Came here after going to a couple of other places that were either closed or had a long wait and this place was on our way. It's very small, so there was about a 5 minute wait before a table opened up. There were only 2 people taking orders and serving food, but the place is so small that was plenty. If they had any more staff it would have been too crowded. They only serve breakfast, but have a lot of different options from pancakes & waffles, to omelets & eggs benedict, along with some Hawaiian and Mexican dishes. I had their Classic Breakfast, which included 2 eggs, sausage or bacon, with an upgrade to hashbrowns from home fries and toast. We got there around 12:30pm and the food came out very fast. And it was SO GOOD! Like, the best breakfast I've ever had and I'm not really a big breakfast person. SO, SO GOOD! I would definitely come back again if it was closer to my area. I was in the neighborhood to meet the architect for a floor plan. I was so early for the appointment, so I decided to get an early lunch/late breakfast. I walked and the host-Juan, the name was on the receipt. I asked Juan what would he recommend, he told that the machaca was awesome. So I do, and waited outside for the order. Juan came out to hand me the food, what a gentleman. I drove off and found a spot to park and eat the food. Right off the bat, the food was out in a plastic container with the 4 holes on the bottom not on top. These holes were made to let steam escape, and hot food on plastic-another review for another day. Food came with 2 small salsa containers(bland), and 3 flower tortillas-loved them. Machaca was so little, it could fit on top of one of those tortillas. I mean, it was a potion, not a meal. The cost was almost $23 tip included. Now, from experience, restaurants bank on 30% profit-bless their heart, well deserved. Doing the math, $23x30%=$6.90 ~$7 rounding. $16 was the cost of Machaca. 2 eggs? = 25 cents Shredded beef = 50 cents Oil = 5 cents Tortillas = 5 cents Tortilla foil = 3 cents Salsa = 5 cents Upside container = 5 cents Labor = 50 cents Utilities = 10 cents Rent = 95 cents Total $2.53 Even if inflation was 300 %, which is not even close, more like 14%, Why the extra $10, after the profit of $7?. Economy is not well, and we all are feeling the pain, like real pain. When all retailers continue to charge unrealistic prices, it becomes inhumane. I am lucky that I can afford to pay during these horrible times, but something must give. Btw, I have eaten way better machaca somewhere else, and I didn't pay $23. Have mercy, pass it on. read more

I dig finding and trying "new to me" breakfast spots, always on the look out.. My girl and I got to enjoy just that with an excellent morning date here.. The service was great, the guy working the tables was very outgoing and welcoming to all. The chef was putting the plates down and taking care of business.. Nicely decorated spot that gives you a true grandmothers kitchen kind of feel.. The food was good, priced appropriately, and left us both satisfied. The Popeye omelet minus mushrooms was good, solid balance of flavors and a good portion size. They have a weekday breakfast deal for pancakes, eggs, bacon/sausage, and hash browns. It was a worthy plate, similar taste and quality to relatable breakfast restaurant chains.. Country Cafe is such a cozy, homey spot! My fiancé and I grabbed brunch here to start the day. We had a wait a bit to order but the staff did check in on us when they had time (they did seem very busy running around). My fiancé enjoyed his loco moco, it was super flavorful although on the heavy side. I wasn't that hungry, so I'm glad I was able to order a kid's meal. The chocolate chip add-on was so yummy! I was super satisfied with the crispy, yet fluffy pancakes. If you love coffee and spices, the cafe de olla is a must try! They captured that flavor perfectly. read more

Went in about 845am on a weekday, a single customer sitting in one of the booths. Empty breakfast place at this hour should have been a clue to turn right around and leave. Waiter brings coffee, lukewarm. I select the chicken fried steak and eggs. The gravy had the consistency and taste of canned product. Nothing was seasoned. I had to use the salt & pepper to make it taste. I generally don't use the salt/pepper set out on the table- they are basically tasteless due to just sitting in the shaker for days/weeks at a time. Had to ask for everything twice. Another customer came in and the staff seemed surprised by actually serving paying customers. English is my second language, so I had to suffer the back-of-the-house banter with very explicit sexual conversation