First the good, I've been to several Hampton Inns as a Hilton Honors member and I can say they are comfortable and quiet. This one was in a great location, close enough to walk to the attractions we wanted to see but far enough to keep away from the crowds and noise. It was pricey (Holiday season). It was clean and modern. The staff was pleasant. What I didn't like was the $20 per day parking. Other locations don't have that. They give you parking passes so I don't understand the need to charge for parking in a place with many spots. Also the breakfast wasn't good. The bacon was paper thin like bacon flavor paper...literally. The potatoes were nasty. We decided to go eat elsewhere the 2nd day. I would still recommend the place. The bed and pillows were super comfy. The breakfast and coffee sucked but otherwise it was fine. I don't regret my stay. read more

It's about a mile walk to the touristy areas. The hotel lobby was under construction. The free breakfast consistent of a grab and go bag, that had a bottle water, muffin, pastry, juice, and an orange. The beds were SUPER creaky. When shifting from one side to the other you would definitely activate the springs in the mattress. They charge $18 for parking, which is such a rip off for the area. Might have been the most unhelpful people I've ever come across. Coming into town for a wedding, booked an AirBNB for the first night, which turned out to be my worst AirBNB experience of all time but that's for another day. Normal check in is at 3, I called in to ask about either getting into the room early as I got a last minute request to attend some work meetings via teams. Long story short, reservation was in my aunts name and they said she would have to check in before they could do anything. So ended up having to rent an office for the day at 150.00 bucks, which leads to me an amazing save the day review I'll write tomorrow for the staff at Share Space in St. Augustine, who texted me back at 9:32pm to help me get space and arrangements. It wasn't about the money it's expensive and pretty inconvenient because it's 30 minutes out of my way for the rehearsal dinner. The staff person I talked to at HI was cold, couldn't care less about the guests needs or even empathize with my situation. Frankly, I would have fired them if they worked for me. Two things that will kill your business quicker than anything, bad quality, and bad service. I would have gladly rented another room from them for the day and paid the price. This Holiday Inn has a great location. It is within walking distance to St Augustine Historical District. Prices are not bad compared to other hotels in the area. The room is spacious and clean. It comes equipped with a small fridge, TV, microwave, coffee maker, and I can't remember what else. There is a gym and a pool. I didn't use any of these. There's no complimentary breakfast. You must purchase it at the cafe located in the lobby. There is also happy hour 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. every day. 3 stars. I would stay again. read more

Are you kidding me???? For $300. Check the photos. The place is all hard surfaces , easy to clean i Guess. Totally unappealing. No decor at all. Desk no light no pen no paper, no St. Augustine magazine, nothing. No carpet. The safe is on the floor. The wall ac heat control on the wall does not operate the ac and heat. The controls are on the window unit. He ac is so loud to watch tv you must raise the volume. The furniture is Laminate like a plastic. There is only 1 of 2 mirror closet doors and it was off the tracks. The front desk help was challenging, they checked us in, so we thought and gave us our parking pass. The room was not ready, we were early, finally the person found us sitting in the lounge and asked for our reservation to produce a key. She left and never returned. Went to the desk waited in line again and then was told , sorry I forgot and that our card did not work. Why come and find us only to drop the ball. Produced a new card and finally got keys. The hotel was clean. The staff were friendly. The room was relatively nice. However, there were a few issues with this hotel. First, the shower/bath feature of the bath tub was stuck in the "shower" position so we couldn't take a bath. This is an easy fix and should have been spotted prior to our check in. Second, there were no coffee cups in the room. Coffee? Yes. Coffee cups? No. So we didn't have coffee. Third, due to Covid-19, the hotel restaurant was closed. That in itself wasn't a problem. However, the restaurant was also closed for breakfast. To make up for this inconvenience, the hotel was selling, yes, selling, $3 take home breakfast bags with an apple and granola bar. This was tacky. The hotel was already saving money by not preparing a hot breakfast due to the restaurant closure. Why charge $3 for a couple of bucks worth of fruit? This is the kind of business decision that was made thoughtlessly. Just give your customers a free apple and granola bar for breakfast. read more

