Let's see... taking inventory here... 1. Marinated artichokes - the flavors of the parmesan cheese, artichokes, and olive tapenade actually made my mother describe it as a "Flavor Explosion". No joke. 2. Foie Gras - I am not a foie gras fan normally but this was so tasty. My dad ordered it with a Sauterne and it was the perfect pairing. 3. Dover Sole - was the special of the night. Light, buttery, not too oily. 4. Filet Mignon Forestier - if you like mushrooms (I do! I do!) then this is the steak for you. I ordered medium rare and it was more medium well. 5. Roast chicken - figs, yellow curry, and apparently another ingredient is "amazing" because that is what my mom and grandma kept saying (or shouting and, alternately, whispering... it was a pretty dramatic scene). 6. Profiterole - I don't much care for these, but the chocolate sauce I could have drank from a mug. It's a tiny restaurant and was packed, so I'd recommend a reservation. read more

Very cozy and atmospheric French coin de la rue. Met some friends here. I was in a mildly worked up froth of antcipation for a great French meal. After all, look at all those reviews! I was disappointed with the experience. I ordered duck. For $32, a half of a beautifully roasted duck was slid in front of me. And that was it. A bit of berries, but not a sign of any accompaniment. What was the duck, my birder friend joked? Merganser? Mallard? A rare, Warner Daffy? Peeping under the perfectly browned skin, there was a mere centimeter of duck fat. So I guess it was a Spa Duck. We had a reservation tonight thru open table. Checked in on time and were told they missed our reservation and the only table available was outside by the parking lot. Not acceptable. Even though there were tables open, the lady said they were reserved. I informed her that I also had a reservation. She said sorry but there is nothing I could do. She said they screwed up. If I owned this restaurant and this happened I would offer to come back and the restaurant would pick up the tab, instead they let us leave pissed off. Côte d'Azur continues to do an outstanding job of presenting excellent French appetizers, entrees and desserts. The foie gras is the best we've had anywhere, including very highly rated restaurants, with a beautiful presentation and a very large portion for $26. This time, we also enjoyed delicious escargot as an appetizer, lobster in champagne and caviar truffle sauce, and veal tenderloin with mushrooms. French desserts also are irresistible, especially the profiterole with Belgian chocolate sauce. There's a good wine list and also some good wines by the glass. Background music of jazz vocal standards and rustic French decor makes for a nice atmosphere for couples or small group dining. It's a small space in a strip mall, best suited for unhurried and conversational meals. read more

Best food in Naples, in my book! If you want big portions cheap, this is not for you. If you enjoy great French cuisine, and don't mind paying for it, this is for you. The haricots vert done to perfection, sweet and tender. The veal tenderloin on a delicious bed of diced, seasoned mushrooms is great. So good I keep ordering the same darn thing- got to try something new next time. BTW, Great appetizers- grilled (and peeled!) tomatoes with burrata cheese, and roasted artichoke hearts were the two we had on our last visit-wonderful. If you are a foodie, you will love this place. Oh, and although it is tucked in between an auto rental storefront and a salon in a non-descript strip mall, the inside is like a charming French cafe. Try it, you won't go wrong. read more

I am not going to go into too many details other than to say food quality and service exceeded my and my five guests expectations. Don't let the location in a strip mall fool you, the atmosphere is a little bit whimsical and over the top but the service an cuisine is extraordinary. Excellent food but the restaurant is too small and seats are uncomfortable. With those prices, they should move to a larger location. It's a French restaurant but there were also pasta and meditaranean items on the menu. I had the lobster in the clay pot. It was delicious but it looks bigger in the photos. The food was very good and prepared well. No one at my table was unhappy with their order. Location was in a strip mall close to Publix which was weird but at least you an find parking during dinner. read more

