Homely - a term used to describe someplace comfortable and cozy. In this case, it includes their food. Our portions were enough to feed three people, even if we were only two. This was a gratifying linner with extras. Come hungry and leave full. We received fast service. Luckily, they weren't too busy at the time we dined. Our drinks were brought over quickly after ordering. I think it's no more than three minutes after ordering, when you should get at least water or soft drinks. They met the timing. There's a menu with nice selections and hot flavorful food. Gotta have the fried okra!

Best Fried Green Tomatoes ever!!!! I don't have one bad thing to say. Our waitress Angelica was the sweetest most helpful server we'd had in a while. I wasn't sure what to order and I asked her opinion and she gave me recommendations without hesitation and she was spot on. Kept the drinks full and did a fantastic job. The food was soooooo good. Beef tips and steak were cooked perfectly and juicy. Chicken fried chicken and tenders were very tasty and veggies were fresh. All in all it was great! We'll definitely be back before they close. Hoping they stay in temple after the mall closes.

The food was great! Everything was hot. We even sampled to trio with chips, queso and salsa. The chips were hit and fresh.

I'll start off by saying service was great and the establishment looks good inside and out. The reason for three stars was just quality of food. When we first sat down we had rolls brought out to us and they did not taste fresh and were slightly warm but pretty close to room temperature. When they brought out the second basket of bread they were warm and fresh and delicious. My fiancé ordered the blackened tilapia and it was ok. The fish was very bland and not seasoned well. The rice that came with it was very good and flavorful. I ordered the Sunday roast which was turkey, stuffing, broccolis rice casserole, and garlic mashed potatoes. The turkey was bland and dry. Everything else was delicious. The stuffing had a good consistency and flavor. The broccoli rice casserole was amazing and my favorite part of the main meal. The garlic mashed potatoes were delicious. We ordered the Dr Pepper cake for desert and it is amazing. Definitely can not go wrong with ordering this desert.

Really enjoyed the brisket street tacos with chips, salsa, guacamole & queso. The tacos were just the right size to enjoy the peach cobbler warm w ice cream! Yum!

While we were dining at this location tonight, my daughter had removed her Invisiligns and had them sitting on a napkin on the table. At some point our server picked them up and threw them away. When we realized they were missing and asked about them, she seemed horrified and went to look for them. She was gone a long time and we were horrified as well to know something that goes in my daughter's mouth was being fished out of the trash. The server was very apologetic when it was not located and we recognized that since, they are clear, they may be hard to see sitting on a napkin. But we were surprised she could not feel them when she picked them up, since they are hard and clearly what she picked up was not just a napkin. At no time did a manager visit our table to apologize or talk to us. We are from out of town and will not be able to get a replacement until we get back home. My daughter is suppose to wear them 22 hours a day and only removes them to eat and will not have anything for at least 2 days. What really burns me up is we were still charged for dinner! They threw away my daughter's Invisilign and still charged us for dinner?!?!? That's horrible customer service in my book!

I got it with mashed potatoes and fried okra. I think the only negative if I had to list one is they charge an extra $2 for simply getting gravy on mashed potatoes or if you got a baked potato there is an extra charge for each individual topping instead of just making it one price. This is definitely a place worth the stop if you're in the area.

My wife had the special, Beef stew with Corn Bread. The catfish was very good and tasty both sides were good. The beef stew left a lot to be desired my wife was looking forward to it. Then she started picking out the meat with all the fat and grizzle on it, which ended up being 85% of all the meat in the bowl. we told the waitress about it and she seemed put off about it. She told the cook and the manager. A little while later she brings a small bowl out with " what she said the cook said had lean meat on it." the first three pieces I took off had more grizzle on it. Sorry not cutting it, the manager never came over to the table to say anything or acknowledge the problem. A little concern would have been nice. went to pay the bill and the girl at the register said she could charge me half price for the food. I guess that is the best they can do, so it would seem all they want is your money and not trying to fix the problem. we will never cross this threshold again wishing you the best in the future.

The Southern Poutine was hearty and comforting (sausage in lieu of cheese curds) The bartender was exceptional-knowledgeable, engaging, and attentive. Would love to see a broader wine list with greater range. Was disappointed they didn't have the fireplaces on especially since it's been so cold. A nice fireplace would have really elevated the experience by adding a cozy atmosphere. Also, they have a fruit fly problem.

The door to the restaurant stays open so if someone comes in it doesn't immediately shot which can be a little bit annoying. Since you were in a real road station you get that feel and almost anticipate a train coming down the line which can be a lot of fun. There are also some old rail cars located near the dining area. Since it's a small space and echoey, we could not hear ourselves over the group of people talking. Drinks: We started with the Queen Bee cocktail and a red wine. The cocktail was good but I didn't feel the mixture of flavors worked well for my taste. I can't recall the name of the wine but it was a nice wine to pair with red meat. Appetizers: we started with the fried green tomatoes and the Caesar wedge salad. The tomatoes were a little bland and came out cold (not sure if that was on purpose?). The wedge was good but was slathered in dressing which made it a little too rich. *Side note: I realized after we left that complimentary bread was mentioned on the appetizer menu, but I'm unclear if we had to ask for that...? It was never offered nor brought out. I decided against ordering the French baguette because I assumed there was complimentary bread. Entrees: I had the Ravioli Diablo and my husband tried the Sea Bass special that came with clams, mussels and lobster ravioli. The Ravioli Diablo was just OK, kind of a small portion. For the special, he liked the mussels but thought the sea bass was a little overdone. In hindsight, there was a lot going on with that plate; the ravioli was a bit out of place and it could've used a nice risotto or rice instead. Dessert: we tried ordering Creme brulee but they were out so we ordered the "brown butter" cheesecake instead...I'm including the description from the menu and a picture of the bare cheesecake loaf I received with no toppings (I took the picture after my husband took a bite). I'm actually most disappointed about this since I was hoping it would be the part of the meal to make up for the mediocrity of everything else. "Vanilla bean brown butter with candied pecans and soft whipped cream" Honestly I tried to be optimistic but it was overall not the experience I was hoping for. Especially for a $200 bill.