My husband and I stayed here for an evening while visiting St. Augustine. It is centrally located in the historic district and easy to get in and out of. It is about a 30 minute walk to the attractions but all of 5-10 minutes if driving. Check in is at 3pm and Check out is at 11am. We arrived around 11am and I was immediately disappointed with our experience. At the desk we weren't really greeted by the gentleman as much as we were grunted at. I explained we were there to check in and he told me check in was at 3pm, we could park at the hotel and walk around. He never offered an early check-in, didn't look up our reservation information or ask to hold our bags. He really behaved that we were interrupting him. We came back at 7pm and were greeted by Aurora who was smiling, kind and even tried to upgrade us since it was our anniversary. They were completely booked so we were placed in a room with two queen beds. The room was clean, smelt good and seemed to have been recently upgraded. The alarm clock also served as a docking station charger and there were reading lights attached to both sides of the bed. There were also small amenities scattered throughout like antiseptic wipes for the telephone and remote. The hotel was quiet throughout the night and check out was easy with the bill being emailed to me. Despite the rude initial reception, I would return. read more

I do love Holiday Inns.. I've come to expect nice staff, a clean room, and a nice, comfortable bed. Our room was clean.. but that's just 1 of 3 key ingredients. Clean room is great though; it looked nice and fresh, and spotless. The staff here is mediocre. They don't give IHG members water at checkin (the little things do count, you know). They don't smile.. and they're not always at the front desk.. someone should always be there so people aren't waiting around forming a line. The worst part? The sheets.. soo bad. Scratchy as hell. Seriously, I woke up several times in the night just because of those darned awful sheets. Those are not normal Holiday Inn sheets.. they can't be. They're tone-on-tone white striped, with 1 green stitch across the top.. and they feel like sandpaper. I didn't take a photo of the bathroom.. It seemed mid-renovation. Pretty ugly - Mismatched.. I'm assuming that will be fixed soon because everything else was clearly newly renovated, looks fresh, pretty, and clean. read more

Somewhat mixed review on this one. First, the staff is very friendly and the hotel is comfortable. The rooms are small and what was described as a suite was not as expected. The staff immediately accommodated our need for an additional room, and it was comfortable. Breakfast had potential but turned out as kind of a hot mess. It started with a member of our party ordering hot tea, and receiving cold water in a mug and went downhill from there. The restaurant staff seemed overwhelmed. I start by throwing a shout out to Natoya, at the Front Desk. This being the lodging that MANY of our wedding guests stayed in, checking us all in earlier than the usual check-in time, was not easy, and she made it happen, and she did so with humor, patience, and a can-do attitude. Natoya also made it possible for the bride and groom, (our son and daughter-in-law) to receive a bottle of champagne. Thank you! For the price, proximity to the Historic District as a 12 minute walk, 15 minutes to the wedding venue at the Lightner Museum, a bit further to the lighthouse, etc. Rooms are large and well-appointed (and, in the midst of the Coronovirus scare/pandemic, anti-bacterial wipes were thoughtfully supplied in each room) with the only issues being that everyone complained about the room vault being situated so close to the floor that you have to get down on your knees to access it, and the A/C being difficult to control...one degree one way and it was freezing, one degree the other way and the heat kicked on. Our only other issue was that all the proteins at breakfast were for those who eat pork products, which we do not. The chef told us that buying turkey sausage was too expensive, with not enough people choosing to eat it. Otherwise, the breakfast was of the pre-cooked variety (eg, canned fruit), and filling. There is a decent happy hour in the afternoons @ the onsite restaurant, Barnacle Bill's, the pool is unheated (too bad for us!) but a good size with plenty of chairs around it. I would happily stay here again, as long as Natoya and her great sense of humor and congeniality is there! read more

We booked this hotel several months ahead of time to attend my school reunion. We obtained a great rate for our room. We were promised that if a King Room opened up we would be able to change our reservation. When we finally arrived at the hotel, there was a line for check-in. She said there was no indication on our reservation that we requested s king size room. She didn't even attempt to change our reservation. We know for a fact that several in our group cancelled their King Rooms and were disappointed that they had not switched our reservation. We were offered no assistance with our luggage and no valet was available. When we arrived at our room, we found it very clean and ready for us. There were adequate towels and amenities in the bathroom. I brought my own shower cap and makeup pads and was glad I did. The walls were paper thin and all talking in the hallway was easily heard. For a three star hotel it wasn't bad. We would highly recommend it if this is the level of accommodation you are seeking. read more