This was the best meal we had during our 3 month stay in Naples. The restaurant is an authentic French bistro- quaint, intimate and warm. Our server Tony was personable and helpful and recommended wonderful entrees. We started with a burrata " salad" of heirloom tomatoes, olives and artichokes. It was a delicious start to our 3 course meal. Make sure to spread the burrata on their homemade bread. Heavenly. My husband had the crispy duck with cranberries , pears and currants. Wow! Fabulous. I chose the branzino, a fish baked with olives, capers and cherry tomatoes. A wonderful savory dish. The profiterole with vanilla ice cream bathed in a giant pool of chocolate was the perfect end to a delightful dinner. What a find. Kudos to the chef. We will be back. read more

Simply one of the best restaurants in Naples. You don't make it twenty plus years in a strip mall without having great food and great service. It's a small space, but elegantly appointed. Yes it can be noisy and crowded. An absolute gem hidden away. I have never had a bad meal or experience here. This trip I had the raspberry, grape tomato and goat cheese salad. It was so amazingly delicious. Not flavors I would ever think of, but by far my new favorite. For dinner I had the veal medallions and they were perfect. Under "new" ownership since out last visit, the waiter told us that "It's better than before." I said "I'll let you know." I had the lump crab meat appetizer which was excellent with a number of flavors - wasabi, caviar, roasted red pepper, etc.- complementing but not overpowering the crab.The crispy duck was exactly what I like with a bare minimum of fat over a crispy skin-covered boneless breast. My wife had the Dover Sole which was the specialty of the house pre-ownership change, and was thrilled to find that it is at least as good as before. The table-side preparation was expertly done. The meal was capped by a complementary profiterole filled with vanilla ice cream and covered with molten chocolate. As we handed the check to the waiter I told him "You're right." read more

Absolutely amazing experience dining at Côte D'Azure with friends this weekend. The escargot in pesto was outstanding - plump, juicy and a nice portion size and the full 1.5 lb de-shelled lobster topped with porcini and a champagne caviar sauce was mouthwateringly scrumptious. You would never think such refined food would be in this location. Great service, overall great French meal. I had the endive salad and the snapper. The fish was fresh and the sauce it was in was bread-dipping good. You can do 2 apps for your meal if you aren't up for a big main course. My husband had the duck which was de-boned and came with a earthy plum puree. Dessert wasn't anything to write home about so I'd skip that. The only bad is the prices. The entrees are pretty high but I walked away satisfied. I'll def go back. read more

Ate here with my husband and parents on a Saturday night for a birthday dinner. The food was very good, some of it excellent. The octopus starter had very tender, perfectly cooked octopus, but was a little heavy on the oil. The escargot, however, were fantastic. I have too often had them when the garlic taste overwhelmed the dish; these were served in a parsley butter sauce that complimented the snails perfectly. The dover sole was perfection, expertly served table side. The pheasant tagine was worth a return visit--perfectly cooked, perfectly spiced. On the sweet side, but not cloying. A lovely bottle of Chablis 1er cru at $62 rounded out the meal. Excellent service, warm, generous. read more

this once wonderful french bistro has changed owners. it is hard to believe how far it has fallen. the chef?, though friendly, is mediocre at best. after being informed the red snapper signature dish was still available when making my reservation, was not. on a friday night, it was not busy, and the 4 top promised, was not available, but others sat empty all evening. this former gem, is now costume jewelry. overpriced, snooty, poor wait staff, it should be avoided like the local red tide. it pains me to write this reviw, but i'm actually being generous. mike barrie read more

We've been here many times in the past and the food has always been excellent. Tonight we were seated at a table by the kitchen and asked to be moved. Although the restaurant was practically empty the hostess refused to seat us at a different table. About 20 minutes later, another party of two came in, didn't like their table and was immediately seated at a different table. When we left there were still empty tables. Although the food was excellent, we won't be back. Naples has too many excellent restaurants, where we are not treated like second class citizens. read more

