This is probably our last time at this location. It's located in a mostly empty mall. Not super clean but still had a lot of people. We ordered salads and a burger and a lunch special of chicken tenders. Salads were all big chunks of lettuce , not fresh and very little extras. We didn't finish half. My burger arrived hammered. Meat was a precooked patty and tasteless. Hubby got chicken. It was crispy but no flavor and gravy bland. It needs to retire to a new location and new menu. read more

This was a gratifying linner with extras. Come hungry and leave full. We received fast service. Luckily, they weren't too busy at the time we dined. Our drinks were brought over quickly after ordering. I think it's no more than three minutes after ordering, when you should get at least water or soft drinks. They met the timing. Found ourselves in Temple Texas, grabbing tools for an Auto Repair project. It was getting late and we were hungry. Trying to decide to eat in the car or grab something and take it back to GT. Checking YELP and Cotton Patch Cafe kept popping up. Checked the reviews and the food and pictures looked great (Thanks Yelpers). Ordered the food on their website. The order process was easy to use, made the order but while processing the clock kept spinning. Wasn't sure if it went through, they....it DID! Great. Curb Side delivery right in front of the restaurant. So we decided to eat in the car. The Curb Staff helped as much as he could. Plastic ware, napkins, extra ice. I cut the container in half, split the meal and wow, fine dinning under the parking lot lights. We ordered the Pork Chops as it came with two. Green Salad and Loaded Baked Potato. The set up was great, all the condiments you could think of was right there in little containers. The flavor as excellent, Tender juicy pork chops, not tough as when they grill the life out of them like some places do. Best Fried Green Tomatoes ever!!!! I don't have one bad thing to say. Our waitress Angelica was the sweetest most helpful server we'd had in a while. I wasn't sure what to order and I asked her opinion and she gave me recommendations without hesitation and she was spot on. Kept the drinks full and did a fantastic job. The food was soooooo good. We lunched there today, and had an amazing server. We never caught his name but he was efficient, caring, and attentive. We ordered two of the fried green tomatoes, crispy hot and delicious. I had the Cobb Salad (no chicken) and my sister had the chicken-fried chicken jr. and our other friend had chicken tenders. Soft, warm rolls were served while we waited. Every Friday since I was born, my family and I like to go to restaurants to spend time with each other and eat good food. Often, we argue about what restaurant to choose, or why we should go to a restaurant. It's a debate every single week, and honestly, it's hard to find a restaurant that everyone feels or agrees on going to. Variety, Atmosphere, Service, Price, and Quality are all aspects of a restaurant that we look for, and all aspects that Cotton Patch has provided my family since we've started going there many years back. Cotton Patch has never once disappointed in the variety of their food. They have meals ranging from Blackened Tilapia and Avocado Bacon Burgers; to sirloin, chicken alfredo, and thanksgiving turkey. No matter what mood you're feeling, Cotton Patch always provides their customers with a huge menu full of different genres and tastes. The origin of their food stems from their statement on their website, cottonpatch.com, under the section 'Our Story.' They say that "Just as cotton is a staple of the Texas economy, our cafe aims to be a staple in the lives of our guests, offering a place where warmth, hospitality, and delicious food come together to create unforgettable experiences." I have never read a restaurant's ideals and agreed with them, but Cotton Patch has gone above and beyond and every word that they say about that delicious food is true. I have never, ever, had a bad service experience at Cotton Patch. They always have around the table service, with attentive servers and some of the quickest sit down restaurant "food on the table" times...i've ever seen. A lot of times, people might choose to go to Texas Roadhouse or Longhorn Steakhouse, but those hour and a half wait times are not for the faint of heart. Cotton Patch service seats you so fast, regardless of if they are packed or not, and they put the drinks and the rolls on the table before you can even blink. Don't even get me started on the Cotton Patch rolls. These homemade rolls are blessed by Jesus himself, they are the softest things to ever grace the planet. I'll start off by saying service was great and the establishment looks good inside and out. The reason for three stars was just quality of food. When we first sat down we had rolls brought out to us and they did not taste fresh and were slightly warm but pretty close to room temperature. When they brought out the second basket of bread they were warm and fresh and delicious. My fiancé ordered the blackened tilapia and it was ok. The fish was very bland and not seasoned well. The rice that came with it was very good and flavorful. I ordered the Sunday roast which was turkey, stuffing, broccolis rice casserole, and garlic mashed potatoes. The turkey was bland and dry. Everything else was delicious. The stuffing had a good consistency and flavor. The broccoli rice casserole was amazing and my favorite part of the main meal. The garlic mashed potatoes were delicious. We ordered the Dr Pepper cake for desert and it is amazing. Definitely can not go wrong with ordering this desert. read more

