Unfortunately the balcony rooms on the Bayfront were unavailable, so we booked a corner balcony room overlooking the historic district buildings and iconic streets filled with boutique stores. We were on the second floor overlooking Charlotte Street/Treasury Street. We could hear the live music from the Saints restaurant next door at night. Very little car noise at night. Public street parking maybe hard to find during busy times such as July 4th weekend and the lots were slightly expensive. Luckily most restaurant and local attractions were walkable so we left our car in the hotels, where the valet was also expensive but convenient. You can also buy a ticket to the Hop off and Hop on trolley right at the Hilton front desk, which takes you to the different tourist attractions that was slightly farther away. For July 4th, the hotel had a BBQ in front of the hotel. It was nicely done. The staff went above and beyond to make the event enjoyable for the guests. Tents were set up for outdoor seating, to eat grilled food, drink and listen to music. At night, you can see the fireworks right outside the hotel. Highly recommend and would definitely come back to this hotel when we visit St. Augustine again.

But it's a great location and property. It's wonderfully decorated during the holidays, too. But listen, it's an awkward layout (like much of St Augustine) and now that I travel with an elderly parent, I tend to notice these things. There are ADA rooms but this property consists of different buildings, walk ways, elevators, and hallways. Be prepared and call the hotel for information. They are great. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. We usually stay at Casa Monica, but they need to update the rooms there and we are so happy with this property now.

The room was nice and spacious, with odd closets, but they worked for the time we were spending there. They also had robes if we needed to be bougie and prance around. We slept well and had a nice view of the square between the Lightner Mansion and Flagler College. The staff at the front desk were very friendly and accommodating. They gave good recommendations on how to get around Saint Augustine, which had been a minute for me, so it was good to get a refresher. Sparkling wine at the front desk when we checked in was excellent and helped us unwind after the drive from South Florida. They have a gym and pool that I believe is accessible through the second floor, so I will have to remember that for our return trip. Also, they have a Starbucks on the lobby floor, which was great to get our morning pick-me-up. The bar and restaurant were very stylish, lots of Spanish influence from the 15th and 16th centuries. The cocktails were also solid. I didn't care for the water pressure and temperature, as they were difficult to adjust and ensure we were getting the correct settings. It was pretty scalding hot, so it took a couple of minutes to get it right, and then I kept it on the setting for my wife since I didn't want her struggling to mess with it. Apart from that, the experience was great. We enjoyed the sparkling wine and the accommodations when we checked in. The valet was good to have, as I didn't want to mess with street parking, but it is more expensive; take note.

The room came with a big TV, a very cozy bed, and a bigger-than-usual mini fridge, which was AMAZINGGG because we had made a pit stop at Buc-ee's for birthday treats and fun... I am obsessed with IHG's bathroom products. Their shampoo is incredible. And the room was pretty quiet- we didn't hear our neighbors. The bar area looked really tempting. We heard the breakfast there is realllllly good- unfortunately, we didn't have time to hang out at the bar or have breakfast. We did pop into the littleee convenience/shop area for a pint of ice cream which hit the spot after coming home from dinner. There is free covered parking below the hotel (and more parking available outside), which is super convenient. The gym looked nice. I love that they had laundry machines. The room, on the other hand, was dated and had an odor but we let the staff know and we were switched out immediately to another. The location was great - we walked into town, over the Bridge and explored all night. We came back over the bridge to dine later on but as long as you have good walking shoes on, you're good to go!

The St. George Inn is a lovely place, however, there are a few things that sure would make it…read morebetter. 1. The shower doesn't drain properly and water backs up around your feet. Yuck. 2. The bath towels and sheets were obviously washed in a very fragrant detergent. Some folks, myself included, are allergic to fragranced linens. 3. The blinds at the entrance door do not close tightly and leave a pretty good sized gap between each blind. With the bathroom sink close to the door, I felt very uncomfortable. 4. There is a light beside the "back porch" door and no way to cut it off for sleeping at night. 5. Lastly, there is a man that sits downstairs and smokes cigars all day long. His smoke is so strong and consumes the air to the point that sitting on the "front porch" is not a viable option. Such a shame because it would be a nice place to sit and watch folks and listen to the local music. And before anyone asks, no I did not contact the office about the tub, blinds, or the porch light because who wants maintenance in and out of your room while on vacation.