Upon arrival, while we were15 minutes late, the owner's wife told us we had 1 1/2 hours to eat an get out. The waiter, while courteous, certainly tried to accommodate us. The food was marginal but have been there before. Having enjoyed some of the finest restaurants in America, this place will never get a good rating from Michelin or Zagat. Ordered drink refills, had to remind waiter. Witness the wife tell the waiter to push us as they had other guests. We were there before but this constant push by the owner to get us out the door after spending $400 with them. Don't waste your time or money here, we go to France quite a bit, this is not French cuisine, it more like an upgraded Mel's Diner. Canceling our reservation made last week for March. It has been one of our 'go to' restaurants for a long time. This time we went with a girlfriend of mine so there are three entrees that I can tell you about. The interior has a quaint ambience that is reminiscent of a friendly, street side bistro - very French. We all had wines by the glass that were $12 each. Sharon highly recommends her choices of the artichoke salad & crispy duck. The duck was served with a wonderful fruit chutney & a green peppercorn port wine sauce. Rich started with a salad that was an addition that night: burrata mozzarella & tomatoes - delectable. Then he had the yellowtail snapper which he suspects might have really been tilapia but that didn't matter because it was cooked perfectly & tasted great. The fish was accompanied by an assortment of herbs, dried cherries & olives; all beautifully done. I was adventurous & began with the baby octopus which was spicy, tender & delicious. Chilean sea bass was my pick & it was perfect. It came with a very varied medley of nuts, herbs, & veggies. Before tax & tip, the total price per person was $60. This is a difficult place to get in to during the season. It was not quite half full when we went in late May 2014. The service was superb. read more

We have eaten there a dozen times and loved every time but last night. Ordered the turbot,my usual fav, which is usually poached in olive oil and delicious. Alas, it came bone dry to the table to be boned and transferred to the plate totally void of any juice or sauce or any of their delicious olive oil...just a dry piece of white fish lying there. Thank goodness for the green beans. Husband's veal medallions overcooked and still grey on the outside...how does one do that I wonder? Had to share my green beans as he had nothing else on his plate but the sauced meat. Haven't figured out why some dishes get vegs and others don't. Seems pretty arbitrary. Have never minded the high price before but sure did this time.. It will be a long time before we go back. read more

A quaint charming classical French bistro. We shared the calamari and artichokes for an appetizer, both of which were delicious, wonderfully fresh and expertly prepared. Our entrees were the lobster(x2), the scallops, and the veal tenderloin, none of which we could fault. Each dish being very easy to get wrong, but they nailed it, perfectly cooked with layers of complexity of flavor. 5 stars for sure if you don't mind paying a little more for great food and service. read more

Regretably our favourite restaurant is no more. This was our first visit under new owner/chef. The foie gras and crispy duck were served with a super sweet sauce which ruined the food. Both dishes were served with the same garnish. Except for Claude, who was too busy meeting guests and taking orders, our "server" was only qualified as a "bus boy". An exceptional French restaurant in North Naples! It was a full house but not noisy. We were greeted promptly upon entry and ushered to our table by Tony. Service was prompt, knowledgeable and friendly. This was my first time here, but my wife's second. We started out with a delicious Glass of Champagne. Then vowed the menu and selected a red beet with strawberry, fig and salad appetizer that was surprisingly tasty, as I generally don't eat beets, but this sounded interesting. Then my wife chose the crispy duck (truly outstanding!) and I chose the 1 1/4 lbs cracked and laid out lobster in a cream sauce with capers and caviar (awesome!) we ordered a bottle of Cote du Rhône which fit both meals perfectly (but a Hungarian Furmint wine or Pinot Blanc from the Alsace would also have paired well. For dessert we indulged with the Profiterole...real Belgian chocolate over the ice cream and pastry...Yum! What a beautiful dinner. We will be back, as often as possible to enjoy this gem. We met the owners on the way out, who were very nice and appreciative. Tony is the consummate waiter, working the room effortlessly to make sure everyone is taken care of. He is a Sommelier to boot. The ambiance brings you to the south of France. We made some excellent choices in choosing our dinner. A roasted beet salad with figs and strawberries, lobster in a tarragon champagne cream sauce, and a veal chop with a mushroom sauce. A crisp Chablis made for a lovely meal. The problem came with the service. It was very pleasant and attentive until after we received our dinners. A party of six a few couples came in and our waiter abandoned us. We sat for ten minutes waiting for our plates to be cleared. Yes, I enjoy finishing the last of my wine but not looking at my dinner plate while my waiter passes my table almost ten times without even a glance or mentioning he would be back. We received no apology, but a lame excuse saying that he thought that we were still eating. Yes, the knife and fork were placed in the plate showing we were finished....and there it sat for ten minutes. We half heartedly received a dessert menu, and most desserts were laden in chocolate...not much fruit based desserts....yes, there was a lemon tart but it had been sold out. Since we were lacking in two areas, not being a local that they knew by name or not being a larger party to earn a larger tip.....we will patronize a restaurant that treats all diners equally. I debated whether to give this experience a three or four star. Yes, the meal was a five, but the poor service took away from our evening. In a restaurant of that caliber, the service is an integral part of the dining experience. What a shame as we enjoyed the meal and would have returned before our stay was over. read more