While we were dining at this location tonight, my daughter had removed her Invisiligns and had them sitting on a napkin on the table. At some point our server picked them up and threw them away. When we realized they were missing and asked about them, she seemed horrified and went to look for them. She was gone a long time and we were horrified as well to know something that goes in my daughter's mouth was being fished out of the trash. The server was very apologetic when it was not located and we recognized that since, they are clear, they may be hard to see sitting on a napkin. But we were surprised she could not feel them when she picked them up, since they are hard and clearly what she picked up was not just a napkin. At no time did a manager visit our table to apologize or talk to us. We are from out of town and will not be able to get a replacement until we get back home. My daughter is suppose to wear them 22 hours a day and only removes them to eat and will not have anything for at least 2 days. What really burns me up is we were still charged for dinner! They threw away my daughter's Invisilign and still charged us for dinner?!?!? That's horrible customer service in my book! read more

Then when the food came it was so much. Excitedly we dove in. The chicken fried steak was amazing and from there dipped down. The squash product tasted heavy of dehydrated onions. Bathe black eyed peas however just like my Mom made. Then the carrot cake. It tasted oddly of stale bathroom smell. I nearly got sick. The gal cleaning tables wiped all on the floor, food still on chairs and use same cloth on 6 tables without using any sanitizer. So all in all... probably won't go back. read more

Came here to celebrate my grandmother's birthday! As one of the few restaurants in Temple that offers gluten free options, it was a safe choice. I ordered the Grilled Salmon and while it was good, I was disappointed in the serving size for the veggies. I was still very hungry after eating the entire meal - usually I eat a ton of veggies. Our waited was very friendly and incredibly attentive so I definitely appreciated that, but I thought it odd that he never wished my grandmother a happy birthday even after we informed him we were there to celebrate her birthday. Typically restaurants at least sing or have a special dessert, but no one even said happy birthday at all... a little disappointing! The restaurant was clean but a little chilly and we were seated immediately upon arrival. We dined early, so it wasn't too busy, but they were kind in seating us as close as possible because my 89-year-old grandmother has a difficult time walking quickly or any distance and just had a major shoulder surgery. On this visit we called in several orders for pick up. The order taker on the phone was very nice, I repeated everything to make sure it was all good - we set up a time for pick up. We brought our food to the office. Everything looked okay, however, there were a few issues: - One of our burgers did not have any of their special sauce on it - - which was one of the reasons why it was ordered. That was a major bummer cuz the burger was dry. - The side Cesar Salad was wilted and there were some bad pieces of lettuce in there - - looked like it was prepped a while ago and refridgerated for an extended period of time. - My Grilled Chicken sandwich was - - meh. It had 3 mushrooms total, the breast was quite small, and looked as if it was hastily assembled. It still tasted pretty good, just didn't look appetizing. The Positives: - We called to complain and they forwarded us to a manager, she was nice and professional. We asked to take that burger off the bill (with the missing ingredients) and she obliged - - "no problem". So - customer service was very good. So in the future - if we ever order to go, I'll probably have to inspect everything beforehand to make sure it's a-ok. One shouldn't have to do that, but I will - just in case. I ordered a kid's chicken tender off the DoorDash app. I was under the impression it was four tenders as pictured . I checked double fries . I will attach a picture of what was advertised as opposed to what we got . For the fried mushrooms there's two options Texas sized and not Texas sized. Only two people in the house eat mushrooms so we selected the smaller size and pictured below is what we got . We did call and speak to a MOD even though we absolutely hate doing so. The person on the phone was pleasant and did admit the kids tenders needed more fries . But they do need to specify how many are in an order . That needs to be changed on the site . We spent $65 on food and still had to heat up food bc of this .We were told the mushrooms aren't about quantity but by weight. 5 mushrooms for an appetizer is ridiculous. Who ever is in control of the menu needs to either change that or just take them off. Since me and my husband had to share 5 mushrooms ..... we did think they tasted pretty good. Before I even looked at photos of their food, I was so hyped for this place! I was on a long car trip, and Cotton Patch was smack in the middle of the journey. Obsessed with seafood, I knew exactly what I wanted: the Grilled Cajun Duo. I also started with the Fried Cheese Sticks. The cheese sticks were delicious. Perfectly fried on the outside and gooey on the inside. You see those pizza commercials where they're slowly pulling the cheese from the crust? Yea, it's essentially like that. Throw in the marinara sauce and you got an appetizer you can get excited about. The Grilled Cajun Duo. Even with all the hype built inside my head, this dish didn't disappoint. They took the unremarkable tilapia and made it into a fish I'll gladly go out of my way and shell out money for. The meat was tender and flaky. I pride myself on making salmon, but please tell me your secrets on cooking tilapia! Oh yea, the crawfish cream sauce isn't just some boring sauce made from crawfish stock. This sauce actually has crawfish in it and compliments the rice very well with its hearty thickness. The shrimp was pretty good too. Trust me on this when I say my plate afterwards was licked clean! My boyfriend and I were visiting Temple last week. I ordered the southern fried shrimp and he had fish tacos. I guess my first mistake was ordering seafood in Texas... The shrimp tasted so disgusting and so fishy! Not even a lemon could cut the flavor it was that overbearing. His tacos were just as bad but he was so hungry he ate them anyways.
