County Tree Service was referred to me by a neighbor after I relocated to Oak Park. I needed multiple trees trimmed quickly to satisfy homeowner insurance. I reached Brian who came onsite the day I called for an estimate. He was courteous and helpful. They had a crew at my house the next day and successful completed the project. I would highly recommend using this family run business. read more

Great job, quick to respond, good price - it's just the way it should be. No running around scheduling and dragging it on for weeks. Got a tree removed from my backyard with a tight space. They got here 2 days after initial contact with them. Job was done in 1 hour. These are your guys. read more

I am so happy that I chose County Tree Service. I had requested an estimate from another company and didn't want the hassle of getting multiple estimates even though it's a good idea to get more than one estimate, of course. I thought I was only asking for one estimate on Yelp but I must have checked a box or something requesting many estimates because I received several dozen inquiries. Then a man from County Tree Service texted me saying he could be over within the hour to give me an estimate to cut down a very large tree that was threatening my house, garage, shop, and vehicles. His estimate seemed very reasonable but the tree service I had originally contacted was to come out the next day to give their estimate, which turned out to be much higher than County Tree Services estimate. In fact, County's estimate was so much lower that I hoped there wasn't going to be some type of a catch. Well, there wasn't a catch. County's crew came out today and did an incredible job. Everyone on the crew was very professional and highly skilled. It was fascinating to see them work. A couple hours later, the tree was gone except for the huge trunk logs that couldn't fit in the chipper. The crew went above and beyond to clean up any sign that they were here. I was tempted to go out and tell them that they didn't have to be so thorough in the cleanup because, for example, mowing the lawn would take care of most of it but the noise of the equipment was so loud that they probably wouldn't be able to hear me if I tried to talk to them. When they were done, someone wouldn't be able to tell that a tree had been cut down - a huge tree, in fact. The only thing left was the huge logs from the main trunk which they temporarily left in my front yard. Some of them must have weighed several tons. Then, about an hour later I heard another big truck back into my driveway with a different type of crane and, within minutes, there was virtually no sign of all the work that had been done. I highly recommend County Tree Service and I couldn't be more happy with their work. I've had other trees removed in the past that were smaller and much easier it remove and I was charged more than what County Tree Service charged me for removing the huge tree and County Tree Services clean-up was much better than the other tree services I used in the past. I am so happy with their work and their price. Tom Johnston read more

I saw these guys as I was passing a house in traffic. I stopped and got their number. Brian asked if I wanted an estimate. I said yes and gave him the address. Within 15 minutes he was at my mom's house assessing the tree for a quote. I accepted the quote and his guys were at my mom's house promptly at 8am the next morning. They did an AMAZING job!!! So careful, so professional, so courteous and they left the yard spotless!!! The job required our fence to be cut and they even reconnected it to not leave an open gap! I recommend them to the fullest and I'll be using their services again!!! read more

This company is awesome. We called them for a quote and they showed up within 1/2 hour and the next morning showed up to remove a huge Maple tree. They got it done, hauled away the wood, removed the stump and even hosed down my drive when they were done. They had previously cut down 2 other trees and both times they did an excellent job. I would highly recommend if you are considering tree removal that you call them. You will not regret it!! read more

It was a pleasure working with this company. We needed them to cut down two trees. Quote came in quickly and was reasonable. I confirmed with them immediately and they came next day. They take credit cards, which is helpful. His team of guys was great too! Very polite and kind. I wish more businesses are like this. read more

Talk about quick and efficient service! I sent a yelp request for an estimate on a stump removal on a Saturday morning, around 10:30. By 12:30, the stump i wanted removed was gone. I had DIRECT interaction with this company, and am sharing my experience with the crew and foreman of this company. My neighbor hired this company to cut several large branches off on a completely diseased Elm Tree on their property. They felt it was acceptable to drop these a large limbs onto the top of our garage. They dropped many other smaller branches all over our yard and onto our garage. Instead of knocking on our door and getting permission to clean up the mess they made, they climbed over the neighbors fence, trespassed into our secure backyard, climbed onto our garage and used their chain saw on-top of our garage to cut up the limb. My security camera alerted me of the trespassers and the police came out. They left us with a damaged garage roof that was newly installed in May. They dented our gutters with their ladders as well. They worked directly over a live ComEd power line, and dropped a large branch directly onto the live line. They are are completely unprofessional and unsafe. None of the crew was wearing hard hats. Some of the crew thought it was acceptable to take turns bouncing on the trampoline while this all was occurring. read more

Brian responded to my message requesting a quote within minutes. Came out to assess in person the next morning and the project was completed within a week. No one else we came across had the man power, equipment and experience this company has. The crew removed a huge (sick) mature maple tree from our fenced backyard while we were at work and left no sign they were ever there except the mulch from where the tree once stood. I would definitely recommend County Tree Service - affordable and efficient! read more