This is one of my favorite restaurants of all time. We felt at home and comfortable. The service was amazing, and our waiter, Tony, was one of the best servers we have ever had. He was so welcoming and kind, and he had a great sense of humor. The food was absolutely amazing. I was so excited for the next dish to be brought out. I was really sad when I unfortunately had an allergic reaction to something in my salad but I don't regret eating it honestly. It was one of the best salads i've ever had. I'm sad I had to leave before dessert but the overall experience was amazing. When I was feeling sick, the staff were all so nice and didn't judge. I'm definitely going back here now that I know what I'm allergic to. read more

This restaurant has been one of our favorites for years. I normally order the turbot to be served tableside. They did not have it and said they would have to charge 80 dollars for it. The sole is not my favorite fish and they now charge 58 dollars for it. I had the lobster and it was swimming in cream sauce. It was a generous portion and was cooked perfectly. The staff should make people aware of all that cream sauce as the menu does not describe it this way. Everyone enjoyed their food. My husband loves the escargots here and the duck. The restaurant has become so pricey. I did not know it was under new ownership. I have mixed feelings about going back. read more

5.28.12 Anniversary special: Two couples, a low rent owner and a sleaze bag waiter. We always celebrate our anniversary with our next door neighbors. This year was special, for our friends were celebrating 50 years together. Since it was a monumental anniversary, they picked the restaurant where we would dine. They chose Côte d'Azur in Naples Park Area. Although we anticipated a wonderful evening together, our disappointments outweighed the good. As we were seated, the waiter asked us whose anniversary it was. We wondered how the waiter knew it was our anniversary but our friends replied that they told them when they made our reservation. With that our waiter opened a bottle of wine and implied that it was "on the house". As we reviewed the menu, we were then told the items that were not available tonight: lobster; quail; and the duck breast. He did recommend Dover Sole for $51.00. We decided on two salads to share amongst the four of us, one a Caesar salad and the other endive. As a retired chef and owner of many restaurants, quality is priority. The Caesar salad had a low grade parmesan cheese and the same cheap tasteless blue cheese on the endive. I would assume at $14.00 per salad, edible cheese would be standard and we wouldn't be told to "split them ourselves" prior to eating. I am not sure why I was surprised, when the tasteless sea bass arrived minutes after the other meals, the lamb chops were raw, advertised online for $36.00 but dinner check price 42.00, arriving prior to the bass but needing to arrive a bit later because of a round trip back to the kitchen and still raw on the second appearance. The additional two meals were veal tenderloin scaloppini morel mushrooms, but no morel mushrooms on the veal and, again advertised online for $34.00 but dinner check $37.00 per meal, both an overcharge for the quality. Needless to say, we were all very disappointed in the food, price, and service not to mention all the false on line advertising. The next day our daughter called inquiring how we liked the wine she sent and paid for at the anniversary dinner. Shocked, we were never told that the wine was a gift from our daughter. We were under the impression that the wine was a gift on the house. We have made numerous calls to the restaurant to inquire about the wine, but have received no response. As they say, live and learn. Next year on their 51st anniversary, we will not return to the French restaurant, nor will we recommend it to our friends looking for a special meal to celebrate a special day. To sum up our experience, we split our salads ourselves, ate cheap cheese, raw lamb, bland bass and overpaid. However, we were very thankful for the wine, but unfortunately thanked the wrong person. read more
