to keep a pass on your dashboard. The beach and a couple restaurants are a 3 minute or less walk from the hotel. Tip: There is a water hose to the left of the front entrance you can use to get the sand off. read more

We went to the Courtyard to use our free Marriott stay with the Marriott credit card. The staff was friendly, the room was clean and spacious, and it was conveniently located to the beach and some good, casual restaurants. We were not so thrilled with the cafe downstairs, which closed early the night we were staying there. We had talked about getting a drink on our way back into the hotel but that wasn't possible because it closed early. As long as you don't expect to get anything from the cafe, though, this is a great, inexpensive hotel within walking distance of the beach and some good, casual restaurants. read more

We were traveling far on a road trip so last minute booked this hotel late. There was another hotel in the area that was a Marriott but this one has better reviews. The room was clean, bed comfortable and was across from the beach. It's in walking distance to restaurants and coffee shops. The only down fall is they close their breakfast and coffee early in the morning. I walked down around 10 and wasn't able to get any food or hot coffee which sent me to take my business elsewhere. Buyer beware pay attention to what site you're using to book this hotel Priceline will not allow you to apply discounts such as AAA or military they will tell you to ask at the check-in then when you check in the hotel staff will tell you it was booked by a third-party so they are not allowed to change the reservation. they also do not offer any kind of continental breakfast you have to purchase the meal at their in-house restaurant or go off site unless you're in the mood for the in-room coffee read more

FANTASTIC!!!!! Had the pleasure of staying here for 2 nights. The young lady at our check in was just the true southern hostess, I really can't say enough about her , professional and kind, Great job on hiring Marriott a true asset. Our room was beautiful and our friends had the adjoining room , so nice for morning coffee. Short drive to all the sights and across st from the beach. We have been traveling for 5 weeks and this hotel was by far the best,can't wait to return . Was extremely clean, beds are great beautiful furnishings.Pool area was amazing but little to chilly weather for pool. At night we played cards in the Bistro area that had nice comfy tables and television for Monday night football. Well as you can see we loved this Marriott did I mention it was new!! With so many choices, there are probably better options. We stayed here for 2 nights, 2 double bed rooms. One member of our party couldn't make it down until Sunday morning. They were driving separately. When we asked about an additional car pass we were told they were limited to 1 per room. IF YOU DON'T have a pass "parking lot patrol is in the parking lot with his clipboard calling the tow company. Saturday he was waiting for 8 vehicles to be towed. I do understand the reason for parking pass system, however there are instances where one room may have an extra vehicle. However, when we arrived there were two trucks towing a boat taking up 7 spaces each and a truck with a tool trailer. The middle aged dark haired woman at the front desk was unfriendly and when asked if there was a manager on duty she advised not until Tuesday. How is there not a manager available on a Holiday weekend?! Also want to add that the Elevator is down so now everyone has to use the same elevator. We asked about this and same "pleasant" woman advised there was another elevator and they were waiting to see if it would reset itself. I feel like they should have someone on shift that's capable of using common sense and initiative to at least attempt to solve an issue for a guest. Definitely will be rethinking Marriott for our future trips. read more

First of all, they could have done better, as an elite member, we have expectations. The carts to carry luggages are uber small!! if you're on a road trip & have a lot of luggage & stuff, you'll have to travel back & forth to get it all!! Room has a funny smell, definitely not the clean fresh room scent I have had in other Marriott hotels. Also very skimpy on towels & amenities in the room. This courtyard is -5 star in my standards!! They seem to have tapped out against Covid here. No complimentary breakfast due to Covid, but Scarbucks in the lobby was handling all the business for the usual Scarbucks prices. $18 for a breakfast sandwich, house coffee and small yogurt. The rooms are dated and the old-in room air conditioner is quite loud. Not enough blankets and no extra blanket to use. Was told at checkin that there would be no maid service, no heating of the pool . . . Just basically a big fat NO sign should be posted in the lobby. But it is packed in St Augustine, a beautiful little gem on the east coast near Jacksonville. I have been coming here for decades. I stopped in and checked out the new Embassy suites hotel that opened up in January. It is gorgeous and right on the beach. So much nicer and the pool is heated. Not sure how much that would cost, but probably worth it. Next time I would choose an air mattress on the floor at mumsie's over this hotel. read more