2 nights of staying here. We have had 2 breakfast here and everyday they have been out of everything. The food was barely edible the best breakfast items were Frosted Flakes and home fries. When we checked in the last thing they mentioned was there is an $18 parking fee. We could have stayed in a nicer hotel for less than here. The place is somewhat clean but the toilet doesn't flush and the keys didn't work after checking in it took 3 times for them to get it right. Came for The Night of Lights during Christmas season. We were able to check in early (11:00am on a Saturday) which is always a plus. Front desk staff was pleasant and efficient. Our standard room was clean, it's an older hotel, but the room was updated. The bathroom was also clean and updated. It didn't have a strong old hotel smell, but it is an older hotel. I see reviews saying the hotel isn't close to the "happening spots" , I disagree. My wife and I do casual walks on a semi- regular basis and you start to see restaurants with beautiful outdoor seating about 0.2 miles away along Marco Ave. The traffic can be bad, and I mean very bad during The Night of Lights. Find a nice hotel and walk. Hotel prices jump on Friday and Saturday. If you can visit Sunday- Thursday, do it. read more

This Holiday Inn is in a great location, in close proximity to the heart of St. Augustine and that is the biggest thing it has going for it. Service was friendly, there was sufficient parking, and the room seemed clean, though there was this smell that reminded me of feet. My friend agreed with that assessment. Though the air conditioning worked, the air was stuffy. Other than that, I am not picky about hotels: as long as there are no roaches, bed bugs, or stains on the sheets, I am happy. My friend mistakenly booked a second night at another Holiday Inn location and when we wanted to change that and stay here a second night, we found out that it was fully booked as it is in high demand, so make sure to make your reservations on time (and for the correct location!). The historic scenes on the curtains were a nice touch, but pay no attention to Angelina M's pictures, which are inaccurate. This hotel looks nothing like that on the outside, nor is it on the beach. Don't be fooled by the name - it's not exactly walking distance for most of the St. Augustine tourist crowd on a hot and humid day - it's over a mile away from most of the tourist activities in the Historic District. Room was pretty standard but the TV was huge which was great. The beds were comfortable and air conditioning worked well. Shower felt dated and small - and was hard to adjust the temperature beyond scalding hot or no hot water at all. Pool was clean and despite being only open till dusk according to their signs, no one seemed to obey or enforce that rule, so have at it! read more

Hello, we just checked in after driving over 12 hrs. When we go to the room we opened the sofa bed there was no linen or pillows for the sofabed as we're a party of 6. After calling the front desk over 15 minutes with no response, finally someone picked up the phone. The front desk person was very rude, and told me if I wanted linen and pillows I had to go my self and get them from the front desk. With that said we had to go downstairs again, and get our own linen cause there was nobody available to bring them up. This is unacceptable, specially for a Holiday Inn and for a room that I paid over $220 for one night. Horrible customer service, I would never come back. The property was fine, no complaints. Staffing however, was far from friendly. Stayed 6/24 and 6/25. Checked in around 3:00. Person at front desk was expressionless, and could answer very few questions. It seemed like she knew the answers but wanted me to beg for the answers. Several times we tried to engage with a question or request only to find her with total lack of concern or accommodation. AM person the next morning had the same attitude. We called to ask when coffee would be available downstairs and the reply was I don't know. Well, what time does the restaurant open, reply, it opens at 7:00 but they are running late. We went down a little after 7:00 to try and get a small carton of milk and they still were not open, the front desk person yelled across the entrance that they were late. It's really about the attitude of angry versus kind. I know it's very hard to get good people these days but these folks were unhappy in their job so maybe you should consider replacing them. read more

This is our 5th stay at this hotel, and definitely the worst and last stay! We always liked this hotel because it demonstrated a classy, urbane, updated feel with a sleek lobby and restaurant/bar area, and nice, bright rooms. Now they have changed the restaurant/bar from their own brand to a Barnacle Bill's Seafood restaurant- something barely a step above a Long John Silver! And now the second you step into the lobby you are assailed with a powerful fish smell! The housekeeping services are non-existent- we had no servicing of our room at all over 2 days so I had to go to the desk to get towels; the assistant manager was at the desk and her only response was that housekeeping was a little behind! The bathtub had a rickety faucet that prevented operation of the water flow - had to have maintenance fix that. We will not be back - there are too many other excellent, well-maintained options in the area! read more

Facility and location excellent. However, one dinning room staff member and one front desk member need to work one their people skills. If you are having a not so great day dont bring it to work where your performance is affected and the customer is on the receiving end of your not so great day, it affects the rest of your team when good service is in competition with other establishments that have a similar product. Rooms are good, however, your mattresses are in need of an upgrade... the wear and tear can be felt. Very important, the elevator needs repair. It does not stay open and it automatically closes its doors and if someone has a hand or leg not entirely in it will get caught by the closing doors. I have great concern for the elderly and children who are incapable of an immediate response to save themselves from harm. read more

