    Entrance area to hotel

Hotel is located right off 95. We were only there for one night. The whole area is a construction zone and not easy to identify. Pros - good price. Clean rooms comfy beds Coms: Old facility - looks new from outside but it's not. Door to room hard to close. New room TV but need to enter a code and did not work. Lighting is very poor in lobby area - looks dark and dreary. Tip- turn on lights in breakfast room during the day to brighten the place up. Breakfast was nothing special - Tip Ruby Tuesday around the corner was good. They said construction has been going on 6 years!

Decided on a quick long Presidents Day last minute trip. Yes, spontaneous is my thing. Being last minute on a holiday weekend during snowbird season, my hotel options were extremely limited. Being a member of several hotel rewards memberships, I decided on this BW Plus, as shopping was also in the plans, and outlets are conveniently nearby. I had requested a quiet room, extra blanket and upon arrival discovered neither was provided. Near the Elevator room with old rusty and stained lamps. Only one toiletry item for three people, and no washcloths. Evening male staff was rude to another elderly lady looking for a room for her party and provided all of her discount options (AARP, BW, Military, etc), it was a substantial list. The clerks response, "you can take the room I have at $289 or leave it." I was told , "listen if you came earlier you might have gotten a different room." I booked several days ahead and made the request, wow. Back to the Plus designation, no, it's not. No hot tub, it's a smaller side pool, next to the pool, where you can sit in and it's not heated. Breakfast didn't have syrup, missing items normally at BW Breakfast bar. Internet was shoddy. Room was clean, but missing bed covers, stained sheets. I had to hunt down housekeeping for extras. Final straw was coming home from a day exploring to find our room door open. My PTSD was triggered and I was up all night waiting on someone to jump at us. Received a standard email with no name or phone number from a automated reply email. The two BW in St Augustine closer to the old city are much nicer and staff are amazing at the other two locations. So if you want to use BW Rewards chose the two BW without the Plus designation and save your money.

Average hotel. Good for a night or two max. Stayed here just for one. Bed was comfortable however I feel the water in the shower and sink was a little slimy. Not sure how to explain it but just felt greasy. Breakfast was alright.

You get what you pay for but this was just a horrible experience . We found old sour socks , blood on our sheets and a spoiled baby bottle. We felt so uncomfortable we couldn't even walk around without our shoes let alone sleep under the covers . My father booked this room for a last min holiday family trip . If i would've know it was here we would have stayed clear, we figured for two days it could not be that bad . But boy were we wrong !

After a recent stay at another Best Western I was reluctant to stay at any Best Western again. I took a chance and I'm do happy I did. To stay in town it was $70-120 higher than here. I usually stay in town but this hotel is only 15 min. away and you're right across the street from the outlets. It's the best of both worlds! It's only 2 floors and on the small side but for a place just to lay my head it was ideal. Everyone at the front desk we're professional and helpful. There was always someone there 24 hours and there was someone to assist with my suitcases. I received the exact room that I had reserved. The room itself was on the smaller side but certainly was sufficient. The linens and decor were modern with bright lines. It was absolutely spotless in every room! Bonus was a new electrical strip to charge your electronics. Housekeeping was available if you needed them and were helpful. The only thing missing was a fridge but for one night I could do without it. What a refreshing change of pace from the last Best Western I stayed at. Make sure you make reservations early as they may be full.

The rooms are nice and clean. Very surprised.

We got to our room and she opened the door with her phone. The room was clean and organized, and the bathroom was clean enough towels, and the hotel was decent. The only recommendation I could do for people that have their vehicles as to try to get to the hotel early since you could have a hard time finding a parking space if you arrive late. Other than that, the staff was great they had breakfast every morning. It was not all that, but it did the job. I use the gym and the gym was pretty clean and I have the machines to do the job. I would recommend and I would come again

