Why am I giving a five star rating? -The only company that made an appointment to speak with me in person. The scope of the job was verified. Others quoted a similar price without everything I needed included. -The crew was careful not to damage the structure directly under a massive tree using only ropes. The star of the show is the climber. He was very efficient and quickly took down an elm, gave a major slim down surgery to a large maple, and gave a quick trim to a third sloppy tree. -When I opted to have an old stump as well as the new one grinder, the machine showed up right on time to knock that part of the job out. I am so happy that I chose County Tree Service. I had requested an estimate from another company and didn't want the hassle of getting multiple estimates even though it's a good idea to get more than one estimate, of course. I thought I was only asking for one estimate on Yelp but I must have checked a box or something requesting many estimates because I received several dozen inquiries. Then a man from County Tree Service texted me saying he could be over within the hour to give me an estimate to cut down a very large tree that was threatening my house, garage, shop, and vehicles. His estimate seemed very reasonable but the tree service I had originally contacted was to come out the next day to give their estimate, which turned out to be much higher than County Tree Services estimate. In fact, County's estimate was so much lower that I hoped there wasn't going to be some type of a catch. Well, there wasn't a catch. County's crew came out today and did an incredible job. Everyone on the crew was very professional and highly skilled. It was fascinating to see them work. A couple hours later, the tree was gone except for the huge trunk logs that couldn't fit in the chipper. The crew went above and beyond to clean up any sign that they were here. I was tempted to go out and tell them that they didn't have to be so thorough in the cleanup because, for example, mowing the lawn would take care of most of it but the noise of the equipment was so loud that they probably wouldn't be able to hear me if I tried to talk to them. When they were done, someone wouldn't be able to tell that a tree had been cut down - a huge tree, in fact. The only thing left was the huge logs from the main trunk which they temporarily left in my front yard. Some of them must have weighed several tons. Then, about an hour later I heard another big truck back into my driveway with a different type of crane and, within minutes, there was virtually no sign of all the work that had been done. I highly recommend County Tree Service and I couldn't be more happy with their work. I've had other trees removed in the past that were smaller and much easier it remove and I was charged more than what County Tree Service charged me for removing the huge tree and County Tree Services clean-up was much better than the other tree services I used in the past. I had DIRECT interaction with this company, and am sharing my experience with the crew and foreman of this company. My neighbor hired this company to cut several large branches off on a completely diseased Elm Tree on their property. They felt it was acceptable to drop these a large limbs onto the top of our garage. They dropped many other smaller branches all over our yard and onto our garage. Instead of knocking on our door and getting permission to clean up the mess they made, they climbed over the neighbors fence, trespassed into our secure backyard, climbed onto our garage and used their chain saw on-top of our garage to cut up the limb. My security camera alerted me of the trespassers and the police came out. They left us with a damaged garage roof that was newly installed in May. They dented our gutters with their ladders as well. They worked directly over a live ComEd power line, and dropped a large branch directly onto the live line. They are are completely unprofessional and unsafe. None of the crew was wearing hard hats. Some of the crew thought it was acceptable to take turns bouncing on the trampoline while this all was occurring. read more