Worked with Brian in the past to remove a dead tree in my backyard and everything went well so I decided to use his services again when I needed to remove two stumps in my backyard. Brian came out and gave a estimate and proceeded to finish the work. The issue is he chopped up all the logs and stumps but LEFT ALL THE WOODCHIPS BEHIND!!! I called him to inform him that his crew left the chips behind and continued to lie to me and tell me that someone was coming out. Well it's been almost 3 weeks and nothing. Don't appreciate being lied to about services that a company provides especially if it's stated on the invoice!!! May 3rd Update Just providing a quick update, Brian sent someone out this evening to correct the issue. Appreciate the quick response to addressing my initial complaint. read more

I would hire this company over and over again to take care of trees that need to be removed or trimmed. They were super knowledgeable, answered all of my questions, and came to my home to look at the trees the same day I reached out. When the day to trim 5 large trees came, they came with a crew, walked around with me to confirm exactly what I wanted, and did periodic check ins to ask if I liked the progress along the way to ensure we were on the same page. They also cleaned up very well, and even helped do a last minute trim of a tree my neighbor requested while they were packing up. The team was 10/10! They were also super affordable. Hire this team! I had a million companies come out to provide quotes and this company gave the best service and came in as one of the lower quotes. read more

Edit: day this was posted, sales rep called me and he and a couple folks came out that day to correct the issue. At the end of the day, I do recommend this company. They are willing to work with your price range and your concerns. Original post: Sales guy was VERY knowledgeable about trees and impressed me with details of what would be done and gave me a fair price. Overall, the work they did was fine and they cleaned up the site nicely, I just I don't believe the workers did "exactly" what I was told would be done, which I'll get to later in this review. First, I want to mention was that I was kind of off put that I looked out the window and the workers were in my neighbor's yard cutting their trees instead of focusing on my project. Is it normal to get other sales while ON a job? I feel like my project could have been done faster if the workers I hired were focused on the task at hand. Back to the project - I had 2 buckthorns in the backyard that I was told the roots would be grinded out. They just cut them at the stump. They said if we grind it, it can damage the roots of the trees so they "recommend" not to. Then why did the sales guy and all the other sales people from the other companies I had quote me say they would grind out the roots? After they left I noticed they didn't even cut the stumps low to the ground (pics below). 4 more buckthorns by the garage were supposed to be grinded out and a mulberry bush by the shed was supposed to be dug out. The buckthorns were just dug out .. they said the grinder they brought was too big and the smaller one is broken and they ordered a new part last week. If the tool they needed was broken, why did they schedule to come on this particular day? The mulberry bush was just cut and they said they can't dig out the stump because it's too close to the water lines (again, then why was it sold to me that the stump/roots would be dug? And why did the other companies say they'd dig it out...). I could have called the sales guy to ask questions, but wanted to avoid any uncomfortable situations so just left it as is. read more

Brian stopped by to give us a quote a few hours after request made. Price was very reasonable. His people showed up on time and in full force a week later and finished cutting/clearing a very large fallen maple in less than two hours. They hand raked and cleaned the back yard as well as the path taken to haul limbs to the street with a mini tractor. Unexpected but appreciated, especially when it was time to cut the lawn. Very good service and very good work. read more

Fast quote, more than fair and got it done quick and cleaned everything up. Would definitely recommend and use them again in the future.

Fast response, came out quickly and took care of a tree that was right above my power line and stressing me out!

They come right away, work for dirt, cheap, and do an excellent job. Cannot recommend more highly.

Greg visited my home within days to give me a quote. He showed me how I could save the birch tree by simply trimming and shaping rather than chopping it down. I could tell he was passionate about the quality of his work and knowledgeable about trees. He showed me what he was going to trim, then executed beautifully. Additionally, he trimmed my Japanese maple which now looks great and ready for the winter and upcoming spring. Everything was cleaned up and hauled away. I'll hire them again for my next trimming and shaping. read more

Prompt, efficient, and the best value. A wonderful experience. Yelp review was accurate in recommending this company.

If you enjoy being told repeatedly by a business they will contact you soon, but never do, then this is the place for you. I called them and was told they would call me back in 3-5 days. They never called. Then I called them back 2 weeks later and was told to text them, which I did twice. They never responded to that either. read more

I decided to call County Tree based upon the other Yelp reviews and I have to say that I wholeheartedly agree with the positive things that others have said. Brian was quick to respond to my call and arrive on site to give a quote. Once we agreed on the price and approximate timetable (weather depending), they were able to do the job sooner than I expected. Once the crew arrived, they were all polite, very professional, and quickly got it done well ahead of expectations. The clean-up was also handled thoroughly and well. I only wish all my home service calls were handled as professionally as County Tree Service. I'd recommend them without hesitation. read more