Originally, I wanted to rate this hotel a lot lower due to our check-in issue, however, there were…read moresome things that made me change my mind. Let's start with the beginning. We arrived at 3am(ish) after an 11 hour drive from NC. We were eager to check-in and hit our heads on the pillow. We went to the doors and saw that they were locked. We pushed the call button numerous times. We were outside for maybe 5 minutes pressing the call button. Thank goodness someone was outside smoking and let us in with his key card. When we got to the desk, there was a sign saying that the receptionist was away attending to a guest and would be back. After 15 minutes of waiting, I realized that something wasn't right. I called the front desk, hoping that the receptionist would have a phone on them. It rang and rang. While calling, I paced around the lobby, looking for somebody. It had now been 20 minutes of trying to get a hold of someone. My husband contacted Hotels where we booked our stay while I went to the manager's office and saw that the door was propped open and the light was on. I called out "hello" a few times, no answer. 35 minutes later, the receptionist tiredly comes out from another door, who was clearly asleep in that room. She didn't say hello or greet us, didn't ask who we were, nothing. After she finally remembered her password to the computer, I told her we had a reservation to which she had told us that she cancelled our reservation and marked it as a no-show at 2am. If it weren't for Hotels saying that 6am was the late check-in time, we wouldn't have been able to get our room back. We go on so many roadtrips and this was the first time ever that a hotel cancelled because we were arriving late. She gave us our keycards, couldn't remember the breakfast times, and sent us on our way. No checking ID, nothing. Our room was overall clean and the bed was comfy. There were only three pillows and there was a big stain on the carpet, otherwise, everything else was great! We loved that there was a microwave, dishwasher, sink, coffee maker, and a full size fridge and freezer in the room. It had everything we needed if we were staying for a long time: utensils, paper towels, dish soap and a sponge, plates and bowls, cooking tools, and cups. The bathroom was fully stocked with shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hand soap, lotion, face wash, and makeup removing wipes. A big thing that I loved was that the AC went down to 68 degrees when most hotels lock the AC at 72, so this was a nice touch. Parking is okay, it is safe, but there are utility trucks and campers that park here which take up spots. There are also a few parking spots for electric vehicles to charge. We didn't have breakfast during our two day stay but I did appreciate that there was always tea and hot chocolate packets out in the lobby for visitors. If you're bringing a dog, there are plenty of grassy areas to take your dog out. The staff here are very unwelcoming. Not a single staff member, including the manager training two employees at the desk, looked at us, smiled, or said a single word to us. We were completely ignored the entire trip. Not even eye contact. Checkout was easy and this is where my rating became higher. The receptionist that tiredly checked us in after her nap was the same person to check us out. Normally, I say something out of honesty but due to so much negligence from this place, I decided to keep my mouth shut. She did not charge us the $75 pet fee when we left. For the time and stress spent waiting to be checked in, I thought this was well deserved. I will never ever stay here again.

Although the hotel was about 20 minutes from downtown, the reasonable price during a busy holiday weekend made it a good choice. We checked in at 3:00 PM, but there was a slight delay, and we had to wait around 30 minutes to get the keys to our room. Our room had two double-sized king beds, which were comfortable and spacious enough for our family of three to share one bed easily. The only issue we faced during our stay was with the air conditioner. We set it to automatic, but it was either too cold or too warm, making it difficult to maintain a consistent temperature in the room. On the positive side, the breakfast provided by the hotel was included in our stay and was delicious. It was convenient to have a good breakfast without needing to spend extra money. Overall, our stay at Holiday Inn Express & Suites was comfortable, and we didn't encounter any major problems.

We held our breath however, because our first room was 206 and they moved us to 306, so we wondered if we would have the same issue. The second room initially seemed fine, so we unpacked our things and went out to enjoy the "Nights of Lights." We also had stopped at a German bakery along the way and had $30 of pastries in a box that we placed on a high shelf, just in case. On returning to our room about 10:30pm, we noticed ants again, everywhere, on the bedside table, the bathroom sink, bathroom wall, and kitchenette counter. I went to the front desk again, but they informed us there was nothing they could do as they were fully booked for the night. We felt like we were stuck for the night, so went back to the room and sat down to eat a pastry only to discover the box was crawling with ants! We packed up our things and went back downstairs and informed the desk it was worse than we realized and we were leaving. Since we booked through a third party, they informed us we had to contact the third party to request a refund. We made the three hour drive home at midnight. The next morning we contacted the third party, who then reached out to the hotel directly to get approval for the refund. The agent came back and said the hotel was only willing to refund us for two nights, not three! I asked to escalate the issue with a supervisor and explained that we should not be charged for a room we did not spend the night in. She called the hotel again and said the hotel was firm about only refunding us for two nights. Thankfully the third party agreed to refund us the other night, which they certainly did not have to do. It appears this is an ongoing problem, because I have now seen another review with complaints of ants and the hotel being unwilling to refund them as well. So not only is there an ant infestation, but there is also a lack of basic customer service from management. DO NOT stay at this hotel ever!

Staying in St. Augustine we could have chosen to stay in the historic district or at a bed and breakfast place, but after having lived near the city we decided not to deal with the traffic and high volume of people so we chose this location. Checking in was easy, location quiet and we were able to get to a comfortable room. After a great night's sleep we headed down to breakfast - fresh cinnamon muffins, scrambled eggs, bacon and sausage in hot plates. There was also some oatmeal with various toppings, and if you wanted a fresh waffle it could be made right there. We saw a youngster enjoying his morning cereal and milk, and we chatted with another couple who were also traveling home. Consistent good food with a good room is the Fairfield brand, and this location doesn't disappoint. The only improvement would be more lighting on the building.

I can't say I felt totally safe in the room with this in mind but it really is a motel feel. When I entered the room it looked very clean and inviting.