rich with misogyny. Both the Service and Food are a 1, bc can't go into a fractional rating. Price would be competitive and comparable if Service & Food didn't really weigh down the entire experience. Ambiance is a solid 1, with sticky tabletops and wobbly I've had great service and food experiences and I was glad to pay more. We are what we consistently practice. What we tolerate, becomes what we accept. I don't see how this place has such high ratings, perhaps I'm too picky. Perhaps those ratings are decidedly biased bc they're posted by persons known to the owner and/or staff. Stopped in on a rainy morning, sat out front with my dog. Very accommodating staff. Friendly and good service. Coffe was basic, but good-I'm a basic coffee person. Food was good, had the country breakfast 2 eggs, sausage and hash browns. Eggs over medium were done perfect. Sausage was done nicely and had good seasoning. Stopped by country cafe while in the area today. It's easy to find, at the corner of 4th Street. Decently sized parking lot. The service was great, the waiter was polite and friendly. Inside the ambiance is nice, a little bit of a dinner feel,, the music is a little loud, but not too bad. I ordered the avocado toast with over medium eggs, and it came with home style potatoes. The potatoes were really good. The avocado toast was good. Not the best I've ever had, but it was good enough. The eggs may have needed a little more seasoning. I'd seen this place around since we lived in the area and decided to try something new. We're glad we did! The service was excellent with generous portions. The interior was a typical cafe style decor and a small, intimate space. It's a good place if you're looking for a quick breakfast bite and want big portions. The place is very cute. I like the ambience it's clean and cozy. However, the waitress we had was incredibly rude. My friends and my eggs were both cold so we asked if they could be sent back and heated. Took them about 14 minutes to return the eggs when she was taking the eggs I asked if I could eat my pancakes and put them on a different plate because I'm a very slow eater She said no you can't do that. Wow, really. By the time we got our eggs, the other two people were almost done eating. They had forgot to bring one of the person's toast. We've lived across the street from Country Cafe for about 3 years and we finally came to check it out. Why did it take us so long to do it?! I don't know! The interior of the restaurant was clean, and service was fast. And the food? *chef's kiss* delicious. I ordered the Breakfast Burrito with Sausage and bf got the ABC Omelette. Some of these reviews are wild lol. The place is a little cozy American county dinner. The menu consist of American/Mexican choices. Both times I've been here it's been pretty straightforward and the meals are good. Nothing fancy, nothing special. The gentlemen that are waiters have been nice and everything has been pretty quick. My family and I came for an early Mother's Day lunch. I 'd been here before and it was great. The menu is updated and the food is still great. (Mentioning this because I went to IHOP recently and it's both more expensive and not so good. I hadn't been to IHOP in a while and was surprised at the quality.) We got 2 loco Mocos, a Portuguese sausage and egg, a huevos rancheros and an avocado Benedict. I also got the new deep fried pancake. It was 2 pancakes that are deep fried to finish them off. It reminded me of something like eating a donut pancake. Highly recommend! The food is real food and tastes fresh. It doesn't taste like premade frozen food or artificial. For drinks, we got vanilla cappuccino, strawberry matcha, orange juice, and plain ice teas. My strawberry matcha was nice. Not some watered down matcha but a good compliment to the homemade in house strawberry jam. I like the way they make it here. Service was great, everything was fast. Prices were good. Two overcooked scrambled eggs, a small bowl of cottage cheese, a single slice of what pretended to be wheat toast, with a tiny plastic container of what was supposed to be strawberry jelly, but mostly strawberry flavored water . I will say that the service was well-intentioned and pleasant and the setting was clean and generally comfortable. When the server came to ask if he could clear the plate and I said no, I'm still working on it for some reason he took the container of what was attempting to be jelly away. A silly joke and poor attempt at being a restaurant. An owner that can barely back into a parking spot, let alone run a foodservice business. She's clueless and will inevitably fail, and I'll be