I'll never return to this knock-off location!!!! I went to get my Mother a turkey sandwich, but upon arriving, I noticed a disturbing sign on the door. The sign stated that masks are not and will not be required at this location. I thought that was applicable to only customers (which I still agree with); however, not even the staff are required to wear one!!!! FOLKS, we are in the midst of a flipping pandemic!!!! How are not going to require masks for ALL persons in the establishment, but ESPECIALLY those preparing food!!! That behavior us reckless and grossly irresponsible!!!! I'll NEVER go back! I saw another customer order this and thought something so simple.... But it sounded so good!! I ordered a Q-fries which is BBQ on French fries. I had them add cheese with a side of ranch and let me tell you the flavor is a taste that seems like it should have always existed! The soft tender chopped pork which was followed up by the salty crunch of the fries! Adding the BBQ sauce only added to the flavor extravaganza that was happening in my mouth! Visited 13th Street BBQ on Veterans in Columbus, Ga , Wednesday, 11/8/2023. Been feeling the Pirk Chop Sandwhich for weeks. Ordered 2 and a large Coke with know ice. The code was great, sauce on the sandwich..mild was very tasty. We received a Pork Loin Sandwich. The Menu Board said Pork Chop Sandwich. I was very disappointed, Pork Loin is not the same as a Pork Chop I am familiar with. It was thick and dry. Please bring back the real Pork Chop Sandwich with the bone. It will sell. My family and I were headed to South GA to visit family. Hubby wanted some BBQ so I told him to search for some in the area we were at the time. GPS told us to take an exit and turn right and the minute we turned right I knew the spot we were headed to. We smelled the smoke as soon as we bent the corner! It was an exciting smell BTW. We quickly noticed a drive thru which was very busy and lots of cars parked which meant it was busy inside as well. Our kids had eaten a few hours ago but wanted to eat again because the food smelled so delicious! We all tried the brisket. Hubby and Teen had the Brisket Sandwich and I tried the Brisket Salad. Each Sandwich came with pickles and BBQ Slaw which is a must to be added to the sandwich. Our Teen does not care for Cole Slaw but she definitely enjoyed this BBQ Slaw. Our Preschool Son enjoyed a slice of Cheesecake which was fluffy and delicious! We had to make him not eat it all to avoid a tummy ache. I had ranch with my Brisket Salad but added a little BBQ Sauce to give it that extra taste. I've been here a couple of times. The pork chop sandwich is absolutely to die for. The last time I also got Brunswick Stew which tasted just like my Grandpa Smoky made when I was little. They've recently remodeled and it was like a different restaurant! It went from being a whole in the wall to a pretty, well decorated and comfortable interior. I honestly cannot rate the food of this restaurant. As one of only three cars in the drive thru, we waited in line for more than 30 minutes and never even made it to the window to order. I realize with Covid that things are more difficult to get things done, however, this was extremely excessive. I've been to probably 100 BBQ spots in the Southeast during my travels the last few years. In a recent business meaning in Phoenix City they wanted to take us to 13th Street Bar-Be-Que. We were told it was the best in town - and it might be, but it doesn't compare to some the better chains in the South. Dreamland, Jim N Nick's, the Little Dooey, etc, own it. Meanwhile, the BBQ here isn't bad. In fact, it's good, just not great. And, the service and staff couldn't be more heartwarming and friendly. It feels like a true family operation, which comes with value. The staple seems to be the pork chop sandwich, which was pretty good. The other BBQ was good, not great. Some of the meat wasn't as tender (was tough to even cut some of the meat) or tasteful as I'm used to and I didn't finish my meal because of it, but it could be worse. I'd give it a 2.5 stars, but with that option not available, I raised it to a 3, because the sweet tea is good! read more

I gave it a 2 because the sides were decent and i respect locally owned businesses. I came into the restaurant and the cashier taking my order ignored me for 30 secs and did not smile or say hello. This is necessary for the bbq industry in Columbus, GA as it is so competitive. I got the pork plate, a side of slaw and a side of Brunswick stew. Slaw and stew were very good and the sweet tea was great. The pork...very dry. I basically was eating pork jerky. I dont know if it was because i came in after normal lunch hours? Also i noticed that they leave several pork butts on the pit to keep them warm. Well, that probably is also the reason that there pork is uber dry. I ate some of it and decided to throw the rest away (almost the whole plate). I really do not complain much, but i am an avid bbqer myself and the only way meat turns out that bad is with lack of care and attention. read more

I'm from Texas but like all types of BBQ (tx, tn, ga, Carolina, etc) if it is good moist and good flavor. The BBQ sauce was unique and mustard based. It wasn't bad, also had a hickory one too which I liked the best. Ribs did not have a distinct flavor other than smoke. Chopped pork was delicious, with some hickory sauce. And the pork loin was ok. This place has good ribs and brisket. The last couple times I have been in, there has been a good sized crowd but the food came out quickly and was hot and fresh. My husband and I just moved to Columbus and decided to try this restaurant. The smell is amazing and they seemed pretty busy. It was lunch time and they had already ran out of brisket. I got the slice pork sandwich and my husband got the combo plate (sliced pork, chopped pork and ribs) , the meat was pretty dry. The meat tasted ok, nothing to write home about though. I had better tasting BBQ in Hawaii. The baked beans were outstanding though, the best part of our overpriced meal. The girl at the counter looked like she rather be elsewhere. My wife and I were traveling through and decided to stop in. We arrived around opening time and the parking lot was pretty full. We walked in and saw only two customers and the a back room full of employees. The smell was fantastic! The pit was inside the restaurant and looked sooo good. I ordered the combo (ribs, pulled pork, and pork chops) and my wife ordered the brisket sandwich.