I'll going to see the nights of light in St. Augustine, as far as occasion, it's just a few blocks walk away from everything that is going on I was put into room 309 of which the AC would turn on for 2 minutes and turn off. We were not switched to another room nor did they come and repair our AC. We were woken at 7:30 in the morning with construction crews pulling out carpet beds, desks out of all of the rooms around us as they continue to try to replace the carpet and put vinyl flooring down It was extremely loud upon checkout I asked why would they put us in a room on a floor with construction we could not even exit the elevators we had to go to the back of the hotel. Go down, walk back up to the front just to check out. They were extremely unhelpful and just apologize for the inconvenience. I asked why didn't anybody come and fix her AC last night and The lady said I thought somebody went up there and I said no The only thing this hotel is offered me was not to make me pay for parking. I've even spoke to their manager who runs the whole hotel other than short of calling me a liar about the AC and sorry about the construction. They will do nothing for you. The hotel could be a nice place staff and especially the manager would maybe put customers needs first I would never stay there again even if you offer to me for free The like I respect and I received from this manager telling me other people have not had problem in that room. I told her to go and sit in the room for the night and get up and turn the AC on all night long since it only would work for 2 minutes at a time. She told me she would call me back. I am a Wedding Planner with a boutique style-planning firm. Our client's wedding at the Treasury on the Plaza brought me to St. Augustine. Upon my arrival at our hotel, I was feeling a little uneasy, as the pictures are not always true. Let's just say, the pictures of this hotel does it no justice. I love the modern feel, the ultra clean rooms and the restaurant in the lobby. I love the location, as it was less than 10 mins from our client's venue. Our bathtub took forever and a year to drain while I was using the shower. I called the front desk and they had a maintenance technician come to solve the problem. The problem was fixed the first time and right away. The staff always greeted me with a smile. I will definitely be back as we plan on doing more weddings and events in St. Augustine. read more

The door handle/lock to our room didn't work and had to be worked on. (It still didn't work very well.) The breakfast buffet was awful. This seems to be a running theme in my hotel reviews lately: Cheap, clean and convenient. There is a lot to be said with those three C's though when you are trying to save a bit of cash, but still want a decent place to crash. Looks like this location is doing a bit of renovation, and it was looking pretty good! Even better, there were no loud noises or construction happening while we were there. Which, is was a super short stay, as we were only there for a quick sleep. We were down in St. Aug for the night, for some dinner and drinks, and wanted to be responsible adults, so we booked the room and hailed a cab. As I mentioned, room was clean, bed was comfy and I was a little surprised to see Bath and Body works travel size products in the bathroom. (No weird off brand stuff that leaves your hair feeling like straw!) Yay. I think this room was about $60 a night and is fairly close to downtown. If you are a tourist looking for more of a beachy stay... this won't be your spot, but probably about a 20 min drive to the beaches. But downtown is super cool, and only a few minutes away. (I wouldn't recommend walking though.) read more

Good, solid hotel in town, located in the historic district, within walking distance to down town. Arrived in the evening, check in was smooth and attendant was pleasant. Room was clean and well-stocked. Had an issue with the toilet though (water pressure was non-existent), so had to change rooms, which they accommodated. Restaurant was average. Food was ok, but service was poor. I think they only had two people running the entire thing. Not their fault, the one waitress was pleasant, but management needs to step it up and hire some more staff asap. Only other issue was having to pay for parking. The first time I stayed here, 2022, I did not have to pay, now you do. They claimed it's because it is at a premium in the city, but I didn't really buy it. It's not so close to dt that they could have people illegally parking there. Would probably stay here again, watching that parking fee though. read more

I checked in tonight, July 20th 2019 at 12:40am. I was having an issue with my booking with Hotwire. I was speaking to Reymona about the situation, where I was supposed to have a room with two beds, instead we received a room with a king bed. I have three children. Reymona told me I would have to call Hotwire directly. Although, I called and was on hold for 20 minutes with Hotwire, while standing in front of Reymona, while she answered their call, she told me, then, that there were no more rooms available...?! I stood there calling and telling her my concern, and she waited that long to tell me that there were no more rooms available?! I am very disappointed. I suggest better customer service and more common sense. read more