watching closely and laughing. Can't wait to see the "For Lease" signs on the space. A washed up laborer "serving" tables. He lies and makes excuses and treats guests like a burden. Makes no effort to accommodate guest orders and struggles with telling the truth. Wrong menu prices, hot food served as cold as if it sat in a refrigerator over night and super questionable quality product. Little details like nearly-moldy lemons in the drinks, dirty utensils with disgusting food stuck to them, ripped and tattered seats with wet food and crumbs stuck in them, and probably the cheapest, worst kind of eggs with pale yellow yolks. I wouldn't serve this food at a homeless shelter and I hope the entire staff goes into different fields. Had to make myself vomit once I got home from breakfast yesterday. Went to Country Cafe because we wanted a simple breakfast nearby. It's a simple place with a few tables, and relatively clean interior. I say that because we were seated at a booth where the seat bench was torn up and taped over. Not a huge deal. It's a pretty good menu and I ended up getting the chilaquiles with green sauce. I asked if the red and green could be mixed together but he said no. Kind of odd, since they have two sauces, but oh well. My husband got the burrito and son got the kids' pancakes with chocolate chips which were $1 more. Kind of don't like that they charge that much for a few chips, the breakfast burrito was good according to my husband, and the chilaquiles were really good. I would go back for them, but hope that they would be a little more flexible on mixing the red and green sauces in the future! As we were finishing up, an Asian woman came and asked how everything was. I don't know if she's the owner or manager, but she was really nice and I love supporting small businesses. Yes, it is true that this one gone wrong. I should realize earlier when there is quite slow on table. I ordered a steak for medium cook, it came way over cooked. I returned dish asked cook rare. it came back as well done. not even scent of pink. portion, It is similar to filet mignon could be 6oz. biscuit and gravy went wrong as well, biscuit taste flour, gravy taste like fresh out of can. it is not worth to pay $40 for this disappointing food. Was looking forward to ordering a nice waffle with berries cause it sounded good. But we were super hesitant on ordering a waffle for the price of $20. Nevertheless, we gave it a chance to see if it would be worth the price. Unfortunately, not at all. If you want waffles from this place, you might as well say you want pancakes. The "waffle" came out as if it made soggy and soft. No crunch of a waffle. Like a popeyes biscuit left out too long but still warm in the center. Whipped cream nothing special. But at least the popeyes biscuit had a crunch. You would also expect $20 to also get you an abundance of berries but a couple will do these days... The service was decent, friendly, what you would usually and should expect from any restaurant. I felt so bad when the server asked if the waffles were good, I just nodded and smiled. We usually tip but I think for the price of a singular waffle with berries, that should suffice. Located right by the 55, this spot is super convenient for classic American food like burgers, country breakfasts, and more. The variety was what brought me in originally because it's just the type of food I like. I tried the patty melt and biscuits and gravy -- both of which were good but not great. My main issue was that the portion sizes felt small for an American restaurant, especially when compared to Suzy's Cafe and Yellow Basket, which both serve similar food. The perks of this place though are the friendly service and huge parking lot, which makes this spot easy to visit and enjoy. Atmosphere is very casual and feels homey. read more

I'm a big fan of Country Cafe! Their food is always delicious, and the staff is so friendly! A couple of our favorite dishes are the Granola Pancakes and the Loco Moco. You really need to try them both! Also, if you like corned beef hash, they cook theirs just right - nice and toasty - YUM!!! Another note I need to point out is that they have vanilla creamer for your coffee. That is a big plus for me since I like sweetened, flavored coffee creamer They have indoor and outdoor seating areas. We usually sit outside, but it was chilly today, so we sat inside. I really enjoyed it - they played oldies music which was fun! Kinda gave a diner kinda feel! Now I have to mention that we like this spot best for breakfast - we've gone for lunch once, but it was just ok. But you definitely can't go wrong with breakfast!!!
