Beef surrounded by dried congealed blood

Went to Country's BBQ on Broadway. I ordered a sliced beef sandwich. The outer edge of each slice was coated with dried congealed blood and it had a putrid smell. After getting nauseous the server took the sandwich off the bill and I just had to pay for the fries. I contacted the owner who emailed me back to say the red ring was normal. Yes after eating at Country's for 40 years. Yes a red color ring is normal, but a layer of congealed dried blood is not normal and is disgusting.

Simple, local, great service and even better food. The brisket today was some of the best I've ever had. My wife had chopped pork sandwich and I had this mixture of vegetables and mashed potatoes and stuff that was so good and so different. I love it all the sauces from mild to hot are epic a must visit.

Food was really good, everything was really fresh and cooked perfectly the service was also really good, super friendly and the place is clean and tidy and has a super cute look Highly recommend to stop for lunch

Service was great. We were in a large group so they sat us on the bus. The bus was cool, but dirty and it smelled a little funny. We ordered the beef brisket platter with corn bread and corn. The food was not good, brisket was super dry, fries didn't not taste fresh, and cornbread was ok. TBH I'm not really a fan of American BBQ, we only picked this place cause the people I was with were super hungry and all the food places around were not open yet. Most likely wont be going back but if you're a fan of American bbq check this place out you might like it.

Extra meat

It does not matter if you order on Door Dash or from the store, no matter the store- to go order get way less food. We have given them chances time and again and we are done. Pictures show the meat for the pork platter and an order of extra meat and an order of fries. No bread for either dinner or crackers for the full salad. Just shameful. Why even bother

The food was great! And to go back in time with Fort Benning memories was icing on the cake.

A whole in the wall with all the fixins. The beef brisket was excellent. Collards and cabbage were kind of wattery and couldn't had more flavor, but not too big of an issue since the brisket was good. Great portions to everything as well. Bonus points for the sweet tea in a mason jar with tons of lemons. That was some good tea.

We happened upon this place walking around and for dinner got food to go. Portions were bigger than we expected and everything we got was great! We arrived earlier than pick up time but food was ready and they were so friendly. Inside was also really cute, and very much a diner feel.

Takeout chicken finger meal

I have eaten at all of the Country's locations and love this one for the decor and how unique the restaurant is. They also have a drive-thru which lets be honest is truly magical when you have small kids with you. We love their side choices with each meal and my family often enjoys the chicken fingers and daily specials. The only thing with Country's that blows my mind is that they only serve a baked potato once a week. Potatoes in my opinion are a southern staple and often served with barbecue. On my last visit I did a takeout order and had the vegetable of the day/corn casserole with it. Service was friendly and packaging felt thrown together, but overall the food was delicious. If you are visiting Columbus or new to the area this is a must try local spot!

bbq pork platter

I had dinner at Country's in downtown/uptown Columbus. Since I live and work abroad, I only visit Columbus every few months and this is a restaurant I love to stop at for a meal that really feels like home. I had the pulled pork platter, which was great and a half-sweet tea. Our waitress, Hannah, was so sweet too. Honestly, she is a rockstar! If you go and have her as a server, you'll be very grateful for her company. The uptown location is a fun environment too since it used to be an old bus station and is set up to look like an old-school diner. 5-stars for sure.

Sad salad
J B.

Tragic salad served to me. It consisted of mostly brown iceberg lettuce, one tiny almost transparent slice of carrot, and a sad lonely sprig of red cabbage. That was IT. Service sucks. The server was more concerned with playing with her huge cow catcher eyelashes than taking care of her customers. BBQ here has been COLD on my last few visits.

Sadly the food has gone down hill. Even the waitress agreed our fries were grease and limp. Work was ok. Winner was chocolate chess pie then I found out it was microwaved??

You can never go wrong with the chicken tenders with finger sauce and ranch. I'm currently loving the limited time fried okra appetizer too.

We noticed some folks sitting on the bench by the line and learned they were waiting for "dressing" which they recommended we try. We ordered two ribs plates and one baked chicken plate, dressing, collards, yams, and butter beans. Since they had sold out of cornbread we defaulted to a white dinner roll. Then onto the homemade lemonade and sweet tea. Service was great! Authentic and warm to the first time customers, they obviously had regulars who were greeted lovingly by name. All the line servers answered my questions and patiently waited for our selections. We even met "Little Ed" son of the restaurant's namesake, who was so kind! The food delivered nicely spiced ribs, tender, fall-off-the-bone baked chicken and tender collard greens. The prized jewel of Ed's for us was the dressing - wow, just delicious! I mixed mine up with the butter beans for a small protein twist. We were so satisfied that we brought home the yams for a treat later. Summary: The people are friendly and the food is the definition of comfort. Stop by for the experience and don't forget to close the bathroom hallway door- lol, a nod to our youngest son aka rule follower.
